OPEN HEAVEN 24 FEBRUARY 2026 DEVOTIONAL TODAY
TOPIC: THE UNLIMITED GOD VI
MEMORISE:
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:7
READ: 2 Kings 4:1-7
Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.
2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.
3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.
5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.
6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.
7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.
RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 24 FEBRUARY 2026 MESSAGE TODAY
Today, I will discuss God’s unlimited capacity to meet all your needs with His unlimited resources.
The Bible is filled with many accounts that show that God is unlimited when it comes to supplying the needs of His children, and today’s Bible reading is one of such accounts. The widow of a man of God was in a really terrible situation because she was in a lot of debt, and her creditors had come to take her two sons as slaves to pay it off. Thankfully, the woman ran to Elisha to tell him about her ordeal. By running to the man of God, she invited the Unlimited God into her situation, and not only did He meet her immediate needs, He also provided for her future needs.
Beloved, God is not limited by what you have or do not have to provide for your needs. He is not limited by who you know or do not know to supply the resources you need. His resources are unlimited, so unlimited that He can wipe out all the debt you might be owing in one day, no matter how huge they are. He is Jehovah El-Shaddai, which some Bible scholars translate as ‘The Mother’s Breast. In a mother’s breast, there is enough milk for her babies to feed. God is unlimited, and He can supply whatever you need. Some Bible scholars have also said that when Jesus said, “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it,” in John 14:14, He was actually saying, “If you ask for something that I haven’t created already, I will create it for you.” That is how unlimited our God is.
In John 1:1-3, the Bible says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” Because God made all things, He owns all things, and because He owns all things, He can use anything He deems fit to ensure that your needs are met. Never doubt that God cares for you. If He ensures that the birds of the air don’t lack what to eat daily (Matthew 6:25-26), then He will abundantly supply your needs. Put all your trust in the Unlimited God;
He is more than able to supply all your needs according to His unlimited riches (Philippians 4:19).
KEY POINT:
The Unlimited God truly cares for you, and He has more than enough to meet your needs.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 24 FEBRUARY 2026 COMMENTARY
MEMORISE: 1 Peter 5:7
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
This command is rooted in the character of God. We are to cast our anxieties—our debts, our lacks, our fears about provision—because the One we cast them upon is fundamentally, intrinsically care-full toward us. His care is not passive sentiment but active, engaged benevolence that mobilizes His unlimited resources on our behalf. To withhold our care is to doubt His care.
BIBLE READING: 2 Kings 4:1-7
This passage is a perfect case study in divine provision. The widow’s predicament was extreme: debt threatening the dissolution of her family. Her resource was negligible—“not anything… save a pot of oil.” Yet, her action was correct: she “ran to the man of God.” This represented a turn from human solutions to divine connection. Elisha’s instructions (borrowing empty vessels, shutting the door) required faith and obedience. The miracle was proportional to her capacity to believe and receive (“as many as thou canst”). The oil stopped only when there was no more capacity to contain it, proving God’s supply matches and exceeds our prepared expectation.
The Unlimited God in the Face of Dire Need
Daddy Adeboye focuses on the most pressing form of limitation: material and financial need. The widow’s story proves that no situation is too desperate, no debt too large, and no resource too small for God. By inviting God into her crisis, she accessed a solution that was creative (using common oil), abundant (filling every available vessel), and sustainable (providing for her future).
The Nature of Our Unlimited Provider
The devotional expands our understanding of God’s provision with powerful imagery and theology:
- Jehovah El-Shaddai – The All-Sufficient One: The translation “The Mother’s Breast” is profound. A mother’s milk is perfectly designed, constantly renewed, and always available to meet the child’s need. It is a picture of intimate, nurturing, and self-replenishing supply. God is not a distant banker; He is a nurturing Parent whose very nature is to sustain His children.
- The Creative Power in a Prayer: The insight into John 14:14 is staggering: “If you ask for something that I haven’t created already, I will create it for you.” Our needs do not strain a pre-existing inventory; they engage His creative power. The God who spoke worlds into existence can speak a new solution, a new resource, or a new stream of income into your life. His creativity is part of His unlimited capacity.
- The Owner of All Things: John 1:3 establishes that “All things were made by him.” Therefore, He has sovereignty over all created things—money systems, natural resources, human inventions. He can redirect “anything He deems fit”—an unexpected check, a favor, a sudden idea, a commodity like oil—to meet your need. He is not limited by your network; He commands the network.
The Foundation: His Unchanging Care
The entire promise rests on the bedrock of God’s character: “Never doubt that God cares for you.”Daddy Adeboye points to the logic of Matthew 6:26: if God meticulously provides for birds, how much more will He do for you, His redeemed child? Anxiety is a form of practical atheism that says, “God does not see or care about my need.” The command is to “cast” that lie away and replace it with active trust.
The Action and Promise of Total Provision
The conclusion merges a command with a magnificent promise:
- The Command: “Put all your trust in the Unlimited God.” This is the active response. It means to stop trusting in your savings, your job, or your own ingenuity as your primary source, and to transfer the full weight of your dependence onto Him.
- The Promise: “He is more than able to supply all your needs according to His unlimited riches.”This is a direct citation of Philippians 4:19. Note the words:
- “More than able” – His ability exceeds your biggest need.
- “All your needs” – Comprehensive, not selective.
- “According to His unlimited riches” – He does not measure out help from a limited stash; He draws from the infinite treasury of His glory.
How to Access His Unlimited Supply
- Run to Your ‘Elisha’: Bring your crisis to God in prayer and to godly counsel. Don’t hide your need; voice it before the Lord and His representatives.
- Gather Your ‘Empty Vessels’: Act in faith to prepare for the blessing. If it’s debt, create a budget and list your creditors. If it’s a business, prepare the systems. Faith prepares capacity.
- Shut the Door: Remove distractions and the voices of doubt. Get alone with God in persistent, believing prayer. The miracle happened in the private place of obedience.
- Pray with Creative Expectation: Ask boldly, knowing your God can create a solution that doesn’t yet exist. Base your request on His nature as El-Shaddai and Creator.
- Cast the Care, Keep the Trust: Daily, verbally cast your financial anxieties upon Him (1 Peter 5:7). Then, refuse to pick them back up. Walk in the peace that He is caring for you.
Prayer to Your All-Sufficient Provider:
“Jehovah El-Shaddai, my All-Sufficient God, I come to You today casting all my care upon You, for I know You care for me. I confess my anxieties about [mention your specific need]. I declare that You are not limited by what I have or do not have. You are the Creator and Owner of all things. Today, I put all my trust in You. I ask in the name of Jesus for Your creative, abundant, and sustaining provision. Meet my immediate need and provide for my future, according to Your unlimited riches in glory. I prepare my heart and my hands to receive all You have for me. Thank You for being my caring, nurturing, and all-powerful Provider. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
