RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 22 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE
When you make Jesus your Lord, you will never lack strength. Psalm 84:5 says, “Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.” When people are complaining of tiredness and weakness, a fellow who has made Jesus Christ his or her Lord will keep going from strength to strength.
They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God. Psalm 84:7
If you are a child of God, every time you come before Him, He gives you a greater dose of strength than the one you had before. Nobody appears before God and leaves weak and weary. If you come before God discouraged, you will leave encouraged. If you come tired, you will leave strengthened. God’s presence supplies endless strength to weary hearts. In areas where you are weak, your Lord will make His strength available to you if you wait on Him.
Isaiah 40:29-31 says:
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Another way God strengthens His children is by sending good news their way so that their hearts will be filled with joy. I pray that God will send you good news that will strengthen your heart, in Jesus’ name.
I remember when we were building the Redemption Camp (now Redemption City), we built a house from its foundation and completed it in just seven days. I was constantly supervising the construction, but l didn’t feel tired in any way. This was because I was excited about what God was doing, and the Bible says that the joy of the Lord is our strength.
…for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
The joy of the Lord supplies abundant strength, and strength is the ability to do whatever you want to do. When you have strength, you will be able to do everything your heart desires to do for God. I pray for you today that the Lord will strengthen you and fill your heart with joy, in Jesus’ name.
PRAYER POINT
Father, please let me hear good news that will strengthen my heart in You today, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 27: WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS
OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 22 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY
MEMORISE: Exodus 15:2
“The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.”
This triumphant declaration from Moses reveals that God is not just the giver of strength; He is our strength. He is the source, the substance, and the song of our deliverance, worthy of our highest praise and the habitation of our lives.
BIBLE READING: Psalms 20:1-4
This is a prayer for divine strength in the day of trouble:
v. 1: “The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee.”
v. 2: “Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.”
v. 4: “Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.”
True strength is help sent from God’s very presence to fulfill His purpose in you.
The Covenant of Ever-Increasing Strength
Pastor E.A. Adeboye unveils a glorious promise for the believer: a life of perpetual and increasing strength that defies natural limitations. This is not a promise of a trouble-free life, but of a divinely empowered life where weakness is overcome by the infinite strength of Christ.
The Source of Supernatural Strength
- The Lord is Your Strength (Exodus 15:2): Strength is not a commodity God gives; it is who He is in you. Your connection to Him is your connection to an unending power supply.
- Strength is in Him (Psalm 84:5): The blessed man is not strong in himself; his strength is in God. This requires a conscious dependence and acknowledgment that apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).
The Process of Receiving Strength
1. Through Waiting on the Lord (Isaiah 40:31):
“Waiting” is not passive idleness; it is active trust and hopeful expectation. It is spending time in God’s presence through prayer, worship, and meditation on His Word. This is the spiritual discipline that facilitates the renewal (exchange) of our human weakness for His divine strength.
2. Through Appearing Before God (Psalm 84:7):
Every encounter with God in His presence (in personal devotion and corporate worship) results in a spiritual upgrade—”from strength to strength.” You never leave God’s presence the same way you came; you are always fortified, encouraged, and empowered.
3. Through the Joy of the Lord (Nehemiah 8:10):
God often sends strength packaged as joy. The testimony of building a house in seven days without fatigue illustrates this perfectly. Excitement about what God is doing produces a supernatural adrenaline that cancels weariness. Joy is a fuel that empowers labor.
The Manifestations of This Strength
- Renewal for the Faint (Isaiah 40:29): When you have no might left, He increases strength.
- Supernatural Endurance: The ability to “run, and not be weary… walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31). This is sustained power for the long haul, not just a short burst.
- Divine Enablement: Strength is “the ability to do whatever you want to do” for God. It is the physical, mental, and spiritual capacity to execute God-inspired visions and assignments.
The Result: A Life That Defies Natural Limits
The world operates on a principle of depletion: energy is spent and fatigue sets in. The believer operating under the Lordship of Christ operates on a principle of renewal: strength is spent and is then supernaturally replenished, often to a greater degree, leading to a life that goes “from strength to strength.”
Conclusion: Tap into the Infinite Source
Pray this:
“Lord, You are my strength and my song. I confess my weakness and my dependence on You. I wait on You now. Renew my strength. Fill me with Your joy. As I come before You, upgrade me from strength to strength. Empower me to run my race without weariness and to walk in Your will without fainting. Let Your strength be made perfect in my weakness, so that I may accomplish all You have placed in my heart to do, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Action Steps:
- Identify Your Weakness: What area of your life (physical, emotional, spiritual) feels depleted? Bring it specifically to God.
- Schedule Waiting Time: Intentionally set aside 15-30 minutes daily to “wait on the Lord” in prayer and His Word.
- Choose Joy: Consciously reject discouragement and choose to rejoice in the Lord and what He is doing, no matter the circumstances.
- Test His Strength: Step out in faith to do what God has called you to do, trusting that His strength will be supplied for the task.
Remember: Your strength is not about your age, your health, or your abilities. It is about your connection to the limitless God. You are not called to a life of barely getting by; you are called to a life of going from strength to strength.
“The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation…” (Exodus 15:2). Let this be your testimony.
