OPEN HEAVEN 11 FEBRUARY 2026 DEVOTIONAL TODAY

TOPIC: BEAR FRUITS FOR CHRIST I

MEMORISE:
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15

READ: John 15:14-16
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 11 FEBRUARY 2026 MESSAGE TODAY

In today’s Bible reading, Jesus said that He appointed His disciples to bear fruit and that their fruit should remain. The word ‘fruit’ here means souls. Jesus has made it clear that only those who obey His commands are His friends, and whatever they ask of His Father in His name, He will give them.

Those who are closest to me are soul winners because I know soul winning is paramount in the heart of God. I am determined to keep winning souls until I die. Even if there are no opportunities, l will create them so I can tell others about Jesus.

Someone once said that it wasn’t recorded that Jesus celebrated His birthdays and then criticised me for celebrating my birthday. I appreciated him and told him that God uses my birthday celebrations to win more souls into His kingdom.

God has chosen us to bear fruits that abide in His kingdom; we must use every avenue we have to pursue this.

It is sad that many people don’t take evangelism seriously. Jesus commanded us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, as we see in today’s memory verse. He didn’t ask us to go only where we are accepted or where things are easy; He asked us to go into all the world, whether things are rosy or not. When God gives us an assignment to go, we must go.

In Acts 16:6-40, Paul had a vision where he saw a man beckoning him to come to Macedonia to help them. Before this time, He had made some attempts to preach the gospel in some cities in Asia, but the Holy Spirit forbade him. One would think that because God asked him to go to Macedonia, there would be no opposition or trouble.

However, shortly after Paul and Silas got there, they were beaten and imprisoned. Yet, this didn’t stop them from preaching the gospel. People who are not ready to face hardships will not go far in obeying Jesus’ commandment to go into all the world to preach the gospel.

Beloved, sometimes, as you preach the gospel, people will reject or mock you. However, be of good cheer whenever that happens. Jesus said that anyone who suffers persecution for His sake will have a bountiful reward (Matthew 5:11-12).

Keep preaching the gospel at all times, whether it is convenient or not, and you will continue to shine as a star forever (Daniel 12:3).

KEY POINT:

Commit to preaching the gospel at every opportunity you have.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 11 FEBRUARY 2026 COMMENTARY

MEMORISE: Mark 16:15
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
This is the great commission, the final command of the resurrected Christ. It is not an invitation but a command; its scope is universal (“all the world,” “every creature”); its action is active (“go,” “preach”). This verse defines the primary mission of the Church and every believer, framing soul-winning not as a spiritual gift for a few, but as the marching order for all.

BIBLE READING: John 15:14-16
This passage establishes the relational context for evangelism. We are not impersonal agents but “friends” of Christ, brought into His confidence. This friendship is conditioned on obedience to His commands—chief among them, the command to bear fruit. The “fruit” is explicitly interpreted here as souls—eternal, abiding results. Furthermore, this intimate friendship grants us unparalleled access in prayer (“whatever you ask”), which is a vital resource for the work of soul-winning.

The Paramount Priority of God’s Heart

Daddy Adeboye makes a profound personal declaration: “Those who are closest to me are soul winners because I know soul winning is paramount in the heart of God.” This reveals a critical spiritual principle: intimacy with God aligns our priorities with His. What is most important to God must become most important to His friends. His personal resolve—“I am determined to keep winning souls until I die. Even if there are no opportunities, I will create them”—demonstrates that this priority is active, not passive. It takes initiative and sees every context (even birthday celebrations) as a divinely orchestrated avenue for the gospel.

The Command: Unconditional and Uncompromising

The devotional clarifies the nature of Christ’s command in Mark 16:15. It is:

  • Universal in Scope: “Into all the world… to every creature.” There are no no-go zones, no excluded people groups.
  • Unconditional in its Difficulty: “He didn’t ask us to go only where we are accepted or where things are easy.” The command stands regardless of the anticipated reception or hardship. Obedience is not predicated on favorable circumstances.

The Reality of the Assignment: Hardship and Opposition

Using the example of Paul in Acts 16, Daddy Adeboye dismantles a common misconception: that divine guidance guarantees a smooth path. Paul was explicitly called by God to Macedonia through a vision, yet his obedience led directly to beating and imprisonment. This is a crucial lesson for the end-time army:

  • Divine Assignment Does Not Nullify Adversity: In fact, it often provokes it, as the enemy fights to maintain his territory.
  • Persistence Defines True Obedience: Paul and Silas did not stop; they prayed and sang in prison, leading to a jailer’s salvation. “People who are not ready to face hardships will not go far in obeying Jesus’ commandment.”

The Right Response to Rejection: Joyful Resilience

The believer’s attitude in the face of rejection is not to be discouragement, but divinely-enabled resilience. The call is to “be of good cheer.” This cheer is rooted in the promise of Christ: “anyone who suffers persecution for His sake will have a bountiful reward” (Matthew 5:11-12). The soldier’s focus shifts from the immediate, temporary discomfort to the eternal, bountiful reward. This heavenly perspective is the fuel for enduring mockery and rejection.

The Eternal Result: Abiding Fruit and Lasting Glory

The motivation for this relentless, hardship-enduring evangelism is twofold:

  1. Fruit that Remains: The goal is not just decisions, but disciples—souls securely anchored in God’s kingdom (John 15:16). This is fruit with eternal significance.
  2. Everlasting Shining: Daniel 12:3 promises that “those who turn many to righteousness [will shine] like the stars forever and ever.” Soul-winning is an investment in eternal glory. The laborer does not fade but is promised a perpetual, star-like brilliance in God’s eternal kingdom.

How to Live as a Fruit-Bearing Friend of Christ

  1. Accept Your Appointment: Internalize that you have been deliberately chosen and appointed by Christ for this purpose (John 15:16). It is your identity.
  2. Leverage Your Access: As Christ’s friend, boldly pray for divine appointments, open doors, and courage, claiming the promise of John 15:16.
  3. Create Opportunities: Follow Daddy Adeboye’s example. Don’t wait for perfect moments; use every event, relationship, and platform as a potential gateway for the gospel.
  4. Redefine Hardship: See opposition not as a sign of failure, but as a confirmation that you are on the front lines, worthy of sharing in the sufferings of the apostles (Acts 5:41).
  5. Focus on the Eternal: Keep the twin rewards in view—the abiding fruit of a saved soul and the eternal star-like glory for the one who led them there.

Prayer of a Fruit-Bearing Friend:
“Lord Jesus, my Friend and Commander, thank You for choosing and appointing me to bear lasting fruit. Align my heart with Yours, making soul-winning my paramount priority. Forgive me for complacency and fear. Grant me the creativity to create opportunities and the courage to go into difficult places. When I face rejection and hardship, fill me with Your joy and keep my eyes on the eternal reward. Let my life be spent gathering souls that will abide in Your kingdom, so that in eternity, I may shine for Your glory alone. Use me today to preach the gospel to someone. In Your mighty name, I pray. Amen.”
