TOPIC: HE KNOWS WHAT TO DO

MEMORISE:
The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
Psalm 34:17

READ: John 6:5-13
5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?
6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him,
9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 26 FEBRUARY 2026 MESSAGE TODAY

In 2 Kings 5:9-14, when Naaman went to Elisha, desiring to get healed of his leprosy, he expected the prophet to come out and lay his hands on him. He had an expectation of how the prophet would attend to him, but God had something else in mind, and if he had not followed Elisha’s instructions, he would have remained a leper.

Likewise, in today’s Bible reading, Jesus looked up and saw the crowd that had come to Him to listen to His teachings. He knew they must have been hungry, so He called His disciples and asked where they could get food for them. As He asked them, the Bible says that He already knew what He would do.

Beloved, I have good news for you: God already knows how He will solve any problems you might be encountering. One of my sons once said, “Before your problem started, God already had a solution.

He created the solution even before the problem showed up.” God has a solution for every problem, even before they start. I pray that God will show you the solution to every mountain that might be challenging you and your family, in Jesus’ name.

The Lord knows what to do to meet all your needs. In our Bible reading, He fed more than five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two small fishes, and there were twelve baskets of leftovers remaining. Somebody may ask, “Where did all that bread come from?” My answer is that it came from Him because He is the bread of life. He just kept creating more bread as the disciples were distributing the five loaves He broke at the beginning. In the name of the One who called me, you will have more than is sufficient before this year runs out.

Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Psalm 90:1-2

The Scripture above tells us that the Almighty God has been in existence from generation to generation, ever before the mountains were brought forth. He knows the foundation of all mountains; therefore, He can move any mountain.

God knows exactly what to do to solve all problems, so call on Him to help you surmount whatever problem you might be facing. Trust in the One who is all-knowing and all-powerful, and you will surely overcome.

KEY POINT:

God knows how to solve all problems. Put your complete trust in Him.

Open Heavens HYMN 30: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 26 FEBRUARY 2026 COMMENTARY

MEMORISE: Psalm 34:17
“The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.”
This promise establishes the believer’s right to cry out and God’s unwavering commitment to respond with deliverance. It is comprehensive—”out of all their troubles.” The Lord’s hearing is not passive; it is an active engagement that mobilizes His power toward our situation. The righteous are not merely heard; they are helped, because their cry aligns with the heart of a delivering God.

BIBLE READING: John 6:5-13
This passage reveals Christ’s sovereign foreknowledge and creative power in the face of overwhelming need. His question to Philip was a test, for “he himself knew what he would do.”Before the problem was fully articulated by the disciples, the Solution was already present and had a plan. The miracle itself was one of continual creation—the bread kept multiplying in the hands of the distributors. The abundance was so great that leftovers exceeded the original offering, proving God’s solutions are not minimal but overflow with surplus.

The Pre-Existing Solution

Daddy Adeboye delivers a profound theological truth: “Before your problem started, God already had a solution. He created the solution even before the problem showed up.” This reframes our understanding of divine providence. God is not reacting to our crises in real-time; He is operating from a position of eternal foreknowledge and preparedness. Our problems do not catch Him off guard, scrambling for a plan. Therefore, our prayer is not to inform Him of a need, but to align ourselves with the solution He has already orchestrated.

Divine Methodology: Trusting His Unconventional Ways

The example of Naaman (2 Kings 5) is crucial. He had a preconceived, dignified expectation for his healing (the prophet’s personal touch and dramatic prayer). God’s method—washing in the humble Jordan River—seemed foolish and offensive. The lesson: God often delivers through means we do not expect. Our role is not to dictate the how, but to obey the instruction given, even when it contradicts our logic or pride. The solution is perfect, but our reception of it requires surrendered trust.

The Source: The Creator Himself

When questioned about the origin of the multiplied bread, Daddy Adeboye provides the ultimate answer: “It came from Him because He is the bread of life.” This points to Christ’s divine nature. He did not merely bless existing resources; He created new substance ex nihilo (out of nothing) as it was needed. This means:

  • Your provision is not tied to visible resources. The solution can be created on the spot.
  • He is the Source, not a channel. We look to Him, not to the economy, the job market, or human benefactors.
  • The promise of “more than sufficient” is based on this creative, overflowing nature of God. He doesn’t just meet needs; He fills baskets with leftovers to demonstrate His abundant care.

The Eternal God Over Temporal Mountains

The reference to Psalm 90:1-2 grounds God’s ability in His eternal nature. “He knows the foundation of all mountains; therefore, He can move any mountain.”

  • Mountains here symbolize long-standing, immovable problems (generational issues, chronic illnesses, entrenched lack).
  • Because God existed before the mountains were formed, He understands their composition and holds the authority to dismantle them. A problem that seems ancient to you is recent to the Eternal One. Its longevity does not intimidate Him.

The Prescription: Cry, Trust, Overcome

The devotional ends with a clear, three-step pathway to victory:

  1. Cry: “Call on Him to help you.” This is the active step of faith, the “righteous cry” of Psalm 34:17. Vocalize your dependence.
  2. Trust: “Trust in the One who is all-knowing and all-powerful.” This is the internal posture. Believe in His foreknowledge (He already has the plan) and His power (He can create the solution).
  3. Overcome: “You will surely overcome.” This is the guaranteed outcome. The all-knowing God will not be perplexed by your problem, and the all-powerful God will not be defeated by it. Your victory is certain in Him.

How to Align with God’s Pre-Existing Solution

  1. Shift Your Perspective: When a problem arises, declare: “God, You saw this coming and You already have the answer. Show me Your solution.”
  2. Surrender Your Expectations: Like Naaman, lay down your pride about how God should act. Be open to His unexpected, often simple, methods (a word, a small step of obedience, a person you overlooked).
  3. Focus on the Source, Not the Resource: Stop counting your “five loaves and two fish.” Offer them to Jesus and watch Him create with them. Your part is obedience and distribution; His part is miraculous multiplication.
  4. Command the Mountain with Eternal Authority: Speak to your problem from the perspective of Psalm 90: “Mountain of [name the problem], my God existed before you were formed. He knows your foundation, and I command you to be removed in Jesus’ name.”
  5. Expect Leftovers: Pray and believe not just for breakthrough, but for abundant overflow—the “twelve baskets” that prove the miracle came from an unlimited God.

Prayer to the God of the Pre-Existing Solution:
“Eternal God, my dwelling place in all generations, I cry to You now. I thank You that You are not surprised or unprepared for the challenge I face. You already have the solution. I surrender my own expectations of how You should work. Open my eyes to see and my heart to obey Your instructions, however unconventional. I trust in Your all-knowing foreknowledge and Your all-powerful creativity. You are the Bread of Life; create now what I need. I speak to every mountain facing me and declare that because You formed it, You can remove it. I trust in You, and I receive my sure overcoming now, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.”
