OPEN HEAVEN 31 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: SAY TO THIS MOUNTAIN

MEMORISE:
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mark 11:23

READ: Genesis 1:1-3:
1 In the beginning God created* the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 31 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

God created the world by speaking it into existence, as we see in today’s Bible reading.

The earth was in a terrible shape; it was void and covered in darkness. Amid this chaos, God called forth light to shine out of the darkness, and His creative work began. Hebrews 11:3 says, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

Everything that we see was created by the power of God’s word. There is creative power in the word of God. This is why, as a child of God, when challenges come your way, you do not complain. Rather than complain, you should put the word of God on your lips and speak His will into existence. No matter the kind of obstacles that are hindering God’s will from being manifested in your life, He wants you to speak and command them to move out of the way.

Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
Zechariah 4:7

The authority to speak to mountains is not exclusively for ministers of God. Rather, it is for every genuine child of God. This means that, if you are a child of God and you command the mountains that are contrary to God’s will in your life to disappear in Jesus’ name, they will obey. The Bible says in Philippians 2:9-10 that at the mention of the name of Jesus, every knee in heaven, on earth, or underneath the earth, should bow.

Some Christians speak to their mountains, but they say the wrong things. Instead of commanding a mountain to be removed, they plead with it for mercy or complain about it.

When God says, ‘Speak to the mountain’, He wants you to address it squarely. However, you must get rid of doubt so you can speak authoritatively to that mountain.

James 1:6 says:
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Beloved, doubt robs believers of their authority, and you must not permit it in your heart. Believe in the absolute power of God’s word without any doubt, and no mountain will be able to stand before you.

KEY POINT

Don’t complain about negative situations in your life; rather, speak God’s will into existence concerning them.

HYMN 3: ANCIENT WORDS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 31 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

MEMORISE: Mark 11:23
“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
This is the Master’s definitive teaching on the creative power of faith-filled speech. It grants every believer the authority to address and dismantle obstacles with the same creative principle God used to form the world.

BIBLE READING: Genesis 1:1-3
This passage reveals the original creative pattern:
v. 2: The Problem: The earth was without form, void, and covered in darkness.
v. 3: The Solution: “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”
God did not complain about the chaos; He spoke order into it. His Word is the creative agent that frames worlds (Hebrews 11:3).

The Authority of the Believer’s Word

Pastor E.A. Adeboye unveils one of the most powerful privileges of the believer: the God-given authority to recreate our circumstances through faith-filled declarations of His Word. Just as God spoke light into darkness, we are to speak God’s will into the chaotic situations of our lives.

The Biblical Pattern: Speak, Don’t Complain

  • God’s Method: Faced with formlessness and void, God did not analyze the problem; He spoke the solution. He called “things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4:17).
  • The Believer’s Mandate: We are to imitate God (Ephesians 5:1). When challenges arise—sickness, debt, oppression—our first response should not be complaint or pleading, but a authoritative command based on God’s Word.

The Nature of the “Mountain”

A “mountain” is any obstacle that stands contrary to God’s revealed will for your life. It is any situation that appears immovable, such as:

  • A chronic illness
  • A financial debt or lack
  • A stubborn addiction
  • A broken relationship
  • A spiritual stronghold

How to Speak to Your Mountain Effectively

1. Address It Squarely:
Do not talk about the mountain to others; speak to the mountain itself. Command it directly in the name of Jesus, just as Jesus spoke to the fig tree and the storm.

2. Command, Do Not Plead:
You have been given authority (Luke 10:19). Your posture is not that of a beggar but of an ambassador issuing a decree from heaven’s throne room. Say “Be removed!” not “Please go away.”

3. Use the Word of God:
Your authority is derived from and embedded in God’s Word. Speak scripture to your situation. Your command must align with God’s will as revealed in His Word.

4. Anchor Your Command in the Name of Jesus:
The name of Jesus is the legal basis for your authority. Every knee must bow to it (Philippians 2:9-10). Command the mountain to move “in Jesus’ name.”

5. Eliminate All Doubt:
This is the non-negotiable condition. Doubt is a leak that drains all power from your declaration. You must believe in your heart that what you say will happen (Mark 11:23). Heart-belief must precede mouth-speaking.

The Danger of Wavering Faith

James 1:6-7 warns that a double-minded (wavering) person is unstable and should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Doubt reduces your powerful command to a mere wishful statement, rendering it ineffective.

Conclusion: Take Your Place as a Creator

Pray this:
“Heavenly Father, thank You for the creative power of Your Word and for granting me authority in Jesus’ name. Forgive me for times I have complained about my mountains instead of commanding them. Today, I stand on Your Word. I speak to the mountain of [name your specific obstacle] and I command it to be removed and cast into the sea! I reject every spirit of doubt and I believe with all my heart that what I have declared is done. My situation is aligning with Your will now, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.”

Action Steps:

  1. Identify Your Mountain: Clearly define the obstacle you are facing.
  2. Find Your Scripture: Locate a Bible promise that contradicts your mountain (e.g., for healing, 1 Peter 2:24; for provision, Philippians 4:19).
  3. Craft Your Declaration: Write a specific, faith-filled command based on that scripture. Example: “Mountain of debt, I command you to be removed now! I speak financial breakthrough and supernatural supply, in Jesus’ name!”
  4. Declare It Daily: Speak your command to the mountain daily, without wavering, until you see the manifestation.

Remember: You are not rebelling against reality; you are calling a higher reality—God’s Word—into your current circumstance. You have been authorized to frame your world with your words.

“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God…” (Hebrews 11:3). Start framing your world today.
