RCCG OPEN HEAVENS 11 OCTOBER 2026 TODAY MESSAGE
Growing up, my father was so poor that even poor people called him poor. However, at that time, I had a friend whose father was poorer than mine. As poor as my father was, he was still able to gather enough money to send me to school for the first two years of my studies. This friend of mine, on the other hand, could not even enrol in school because his father had no money to sponsor him.
Whenever other children went to school, my friend would go around looking for a place to work. One day, someone gave him a task to clear a piece of land outside the town. While he was working, he struck something that was buried in the ground, and when he checked it, he discovered that it was a large pot filled with gold coins. The pot must have been buried several years before then, when people preferred to bury their valuables rather than take them to banks.
When my friend picked up the pot, he looked left and right, but there was nobody around him. Then, he took all the coins and went home. He took one of the coins to a goldsmith, who examined it and told him how much he was willing to pay for it. The amount was so huge that the boy exclaimed, “Ah!” The goldsmith thought that the boy knew the true value of the coin and that his exclamation was because he knew he was about to be cheated, so he said, “Alright, I will pay you double.”
The boy responded again, “Ah, ah!” The goldsmith continued to bargain, and eventually, he promised to pay him five times the initial offer. The boy could not believe his luck. The goldsmith asked further, “Do you have more?” The boy replied, “Yes.” Not long after that, my friend left the village because he had now become very wealthy.
Beloved, just one divine breakthrough can transform your life for good. One of my spiritual sons lost his job, and God told him to start selling peanuts. God’s instruction, however, was for him to fry the peanuts with honey. From selling peanuts, he became so wealthy that he was able to buy private jets. When God gives you a breakthrough, you will move to a level you never even thought you could attain. However, to get that breakthrough from God, you must be intimate with Him enough to hear His instructions and obey them.

Lord, please open my eyes to see where

Today’s devotional, “Just One Breakthrough,” reminds us that a single divine encounter can change your life forever. Daddy shares two powerful stories — one about a poor boy who found buried gold, and another about a spiritual son who became wealthy selling honey-fried peanuts.
God can transform your story in a moment. But to receive that breakthrough, you must be intimate enough with Him to hear His instructions and obey them.
1. A Poor Boy’s Divine Discovery
Daddy grew up poor. But he had a friend whose father was even poorer and could not send him to school at all.
While other children went to school, this friend would look for work. One day, he was hired to clear a piece of land outside town. While working, he struck something buried in the ground. It was a large pot filled with gold coins.
He took the coins home. He took one coin to a goldsmith, who offered a huge amount. That is how he became wealthy.
One discovery changed everything. One moment of divine favour ended years of poverty. God can do in a second what you could not do in a lifetime. Your breakthrough may be closer than you think.
2. From Peanuts to Private Jets
Daddy shares another story of his spiritual sons lost his job. God told him to start selling peanuts — but with a specific instruction: fry them with honey. He obeyed. From selling peanuts, he became so wealthy that he was able to buy private jets.
When God gives you a breakthrough, you will move to a level you never thought possible.
The instruction may seem small. The method may seem ordinary. But when God is in it, ordinary things produce extraordinary results.
Don’t despise the simple instruction. Obedience is the doorway to abundance.
3. Intimacy Comes Before Breakthrough
To get that breakthrough from God, you must be intimate with Him enough to hear His instructions and obey them.
The spiritual son heard God say, “Sell peanuts. Fry them with honey.” That instruction came because he had a relationship with God. If he had not been listening, he would have missed it.
Many people want breakthroughs, but they don’t want intimacy. They want the blessing without the relationship. But God’s instructions come to those who are close enough to hear His voice. Spend time with Him. Stay in His Word. Cultivate a listening heart. Your breakthrough may be hidden in a word you haven’t heard yet.
Relating This to Your Everyday Life
We all have moments when we feel stuck. Maybe you’ve been struggling financially. Maybe you’ve been waiting for a job. Maybe you’ve been praying for a breakthrough that seems delayed.
But today’s message reminds us: It only takes one. One divine encounter. One instruction obeyed. One open door. One favour.
And this breakthrough happens when you stay close to God.
Listen for His voice. Obey what He tells you — even if it seems small or strange. Your breakthrough is coming. And when it comes, it will change everything.
Action Steps
1. Cultivate Intimacy with God — Spend time in prayer and the Word daily. Ask God to speak to you about your breakthrough. Learn to recognise His voice.
2. Obey Every Instruction, No Matter How Small — If God tells you to do something — even something that seems insignificant — do it. Your obedience may be the doorway to your miracle.
3. Refuse to Despise Small Beginnings — Don’t look down on where you are now. God often starts small to end big. Stay faithful. Stay hopeful.
Prayer Points
- Father, I thank You because You are the God who gives breakthroughs. Thank You for the testimonies of those who have experienced Your supernatural turnarounds, in Jesus’ name.
- Lord, forgive me for doubting that my situation can change. Forgive me for despising small beginnings and for being impatient with Your process, in Jesus’ name.
- Father, draw me closer to You. Give me an intimate relationship with You, so I can hear Your instructions clearly and obey them quickly, in Jesus’ name.
- Lord, I ask for just one breakthrough that will change my story. Open doors no man can shut. Bring favour and opportunity my way, in Jesus’ name.
- Father, give me the grace to obey You completely — even when Your instructions seem strange or small. Let my obedience unlock my abundance, in Jesus’ name.
- Lord, I refuse to remain in lack and struggle. Let wealth and riches be in my house, and let my righteousness endure forever, in Jesus’ name.
- Father, I decree that my breakthrough is coming. I will move to a level I never thought possible, and I will testify of Your goodness, in Jesus’ name.
