OPEN HEAVEN 14 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL
TOPIC: FROM ‘NOT YET’ TO ‘NOW’
MEMORISE
Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion, for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is to come.
Psalm 102:13
READ: John 2:1-11
And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 14 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE
Today, I will explore how God can change a ‘Not yet’ to ‘Now’. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus went to a wedding in Cana, and His mother told Him, “Son, they are out of wine,” implying that He should remedy the situation.
He initially said, “My time is not yet,” but before long, what was ‘Not yet’ became ‘Now’.
I was once in the USA for ministrations, and throughout my stay, a brother volunteered to drive me. I was impressed by his humility and kindness, and when I was leaving the country, I gave him a gift to give to his children. He didn’t tell me that he had been married for 19 years with no children. Not long after that, he came to our convention with his wife and child to testify of how God turned a ‘Not yet’ of 19 years into a ‘Yes’. He said that immediately I gave him the gift, he sealed it with faith and told his wife, “Daddy gave us a gift for the children; we will keep it for them.” God is still in the business of turning ‘Not yet’ to ‘Right now’, and your case will not be different, in Jesus’ name.
Years ago, a young graduate was searching for a job. He had sent countless applications but was unable to land one. Finally, he made up his mind, saying, “I will be at the Holy Ghost Service. When I get there, I’m going to wrestle with God until I get my result. My time must come NOW.” Because he had no money, he walked 46 kilometres from Lagos all the way to Redemption City. He arrived just as I was about to begin my ministration.
After a while, I noticed a little disturbance in the congregation; the young man had fainted because he was very tired, and the people around him were trying to revive him. I said, “What’s wrong? Bring him.” When he revived, he told his story, and when the congregation heard that he walked 46 kilometres to get a ‘Now’ answer from God, he got six job offers.
Don’t postpone what God can do for you now until tomorrow because of a lack of faith or disobedience. When Jesus said His time had not yet come, to change that narrative to
‘Now’, Mary told the servants, “Do whatever He tells you.” Just as persistent faith in God will turn a ‘No’ to a ‘Yes’, total obedience to His instructions will change a ‘Not yet’ to ‘Right now’. Take a bold step inspired by God and you will see His ‘Not yet’ becoming ‘Now’.
KEY POINT
Total obedience to God’s word and instructions will change a ‘Not yet to ‘Right now’.

OPEN HEAVEN 14 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY
1. God’s Sovereignty Over Divine Timings
Open Heaven devotional for today opens with Jesus’ words at the Cana wedding: “My hour has not yet come” (John 2:4). Yet, through Mary’s faith and the servants’ obedience, His “not yet” became “now.”
Key Insights:
- Divine delays are not denials (Habakkuk 2:3).
- God’s “not yet” often requires human cooperation (e.g., filling waterpots, John 2:7-8).
Modern Example:
- The couple’s 19-year wait for a child ended when they acted in faith by preparing for the promise (like Abraham in Romans 4:17-21).
Application:
✔ Are you waiting for a “not yet”? Prepare practically and spiritually as if it’s coming “now.”
2. The Catalyst for Change: Faith + Obedience
Two pathways accelerate God’s “now”:
- Persistent Faith
- The graduate walked 46km, demonstrating desperate faith (Hebrews 11:6).
- The Canaanite woman (Matthew 15:22-28) refused to take “no” for an answer.
- Immediate Obedience
- Mary’s instruction: “Do whatever He tells you” (John 2:5).
- The servants filled waterpots to the brim—total compliance (v. 7).
Warning:
- Delayed obedience = prolonged “not yet” (Jonah 1:1-3).
Action Step:
✔ Identify one area where God is saying “wait.” Ask: “What step of obedience can I take today?”
3. Breaking the “Not Yet” Stronghold
Today’s devotional highlights strongholds that delay God’s “now”:
Stronghold | Biblical Antidote |
---|---|
Unbelief (Mark 6:5-6) | Speak God’s promises (Romans 4:20-21) |
Disobedience (1 Samuel 13:8-14) | Repent + act (James 4:17) |
Passivity (James 2:17) | Bold action (like the 46km walk) |
Prayer Strategy:
“Father, shatter every mindset of delay in my life. Align my faith and actions with Your ‘now’ timing!”
4. Testimonies as Prophetic Precedents
The couple’s 19-year wait and the graduate’s 46km walk teach:
- Faith declares the promise before it’s visible (Mark 11:24).
- The brother kept the gift for future children—a faith declaration.
- Desperation moves God’s heart (Psalm 34:17-18).
- The graduate’s sacrifice provoked divine favor.
Application:
✔ Write your “not yet” as a “now” testimony (e.g., “Thank You, Lord, for my healing NOW”).
5. Prophetic Declarations for Your “Now”
The devotional ends with a decree:
“Your ‘not yet’ is becoming ‘now’ in Jesus’ name!”
Stand on These Promises:
- Isaiah 60:22: “I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.”
- 2 Corinthians 6:2: “Now is the day of salvation.”
Action Steps:
- Fast and pray over your “not yet” (Matthew 17:21).
- Take a bold step (e.g., apply for the job, start the business).
- Testify when the shift happens!
Final Thought: Your “Now” Moment is Coming!
Jesus’ first miracle at Cana (John 2:11) revealed His glory because people obeyed amid delay. Likewise:
- Your obedience in the “not yet” season prepares you for the “now” breakthrough.
- Your story will declare God’s faithfulness (Psalm 126:1-3).
“The set time to favor you has COME!” (Psalm 102:13)
Prayer:
“Lord, I reject the spirit of delay. I receive Your ‘now’ for ______. As I obey Your leading, let my testimony bring You glory! Amen.”
“Your ‘not yet’ is just God’s pause before a powerful ‘NOW’ manifestation!”
