OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 28 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE
God wasn’t enthroned; therefore, nobody can dethrone Him. The devil once tried, but he was kicked out from Heaven (Revelation 12:9). God is King, and He is King forever.
When I say that God is king, I mean that He is King over all earthly kings. No matter how powerful a king is and no matter how much he has achieved, God is greater than him. In Daniel 4:1-37, Nebuchadnezzar thought that he could take the glory that belonged to God. God made him eat grass for seven years, and when he came back to his senses, he said, “God is the Almighty.”
If you are a king in your own right, whether in your organisation, family, state, or wherever, your reign is only temporary. You should submit to the One who is King forever if you want to have a good and memorable reign. David submitted to God. and uo until today. Israel still recognises him as their greatest king ever.
Many years ago, I was invited to dedicate the RCCG national headquarters in a particular country, and I gave the church leaders a date in my calendar. In that country, government permits are required before hosting dedication ceremonies, so the church applied for a permit.
However, a man in the government was determined to stop the dedication. He said. “I have heard about this church. You plan to convert everyone and build churches everywhere; that will not work here.” The church leaders called me to report the situation, and to be honest, l didn’t even pray about it.
The day the man was to attend a meeting to conclude that the dedication wouldn’t be allowed to take place, he accidentally put both of his legs into the same trouser hole as he was dressing up. He struggled to free his legs until he fell and was rushed to the hospital. He eventually died with both of his legs still in the same trouser hole.
Nobody possesses greater power than God; when me decides to do something, Its better to cooperate with Him because He cannot be stopped.
Jesus is King forever, and all power belongs to Him. All souls are His (Ezekiel 18:4), including yours, and He wants you to surrender what belongs to Him. You belong to the King, and it is a blessed thing to belong to Him because you will automatically have access to all that He has.
KEY POINT
There is only one King who reigns forever: King Jesus.

OPEN HEAVEN 28 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY
1. The Unshakable Throne of God
Open Heaven devotional for today begins by declaring God’s eternal, uncontested kingship:
- No one can dethrone Him (Revelation 12:9 – Satan’s failed rebellion).
- Earthly kings rise and fall, but His reign is perpetual (Daniel 4:34-35).
Key Insight:
- Human authority is derived and temporary (John 19:11 – Pilate’s power was “given from above”).
- Nebuchadnezzar’s humbling (Daniel 4:30-33) proves: “Pride precedes a fall” (Proverbs 16:18).
Application:
✔ Leaders: Serve with humility—you’re a steward, not a sovereign.
✔ Believers: Trust God’s supremacy over oppressive systems.
2. The Futility of Resisting God’s Will
Today’s devotional shares a striking testimony:
- A government official opposed a church dedication → Died tragically mid-resistance.
- Principle: “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31).
Biblical Parallels:
- Pharaoh (Exodus 5-14): His defiance led to Egypt’s ruin.
- Herod (Acts 12:21-23): Struck dead for accepting worship.
Warning:
- Opposing God’s work invites judgment (Matthew 12:30 – “Whoever is not with Me is against Me”).
- Cooperation with God brings blessing (Acts 5:38-39 – Gamaliel’s counsel).
Prayer:
“Lord, reveal areas where I resist Your will. Align me with Your purposes, in Jesus’ name.”
3. The Privilege of Belonging to the King
The devotional shifts to a tender truth:
- “All souls are His” (Ezekiel 18:4) → You are God’s treasured possession (Deuteronomy 7:6).
- Surrender grants access to His resources (Romans 8:17 – “Heirs of God”).
Key Implications:
- Identity: You’re a royal subject (1 Peter 2:9) under divine protection.
- Provision: The King supplies needs (Philippians 4:19).
- Authority: Delegated power to advance His kingdom (Matthew 28:18-20).
Action Step:
✔ Daily declare: “I belong to the King of kings—His plans for me are good!”
4. David’s Model: Submission to the True King
David’s legacy (Acts 13:22) teaches:
- Success comes from acknowledging God’s supremacy (Psalm 20:7).
- Earthly reign flourishes under heavenly authority (2 Samuel 5:12).
Modern Application:
- Parents: Lead your home under God’s lordship.
- Workers: Serve your employer as unto Christ (Colossians 3:23).
5. The Call to Total Surrender
The devotional for today closes with an invitation:
- “You belong to the King”. Yield fully to His rule.
- Promise: “Access to all He has” (1 Corinthians 3:21-23).
Altar Call:
“Lord, I surrender every area of my life – my will, relationships, and ambitions – to Your kingship. Reign in me forever!”
Final Thought: The Blessedness of Divine Citizenship
In a world of temporary powers, you’re enrolled in an unshakable kingdom (Hebrews 12:28).
“The government official’s tragic end warns us: No one thwarts God’s plans. His church will prevail!”
Prayer of Alignment:
“Eternal King, dethrone every idol in my heart. Rule me completely, that my life may display Your glory. Amen.”
“Your highest safety and success lie in bowing to the One who cannot be overthrown!”
