Open Heaven 10 February 2025 Today Devotional: THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST

OPEN HEAVEN 10 FEBRUARY 2026 DEVOTIONAL TODAY

TOPIC: IN AND OUT OF SEASON

MEMORISE:
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2 Timothy 4:2

READ: Acts 8:5-8
5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 And there was great joy in that city.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 10 FEBRUARY 2026 MESSAGE TODAY

I have always taken evangelism very seriously. As younger Christians, my mates and I were always looking for opportunities to tell people about Jesus Christ. Some of us bought megaphones, and we went about proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ at every opportunity we had. I recall a time when we went to preach in a town named Ganma in Kwara State. The town was so notorious for being hostile to preachers that there was no church there, and nobody dared to preach the gospel there.

When I heard about the town, I said, “Really? I must go there to preach!” The people who told me about the town said, “If you go there, they will stone you.” I told them that I had been looking for an opportunity to be stoned so that I could tell Apostle Paul that I also suffered for Jesus when I meet him in heaven. I told some people in our church that I would go to Ganma to preach regardless of the cost, and some of them said they would go with me.

When we got to Ganma, the people there told us that they didn’t want our Jesus. We replied that we weren’t leaving, so we went from house to house, preaching the gospel. The townspeople reported us to their chief, and he sent for us.

When we got there, we told him that we had come with good news for the people. We assured him that we were not saying anything against their religion and that we were law-abiding people. He said we could continue, so we left and continued preaching.

The townspeople went to report us to the chief a second time, and again, he sent for us. We reassured him that we were not causing any trouble. At this point, some of the people with me began to get uncomfortable and said that we should leave before nightfall. However, we were yet to host a film show as we had planned. I told them that we were not leaving until we were through with everything we wanted to do.

We hosted the film show, and many of those people who didn’t want to receive Jesus earlier and reported us to the chief came and eventually surrendered to Christ. Today, there is a provincial headquarters of The Redeemed Christian Church of God in Ganma.

Beloved, to be a part of God’s end-time army, you must be ready to tell others about Jesus, regardless of where the Lord sends you.

KEY POINT:

Don’t only preach when it is convenient; preach when it isn’t too.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 10 FEBRUARY 2026 COMMENTARY

MEMORISE: 2 Timothy 4:2
“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
This charge to Timothy is a military-style order for gospel soldiers. It commands readiness (“be instant”) at all times, whether convenient or not. It defines the content (“the word”) and the manner (“with all longsuffering and doctrine”)—a blend of unwavering truth and patient love. This verse is the operational manual for the end-time army Daddy Adeboye describes.

BIBLE READING: Acts 8:5-8
This passage depicts the model of a gospel pioneer: Philip entering Samaria, a region with historical hostility toward Jews (much like Ganma’s hostility to preachers). He preached Christ, performed signs, and brought great joy to the city. The result was not just conversions, but a transformed atmosphere. This is the biblical pattern for apostolic evangelism: entering hostile territory with the message and power of Christ, leading to widespread deliverance and joy.

The Heart of an End-Time Soldier: Uncommon Zeal

Daddy Adeboye does not begin with a method, but with a mindset: “I have always taken evangelism very seriously.” This personal testimony establishes that the work of an end-time army is not for the casual or the cowardly. His youthful zeal—buying megaphones, seizing every opportunity—shows a premeditated, proactive pursuit of souls, not a passive fulfillment of duty. This is the “be instant” attitude made practical.

The Target of the Army: Hostile Territory

The core of the testimony is the assault on Ganma. The town’s description is significant: “notorious for being hostile,” “no church there,” “nobody dared.” In spiritual warfare terms, this was a well-fortified stronghold of the enemy, a place where darkness had a settled rule. The end-time army is not called to preach where it is easy, but to storm the gates of hell (Matthew 16:18) in places where the gospel has no foothold.

The Motivation: A Kingdom Perspective on Cost

The response to the threat of being stoned is revelatory. Daddy Adeboye’s reply, “I had been looking for an opportunity to be stoned,” reflects a profound kingdom perspective.

  • It sees suffering for the gospel as a privilege (Acts 5:41, Philippians 1:29), aligning with the apostles and martyrs.
  • It trivializes the enemy’s threats by viewing them through the lens of eternal reward and fellowship (“so I could tell Apostle Paul…”).
  • This mindset inspires others (“some of them said they would go with me”). Courage is contagious. A true general does not recruit with promises of comfort, but with a call to worthy conquest.

The Strategy of the Army: Wisdom, Persistence, and Power

The testimony outlines a divine strategy for penetrating strongholds:

  1. Courageous Entry: They went despite the warnings.
  2. Relentless Proclamation: They went “house to house.” They did not retreat after the first rejection.
  3. Wisdom and Respect for Authority: When summoned by the chief, they were respectful, lawful, and clear about their peaceful, “good news” mission. This disarmed potential legal opposition (Romans 13:1-7).
  4. Unwavering Persistence: In the face of a second summons and fear among the ranks (“some… began to get uncomfortable”), the leader’s resolve was firm: “we were not leaving until we were through.” This is the “longsuffering” of 2 Timothy 4:2 in action.
  5. Employing All Available Means: They used a “film show”—a relevant tool of their time to attract and communicate. The end-time army must be versatile, using every legitimate medium to preach the word.
  6. The Fruit of Victory: The very people who opposed them “eventually surrendered to Christ.”The persistent, prayerful, and powerful presentation of the gospel breaks down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). The ultimate proof is the transformed landscape: “Today, there is a provincial headquarters… in Ganma.” This is more than converts; it is an established beachhead of the Kingdom of God.

The Call to Enlistment

The concluding statement is a direct summons: “To be a part of God’s end-time army, you must be ready to tell others about Jesus, regardless of where the Lord sends you.”

  • “Must be ready” speaks to preparation in prayer, knowledge of the Word, and being filled with the Spirit.
  • “Regardless of where” removes all conditions. The location may be your workplace, a difficult family, a hostile community, or a foreign nation. The army goes where the Commander sends them.
  • This is not a suggestion for a specialized unit of “evangelists.” It is the defining characteristic of every member of Christ’s army.

Practical Steps to Join the End-Time Army

  1. Shift Your Perspective: See your daily life as a deployment. Your neighborhood, office, or school is your “Ganma.”
  2. Embrace a Soldier’s Mindset: Pray for the courage to see opposition as a privilege and a sign that you are threatening enemy territory.
  3. Be Prepared and Persistent: Equip yourself with a clear testimony and a basic understanding of the gospel. Be ready to give an answer (1 Peter 3:15) and to persevere when first rejected.
  4. Use Your ‘Film Show’: Identify the tool God has given you—your skills, resources, art, or hospitality—and deploy it to create opportunities for the gospel.
  5. Aim for a ‘Provincial Headquarters’: Don’t just seek conversions; pray and work for discipleship and the establishment of God’s lasting kingdom presence in your sphere of influence.

Prayer of Enlistment:
“Lord Jesus, Commander of Heaven’s Army, I present myself to You for service. Forgive me for complacency and fear. Ignite in me the holy zeal that takes evangelism seriously. Give me the perspective to see suffering for Your name as a privilege. Send me to my ‘Ganma’ and grant me the courage to enter, the wisdom to engage, the persistence to stay, and the power to see strongholds fall. Use my life to establish outposts of Your Kingdom where darkness once ruled. I am ready to preach the word, in season and out of season, as part of Your end-time army. In Your mighty name, I pray. Amen.”
