OPEN HEAVEN 5 FEBRUARY 2026 DEVOTIONAL TODAY
TOPIC: THE MEAL THAT DELIVERS
MEMORISE:
By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Hebrews 10:20
READ: Exodus 12:1-24
1 And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying,
2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord’s passover.
12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.
13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
16 And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.
17 And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.
18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a stranger, or born in the land.
20 Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.
21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.
22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.
23 For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.
RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 5 FEBRUARY 2026 MESSAGE TODAY
In today’s Bible reading, God instructed Moses to tell the Israelites to prepare and eat a special meal before their deliverance from bondage in Egypt.
The bread they ate had no yeast in it, and the meat was from lambs that had no spots or wrinkles. That meal was a similitude of the Last Supper Jesus ate with His disciples before He laid down His life to deliver those who believe in Him from the bondage of their sins. We call this divine meal the Holy Communion today and eat it in remembrance of our Lord Jesus Christ, just as He commanded (Luke 22:19-20).
When we partake of the Holy Communion, we symbolically eat the body of Jesus Christ, the spotless Lamb of God, and drink His blood. This divine meal brings great blessings and deliverance upon those who eat it worthily.
Eating the Holy Communion worthily and with understanding empowers you to have dominion in every area of your life. When people in the occult want to ‘fortify themselves, they usually seek to eat the flesh of virgins and drink their blood because they know that there is great power in purity. As believers, what we eat at the Lord’s table is the flesh and blood of the Holy One of Israel (Isaiah 43:3).
Beloved, you should note that just as the Holy Communion brings deliverance, it can also bring bondage and damnation when eaten unworthily (1 Corinthians 11:28-30). Those who eat it unworthily are those who have not surrendered their lives to Jesus and those who have confessed Him as their Lord and Saviour but still engage secretly in sin.
For example, Judas became possessed by the devil when he ate the Holy Communion with sin in his life (John 12:4-6), and this eventually led to his destruction (Matthew 27:3-5). If you still engage in sin, please ensure you repent and surrender all to Jesus today. Doing this gives you a brand-new beginning (2 Corinthians 5:17) and qualifies you to become a child of God so you can enjoy all the blessings that come from eating this special meal.
The blood of Jesus gives us victory over our adversary (Revelation 12:11), and His flesh not only delivers us from the path of destruction but brings us into the new and living way of salvation, as we see in today’s memory verse. I decree that you will indeed experience deliverance as you partake of the life and power of God at the Holy Communion table.
KEY POINT:
The Holy Communion is a divine meal that delivers from bondage and gives victory.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 5 FEBRUARY 2026 COMMENTARY
MEMORISE: Hebrews 10:20
“By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh.”
This verse reveals the profound mystery of the Holy Communion. The broken bread—His flesh—is not merely a symbol but the very substance of our access. It is the “new and living way” torn open for us, replacing the old covenant’s barriers with intimate, ongoing fellowship with God.
BIBLE READING: Exodus 12:1-24
This passage establishes the prototype: the Passover. The unblemished lamb, its blood applied for protection, and its flesh eaten for strength for the journey, all prefigure Christ. The meal was a divine command that preceded and activated their deliverance. It was both a memorial and a mechanism of salvation.
The Holy Communion: A Covenant Meal of Power
Daddy Adeboye presents the Holy Communion not as a mere ritual, but as a “divine meal” of immense spiritual potency. It is the New Testament fulfillment of the Passover, where we partake of the reality—the spotless Lamb of God, Jesus Christ—to effect deliverance and dominion in our lives.
The Dual Nature of the Meal: Blessing or Bondage
The Communion table is a place of supreme spiritual polarity. It does not confer automatic grace; its effect is determined by the state of the partaker’s heart and life.
1. Eaten Worthily: A Conduit of Dominion
The Requirement: A life surrendered to Jesus, marked by repentance and faith. This involves self-examination (1 Corinthians 11:28) and clean hands.
The Power Source: We consume the “flesh and blood of the Holy One of Israel.” Daddy Adeboye draws a striking parallel: just as occultists seek power through corrupt purity, believers access infinite power through true purity—the sinless life of Christ ingested by faith.
The Result: It “empowers you to have dominion in every area.” This includes deliverance from specific bondages, healing (from the path of destruction), and access into the “new and living way” of constant victory (Hebrews 10:20).
2. Eaten Unworthily: An Invitation to Judgment
The Definition: Partaking while in unrepentant sin or without genuine faith in Christ. It is hypocrisy—claiming covenant fellowship while living in rebellion.
The Biblical Example: Judas Iscariot. He ate the first Communion with theft and betrayal in his heart, and Scripture says “Satan entered into him” (John 13:27). The meal meant for life became, for him, a seal of damnation and destruction.
The Grave Warning: Daddy Adeboye directly references 1 Corinthians 11:29-30, which links unworthy participation to weakness, sickness, and even premature death. The table of grace becomes a tribunal of judgment for the presumptuous.
The Mechanics of the Meal’s Power
1. The Blood: Our Weapon of Victory
“The blood of Jesus gives us victory over our adversary” (Revelation 12:11). Drinking the cup is a faith-declaration that the verdict of the Cross—forgiveness, acquittal, and triumph over the accuser—is applied to our lives. It pleads our protection and establishes our victory.
2. The Body: Our Way of Access
“His flesh… brings us into the new and living way” (Hebrews 10:20). Eating the bread is an act of assimilating Christ’s sinless life, divine health, and brokenness that made a way for us. It is our sustenance for the journey of salvation, delivering us from destructive paths and strengthening us to walk in holiness.
How to Partake for Your Deliverance
1. Pre-Communion Examination
Before taking the elements, diligently follow 1 Corinthians 11:28. Examine your heart for unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or any area of life not surrendered to Christ’s lordship.
2. Authentic Repentance and Surrender
If sin is found, confess and repent immediately (1 John 1:9). As the devotional urges, “surrender all to Jesus today.” This repentance brings the “brand-new beginning” (2 Corinthians 5:17) that qualifies you as a true child of God able to receive covenant blessings.
3. Faith-Filled Participation
As you eat and drink, do so with specific faith. Meditate on the truths: The blood is cleansing you and enforcing your victory. The broken body is healing you and strengthening you to walk the new, living way. Proclaim your deliverance from specific bondages.
4. Post-Communion Walk
The meal is strength for the journey. Walk consciously in the dominion and deliverance you have proclaimed. Live as one who has truly ingested the life of Christ.
Conclusion: Your Place at the Table of Life
The decree in the devotional is pivotal: you will experience deliverance as you partake of the life and power of God at this table. It is not the elements themselves, but the crucified and risen Christ they represent, received by a prepared heart through faith, that unleashes transformational power.
Pray this before partaking:
“Lord Jesus, I examine my heart before You. I confess and repent of every known sin. I reaffirm my total surrender to Your Lordship. Thank You for Your body, broken to give me access to a new and living way. Thank You for Your blood, shed to give me victory over every adversary. As I partake now by faith, I receive Your life, Your health, Your dominion, and Your deliverance into every area of my being. Let this holy meal fortify me for Your glory, in Jesus’ name.”
Action Steps:
- Prepare a Personal Communion: Even before a corporate service, set aside elements (bread/juice) at home. Follow the steps above—examine, repent, partake with faith—specifically applying the blood and body to areas where you need deliverance.
- Study the Covenants: Read Exodus 12 and 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 in one sitting to deeply understand the gravity and glory of the Communion.
- Journal the Journey: After partaking, write down the specific bondages you claimed deliverance from. Track your progress and testify of your freedom.
- Live Worthy: Let the self-examination of Communion become a daily practice, keeping short accounts with God to always be in a state of readiness.
Remember: The Holy Communion is the believer’s covenant weapon of deliverance and dominion. Do not neglect it. Do not approach it carelessly. Come with reverence, repentance, and radical faith, and you will feast on the very life of God.
