    TOPIC: ACHIEVING THE IMPOSSIBLE

    MEMORISE
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
    Luke 1:35

    READ: Judges 14:5-19

5 Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.
6 And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.
7 And he went down, and talked with the woman; and she pleased Samson well.
8 And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion.
9 And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion.
10 So his father went down unto the woman: and Samson made there a feast; for so used the young men to do.

11 And it came to pass, when they saw him, that they brought thirty companions to be with him.
12 And Samson said unto them, I will now put forth a riddle unto you: if ye can certainly declare it me within the seven days of the feast, and find it out, then I will give you thirty sheets and thirty change of garments:
13 But if ye cannot declare it me, then shall ye give me thirty sheets and thirty change of garments. And they said unto him, Put forth thy riddle, that we may hear it.
14 And he said unto them, Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. And they could not in three days expound the riddle.
15 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said unto Samson’s wife, Entice thy husband, that he may declare unto us the riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father’s house with fire: have ye called us to take that we have? is it not so?

16 And Samson’s wife wept before him, and said, Thou dost but hate me, and lovest me not: thou hast put forth a riddle unto the children of my people, and hast not told it me. And he said unto her, Behold, I have not told it my father nor my mother, and shall I tell it thee?
17 And she wept before him the seven days, while their feast lasted: and it came to pass on the seventh day, that he told her, because she lay sore upon him: and she told the riddle to the children of her people.
18 And the men of the city said unto him on the seventh day before the sun went down, What is sweeter than honey? And what is stronger than a lion? and he said unto them, If ye had not plowed with my heifer, ye had not found out my riddle.
19 And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he went down to Ashkelon, and slew thirty men of them, and took their spoil, and gave change of garments unto them which expounded the riddle. And his anger was kindled, and he went up to his father’s house.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 21 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In today’s Bible reading, the Spirit of God came mightily upon Samson, and he tore a lion apart with his bare hands. If you have ever come across a lion, you would know that what Samson did was no ordinary feat; it could only have been by the Holy Spirit. In Judges 15:11-15, when He was bound and delivered to his enemies, the Spirit of God came upon him mightily, and the ropes binding him fell off as if they had been burnt by fire. He then took the jawbone of an ass and killed 1,000 men with it. That was only possible because of the Holy Spirit.

David also achieved the impossible with the help of the Holy Spirit. After Samuel poured oil on him, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him from that day forward (1 Samuel 16:13), and the effect was tremendous. A mere shepherd boy went on to kill a lion, a bear, and a giant who was troubling his people and defying his God (1 Samuel 17:34-50).

As great as those things were, they were only the beginning of the wonders God would do in David’s life. At one time, Saul wanted to get him killed, so he asked him to get the foreskin of a hundred Philistines as bride price to marry his daughter. It was a suicide mission, but because the Spirit of God was upon David, he got two hundred foreskins and returned unharmed (1 Samuel 18:25-27). He did over and beyond what was required because of the Spirit of God upon him.

If you consider how far God has brought RCCG from a small church in the corner of a slum in a third-world country to having parishes in over 190 nations of the world and several thousands of hectares of land as campgrounds around the world – you will know that these seemingly impossible feats were only made possible by the help of the Holy Spirit. Just as the Holy Spirit helped Samson, David, and the RCCG as a church, He can help you also.

If God has told you about great and mighty things that He intends to achieve through you, or if you are faced with a seemingly impossible task, do not focus on your limitations; instead, ask the Holy Spirit to overshadow you as He did with Mary (Luke 1:35). He will supply you with the strength and wisdom you need to achieve the impossible because, with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).

    PRAYER POINT:

Holy Spirit, please come upon me and help me to achieve seemingly impossible feats for the kingdom, in Jesus’ name.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    2 Kings 9-10

HYMN 8: I Need Thee Every Hour

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 21 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

Today’s devotional for today draws from Luke 1:35, where the angel tells Mary, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you.” This same Spirit empowered Samson, David, and the early RCCG – and He is available to empower you today.

    1. The Holy Spirit Enables Supernatural Strength (Judges 14-15)

    • Samson tore a lion apart (Judges 14:6) and killed 1,000 men with a jawbone (Judges 15:15). Humanly impossible—but “not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit” (Zechariah 4:6).
    • Application: Are you facing a “lion” (a fierce problem)? The same Spirit that empowered Samson can give you supernatural strength to overcome.

    2. The Holy Spirit Equips the Unlikely (1 Samuel 16-17)

    • David, a young shepherd, defeated a lion, a bear, and Goliath (1 Samuel 17:34-37). How? “The Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward” (1 Samuel 16:13).
    • Later, he doubled Saul’s demand (200 Philistine foreskins instead of 100—1 Samuel 18:27). The Spirit doesn’t just help us survive—He helps us exceed expectations.
    • Application: Don’t disqualify yourself because of age, experience, or background. If God has called you, His Spirit will equip you.

    3. The Holy Spirit Builds What Man Cannot (RCCG’s Testimony)

    • From a small church in a Nigerian slum to global impact, RCCG’s growth is a modern-day Acts 2 miracle.
    • Application: Whether it’s personal dreams or ministry vision, don’t limit God. What looks impossible is an opportunity for the Spirit to move (Matthew 19:26).

    4. How to Access This Power

Open Heaven devotional for today highlights three keys:

    1. Depend on the Spirit, not your ability (like Samson and David).
    2. Step out in faith—David ran toward Goliath (1 Samuel 17:48).
    3. Pray for the Spirit’s overshadowing (Luke 1:35).

    Prayer Point:
“Holy Spirit, overshadow me! Fill me with Your power to do what I cannot do on my own. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Conclusion: You Were Made for More

Samson, David, and RCCG’s story prove: God’s Spirit turns ordinary people into history-makers.

    • Your “lion” (crisis) is an opportunity for God’s glory.
    • Your “Goliath” (giant problem) will fall by His power.
    • Your “small beginning” is a setup for a mighty testimony.

    Final Challenge:

    • Ask for fresh infilling of the Spirit daily (Ephesians 5:18).
    • Act in faith—the Spirit moves when we step out.
    • Expect God to do “exceedingly abundantly” above your plans (Ephesians 3:20).

The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11). What impossible thing will He do through you next?

    TOPIC: THE VEIL IS TORN

    MEMORISE
And the sun was darkened. and the veil ot the temple was rent in the midst
    Luke 23:45

    READ: Mark 15:25-39

25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.
26 And the superscription of his accusation was written over, The King Of The Jews.
27 And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.
28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.
29 And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,
30 Save thyself, and come down from the cross.
31 Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.

32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
33 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.
36 And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.
37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.
39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 20 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

When Jesus died on the cross. the veil that separated us from God was torn. Matthew 27:5 says that when He died, the veil separating the Holy of Holies from everybody except the High Priest was torn from top to bottom. God himselt took the curtain separating us from Him and tore it.

Ephesians 2:12-16 says that the wall between us and God was broken by the blood of Jesus. His sacrifice meant that we could now come in contact with God; His death opened up a new era for humanity.

Now, everyone has full access to God through Jesus Christ. It is because of Jesus that I can call God “Daddy” It is because of Him that everyone anywhere regardless of their skin colour or social status can experience God’s presence.

Jesus died so you can have an intimate relationship with the Father. Is your relationship with God distant or intimate: Jesus died because He wants you to relate with the Father personally. To what extent have you opened your heart to God?

The torn veil signifies the destruction of everything that can keep us from enjoying God’s fullness. Are you sick in your body? Are you in the bondage of addictions? Are you tormented of demons? Jesus tore the veil so that you can access health, deliverance, peace and freedom.

You don’t have to continue struggling through life when you can enjoy all that Jesus death has made available to you. I pray that everything hindering you from enjoying good health and peace will be torn like that veil. in Jesus name.

The torn veil also signifies a new beginning. It means that the old has been taken away. You can now enjoy newness and fullness of life. While the vell remained in the temple, people lived under the old covenant, but as soon as it was torn mankind was ushered into a new covenant

Hebrews 12:24 says that Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant, and his blood speaks to us. As we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, may his blood speak better things into your life, and may you experience new beginnings in every area of your life where you need newness, in Jesus name.

Lastly, the veil represents Jesus’ body (Hebrews 10:19-20). His flesh was torn so that yours can be whole. I pray that from now on, you will experience wholeness in every area of your life, in Jesus’ name.

    Happy Easter

    ACTION POINT:

Spend some time thanking Jesus for His sacrifice on the cross and for taking away the veil.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    2 Kings 6-8

    HYMN 10: IN CHRIST ALONE

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 20 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

Today’s devotional centers on Luke 23:45 (and parallel passages like Matthew 27:51), where the temple veil was torn at Christ’s death. This was no small event—it symbolized a cosmic shift in humanity’s relationship with God.

    1. The Veil Torn: The End of Separation

In the Old Testament, the veil separated the Holy of Holies (God’s presence) from the people. Only the high priest could enter, once a year, with blood sacrifices (Hebrews 9:7). But when Jesus died:

    • God Himself tore the veil (Matthew 27:51)—signifying that the way to Him was now open.
    • The barrier of sin was destroyed (Ephesians 2:14-16). No more need for animal sacrifices—Christ’s blood was enough.

    Application:

    • You don’t need a mediator (priest, pastor, or ritual) to reach God. Jesus is our High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-16).
    • Approach God boldly. If you feel distant from Him, remember—the veil is gone. You can call Him “Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15).

    2. The Torn Veil Means Full Access to God’s Blessings

The devotional for today highlights that Christ’s death didn’t just grant us prayer access—it unlocked healing, deliverance, peace, and freedom.

    • Are you sick? Jesus bore your infirmities (Isaiah 53:5).
    • In bondage? “If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed” (John 8:36).
    • Tormented? Christ disarmed demons at the Cross (Colossians 2:15).

    Prayer Point:
“Every hindrance to my health, peace, and breakthrough—be torn like the veil, in Jesus’ name!”

    3. A New Covenant, A New Beginning

The torn veil marked the end of the Old Covenant (law, sacrifices) and the start of the New Covenant (grace, relationship).

    • Hebrews 12:24 calls Jesus the “Mediator of the New Covenant.”
    • 2 Corinthians 5:17 says we are “new creations” in Him.

    Application:

    • Let go of old guilt, shame, or legalism. You’re under grace!
    • Expect newness. Just as Easter celebrates resurrection, expect fresh starts in your family, health, and purpose.

    4. The Veil as Christ’s Body (Hebrews 10:19-20)

The veil wasn’t just cloth. It foreshadowed Christ’s flesh, torn for us. His suffering secured our wholeness.

    • Physical body? By His stripes, we are healed (1 Peter 2:24).
    • Emotional wounds? He was “bruised for our iniquities” (Isaiah 53:5).

    Prayer Declaration:
“Jesus was broken so I could be whole. I receive total restoration—spirit, soul, and body!”

Conclusion: Live in the Reality of the Torn Veil

This Easter, don’t just celebrate Christ’s death – live in its power!

    • Draw near to God (Hebrews 10:22). No more distance!
    • Claim your healing, freedom, and breakthroughs. The veil is gone—the blessings are yours!
    • Walk in newness. The old is passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17).

    Final Prayer:
“Father, thank You for tearing the veil. Help me live boldly in Your presence, walk in wholeness, and embrace the new things You’re doing in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!”

Happy Easter! He is risen and because He lives, we live victoriously!

    TOPIC: ADVERTISE JESUS

    MEMORISE
And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
    Luke 14:23

    READ: John 4:1-39

When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
3 He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.
4 And he must needs go through Samaria.
5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.

33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 19 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Several years ago, we used to advertise and print fliers to announce upcoming services. If we did not have enough money for fliers, we would just use our mouths. Occasionally, we would get nails, empty bottles, and empty cans and beat them together as we sing and dance through the streets, telling people about an upcoming service. Sometimes, we would write the information for an upcoming service on blackboards and place them at different crossroads. If we saw an abandoned lorry covered with dust, we would write on the lorry, informing passers-by of upcoming services.

Today, God has given us more efficient and effective ways of communicating the gospel to people, and Luke 12:48 says that to whom much is given, much is expected.

I often say this: use every method you have to bring all your friends, relatives, and even enemies to Christ. I always say, “Phone them, text them, email them,” then I add jokingly, “iPhone them, iPad them, Facebook them, YouTube them, blog them, tweet them, uplink them, and even download them.”

When you see something on the internet that you want to save to your computer, you download it, so when I say ‘download them’, I mean, you know where they are, and you know where you want them to be, simply save them into the body of Christ.

Beloved, let God know that you will use everything He has given you to advertise Him: your smartphone, professional network, social media influence, etc. If you truly use all that you have for Him, He will trust you with more. Therefore, go all out to make sure you download everybody you can into the body of Christ. If you don’t know what to say to them, just invite them to services where you know that the Holy Ghost can arrest them. Use every means possible to bring people to Jesus.

In today’s Bible reading, the Samaritan woman brought her townspeople to Jesus. She didn’t use big grammar to try to convince them; she just told them, “Come and see a man who told me all the things that lever did. Is this not the Christ?” She used her testimony to download her people into Christ. You can also use testimonies of what God has done for you to bring people to Christ. Whenever God does anything for you, use the testimony as a tool to bring people to Him. Let your life be a billboard that points people to God always.

    ACTION POINT:

Plant a seed of kindness in somebody’s life today.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    2 Kings 4-5

HYMN 20: STAND UP! STAND UP FOR JESUS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 19 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

The devotional for today draws from Luke 14:23, where Jesus instructs, “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” This underscores the urgency and necessity of evangelism—bringing souls into God’s kingdom by any means possible.

    1. The Call to Innovative Evangelism

The writer reminisces about early evangelistic efforts—using fliers, blackboards, and even banging bottles to announce services. Though primitive, these methods were effective because they stemmed from passion and urgency for souls. Today, God has provided advanced tools (social media, smartphones, etc.), and believers must leverage them for greater reach (Luke 12:48).

    Application:

    • Use what you have. Not everyone has a pulpit, but everyone has a voice, a phone, or social media.
    • Be creative. Just as the Samaritan woman simply said, “Come and see” (John 4:29), we don’t need theological expertise—just a willingness to point people to Jesus.

    2. The Principle of Stewardship in Evangelism

Open Heaven devotional for today emphasizes stewardship. God expects us to use every resource (time, tech, influence) for His glory. If we faithfully use little, He entrusts us with more (Matthew 25:21).

    Application:

    • Maximize digital tools. “iPhone them, tweet them, download them”—meaning, engage people through every platform.
    • Personal testimony is powerful. Like the Samaritan woman, share what God has done for you. Your story can “download” (save) others into Christ.

    3. The Urgency of Soul-Winning

The phrase “download them into the body of Christ” is a modern metaphor for salvation. Just as downloading saves data, evangelism “saves” souls from destruction.

    Application:

    • Invite people to church. Sometimes, all it takes is an invitation for the Holy Spirit to convict them.
    • Live as a “billboard” for Christ. Your life should advertise God’s goodness so others are drawn to Him.

    Conclusion: A Charge to Action

The message is clear: God has equipped us; now we must act. Whether through social media, personal testimony, or simple invitations, we must “go all out” to bring souls to Jesus.

    Final Encouragement:

    • Start today. Who can you call, text, or invite?
    • Be consistent. Evangelism isn’t a one-time event but a lifestyle.
    • Trust God for results. Just as the Samaritan woman’s testimony brought many to Christ, yours can too.

“He that winneth souls is wise” (Proverbs 11:30). Let’s be wise stewards of the Gospel in this digital age!

6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 18 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In Acts 1:8, Jesus said that you will receive power after the Holy Ghost comes upon you, and you will become a witness. A witness produces proof. When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you become someone who can produce proof that Jesus is the Saviour, the Healer, and the Deliverer because He will reveal these divine attributes through you.

Your lifestyle must reflect that Jesus is in you because He said that people will be known by their fruits (Matthew 7:16). Being a witness means showing what it means to be a genuine child of God. All parties involved in a court case are expected to invite witnesses who would make statements in their favour. The testimonies of the witnesses are expected to strengthen the argument of the parties that invited them. Your lifestyle as a witness of Christ should strengthen the faith of others, not weaken it. Your life should draw unbelievers to Jesus, not push them away from Him. Your primary task as the Lord’s witness is to follow Him sincerely and use everything He gives you to lead others to Him. Don’t be the reason people vow never to follow Jesus because, as a witness, your life has told lies about God’s nature and personality. Whenever your words and conduct speak lies about Jesus, you become a false witness.

While false witnesses tell lies about what they have seen, another set of people, whom Paul called false brethren, claim to have seen things they have not. They act as witnesses when they haven’t seen anything.

Paul spoke about the dangers he faced at the hands of false brethren (2 Corinthians 11:26).

Some of them came into the Galatian church and wanted to enslave the true believers there (Galatians 2:4); they came with high-sounding opinions that were contrary to God’s will. You must beware of false brethren because they carry a contrary spirit. They twist the message of Christ and turn the grace of God into a license for immorality (Jude 1:4). Such fellows say that once you have received Jesus, you can live anyhow because the grace of God covers you. They also feign godliness for their personal gain. Paul warned that we should withdraw from such people (1 Timothy 6:5).

Beloved, as Christ’s witness, you must be careful that your life doesn’t speak lies about Jesus, and you must also take care not to fall into the trap of those who profess to be witnesses of Christ but have never met Him.

    REFLECTION:

Are you a true witness of Christ?

HYMN 20: STAND UP! STAND UP FOR JESUS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 18 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

Today’s devotional centers on the power and responsibility of being a witness for Christ. A witness, by definition, provides evidence—not just words, but a life that testifies to the truth of Jesus. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live in a way that proves Christ’s reality, but the enemy also raises false witnesses and false brethren to distort the Gospel.

    1. The True Witness: Power and Proof (Acts 1:8)

Jesus declared that the Holy Spirit would come upon His disciples, granting them power to be witnesses (Acts 1:8). A witness does not merely talk about Jesus but demonstrates His nature through:

    • Miracles (Mark 16:17-18) – Signs following confirm the Gospel.
    • Transformed Character (Galatians 5:22-23) – The fruit of the Spirit in daily life.
    • Bold Testimony (Romans 1:16) – Unashamed proclamation of truth.

Lesson: Christianity is not just a philosophy; it is a life of supernatural evidence. If the Holy Spirit is truly in you, there should be proof (1 Thessalonians 1:5).

    2. The Danger of False Witnesses

Just as in a courtroom, false witnesses distort truth. The Open Heaven devotional for today warns of two types:

    A. The Hypocrite (False in Lifestyle)

    • Claim Christ but live contrary (Titus 1:16).
    • Their actions weaken faith and repel unbelievers (Romans 2:24).
    • Example: A believer who preaches holiness but indulges in secret sin.

    B. The False Brethren (False in Doctrine – 2 Corinthians 11:26, Galatians 2:4)

    • Pretend to be believers but twist Scripture.
    • Teach license for sin (Jude 1:4) – “Grace covers all, so live as you please!”
    • Promote legalism or heresy (Galatians 1:7-9).

    Lesson:

    • Examine your life: Does it align with Christ’s standards?
    • Discern false brethren: They may use “spiritual” language but deny God’s power (2 Timothy 3:5).

    3. How to Be a Faithful Witness

    1. Obey the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:32) – Power follows obedience.
    2. Live with Integrity (1 Peter 2:12) – Let your life draw others to Jesus.
    3. Guard Against Deception (1 John 4:1) – Test every teaching against Scripture.
    4. Expose Falsehood (Ephesians 5:11) – Silence can imply endorsement.

    Final Warning and Encouragement

    • To the Compromising Witness: Repent if your life “lies” about Jesus.
    • To the Deceived: Flee from false brethren (1 Timothy 6:5).
    • To the Faithful: Keep shining—the world needs authentic proof of Christ!

    Prayer:
“Lord, fill me afresh with Your Spirit. Make me a true witness—pure in life, bold in testimony, and unwavering in truth. Expose every hypocrisy in me and protect me from deceptive influences. Use me to lead others to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

    Key Takeaway:
A true witness doesn’t just speak about Jesus—their life proves He is real.

OPEN HEAVEN 17 APRIL 2025 TODAY DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: DON’T HELP GOD

    MEMORISE
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
    Proverbs 3:5

    READ: 1 Samuel 13:1-14

Saul reigned one year; and when he had reigned two years over Israel,
2 Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel; whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.
3 And Jonathan smote the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, Let the Hebrews hear.
4 And all Israel heard say that Saul had smitten a garrison of the Philistines, and that Israel also was had in abomination with the Philistines. And the people were called together after Saul to Gilgal.
5 And the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and they came up, and pitched in Michmash, eastward from Bethaven.

6 When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait, (for the people were distressed,) then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.
7 And some of the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. As for Saul, he was yet in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.
8 And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.
9 And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.
10 And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.

    11 And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash;
12 Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the Lord: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.
13 And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.
14 But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the Lord commanded thee.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 17 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In Luke 1:26-38, an angel visited Mary and told her she was going to be pregnant and that she would give birth to a special son who was going to be great. Mary said, “That’s wonderful, but are you forgetting that I am not married yet? l have never known a man; how will a virgin conceive?” The angel said, “The Holy Ghost will handle that because, with God, nothing shall be impossible.” Imagine what could have happened if she tried to help the Lord by sleeping with a man, just like Sarah did when she encouraged Abraham to sleep with Hagar so He could have a child (Genesis 16:1-3).

Years ago, my wife and I were praying for a certain woman who was waiting for the fruit of the womb. After a while, she lost hope and consulted a witch doctor who made some charms for her, and she got pregnant. That was over twenty years ago; up until now, she has not delivered the baby. When you try to help God, you will play into the devil’s hands.

King Saul was another person who tried to help God. Shortly after he became king, the Philistines gathered together to fight Israel.

It was a difficult situation, and the people began to mount pressure on Saul to act.

Instead of waiting for Samuel to present the burnt offering, Saul decided to help God, so he overstepped his bounds into the priestly office and offered the sacrifice. When Samuel asked him why he tried to help God, he came up with excuses that he thought were valid. Those who try to help God always have excuses and reasons to do so, but this doesn’t stop them from bearing the consequences of their disobedience. Saul lost the throne because of this foolish act.

Beloved, do not try to help God; just do your part according to His word and leave the rest to Him. If you try to help Him, you will open yourself up to the devil’s manipulations and make grave mistakes. I have noticed from my walk with God that whenever He asks that you wait for Him, it is because there is something glorious on the way. Don’t get deceived by the flashy things the enemy tries to dangle in front of you to distract you or push you to ‘help God’. By trying to help Him, you might end up destroying the very things that you want Him to help you build.

    KEY POINT:

Don’t try to help God. When you do, you might destroy the things that you want Him to help you build.

HYMN 30: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 17 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

The Open Heaven devotional for today emphasizes a crucial spiritual principle: absolute trust in God’s timing and methods, even when His ways seem incomprehensible to human reasoning. The examples of Mary, Sarah, King Saul, and the barren woman illustrate the dangers of attempting to “help God” through human effort, impatience, or disobedience.

    1. Mary vs. Sarah: Two Responses to Divine Promises

    • Mary (Luke 1:26-38) received an impossible promise—a virgin conceiving the Messiah. Despite her confusion, she surrendered in faith: “Be it unto me according to thy word” (v. 38). She trusted God to fulfill His promise His way.
    • Sarah (Genesis 16:1-3), on the other hand, grew impatient with God’s delay and orchestrated a human solution (Hagar). The result was Ishmael—a source of strife that still impacts the world today.

Lesson: When God gives a promise, wait for His timing. Human intervention often leads to complications.

    2. The Barren Woman and the Witch Doctor: A Cautionary Tale

Today’s devotional recounts a woman who, after waiting long for a child, turned to witchcraft. Though she appeared to “succeed” (she got pregnant), her victory was an illusion—she never delivered the baby. This mirrors the devil’s deception: he offers shortcuts that ultimately destroy (John 10:10).

Lesson: Desperation can lead to ungodly compromises. God’s delays are not denials (Habakkuk 2:3). The enemy’s counterfeit solutions bring bondage, not breakthrough.

    3. King Saul’s Fatal Mistake (1 Samuel 13:1-14)

Saul was commanded to wait for Samuel to offer the sacrifice before battle. But under pressure, he disobeyed and offered it himself. His excuses (v. 11-12) sounded reasonable, but disobedience is never justified. Samuel’s rebuke was severe:

“Thou hast done foolishly… thy kingdom shall not continue.” (v. 13-14)

    Lesson:

    • Obedience > Convenience. God’s instructions are non-negotiable.
    • Pressure reveals character. Saul feared people more than God (Proverbs 29:25).
    • Excuses don’t erase consequences. Many today justify sin with “good reasons,” but disobedience still carries a price.

Practical Application: How to Avoid “Helping God”

    1. Trust His Process – If God said it, He will do it (Numbers 23:19).
    2. Reject Shortcuts – The devil’s “flashy offers” (power, quick money, sinful relationships) are traps.
    3. Wait in Prayer, Not in Panic – Like David, say, “My soul, wait thou only upon God” (Psalm 62:5).
    4. Remember: God’s Delays Have Purpose – He is preparing something greater (Isaiah 64:4).

    Final Encouragement

God doesn’t need our help—He demands our faith and obedience. Whether it’s a promise, a trial, or a calling, let God be God. As the devotional warns, trying to “help Him” can sabotage His plans for your life. Instead, “Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord” (Exodus 14:13).

    Prayer:
“Lord, teach me to wait on You. Forgive me for every time I’ve tried to ‘help’ You with my own strength. I surrender my plans, fears, and impatience to You. Let Your will be done in Your time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

    Key Takeaway:
God’s ways are perfect. Don’t assist Him—obey Him.

OPEN HEAVEN 16 APRIL 2025 TODAY DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: BECOMING A VESSEL UNTO HONOUR

    MEMORISE
l indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
    Matthew 3:11

    READ: Luke 1:26-38
26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 16 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

After reading today’s topic, you may ask, how do I become a vessel unto honour? The simple answer is that you need the Holy Spirit.

In 1 Samuel 16:1:11-13, God told Samuel, “I am sending you to Jesse’s house because I want to raise a king there.” Jesse didn’t present David initially because the entire family believed that David was not the kind of person who could become a king. However, as soon as David came, God said, “That is him.” Samuel poured oil on David’s head, and the Bible says that the Spirit of God came upon him. When the Spirit of God came upon the shepherd boy, he became who God wanted him to be – a king.

God has a great plan for your life, but you need the power of the Holy Spirit over your life to fulfil it.

In I Samuel 10:6, Samuel told Saul that the Spirit of God would come on him and he would prophesy; the Spirit of God turned an ordinary boy into a prophet. In Judges 13:1-25, an angel told a woman that she was going to give birth to a son and that he would be a judge in Israel.

After that son was born, the Bible says that the Spirit of God began to move him. When the Spirit of God comes on someone, the fellow becomes who God says he or she will be. In today’s Bible reading, when the angel told Mary, “You will have a son, and He will be the son of the Highest,” she asked, “How can this be since I know no man?” The angel gave her the ultimate solution to impossible cases: The Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit came upon her, she did the impossible; she conceived God and birthed Him into the world. She became a vessel unto honour because the Holy Spirit came upon her.

Are you struggling with sin? Do you find it difficult to spend time in God’s presence?

Do you lack the fire and zeal to live a holy life? Do you keep going back to your vomit of addictions? Cry out for the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is symbolised as fire, and when fire visits a place, nothing remains the same. When the Holy Spirit came upon Saul, the persecutor, he was changed into Paul, the apostle.

Beloved, the Holy Spirit sanctifies vessels for the Father’s highest purposes, and you need Him to become a chosen vessel unto honour.

    PRAYER POINT:

Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on me and use me for Your glory.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    1 Kings 19-20

HYMN 23: TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 16 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Holy Spirit: The Divine Catalyst for Destiny

The devotional for today begins by establishing that human potential is unlocked only by the Holy Spirit’s empowerment. Key examples:

    • David (1 Samuel 16:13): A shepherd boy → Anointed king by the Spirit.
    • Saul (1 Samuel 10:6): An ordinary man → Transformed into a prophet.
    • Mary (Luke 1:35): A virgin → Chosen to birth the Messiah through the Spirit.

    Key Insight:

    • Natural gifting is insufficient for divine assignments. David’s musical skill (1 Samuel 16:18) didn’t make him king—the Spirit’s anointing did.

    Application:
Pray: “Holy Spirit, overshadow me as You did Mary, and birth Your purpose through me!”

    2. The Process of Becoming a Vessel of Honor

The Open heaven devotional for today outlines three stages of Spirit-led transformation:

    StageExampleModern Application
Divine SelectionDavid (1 Sam. 16:12)God calls the “unqualified” (1 Cor. 1:27-28).
Spirit InfillingSamson (Judges 13:25)Baptism in the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8).
Purpose FulfilmentPaul (Acts 9:17)From persecutor to apostle.

    Warning:

    • Without the Spirit, destiny remains dormant (Zechariah 4:6 – “Not by might nor by power”).

    3. The Holy Spirit’s Fire: Purifier and Empowerer

Today’s devotional emphasizes two works of the Spirit symbolized by fire:

    1. Sanctification (Purifying Fire):
      • Burns away sin (Isaiah 6:6-7 – Live coal purification).
      • Breaks addictions (Romans 8:13 – “Put to death the deeds of the body”).
    2. Empowerment (Igniting Fire):
      • Fuels boldness (Acts 4:31 – Disciples spoke with power).
      • Releases gifts (1 Corinthians 12:7-11 – Miracles, prophecy, etc.).

    Prayer Strategy:
“Lord, baptize me in Your fire! Purify me and empower me for Your glory.”

    4. Mary’s Model: Surrender to the Impossible

Mary’s response to the angel (Luke 1:34-38) reveals:

    • Human impossibility (“How can this be?”) meets divine possibility (“The Holy Spirit will come upon you”).
    • Key Attitude: “Let it be to me according to Your word” (v. 38).

    Modern Parallel:

    • Career: A “nobody” becomes a gospel influencer through the Spirit.
    • Family: A barren couple conceives after Spirit-led prayer.

    Action Step:
Write down one “impossible” dream. Ask the Spirit to overshadow it.

    5. Prophetic Declarations for Your Transformation

    The devotional closes with assurances:

    1. “Your ‘shepherd boy’ season is ending—kingship begins!”
    2. “Every addiction breaks now by the Spirit’s fire!”
    3. “You are a chosen vessel for God’s glory!”

    Stand on These Promises:

    • “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you” (Acts 1:8).
    • “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it” (Philippians 1:6).

Final Thought: Your Turn for an Upper Room

The disciples waited 10 days for Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4). Likewise:

    • Your “upper room” (prayer, fasting, surrender) precedes your empowerment.
    • Your “Paul moment” (radical transformation) is coming!

“The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in YOU (Romans 8:11). Expect resurrection power in every dead area!”

    Action Steps:

    1. Fast for 1 day this week, seeking fresh infilling.
    2. Study Acts 2 to understand Pentecostal power.
    3. Testify when the Spirit manifests through you.

    MEMORISE
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
    Galatians 6:7

    READ: 2 Corinthians 9:6-11
6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness
11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 15 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

One of my sons was in a church service, and the Lord told him to give an offering of N1,000, which was a lot of money in those days. He said, “Get behind me, satan,” and God replied,

“It is not satan, it is Me, and I am not going anywhere.” He kept trying to silence the voice that spoke to him, but the voice persisted. At last, he decided to give N500, just in case it was God. The next week, a woman came to his office and gave him N50,000. He was excited because it was a lot of money. As the woman was leaving, she turned back and said, “Sir, I’m sorry, but l have to confess this. I was actually supposed to give you N100,000, but something came up, and I had to spend N50,000 out of it.” Immediately he heard that, his excitement vanished. He realised that God wanted him to reap a harvest of N100,000, but he only sowed half of the seed that was required.

When we sow something little, we will reap something little in return (2 Corinthians 9:6, Luke 6:38). The harvest of a farmer who sows on hectares of land cannot be compared to that of a farmer who sows on a small piece of land in his backyard. Wise farmers reserve their best crops for sowing because they know that the quality of the seed is a major determinant of the quality of the harvest.

Only foolish fellows eat the best of their seeds. Whenever God blesses you, He puts the seed for the next season and the bread for the present season in that blessing. Always recognise your seed and sow it.

Seeds can be in the form of actions, service, or words. In 2 Kings 4:8-10, the great woman of Shunem sowed the seed of kindness to Elisha, and she reaped a bountiful harvest. Her decision to set aside a space for the man of God to rest whenever he passed by her town was a seed that yielded multiple harvests.

First, she reaped a harvest of fruitfulness after a long period of barrenness; then, she reaped a harvest of resurrection when her son suddenly died and was resurrected.

Lastly, she reaped a harvest of miraculous restoration after returning to her city following a seven-year famine to find that her land and house had been taken over (2 Kings 4:8-8:1-6).

I decree that all your good seeds will yield bountiful harvests, in Jesus’ name.

    ACTION POINT:

Plant a seed of kindness in somebody’s life today.

HYMN 30: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 15 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Principle of Proportional Harvest

The devotional for today opens with a powerful testimony illustrating the law of sowing and reaping:

    • The Son’s Partial Obedience:
      • Commanded to sow N1,000 → Sowed N500 → Reaped N50,000 (half of potential N100,000).
    • Divine Mathematics:
      • Seed: N1,000 → Harvest: N100,000 (100-fold return).
      • Seed: N500 → Harvest: N50,000 (same proportion, but lesser total).

    Key Insight:

    • Harvest size is determined by seed size (2 Corinthians 9:6).
    • Partial obedience = Limited harvest (1 Chronicles 21:24 – David refused “free” sacrifices).

    Application:
Identify one area where God is asking you to sow fully (finances, time, service).

    2. The Wisdom of Seed Preservation

The Open Heaven devotional for today highlights two types of farmers:

    1. The Wise:
      • “Reserve their best crops for sowing” Expectant of greater harvests.
    2. The Foolish:
      • “Eat the best of their seeds” Short-term satisfaction, long-term lack.

    Biblical Examples:

    • Joseph (Genesis 41:34-36): Stored grain in plenty for famine.
    • The Shunammite Woman (2 Kings 4:8-10): Sowed kindness → Reaped miracles.

    Warning:

    • Consuming your seed bankrupts your future (Haggai 1:6 – “You earn wages to put into a bag with holes”).

    Action Step:
Separate your “seed” (for sowing) from your “bread” (for consumption).

    3. The Diversity of Seeds

Today’s devotional expands seeding beyond money to include:

    Seed TypeExampleHarvest
    KindnessShunammite’s hospitalitySon’s resurrection (2 Kings 4:32-37)
ServiceDorcas’ garments (Acts 9:39)Church revival (Acts 9:42)
    WordsProphetic encouragementEternal impact (Proverbs 18:21)

    Modern Application:

    • Sow encouragement → Reap strengthened relationships.
    • Sow time in mentoring → Reap generational legacy.

    Prayer:
“Lord, open my eyes to recognize ‘non-financial’ seeds You want me to sow today.”

    4. The Shunammite’s Harvest Blueprint

The woman of Shunem (2 Kings 4-8) reaped threefold from one seed:

    1. Fruitfulness: A son after barrenness (4:16-17).
    2. Resurrection: Son raised from death (4:32-37).
    3. Restoration: Land returned after famine (8:1-6).

    Key Lesson:

    • One seed can yield layered harvests over time.
    • Divine timing: Her greatest miracle (resurrection) came after her seed seemed “spent.”

    Encouragement:

    • Don’t regret past seeds—their harvest may still be coming (Ecclesiastes 11:1).

    5. Prophetic Declarations for Your Harvest

    The devotional closes with decrees:

    1. “Every seed you’ve sown will yield unexpectedly!”
    2. “Your ‘Shunammite season’ of multiplied returns has come!”
    3. “No more seed-wasting in your life!”

    Stand on These Promises:

    • “God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you may have an abundance for every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8).
    • “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest shall not cease” (Genesis 8:22).

Final Thought: Your Seed is Your Future

The son’s story warns: Don’t negotiate with God’s sowing instructions.

    Action Steps:

    1. Obey promptly the next time God prompts you to sow (time, money, kindness).
    2. Journal past seeds and watch for their harvests.
    3. Testify when harvests manifest to strengthen others’ faith.

“Your harvest isn’t just about you. It’s a testimony that will inspire generations!”

Open Heaven 14 April 2025 Today Devotional: LIVE BY GOD'S WORD

OPEN HEAVEN 14 APRIL 2025 TODAY DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: LIVE BY GOD’S WORD

    MEMORISE
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
    Matthew 4:4

    READ: Matthew 4:1-11

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
    8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 14 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

When I joined RCCG, we never gave offerings; we were told to only pay our tithes. when I asked why, I was told that it was because the congregation was a mixture of sinners and Christians, and we didn’t want the money of sinners. wondered. “What about those of us who are christians:

The bible says give, and you shall be given (Luke 6:38).” Little wonder we all remained poor in those days. So, even though we were not giving offerings in church, I was giving offerings to the pastors privately.

Also, in those days, when we sang choruses, we never clapped. I asked why, and I was told it was because clapping is worldly. You could never even bring up the topic of beating drums. There was no guitar, no trumpet, or any other musical instrument except the organ.

Everything was solemn. However, I said, “The Bible says clap your hands all ye people (Psalm 47:1).” The first time we started clapping our hands in RCCG, the elders called a meeting to discuss it! You can imagine what happened when introduced drums and the guitar.

Sometimes, we allow the traditions of men to dictate how we should live instead of God’s word. God’s word is His perfect blueprint for every area of life, and when you follow His word, you will enjoy life abundantly. Those who fail to live according to God’s word will not experience the exceeding greatness of His power towards those who believe (Ephesians 1:19).

Jesus did not respond to the devil’s temptations according to the philosophies and traditions of men. He overcome them because He stood on what was written in God’s word (Matthew 4:1-11). He knew what was written and refused to live by anything less than that.

Do you know what is written? Do you know what God has said about your situation? Are you standing on God’s word or man’s report?

    Whose report will you believe?

When the twelve spies went into Canaan to spy on the land, ten of them stood on what they had seen; only Joshua and Caleb stood on God’s word (Numbers 13:26 – Numbers 14:9).

Truly, there were giants in the land, but God is greater than giants. It is true that the doctors can see sicknesses, but Jesus has paid the price for your health on the cross.

Beloved, make up your mind to live only by God’s word, and you will experience His exceeding power in all areas of your life.

    ACTION POINT:

Let God’s word guide you in everything.

    HYMN 3: ANCIENT WORDS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 14 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Danger of Man-Made Traditions

The Open Heaven devotional for today opens with Pastor Adeboye’s personal journey in RCCG, where human traditions once stifled biblical practices:

    • No Offerings: Misguided fear of “sinners’ money” contradicted Luke 6:38.
    • No Clapping/Drums: Labeled “worldly” despite Psalm 47:1.

    Key Insight:

    • Traditions become toxic when they override Scripture (Mark 7:8-9).
    • Result: Spiritual poverty (no offerings → no blessings) and joyless worship (no clapping → no celebration).

    Application:
Audit your spiritual practices: Are they Bible-based or tradition-bound?

    2. Jesus’ Model: Victory Through Scripture

In Matthew 4:1-11, Jesus countered Satan three times with:

    1. “It is written” (v. 4) → Rejecting compromise with God’s Word.
    2. “It is written” (v. 7) → Refusing to test God’s promises.
    3. “It is written” (v. 10) → Rebuking shortcuts to glory.

    Modern Parallels:

    • Health: Believing Isaiah 53:5 over medical reports.
    • Finance: Trusting Philippians 4:19 over economic forecasts.

    Action Step:
Memorize 3 Scriptures to combat your current battles.

    3. The Spies’ Report: Giants vs. God’s Promise

Today’s devotional contrasts two responses to Canaan:

    • 10 Spies: “We can’t” (Numbers 13:31-33) → Focused on giants.
    • Joshua & Caleb: “We can” (Numbers 14:7-9) → Focused on God’s promise.

    Key Lesson:

    • Your confession reveals your foundation (Proverbs 18:21).
    • Tradition says “play it safe”; faith says “possess the land.”

    Prayer:
“Lord, silence every ‘giant-focused’ voice in my life. Align my speech with Your Word!”

    4. The Power of Living by Scripture

    AreaTradition’s LieGod’s TruthResult
Worship“Drums are worldly”“Praise Him with timbrel” (Psalm 150:4)Joyful freedom
    Giving“Don’t take sinners’ money”“God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor. 9:7)Abundance
Healing“Accept your sickness”“By His stripes you are healed” (1 Pet. 2:24)Divine health

    Warning:

    • Traditions often disguise fear as piety (e.g., RCCG’s early resistance to clapping).

    5. Prophetic Declarations for Word-Based Living

The devotional for today closes with charges to:

    1. Study Scripture Daily (Joshua 1:8) → “Good success” follows.
    2. Reject Defeatist Reports (Numbers 13:30) → Like Caleb, claim your Canaan.
    3. Speak God’s Word Boldly (Matthew 4:4) → Demons flee.

    Stand on These Promises:

    • “The Word of God is living and powerful” (Hebrews 4:12).
    • “No word from God will ever fail” (Luke 1:37).

Final Thought: Your Life, God’s Blueprint

Daddy Adeboye’s reforms in RCCG prove:

    • When Scripture trumps tradition, revival follows.
    • Your breakthrough begins where your obedience does.

“God’s Word isn’t a suggestion—it’s your constitution. Live by it!”

    Action Steps:

    1. Identify one tradition in your life that contradicts Scripture and correct it.
    2. Replace fear-based practices with Word-based ones (e.g., clap if Psalm 47:1 says so!).
    3. Testify when God’s Word brings freedom.

    TOPIC: LEARN OF ME

    MEMORISE
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
    Matthew 11:29

    READ: Psalm 25:9-10

10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 13 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus invites those who are burdened to come to Him so that they can find rest. However, He said that when they come, they should take up His yoke and learn of Him. It is possible for God to give you rest and bless you so much that you will say, “Lord, this is too much.” However, you must submit completely to Him and learn of Him.

Joshua 1:8 says that when the book of the law does not depart from your mouth, you will have good success. Study your Bible diligently so that you can truly learn God’s ways. Once you know His ways and follow Him, you will begin to bear fruits in every area of your life.

In Deuteronomy 28:1-2, the Bible says that if you hearken diligently to God’s word and observe to do all He commands, blessings will pursue and overtake you. Become addicted to God’s word such that when you face any situation, the first thing that will come to your mind is, “What does the Bible say about this kind of situation?” God’s word shows us His will concerning every situation, and this should be the basis of our decisions

Jesus said that when you come to learn of Him, you must note that He is meek and lowly.

Those who will learn of the Master must also have meek and lowly hearts; they must be teachable. Pride makes people puffed up and become full of unnecessary weights and burdens. To learn God’s ways and enjoy good success, you must be willing to overlook many things and obey His instructions even when they seem foolish. God’s ways are different from the ways of man (Isaiah 55:8-9).

When God asked Moses to stretch his rod over the Red Sea as the Egyptian army closed in on the Israelites, it looked like a foolish move, but Moses obeyed because he was a meek man (Exodus 14:16, Numbers 12:3). You cannot be set in your ways and expect God to lead you into good success. In Psalm 32:8, God promises to lead and guide His people, but in the next verse, He warns them not to be like the horse or the mule that must be led with ropes before they can obey.

Beloved, God cannot lead you into good success if you are like a horse that is so fast and doesn’t wait for instructions or a mule that is so stubborn that it won’t move until it is beaten.

    KEY POINT:

God wants to give you good success, but you must first submit to Him, learn of Him, and obey Him always.

HYMN 23: TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 13 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Invitation to Divine Rest

The Open Heaven devotional for today begins with Jesus’ revolutionary offer in Matthew 11:28-30:

    • Not just rest from burdens, but rest through apprenticeship (“learn from Me“).
    • The paradox: Taking His “yoke” (often seen as restrictive) actually brings freedom.

    Key Insight:

    • Worldly success exhausts; Kingdom success refreshes.
    • Example: Moses’ meekness (Numbers 12:3) → Enabled him to obey “foolish” commands (Exodus 14:16).

    Application:
Identify one area of stress (e.g., career, parenting). Ask: “What would Jesus’ yoke look like here?”

    2. The Curriculum of Christlikeness

To “learn of Him” means studying:

    1. His Meekness (v. 29):
      • Power under control (unlike worldly aggression).
    2. His Lowliness (v. 29):
      • Teachability (vs. pride that resists correction).

    Biblical Case Study:

    • Moses vs. Pharaoh:
      • Meek Moses obeyed God’s rod-over-sea instruction → Deliverance.
      • Proud Pharaoh hardened his heart → Destruction.

    Warning:

    • Stubbornness = Self-sabotage (Psalm 32:9 – Don’t be a “mule”).

    Prayer:
“Lord, break my addiction to self-reliance. Make me a lifelong learner of Your ways.”

    3. The Textbook for Success: God’s Word

Today’s devotional highlights non-negotiable habits for victory:

    HabitPromiseScripture
    Scripture Meditation“Good success”Joshua 1:8
    Obedience“Blessings will overtake you”Deuteronomy 28:1-2
Instant Biblical Recall“What does the Bible say?”Psalm 119:11

    Modern Example:

    • A businessman facing ethical dilemmas consults Proverbs daily → Divine favor on deals.

    Action Step:
Memorize one verse this week to apply to a current challenge.

    4. The Danger of Unnecessary Burdens

    Jesus’ yoke is easy because:

    • It replaces:
      • Anxiety with trust (Philippians 4:6).
      • Striving with surrender (John 15:5).
    • It requires:
      • Letting go of pride (James 4:6).
      • Embracing “foolish” obedience (1 Corinthians 1:25).

    Illustration:

    • The Red Sea Crossing:
      • Human logic said “fight or flee”; God said “stand and stretch” (Exodus 14:13-16).
      • Meekness obeyed → Miracle followed.

    5. Prophetic Promises for the Teachable

    The devotional for today assures:

    1. “Your rest is found in His yoke, not your efforts.”
    2. “Your success is guaranteed by His Word, not your IQ.”
    3. “Your breakthroughs will defy logic when you obey like Moses.”

    Stand on These Truths:

    • “The meek will He guide in judgment, and the meek will He teach His way.” (Psalm 25:9).
    • “All things work together for good to those who love God” (Romans 8:28) → Even “foolish” obedience.

Final Thought: The Yoke That Lifts

    Jesus’ yoke isn’t a burden. It’s a divine partnership:

    • His strength + your surrender = unstoppable grace.
    • His wisdom + your meekness = uncommon success.

“The world’s yoke drains you; Christ’s yoke empowers you. Which will you carry?”

    Action Steps:

    1. Journal areas where you’ve relied on human wisdom. Repent and take His yoke.
    2. Study Jesus’ actions in the Gospels (e.g., Matthew 21:1-7 – donkey miracle) to learn His ways.
    3. Share a testimony of when obedience brought rest amid chaos.

“Your greatest success begins where your stubbornness ends!”

OPEN HEAVEN 12 APRIL 2025 TODAY DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: CHOOSE YOUR PARTNERS WISELY

    MEMORISE
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
    Psalm 1:1

    READ: 2 Chronicles 20:35-37

35 And after this did Jehoshaphat king of Judah join himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly:
36 And he joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the ships in Eziongaber.
37 Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the Lord hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 12 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Where you sow will determine what you will reap. In the parable of the sower, four soils were identified, but only one brought forth harvests; the other three soils yielded nothing (Mark 4:3-8). I pray for you today; you will not sow on barren soils, in Jesus’ name.

A barren soil can be a person, an organisation, or even a house. Some people move into a new house, and everything that was working for them suddenly stops working. Some get into a new relationship or start a new business partnership, and everything they have built over the years crumbles.

Jehoshaphat is an example of a fellow who entered into partnerships with people who were barren soils. Even though he was a righteous man, he entered into relationships with ungodly people. First, he became friends with Ahab, a sinful and wicked king, and almost lost his life in battle, but for God’s intervention (1 Kings 22:1-33). Then, as we read in today’s Bible reading, he joined himself with Ahab’s son, Ahaziah, another wicked king, and together, they made ships to go to Tarshish. The ships were destroyed, and the planned voyage failed because Jehoshaphat was partnering with someone who was a barren soil.

Who you partner with in life and destiny matters a lot. If you partner with a wicked man, your efforts will be wasted because God is angry with the wicked every day (Psalm 7:11). I pray for you; may you never partner with someone who is marked for destruction by heaven. May your efforts not be destroyed because of the partnerships you make, in Jesus name.

A disobedient fellow is another dangerous person to partner with. When you partner with such a person, you are sowing on concrete ground because disobedience shuts the heavens over a person. Jonah is an example of such a fellow; he put the people on the ship he boarded to Tarshish in trouble because of his disobedience. Although they didn’t lose their lives, they lost their properties because of one disobedient passenger (Jonah 1:1-5). When you join yourself to a disobedient person, you will suffer losses. In the name above every other name, I pray that you will be disconnected from every disobedient person who will make you suffer for what you know nothing about.

    PRAYER POINT:

Father, please help me not to associate with unfruitful partners.

HYMN 33: GUIDE ME, O THOU GREAT JEHOVAH!

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 12 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Principle of Spiritual Soil

The devotional for today opens with Jesus’ parable of the sower (Mark 4:3-8), emphasizing that your harvest depends on where you sow. Four soils represent:

    1. Barren Relationships (Path): Partnerships that crush your destiny (e.g., Jehoshaphat & Ahab).
    2. Shallow Connections (Rocky): Fair-weather friends who abandon you in trials.
    3. Choking Alliances (Thorns): Associations that prioritize wealth over God (Mark 4:19).
    4. Fruitful Covenants (Good Ground): God-ordained relationships that multiply your grace.

    Key Insight:

    • Ungodly partnerships corrupt godly destinies (1 Corinthians 15:33).

    Application:
Audit your inner circle: Are your relationships “good ground” for your growth?

    2. Jehoshaphat’s Warning: The Cost of Bad Partnerships

Open Heaven devotional for today analyzes two fatal alliances in Jehoshaphat’s life:

    1. With Ahab (1 Kings 22):
      • Nearly cost him his life in battle (v. 34).
    2. With Ahaziah (2 Chronicles 20:35-37):
      • Divine judgment destroyed their joint venture.

    Why God Intervened:

    • Jehoshaphat was righteous but reckless in partnerships.
    • Lesson: “Can two walk together unless they are agreed?” (Amos 3:3).

    Modern Parallels:

    • Business: A Christian entrepreneur partners with a fraudster → Loses everything.
    • Marriage: A believer weds an unbeliever → Spiritual stagnation (2 Corinthians 6:14).

    3. Identifying Barren Soils

Today’s devotional lists two types of dangerous partners:

    a) The Wicked (Marked for Destruction)

    • Traits: Habitual sin, no repentance (Psalm 7:11).
    • Example: Ahab’s idolatry (1 Kings 21:25-26).
    • Result: Their judgment spills onto you (Joshua 7:1-26 – Achan’s sin affected Israel).

    b) The Disobedient (Heaven-Closed)

    • Traits: Ignores God’s Word (Jonah 1:1-3).
    • Example: Jonah’s rebellion endangered sailors (Jonah 1:4-5).
    • Result: Their storms become yours.

    Action Step:
Pray: “Lord, expose any ‘barren soil’ relationships in my life.”

    4. How to Cultivate Fruitful Partnerships

    Bad SoilGood Soil AlternativeScripture
    Wicked friendsGod-fearing mentorsProverbs 13:20
    Disobedient alliesPrayerful partnersActs 2:42
    Unequally yokedSpirit-led relationships2 Corinthians 6:14

    Prayer Strategy:
“Father, connect me with destiny helpers who fear You. Sever ties that hinder my growth!”

    5. Prophetic Declarations for Divine Connections

    The devotional closes with prayers:

    1. “You will not sow on barren soils!”
    2. “Every Ahaziah in your life is exposed and removed!”
    3. “Your ‘good ground’ partnerships are revealed today!”

    Stand on These Promises:

    • “The righteous should choose his friends carefully” (Proverbs 12:26).
    • “He who walks with wise men will be wise” (Proverbs 13:20).

Final Thought: Your Network Determines Your Net Worth

Jehoshaphat’s legacy was marred by two bad partnerships, but yours won’t be!

“Show me your friends, and I’ll show you your future. Choose wisely!”

    Action Steps:

    1. List your top 5 influencers. Assess their spiritual impact on you.
    2. Fast for discernment to confirm/cancel key relationships.
    3. Initiate godly alliances (join a small group, seek mentors).

“A single God-ordained connection can catapult you into destiny. Pray for one today!”
