OPEN HEAVEN 26 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: MIGHTY IN BATTLE

    MEMORISE
Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
    Psalm 24:8

    READ: 2 Chronicles 20:1-30
It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.
5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court,

6 And said, O Lord God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
7 Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?
8 And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,
9 If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
    10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;

11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
13 And all Judah stood before the Lord, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
    14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation;
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

16 To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.
18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord.
19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high.
20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.
22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.
25 And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much.

26 And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the Lord: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day.
27 Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the Lord had made them to rejoice over their enemies.
28 And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the Lord.
29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the Lord fought against the enemies of Israel.
30 So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 26 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

In Psalm 24:7-10, God is described as the King of glory, the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle, and the Lord of hosts. In Psalm 107:20, the Bible says that He sent His word to deliver the Israelites from their troubles. It doesn’t matter how big the opposition you are facing is, the One who is mighty in battle will give you a great victory.

Jesus said in John 14:6 that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In John 8:32, He said that you shall know the truth, and it shall make you free. If you are facing an enemy that appears to be greater than you, my advice is that you surrender your life completely to Jesus now.

Once He makes you free, you are free indeed, and no one can oppress you again. In Luke 11:21-22, He said that the only way anyone can steal the goods of a strong man is if he or she is stronger. Since there is no one stronger than God, once you are surrendered to Him and have become His child, no one can take you from Him. This is why Jesus said in John 10:29:

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

In today’s Bible reading, when Jehoshaphat was attacked on every side by the Ammonites, the Moabites, and the inhabitants of Mount Seir, he called on the One who is mighty in battle. The instruction he received was, “Just praise me,” and he obeyed. He and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem and Judah fell before the Mighty Man in battle in worship. Nobody escaped after the Mighty Man in battle set Jehoshaphat’s enemies against one another.

All Jehoshaphat and his men had to do was gather abundant spoils because the Lord made them rejoice over their enemies. I decree today that any gang or group that comes to attack you will help to utterly destroy one another; the Mighty One in battle will set your enemies against themselves, in Jesus’ name. In the name above every other name, none of your enemies will escape the sword of the Mighty One in battle.

Beloved, surrender totally to Jesus today if you are yet to do so. He is the Almighty, and He never loses a war. When you surrender, you give Him room to fight your battles for you, just as He fought Jehoshaphat’s and gave him victory.

    PRAYER POINT

Mighty One in battle, I surrender to You today. Please fight all my battles for me, in Jesus’ name.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    1 Samuel 15-16

HYMN 1: ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 26 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

Today’s devotional centers on God’s supremacy in battle – His unmatched power to fight for His people and secure victory in impossible situations. Let’s break it down.

    1. The Lord Strong and Mighty (Psalm 24:8, 2 Chronicles 20:1-30)

The opening verse (Psalm 24:8) declares God as “the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.” This is not just poetic language. It is a revelation of His nature. Unlike human warriors, God never loses a fight.

    • He is the King of Glory. His presence alone shakes the forces of darkness (Psalm 24:7-10).
    • He is the Lord of Hosts (Yahweh Sabaoth). Commander of angelic armies (1 Samuel 17:45).
    • He does not just assist in battle- He is the battle itself (Exodus 14:14).

When facing overwhelming opposition, remind yourself: “This battle is not mine, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15).

    2. Surrender as the Key to Victory (John 14:6, John 8:32, John 10:29)

The Open Heaven devotional emphasizes total surrender to Jesus as the foundation for divine intervention.

    • Jesus is the Way, Truth, and Life (John 14:6). Victory begins with submitting to His lordship.
    • Truth brings freedom (John 8:32). Many battles are spiritual strongholds; only Christ’s truth breaks chains.
    • No one can snatch you from God (John 10:29). Once you belong to Him, no enemy can claim ultimate authority over you.

Just as a soldier under a mighty general need not fear defeat, a believer under Jehovah Nissi (The Lord Our Banner, Exodus 17:15) cannot be conquered.

If you’re facing oppression, ask: “Have I fully surrendered this battle to Christ?”

    3. The Jehoshaphat Strategy: Worship as Warfare (2 Chronicles 20:1-30)

The story of Jehoshaphat provides a kingdom blueprint for victory:

    1. Recognize the impossibility (v. 12). He admitted, “We have no power… nor do we know what to do.”
    2. Seek God’s presence, not just His help (v. 3-4). Fasting and prayer preceded the breakthrough.
    3. Obey unconventional instructions (v. 21). God said, “Praise Me,” and they worshipped before the fight was won.
    4. Watch God fight for you (v. 22-23). The enemies turned on each other.
    5. Reap the spoils (v. 25). Their obedience led to overwhelming abundance.

Key Lesson: Praise is a weapon. When you magnify God above your crisis, He dismantles the enemy’s strategy.

In your battles, replace panic with praise. Declare God’s greatness even before the victory is visible.

    4. The Decree: Enemies Will Self-Destruct

The devotional for today ends with a prophetic declaration:

“Any gang or group that comes to attack you will help to utterly destroy one another.”

This is a kingdom authority based on:

    • Divine reversal (Esther 9:1 – The Jews’ enemies were destroyed by their own plans).
    • God’s judicial confusion (Judges 7:22 – Midianites killed each other).
    • The blood covenant (Exodus 12:23 – The destroyer passed over God’s people).

Faith Response: Stand on Psalm 91:7 – “A thousand may fall at your side, but it will not come near you.”

Final Exhortation: Total Dependence on Christ

“Surrender totally to Jesus”. It is the ultimate key.

    • Human strength fails; divine strength never does (Zechariah 4:6).
    • God’s victories often require our stillness (Psalm 46:10).
    • Your testimony is waiting on the other side of obedience (Revelation 12:11).

    Prayer Focus:
“Lord, I surrender every battle to You. You are the Mighty One in battle—fight for me as I worship You. Let my enemies scatter, and let my life glorify Your name. Amen.”

    Conclusion

This devotional is a battle cry for believers:

    1. Acknowledge God’s supremacy over every force.
    2. Surrender completely. He cannot lose.
    3. Fight with praise, not fear.
    4. Expect divine intervention, your enemies will not escape.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14)

Stand firm. The King of Glory is on your side. Hallelujah!

Open Heaven Devotional 25 March 2025: THE GREAT PHYSICIAN

OPEN HEAVEN 25 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: THE GREAT PHYSICIAN

    MEMORISE
    Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
    Psalm 103:3

    READ: Luke 4:37-40
37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 25 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

God is the Great Physician. In Exodus 15:26, He said, “…I am the Lord that healeth thee.” The Bible says that He sent His word and healed them (Psalm 107:20). He is the God of all flesh, and nothing is too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:27).

Some diseases are termed incurable, but for God, no disease is incurable. Even if a damaged body part is deemed irreparable, He can replace it. While earthly physicians refer cases to each other when they cannot handle them, the Great Physician never refers a case – He is a specialist in all fields of medicine.

Years ago, a wealthy chief, who became paralysed from the waist downwards, was taken to the best hospital in London. After trying their best and he didn’t get better, the doctors gave up. To prove the hopelessness of his case, the head surgeon drove a long pin through the chief’s thigh, and when the latter felt no pain, he told him, “Go home, stop wasting your money, you will never walk again.”

The chief was taken back home, and a young girl, who is a member of RCCG, witnessed to him and said, “If you can get to my G.O., you will walk again.” The chief was brought to Redemption City, and because he had a big stature, six hefty men had to carry him into my living room. I told him my God can change the doctors’ report and that if he surrendered his life to Jesus, things would change. He surrendered his life to Jesus, we prayed, and he walked back to his car!

What renowned medical specialists termed impossible took God only a few seconds to do!

I have seen God turn hopeless cases into great testimonies. Thave seen Him step into sorrowful rooms as a result of the death of loved ones and turn them into places of joy and laughter. I have seen Him do the impossible, and your case will not be different; just believe in Him because all things are possible to him that believes (Mark 9:23). He turned around the 12-year-old case of the woman with the issue of blood in a second (Luke 8:44). Lazarus’ four-day-old dead body didn’t take him hours to resurrect (John 11:43-44). The man at the pool of Bethesda with the 38-year-old infirmity received instant healing (John 5:1-9).

If you have any sicknesses or diseases in your body, I pray that the Great Physician will step in and turn things around immediately, in Jesus’ name.

    KEY POINT

There is no hopeless case with the Great Physician.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    1 Samuel 13-14

HYMN 25: THE GREAT PHYSICIANS NOW IS NEAR

OPEN HEAVEN 25 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

Today’s devotional centers on God’s sovereignty as the Great Physician – the ultimate healer who transcends human limitations. Let’s break down its key themes and applications for a mature Christian’s understanding.

    1. God’s Authority Over All Sickness (Psalm 103:3, Exodus 15:26)

The Open Heaven devotional for today opens with a foundational truth: God is the source of all healing. Unlike human doctors, whose knowledge and abilities are limited, God’s power is infinite (Jeremiah 32:27). The Bible repeatedly affirms that He is Jehovah Rapha—”the Lord who heals.” This means:

    • No disease is beyond His ability to cure.
    • Even when medical science declares a case hopeless, God can reverse it.
    • Healing is not just physical but holistic—spiritual, emotional, and relational.

    2. The Limitations of Human Medicine vs. God’s Omnipotence (Luke 4:37-40)

The story of the paralyzed chief illustrates a stark contrast:

    • Human expertise has boundaries—the best doctors in London declared his condition irreversible.
    • God specializes in the impossible—what man calls “incurable,” God calls an opportunity for a miracle.
    • Faith activates divine intervention—the chief’s surrender to Christ opened the door for his healing.

This aligns with Jesus’ ministry in Luke 4, where He healed all who came to Him, proving that no sickness resists His authority.

    3. Biblical Precedents of Instantaneous Miracles (Luke 8:44, John 5:1-9, John 11:43-44)

The devotional for today references several biblical miracles to reinforce that:

    • Time is irrelevant to God—whether an illness lasted 12 years (the woman with the issue of blood) or 38 years (the man at Bethesda), healing came in a moment.
    • Death is not a barrier—Lazarus’ resurrection after four days proves God’s power even over irreversible conditions.
    • Faith is the key—Jesus often linked miracles to belief (Mark 9:23).

    4. Personal Application: Trusting God in Hopeless Situations

For believers, this is a call to:

    • Reject despair– no matter how long you’ve suffered, God can intervene suddenly.
    • Embrace faith – like the chief, surrender fully to Christ and trust His power.
    • Expect testimonies – just as the Daddy E.A. Adeboye has witnessed miracles, your case can also become a praise report.

    Final Thought

While we thank God for medical advancements, we must never elevate them above divine power. The Great Physician never refers a case because He has no limitations. Your healing may come through medicine, miracles, or even in eternity – but one thing is certain: God is able. Stand on His Word, hold fast to faith, and watch Him turn your impossibility into a testimony.

“But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” (Matthew 19:26)

May today’s devotional guide strengthen your faith and remind you that nothing is too hard for the Lord!

    MEMORISE
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
    James 1:17

    READ: Genesis 8:22
22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 24 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

As conclude my discussion on constants and variables, I will attempt to describe them as a mathematician. In mathematics, constants are numbers or quantities that remain at a fixed value throughout a given discussion, while variables are unstable and are dependent on other factors. God is the only consistent constant throughout eternity, and with Him, there is no variableness or shadow of turning (James 1:17).

Having discussed His word as one of His constant qualities yesterday, I will identify and explore three more absolute constants about Him, and these are: His principles, His love, and His mercy.

God’s principles are His ways of doing things. and they are constant. They are His standards, and they can never change. One of God’s principles for marriage is that it is honourable unto all, and the bed should be undefiled before marriage (Hebrews 13:4). If He says that people should get married before they have sex, that principle remains, it will not change because the world has changed or because government laws have changed to accommodate immorality. God’s principles remain firm and constant now and always.

Another principle of marriage is that it is between a man and a woman, and from the first couple and throughout the bible, we see God maintain this standard. God’s principle is that a man should leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife (Genesis 2:24). Likewise, God’s principle of sowing and reaping remains constant.

Anyone who applies this principle will reap its harvest. God has principles for every aspect of life, and anyone who wants to enjoy His full blessings must learn to live by His principles. His foundation is sure, but you must depart from iniquity to partake of His blessings (2 Timothy 2:19).

God’s mercy and steadfast love are constant.

For example, because of His constant love and mercy towards man, He does not want anyone to perish (1 Timothy 2:4). God’s love for you is constant (1 Corinthians 13:8). His steadfast love never ceases, and His mercies never come to an end – they are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). If you experienced an overload of mercy yesterday, expect a fresh dose today because God gives new mercies every morning – He daily loads His beloved with benefits (Psalm 68:19).

Beloved, God is an absolute constant and you can totally rely on Him. Trust Him with all your heart, and He will be an anchor for your soul in the midst of life’s uncertainties (Hebrews 6:19).

    KEY POINT

Everything may fail and change, but God’s principles and steadfast love stand sure.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    1 Samuel 8-12

    HYMN 5: BLESSED ASSURANCE

OPEN HEAVEN 24 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

Today’s devotional offers a profound reflection on the unchanging nature of God, drawing a parallel between mathematical constants and the divine attributes of God. Let’s break it down.

    1. Memorise: James 1:17

The verse states, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” This foundational truth reminds us that God is immutable – He does not change. His nature, character, and promises remain constant, unlike the shifting circumstances of our lives. This verse anchors the devotional, emphasizing that God is the ultimate “constant” in a world filled with variables.

    2. Bible Reading: Genesis 8:22

This verse highlights God’s faithfulness in maintaining the natural order: “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.” Here, God establishes a constant rhythm in creation, reflecting His unchanging nature. Just as the seasons and cycles of life are dependable, so is God’s faithfulness.

    3. God as the Ultimate Constant

The Open Heaven devotional for today uses the analogy of mathematical constants to illustrate God’s unchanging nature. In a world where variables—circumstances, emotions, relationships, and even societal norms—are unstable, God remains the same. This truth is a source of immense comfort and stability for believers. No matter what changes around us, we can rely on God’s unchanging character, promises, and principles.

    4. God’s Principles Are Constant

The devotional for today identifies God’s principles as one of His unchanging attributes. These principles are His standards for life, rooted in His holiness and wisdom. For example, the principles of marriage—honor, fidelity, and the union of a man and a woman – are unchanging, regardless of cultural shifts or societal pressures. This challenges believers to align their lives with God’s standards, even when it contradicts the world’s values. Living by God’s principles ensures that we walk in His blessings and avoid the consequences of disobedience (2 Timothy 2:19).

    5. God’s Love and Mercy Are Constant

The devotional emphasizes that God’s love and mercy are unwavering. His love is not conditional or fleeting; it is steadfast and eternal (1 Corinthians 13:8). His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23), meaning that no matter how we fail or fall short, God’s compassion and forgiveness are always available to us. This is a powerful reminder of His grace, which sustains us daily.

The Open Heaven for today concludes with an exhortation to trust in God’s constancy. In a world filled with uncertainties, God is our anchor (Hebrews 6:19). We are encouraged to rely on Him completely, knowing that He will never fail us. This trust is not passive but active—it involves living by His principles, embracing His love, and receiving His mercy daily.

    6. Practical Takeaways

    1. Anchor Your Life in God’s Unchanging Nature
When life feels unstable, remind yourself of God’s constancy. Meditate on Scriptures like James 1:17 and Hebrews 13:8 (“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever”). Let these truths ground you in faith.
    2. Align Your Life with God’s Principles
Evaluate your choices and actions in light of God’s unchanging standards. Are you living in accordance with His Word, or are you being swayed by cultural trends? Commit to living a life that honors Him, even when it’s difficult.
    3. Receive His Love and Mercy Daily
No matter what you’ve done or what you’re facing, God’s love and mercy are available to you. Start each day by acknowledging His new mercies and thanking Him for His steadfast love.
    4. Be a Reflection of God’s Constancy
As a Christian, strive to reflect God’s unchanging nature in your relationships and interactions. Be a person of integrity, faithfulness, and love, pointing others to the constancy of God.

    Conclusion

Today’s devotional beautifully reminds us that God is the only true constant in a world of variables. His principles, love, and mercy are unchanging, providing a firm foundation for our lives. As we trust in His constancy, we can navigate life’s uncertainties with confidence and peace. Let this truth inspire you to live a life rooted in His Word, guided by His principles, and sustained by His love and mercy.

    Isaiah 55:11

    READ: Hebrews 4:12-13
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 23 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

In a world of constantly changing laws and policies, God can be trusted to remain an absolute constant, as l discussed yesterday. His words, principles, and actions are consistent, and they can never change. When politicians campaign for political offices, they make numerous promises, some of which they often fail to fulfil. God is never like that; His promises are constant, and His deeds can be absolutely trusted.

Many things are constant about God; I will discuss one today – His word – and three more tomorrow. God’s word existed before the world began, and it will remain long after the earth passes away (John 1:1). If He makes you a promise and you play your part as He requires, no matter how long it takes, He will surely fulfil it.

One day, I was praying, and God said, “Son, presidents will come to the camp to worship.” At that time, it seemed impossible, but Daddy said it, and as far as l was concerned, it was settled already. Therefore, with faith, we built a presidential lodge immediately, and it was the biggest building in the camp (now Redemption City) back then.

Three years passed, and when no president came, some senior pastors said to me, “Daddy, you are our president. Why don’t you move into the presidential lodge?” They didn’t fully understand why we built the presidential lodge, and they felt that I wanted to live in a big house but didn’t know how to tell them.

I told them, “No! That’s not my house. It’s for presidents; they will come.” Of course, presidents have come and are still coming.

No matter how long it takes, God’s word and promises will come to pass.

According to today’s memory verse, the potency of God’s word is constant; no word that comes out of His mouth will return to Him void. This means that you can claim whatever you see in the Scriptures, and you will receive it if you believe. For example, Deuteronomy 28:13 says that you shall be the head and not the tail. If you believe this, then you will indeed be the head. 1 Peter 2:24 says that you have been healed by His stripes. If you believe this, then sickness has no place in your body.

Situations may vary, but God’s word is constant. No matter how bad a situation appears to be, God can turn it around for good because His word is living and powerful, and that will never change.

    KEY POINT

Your situation is a variable, but God’s word is constant. His word never fails.

    HYMN 3: ANCIENT WORDS

OPEN HEAVEN 23 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

The Open Heaven devotional for today is a powerful reminder of the reliability and potency of God’s Word. It emphasizes that God’s promises are unchanging and that His Word is living, active, and able to accomplish His purposes. Let’s break it down:

    1. MEMORISE: Isaiah 55:11

Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” This verse is a cornerstone of faith, affirming that God’s Word is never empty or ineffective. It always fulfills its purpose. This truth reassures us that when God speaks, His promises are guaranteed to come to pass, no matter how long it takes or how impossible it may seem.

    2. BIBLE READING: Hebrews 4:12-13

This passage describes the power and precision of God’s Word. It says that “the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”This highlights several key truths about God’s Word:

    • It is Alive: God’s Word is not static; it is dynamic and active in the lives of believers.
    • It is Powerful: It has the ability to transform lives, bring healing, and fulfill God’s purposes.
    • It is Discerning: It reveals the deepest thoughts and intentions of the heart, bringing conviction and clarity.

This passage reinforces the devotional’s message that God’s Word is constant, reliable, and capable of producing results.

    3. The Unchanging Nature of God’s Word

Today’s devotional contrasts the inconsistency of human promises, such as those made by politicians, with the absolute reliability of God’s Word. Unlike humans, who often fail to fulfill their promises, God’s Word is constant and trustworthy. This is a powerful reminder that we can place our full confidence in God’s promises, knowing that He will never fail us.

The devotional also emphasizes that God’s Word existed before creation (John 1:1) and will endure forever. This eternal nature of God’s Word means that His promises are not limited by time or circumstances. If He has spoken a promise, it will come to pass, even if it takes years or seems impossible in the natural realm.

    4. The Testimony of Faith

The author shares a personal testimony of how God spoke to him about presidents coming to worship at the camp. Despite the seeming impossibility of this promise, the author acted in faith by building a presidential lodge. For three years, there was no sign of presidents coming, and some questioned the decision. However, the author held on to God’s Word, and eventually, presidents began to come.

This testimony illustrates several important principles:

    • Faith in God’s Word: The author believed God’s promise even when it seemed impossible.
    • Patience and Perseverance: He waited for three years without giving up, trusting that God’s Word would come to pass.
    • Obedience: He acted on God’s Word by building the lodge, demonstrating his faith through action.

This story encourages us to trust in God’s promises, even when we don’t see immediate results. It reminds us that God’s timing is perfect and that His Word will always come to pass.

    5. The Potency of God’s Word

The devotional guide for today highlights the potency of God’s Word, as stated in Isaiah 55:11. It emphasizes that God’s Word is not just a collection of ancient texts but a living and powerful force that can transform lives and circumstances. The devotional encourages readers to claim the promises in Scripture, such as:

    • Deuteronomy 28:13: “You shall be the head and not the tail.”
    • 1 Peter 2:24: “By His stripes, you were healed.”

These promises are not just theoretical; they are practical and applicable to our lives. If we believe and act on them, we will see their fulfillment.

    6. Key Message: Trust in God’s Word

The key message of the devotional is that God’s Word is constant, powerful, and trustworthy. It challenges us to:

    • Believe in God’s Promises: No matter how impossible a situation may seem, God’s Word can turn it around.
    • Act in Faith: Like the author, we are to act on God’s Word, even when it requires patience and perseverance.
    • Claim Scripture: We are to take God’s promises personally and believe that they apply to our lives.

This devotional serves as both a reminder and a call to action:

    • Reminder: God’s Word is unchanging and powerful. It is our ultimate source of truth and guidance in a world of uncertainty.
    • Call to Action: We are to actively trust in God’s promises, claim them in faith, and act on them, even when the results are not immediately visible.

    Conclusion

The Open Heaven for today is a powerful affirmation of the reliability and potency of God’s Word. It reminds us that God’s promises are constant and that His Word will always accomplish its purpose. Whether we are facing challenges, waiting for breakthroughs, or simply navigating the uncertainties of life, we can trust in God’s Word to guide us and fulfill His promises. Let us hold on to His Word with faith, patience, and obedience, knowing that it will never return void. As we do so, we will see His promises come to pass in our lives, bringing glory to His name

Open Heaven Devotional 22 March 2025: CONSTANT vs VARIABLES I

OPEN HEAVEN 22 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: CONSTANT vs VARIABLES I

    MEMORISE
For l am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
    Malachi 3:6

    READ: Lamentations 3:22-26
22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 22 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

We live in a world of constants and variables.
For example, the heights and weights of humans are variables as they differ between individuals. Wealth is also a variable because some people are rich while some are poor.

Even among the rich, wealth remains a variable because a fellow can have riches today, and it could all be gone tomorrow (Proverbs 23:5).

In contrast, constants represent things that never change. For instance, men do not get pregnant and give birth.

In life also, we have variable constants; these are things that are supposed to be constant but can be subject to changes. For example, adults are supposed to have 32 teeth, but if you check, you may find that some adults have less than 32 teeth. Ecclesiastes 12:3 says that the grinders become few with age, which is the Bible’s wonderful way of saying that you may lose some of your teeth as you grow older.

Furthermore, we have absolute constants. For example, a day following a night is a constant. It has been happening since the world began, and it will continue to happen until God says otherwise. Psalm 30:5 says that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. It is certain that a day will follow a night; therefore, before sunrise tomorrow, all your sorrows will be gone, in Jesus’ name.

Our God is an absolute constant. In today’s memory verse, He said, “…l am the Lord, I change not…” He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Who He was is who He is – He never changes. That is why He introduced Himself to Moses as I AM, not I WAS, nor ‘I WILL BE’. If He gave someone a miracle yesterday, you can rest assured that He can give you the same today. The God who healed the sick and made the lame walk is still the same. Do you have a case that looks impossible? Our God is Almighty, and there is nothing impossible with Him (Luke 1:37). Pray and search through the Scriptures for God’s word to you concerning the situation, for the things that were written in the Bible were written for your learning, that you might have hope through patience and the comfort of the Scriptures (Romans 15:4).

Beloved, God never changes; His word is constant (Isaiah 40:8). Let your heart be filled with hope because His word never fails. Hold on to His word, and very soon, your hope will be turned into testimonies.

    KEY POINT

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever more. He is our sure constant amidst

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    1 Samuel 1-3

HYMN 58: MY HOPE IS BUILT ON NOTHING ELSE

OPEN HEAVEN 22 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

Today’s devotional is a profound reflection on the unchanging nature of God and the hope we can have in His promises. It contrasts the variables and constants in life with the absolute constancy of God, reminding us that He is our ultimate source of stability and hope. Let’s explore it:

    1. MEMORISE: Malachi 3:6

Malachi 3:6 says, “For I am the Lord, I do not change; therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.” This verse underscores the immutability of God – His unchanging nature. It is a foundational truth that provides comfort and assurance to believers. Because God does not change, His promises, character, and faithfulness remain constant. This means we can trust Him completely, no matter how unpredictable or unstable life may seem.

    2. BIBLE READING: Lamentations 3:22-26

This passage is a beautiful declaration of God’s steadfast love and faithfulness. It reminds us that “His mercies are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:23) and that He is good to those who wait for Him and seek Him. These verses emphasize that even in times of suffering or uncertainty, God’s love and faithfulness are constants we can rely on. They encourage us to trust in His timing and to wait patiently for His intervention.

    3. Variables and Constants in Life

The Open Heaven devotional begins by drawing a distinction between variables and constants in life. Variables, such as wealth, health, and circumstances, are subject to change. Even things that seem constant, like the number of teeth in an adult’s mouth, can change over time. This highlights the transient nature of life and the unpredictability of worldly things.

However, the devotional for today contrasts these variables with absolute constants, such as the cycle of day and night. These constants remind us that some things are unchanging and reliable. The devotional uses Psalm 30:5 to illustrate this: “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” This verse assures us that just as night is always followed by day, our sorrows will eventually give way to joy because of God’s faithfulness.

    4. God as the Absolute Constant

The central theme of the devotional is that God is an absolute constant. He is unchanging in His nature, character, and promises. This truth is rooted in Malachi 3:6 and Hebrews 13:8, which declares that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” The devotional emphasizes that:

    • God’s Nature Never Changes: He is the same God who performed miracles in the past, and He is still capable of doing the impossible today.
    • God’s Promises Are Reliable: Because He does not change, His Word remains constant and trustworthy (Isaiah 40:8).
    • God’s Faithfulness is Unwavering: We can depend on Him in every season of life, knowing that He will never fail us.

This truth is a source of great hope and encouragement, especially when we face challenges or uncertainties. It reminds us that no matter how chaotic or unpredictable life may seem, God remains our unchanging foundation.

    5. Application: Holding On to God’s Word

The devotional encourages us to hold on to God’s Word, especially in difficult times. It reminds us that the Scriptures were written for our learning and encouragement (Romans 15:4). When we face situations that seem impossible, we are to:

    • Pray: Bring our concerns to God, knowing that He hears us.
    • Search the Scriptures: Look for God’s promises and apply them to our situation.
    • Wait Patiently: Trust in God’s timing, knowing that His Word never fails.

The devotional also reassures us that our hope in God’s promises will eventually turn into testimonies. This is a powerful reminder that God’s faithfulness is not just a theological concept but a reality we can experience in our lives.

    6. Key Message: God’s Unchanging Nature is Our Hope

The key message of the devotional is that God’s unchanging nature is our source of hope and stability in an ever-changing world. It challenges us to:

    • Anchor Our Lives in God: Instead of relying on the variables of life, we are to build our lives on the unchanging foundation of God’s Word and character.
    • Trust in His Promises: No matter how impossible our circumstances may seem, we can trust that God is able to do what He has promised.
    • Live with Confidence: Knowing that God is constant, we can face life’s challenges with confidence and hope.

Today’s devotional serves as both a reminder and a call to action:

    • Reminder: God’s unchanging nature is a truth we can cling to in every season of life. It reassures us that He is always faithful, even when life feels uncertain.
    • Call to Action: We are to actively hold on to God’s Word, pray, and wait patiently for His promises to be fulfilled. We are also called to share this hope with others, especially those who may be struggling with doubt or fear.

    Conclusion

The Open Heaven devotional for today is a powerful reminder of the constancy of God in a world of variables. It encourages us to place our trust in His unchanging nature and to hold on to His promises, knowing that they will never fail. Whether we are facing challenges, waiting for breakthroughs, or simply navigating the uncertainties of life, we can rest in the assurance that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Let us anchor our lives in His Word and live with the confidence that comes from knowing our hope in Him will never be disappointed.

Open Heaven Devotional 21 March 2025: THE SEED OF GOD

Today’s Open Heaven devotional (21 March 2025) is THE SEED OF GOD

The daily devotion guide is written by Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Open Heaven Devotional 21 March 2025: THE SEED OF GOD

OPEN HEAVEN 21 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: THE SEED OF GOD

    MEMORISE
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
    1 Peter 1:23

    READ: 1 John 3:7-9
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 21 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

When God’s seed is in you, sin becomes irritating to you. No matter how hungry a cat is, it will not eat faeces. Today’s Bible reading says that if you are born of God, you cannot sin because God’s seed is in you. As God’s child, no matter the temptation you face, His seed in you will help you overcome it.

People who claim to be born again and are still enjoying sin are not truly saved. Sin separates people from God and makes them satan’s lawful captives (2 Timothy 2:26). If you are living in sin, you should cry to God for His salvation that takes away the seed of sin and replaces it with His seed.

God translates believers from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of His light (Colossians 1:13) and gives them a new identity and DNA. Just as a mango seed can never produce an apple, Christians don’t have the capacity to produce sin because God’s seed is in them. However, if a believer refuses to nurture and grow this seed, he or she will be overpowered by sin. Abiding in God’s word is one way to allow the seed of God within you to bloom and cause you to bear the fruits of righteousness.

Today’s memory verse says that you have been born again of incorruptible seed – the word of God, which lives and abides forever. His word is sharper than any two-edged sword and can discern the intents of our hearts long before they become actions (Hebrews 4:12). Christians who allow God’s word to dwell richly in them (Colossians 3:16) will stand strong against temptations and sin. Sin is an operation of darkness, but God’s word brings light and understanding (Psalm 119:130). Knowing God’s word will make you wise and alert; you will be able to foresee the dangers in certain situations and hide yourself (Proverbs 22:3).

Joseph discerned the evil in Potiphar’s wife’s request and ran away (Genesis 39:12). Samson, on the other hand, couldn’t discern the evil in Delilah’s request until it was too late (Judges 16:1-21). If you want to be a great instrument in God’s hands, you must take God’s word seriously. Anything that keeps you from God’s word wants to destroy your soul. God’s seed in you will be preserved from the corruption of sin when you make His word your topmost priority.

Don’t allow yourself to become Satan’s lawful captive.

    REFLECTION

Is God’s word your meditation all day long? (Psalm 119:97).

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Ruth 1-4

HYMN 59: I WANT TO BE LIKE JESUS

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 21 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

The Open Heaven devotional for today is a profound call to holiness and a reminder of the transformative power of God’s Word and His divine nature within believers. It emphasizes the incompatibility of sin with the life of a true Christian and underscores the importance of nurturing the “seed” of God’s Word in our hearts. Let’s break it down:

    1. MEMORISE: 1 Peter 1:23

1 Peter 1:23 says, “Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.”

This verse highlights the supernatural nature of our rebirth as Christians. We are not merely reformed or improved; we are reborn through the eternal and unchanging Word of God. This “incorruptible seed” is the foundation of our new identity in Christ, and it empowers us to live holy lives. This verse sets the tone for the devotional, reminding us that our transformation is rooted in God’s Word and His divine nature.

    2. BIBLE READING: 1 John 3:7-9

This BIble passage emphasizes the distinction between those who are truly born of God and those who are not. It states that “whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God” (1 John 3:9). As a believer, we are free from sin – not a slave to it – because Jesus has given us a new life. The “seed” of God within produces a new nature that is opposed to sin. This passage challenges us to examine our lives and ensure that we are living in alignment with our new identity in Christ.

    3. The Nature of God’s Seed in Us

The devotional uses the analogy of a seed to explain the transformative work of God in a believer’s life. Just as a mango seed cannot produce an apple, a true Christian, who has God’s seed within them, cannot consistently produce sin. This “seed” represents the divine nature of God that is implanted in us at salvation (2 Peter 1:4). It gives us a new capacity to resist sin and live righteously.

However, the devotional also warns that this seed must be nurtured. How? By abiding in God’s Word, prayer, and fellowship with other believers are essential for spiritual growth. If we neglect these disciplines, we risk being overpowered by sin, even though we have the potential to overcome it.

    4. The Danger of Living in Sin

Today’s devotional makes a strong statement: “People who claim to be born again and are still enjoying sin are not truly saved.” This echoes the teachings of 1 John, which repeatedly emphasizes that a true believer’s life will reflect their new nature. Sin separates us from God and makes us “Satan’s lawful captives” (2 Timothy 2:26). This is a sobering reminder that genuine salvation produces a change in behavior and attitude toward sin.

For those who are living in sin, cry out to God for salvation. Only God can remove the “seed of sin” and replace it with His divine nature. This is a call to repentance and faith, emphasizing that true freedom from sin is found in Christ alone.

    5. The Power of God’s Word

The devotional for today highlights the importance of God’s Word in nurturing the seed within us. Hebrews 4:12 describes the Word as “sharper than any two-edged sword,” able to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. When we allow God’s Word to dwell richly in us (Colossians 3:16), it brings light, understanding, and wisdom (Psalm 119:130). This enables us to recognize and resist temptation, as Joseph did when he fled from Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39:12).

In contrast, Samson’s failure to discern the danger in Delilah’s request (Judges 16:1-21) serves as a warning. Without a deep understanding of God’s Word, we are vulnerable to sin and its consequences. The devotional challenges us to take God’s Word seriously, as it is essential for spiritual growth and victory over sin.

    6. Key Message: Guarding the Seed Within

The key message of the devotional is clear: “God’s seed in you will be preserved from the corruption of sin when you make His Word your topmost priority.” This is a call to action for believers to prioritize their relationship with God and His Word. By doing so, we protect ourselves from becoming “Satan’s lawful captives” and ensure that the seed within us bears the fruit of righteousness.

The Open Heaven devotional for todays serves as both a reminder and a challenge:

    • Reminder: We have been given a new nature through the incorruptible seed of God’s Word. This new nature empowers us to live holy lives and resist sin.
    • Challenge: We must actively nurture this seed by abiding in God’s Word, prayer, and fellowship. Neglecting these disciplines can lead to spiritual weakness and vulnerability to sin.

    Conclusion

This devotional is a powerful exhortation to live in the reality of our new identity in Christ. It reminds us that sin is incompatible with the life of a true believer and challenges us to nurture the seed of God’s Word within us. By prioritizing our relationship with God and His Word, we can stand strong against temptation and bear the fruit of righteousness. Let us guard the seed within us and live as children of light, reflecting the nature of our heavenly Father. If you are struggling with sin, cry out to God today and allow His Word to transform you from the inside out.

    Amen.

TOPIC: FROM DOG TO CHILD II

    MEMORISE:
But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
    Matthew 9:13

    READ: 1 Timothy 1:11-17
11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
    12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 20 MARCH 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Yesterday, I established that God considers sinners and backsliders as dogs (Matthew 15:21, 2 Peter 2:22), and today, I will conclude the discussion on God’s willingness to change them to children.

Before I became born again, and while I was still single, I had so many girlfriends. Years later, after I had gotten married and given my life to Christ, I became a lecturer at the University of Ilorin. After a while, one of my former girlfriends, who had also gotten married, relocated to llorin with her husband.

She had a child who was born lame, and somebody told her that there was a pastor who could pray for her child, and the child would begin to walk. When she came to the church, she asked to see the pastor. She was ushered into my office, and when she opened the door and saw me, we greeted ourselves as old flames would. Finally, she said, “I want to see the pastor.” I said, “Yes, how can I help you?” She replied, “I said I want to see the pastor.” I said, “I am the pastor.” She responded, “You? You will pray, and God will answer?” We prayed, and the child began to walk.

The Bible says that if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17). The greatest miracle is the salvation of souls. If you are not yet born again, no matter now grave your sins are, God can save you too as He saved me.

Before Saul encountered Jesus, he was a persecutor of Christians. However, after his encounter, he became a great asset to the Kingdom (1 Timothy 1:12-14). God converted cities through him, and a whole continent heard of Jesus through his ministry (Acts 19:26).

There is no limit to what God can do in you, with you, and through you because when He transforms a man, He does it completely. As a son, you will have access to divine privileges. You will have the right to call God your Father, and you will partake of His inheritance.

Paul understood what it meant to be a new creature, and as God’s child, he exercised his divine rights and authority. From a former dog, special miracles happened, and many people became transformed. If you are not yet born again, God wants to give you a new identity and make you His beloved child. Surrender to Him now and watch Him make your life a wonder to many (Psalm 71:7).

    HYMN 2: AMAZING GRACE

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 20 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

Today’s devotional is a powerful testimony of God’s transformative grace and His ability to take sinners and backsliders and make them into new creations in Christ.

It emphasizes the completeness of God’s work in a person’s life when they surrender to Him. Here is breakdown:

    1. MEMORISE: Matthew 9:13

Matthew 9:13 highlights the heart of Jesus’ mission: to seek and save the lost. It reminds us that God’s priority is not religious rituals or outward appearances but mercy and transformation. This verse sets the foundation for the devotional, emphasizing that God’s grace is available to all, no matter how sinful or broken they may be.

    2. BIBLE READING: 1 Timothy 1:11-17

In this passage, Paul reflects on his own transformation from a persecutor of Christians to an apostle of Christ. He describes himself as the “chief of sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15) but acknowledges that God’s grace was poured out abundantly on him. This passage underscores several key truths:

    • God’s Grace is Sufficient: No one is beyond the reach of God’s mercy.
    • Transformation is Possible: Paul’s life is a testament to the complete change that God can bring about in a person.
    • God’s Purpose in Salvation: Paul’s transformation was not just for his benefit but to serve as an example of God’s patience and love for others.

This passage reinforces the devotional’s message that God can take even the worst sinners and use them mightily for His kingdom.

    3. The Testimony of Transformation

The devotional includes a personal testimony of Daddy Adeboye, who shares how God transformed his life from a life of sin to a life of service. The story of his former girlfriend coming to him for prayer, not realizing he had become a pastor, is a powerful illustration of God’s ability to change lives completely. The healing of her child is not just a physical miracle but also a spiritual sign of God’s power working through a transformed life.

    This testimony highlights:

    • The Power of a New Identity in Christ: The author’s transformation from a life of sin to a life of ministry shows that in Christ, we are truly new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17).
    • God’s Use of Transformed Lives: Daddy Adeboye’s past did not disqualify him from being used by God; instead, it became a platform for God’s glory.

    4. The Example of Paul (Saul)

Today’s devotional draws a parallel between the author’s transformation and that of the Apostle Paul. Paul’s life is one of the most dramatic examples of God’s grace in the Bible. From being a persecutor of the church to becoming one of its greatest leaders, Paul’s story demonstrates:

    • The Depth of God’s Mercy: If God could save Paul, He can save anyone.
    • The Purpose of Transformation: Paul’s life was not just changed for his sake but for the sake of the gospel. His ministry impacted cities and continents, showing that God’s transformation always has a greater purpose.

    5. The Privileges of Being God’s Child

The devotional for today emphasizes the privileges that come with being a child of God. These include:

    • Access to Divine Privileges: As God’s children, we have the right to call Him Father and partake in His inheritance (Romans 8:15-17).
    • Authority in Christ: Paul exercised his divine rights and authority to perform miracles and spread the gospel. This shows that transformed lives are not just about personal salvation but about being vessels for God’s work in the world.

    6. Key Message: Surrender and Transformation

The key message of the devotional is clear: God wants to give you a new identity and make you His beloved child. Surrender to Him now and watch Him make your life a wonder to many (Psalm 71:7).This is a call to action for those who are not yet born again or who may feel unworthy of God’s love. It reminds us that:

    • No One is Beyond God’s Reach: No matter how grave your sins, God’s grace is greater.
    • Transformation is Complete: When God changes a person, He does it thoroughly, giving them a new identity and purpose.
    • Your Life Can Be a Testimony: God’s work in your life can become a powerful testimony to others.

The RCCG devotional for today serves as both an encouragement and a challenge:

    • Encouragement: It reminds us of the power of God’s grace in our own lives and encourages us to celebrate the transformations we see in others.
    • Challenge: It challenges us to be instruments of God’s mercy, helping others understand that no one is beyond His reach. We are called to share the gospel boldly and to pray for those who are still lost or backslidden.

    Conclusion

This devotional is a beautiful reminder of the transformative power of God’s grace. It reassures us that no one is too far gone for God to save and that His mercy can turn even the worst sinners into His beloved children. The testimonies shared- both personal and biblical – serve as powerful examples of what God can do when we surrender to Him. Let us embrace our identity as new creations in Christ and live lives that testify to His amazing grace. If you have not yet surrendered to Him, today is the day to experience His life-changing love.

OPEN HEAVEN 19 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: FROM DOG TO CHILD I

    MEMORISE
Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the Lord our God.
    Jeremiah 3:22

    READ: Luke 15:11-32
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 19 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

My Father is the God of all possibilities; He can change even a dog to a beloved child. As far as God is concerned, those who are not born again are dogs (Matthew 15:21-28).

A backslider is also considered a dog. When Peter spoke about backsliders, he said, “But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, the dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire” (2 Peter 2:22).

God is merciful, and His mercy can change the worst sinners into His beloved children. In 1 Timothy 1:15, Apostle Paul said, “I was the chief of sinners,” but God changed him, and he became a chief among apostles (2 Corinthians 11:5). With God, all things are possible.

A young evangelist who faithfully won several souls to God fell into fornication. Consequently, satan deceived him that he could never receive God’s torgiveness. He believed the lie and continued to live in sin until one day, he fell ill and was hospitalised. He was put in the same ward with a pastor, who always studied his Bible diligently. The evangelist admired the pastor, and one day, the pastor asked him if he was a Christian. He said that he used to be, and when the pastor asked why he stopped following God, he shared his story.

The pastor immediately showed him through the Scriptures that he could be forgiven and restored. Then, he prayed with him, and the young evangelist was restored – joy flooded his heart. The next morning, the pastor didn’t see the young evangelist. When he asked the nurses about him, they told him that he had joyfully passed on. God mercifully allowed the young man to return from his vomit before taking him home.

God is willing to restore backsliders when they return to Him sincerely; He is not interested in their death or destruction. In Jeremiah 3:13-14, He pleaded with backsliders to acknowledge their iniquity and turn to Him. God will always receive and restore people with humble and contrite hearts. The prodigal son was a backslider who received his Father’s mercy and was fully restored. Despite all he did, when he repented and took the right step to return to his father, he was received joyfully. God delights in welcoming lost sons home. If you are backslidden, don’t allow satan lie to you that God can never forgive you. He is waiting for you with wide open arms; return to Him now.

    KEY POINT

God is willing and able to restore backsliders to Himself. All they need to do is return to Him with sincere hearts.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Judges 17-19

HYMN 28: WHAT CAN WASH AWAY MY STAIN

OPEN HEAVEN 19 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL COMMENTARY

This devotional offers a powerful message of hope, restoration, and the boundless mercy of God. It centers on the theme of God’s willingness to forgive and restore those who have fallen away from Him, whether they are unbelievers or backsliders. Let’s break it down:

    1. MEMORISE: Jeremiah 3:22

Jeremiah 3:22 says, “Return, you backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings.” This verse encapsulates the heart of God toward those who have wandered away from Him. It is a call to repentance and a promise of restoration. God is not interested in punishing or rejecting those who return to Him; rather, He desires to heal and restore them. This verse sets the tone for the entire devotional, emphasizing God’s readiness to forgive and His longing for reconciliation.

    2. BIBLE READING: Luke 15:11-32 (The Parable of the Prodigal Son)

The story of the prodigal son is one of the most profound illustrations of God’s love and mercy. The younger son represents backsliders – those who have turned away from God to pursue their own desires. Despite his rebellion and wastefulness, the father (representing God) welcomes him back with open arms when he repents and returns. This parable highlights several key truths:

    • God’s Unconditional Love: The father’s love never wavered, even when the son was far away.
    • The Power of Repentance: The son’s decision to return home was met with immediate forgiveness and restoration.
    • Celebration Over Restoration: God delights in restoring His children and celebrates their return.

This story reassures us that no matter how far we have strayed, God is always ready to forgive and restore us when we come back to Him.

    3. The Analogy of Dogs and Backsliders

The devotional uses the analogy of dogs to describe both unbelievers and backsliders. In Matthew 15:21-28, Jesus refers to Gentiles as “dogs,” highlighting their separation from God’s covenant promises. Similarly, 2 Peter 2:22 compares backsliders to dogs returning to their vomit, illustrating the ugliness of returning to sin after experiencing God’s grace.

However, God’s mercy can transform even the worst sinners into His beloved children. The example of Apostle Paul, who called himself the “chief of sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15), demonstrates that no one is beyond the reach of God’s grace. This is a powerful reminder that God’s love and mercy are greater than our failures.

    4. The Story of the Young Evangelist

The story of the young evangelist who fell into sin and believed Satan’s lie that he could never be forgiven is a poignant example of how the enemy seeks to trap us in guilt and shame. However, through the intervention of the pastor and the truth of Scripture, the young man experienced God’s forgiveness and restoration. His joyful passing shortly after his restoration shows that God’s mercy is not only about restoring us in this life but also preparing us for eternity.

This story underscores the importance of:

    • Community and Accountability: The pastor played a crucial role in guiding the young man back to God.
    • The Power of Scripture: God’s Word has the power to break lies and bring freedom.
    • God’s Timing: Even in his final moments, the young man experienced the joy of reconciliation with God.

    5. Key Point: God’s Willingness to Restore

The key point of the devotional is clear: God is willing and able to restore backsliders to Himself. If you are, all you need to do is return to Him with a sincere heart. This echoes the message of Jeremiah 3:22 and the parable of the prodigal son. God’s desire is not to condemn or destroy but to heal and restore. His arms are always open to those who humbly repent and return to Him.

    Note for Christians

For mature Christians, this devotional serves as both a reminder and a call to action:

    • Reminder: No matter how far we or others have strayed, God’s mercy is always available. We should never give up on ourselves or others, knowing that God’s grace is sufficient.
    • Call to Action: As mature believers, we have a responsibility to help restore those who have fallen away. Like the pastor in the story, we should be ready to share the truth of God’s Word and pray with those who are struggling.

    Conclusion

This devotional is a beautiful reminder of God’s relentless love and mercy. It challenges us to reject the lies of the enemy and embrace the truth that God is always ready to forgive and restore. Whether we are backsliders ourselves or know someone who is, we can take comfort in the fact that God’s arms are wide open, and His grace is more than enough to bring us back into His loving embrace. Let us return to Him with sincere hearts and experience the joy of His restoration.

Open Heaven Devotional 18 March 2025: THE LORD OF HOSTS

Today’s Open Heaven devotional (18 March 2025) is THE LORD OF HOSTS

The daily devotion guide is written by Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Open Heaven Devotional 18 March 2025: THE LORD OF HOSTS

OPEN HEAVEN 18 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: THE LORD OF HOSTS

    MEMORISE
As for our redeemer, the Lord of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.
    Isaiah 47:4

    READ: Isaiah 51:15-16
15 But I am the Lord thy God, that divided the sea, whose waves roared: The Lord of hosts is his name.
16 And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 18 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

According to Psalm 24:7-10, God is the Lord of hosts; the Commander-in-chief of all hosts in heaven, on earth, and underneath the earth.

Even the devil operates within the confines of what He allows, as we see in the book of Job.

God can deal with any number of demons, be it one as in Mark 1:23-27, seven as in Luke 8:1-3, or a legion as in Mark 5:2-20. If there are any demonic forces interfering with your life, they will be put to shame, in Jesus’ name.

I used to say that the Lord of hosts never loses a battle, but recently, He corrected me and said, “Son, I can choose to lose a battle to win a war. I can never lose a war.” Sometimes, the Lord of hosts, in His divine wisdom, can choose to lose a battle because there is a greater war to win. For example, He allowed the devil to touch Job’s possessions and health because He wanted to showcase the excellency of His power. In another example, Pharaoh’s magicians did the same things Moses and Aaron did when they first confronted Pharaoh.

However, it got to a point where they were terrified and declared, “This is the finger of God..” (Exodus 8:19). God permitted Pharaoh to remain stubborn so that He could reveal His mighty hand (Romans 9:17).

While Stephen was being stoned, Saul watched, and the devil rejoiced. The devil must have thought that he had won when he eliminated Stephen, not knowing that the agent he used to oversee the task would later become a major general in God’s army. God had a bigger picture; He planned to use Saul to wreak great havoc on the kingdom of hell, and He succeeded. The Lord of hosts wins every war. No matter how terrible things get, when He steps on the scene, everything will align in favour of His beloved children. No wonder Paul said, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God and who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Beloved, the Lord of hosts isn’t just the mighty Man in battle; He is also the only wise God (1 Timothy 1:17). He can rearrange things to suit His purpose – even the worst of situations.

Trust Him to use whatever unpleasant situation that exists in your life for your good and for His glory.

    KEY POINT

The Lord of hosts never loses a war; He arranges everything to suit His purposes.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Judges 14-16

HYMN 18: PRAISE TO THE LORD THE ALMIGHTY

Open Heaven 18 March 2025 Commentary

Today’s Open Heavens devotional draws deeply from Scripture to remind us believers of the sovereignty, wisdom, and ultimate victory of God, the Lord of hosts. Let’s break it down and reflect on its key themes:

    1. The Sovereignty of the Lord of Hosts (Psalm 24:7-10)

The passage begins by emphasizing God’s supreme authority as the “Lord of hosts,” a title that signifies His command over all spiritual and physical forces – whether in heaven, on earth, or beneath the earth. This title reassures believers that no power, not even the devil, operates outside of God’s control.

The reference to Job illustrates this perfectly: Satan could only act within the boundaries God set (Job 1:12, 2:6). This truth should bring comfort to you, knowing that even in spiritual warfare, God is in control.

    2. God’s Power Over Demonic Forces

Jesus has authority over demons no matter their number (Mark 1:23-27, Luke 8:1-3, Mark 5:2-20). These examples demonstrate that no demonic force is too great for God to handle. The assurance that “they will be put to shame, in Jesus’ name” is a powerful reminder of the authority believers have in Christ. This should encourage us to stand firm in faith, knowing that through Jesus, we have victory over any spiritual opposition.

    3. God’s Wisdom in Losing Battles to Win Wars

The devotional takes a profound turn when it mentions God’s correction: “I can choose to lose a battle to win a war. I can never lose a war.” This is a critical insight into God’s divine wisdom. Sometimes, what appears to be a loss or a setback in our eyes is part of God’s greater plan to achieve ultimate victory. The examples of Job and Pharaoh illustrate this principle:

    • Job: God allowed Satan to afflict Job, not because He was powerless to stop it, but to demonstrate Job’s faithfulness and God’s sovereignty. In the end, Job’s suffering led to a deeper revelation of God’s power and restoration (Job 42:10-17).
    • Pharaoh: God hardened Pharaoh’s heart to display His glory through the plagues and the Exodus. What seemed like a prolonged battle was actually a stage for God’s mighty works (Exodus 8:19, Romans 9:17).

These examples remind us that God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). Even when we don’t understand His methods, we can trust His purposes.

    4. God’s Bigger Picture: The Story of Saul (Acts 7-9)

The stoning of Stephen and the subsequent conversion of Saul (later Paul) is a powerful example of God’s ability to turn apparent defeat into victory. The devil may have thought he had won by silencing Stephen, but God was orchestrating a greater plan. Saul, who oversaw Stephen’s death, became one of the greatest apostles, spreading the gospel and advancing God’s kingdom. This reminds us that God can use even the most unlikely people and situations for His glory.

    5. All Things Work Together for Good (Romans 8:28)

The devotional concludes with this foundational promise. For believers, no circumstance—no matter how difficult—is beyond God’s ability to redeem and use for good. This doesn’t mean that everything that happens is good, but rather that God can weave even the darkest threads into His grand tapestry of redemption and glory.

    6. Trusting God’s Wisdom and Timing

The closing exhortation to trust God in unpleasant situations is a call to faith. God is not only the “mighty Man in battle” but also the “only wise God” (1 Timothy 1:17). He can rearrange circumstances, transform lives, and bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Our role is to trust Him, even when we can’t see the bigger picture.

    Application for Believers:

    • Stand Firm in Faith: Remember that God is sovereign over all spiritual forces. No demonic opposition can thwart His plans.
    • Embrace God’s Wisdom: Trust that even when things seem to go wrong, God is working behind the scenes for a greater purpose.
    • Look for the Bigger Picture: Like Saul’s conversion, what seems like a setback may be a setup for a greater victory.
    • Rest in God’s Promises: Cling to Romans 8:28, knowing that God is working all things for your good and His glory.

In summary, this devotional is a powerful reminder of God’s sovereignty, wisdom, and ultimate victory. It calls us to trust in His greater plan, even in the midst of trials, and to rest in the assurance that He is the Lord of hosts – the One who never loses a war.

Open Heaven Devotional 17 March 2025: NO MORE BARRENNESS

Today’s Open Heaven devotional (17 March 2025) is NO MORE BARRENNESS

The daily devotion guide is written by Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Open Heaven Devotional 17 March 2025: NO MORE BARRENNESS

OPEN HEAVEN 17 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: NO MORE BARRENNESS

    MEMORISE
And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land.
    2 Kings 2:21

    READ: Genesis 21:1-2
And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 17 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

In Genesis 1:28, God commanded man to be fruitful I and multiply. A barren womb does not give Him pleasure; this is why in Genesis 18:9-14 when He told Sarah that she would have a baby and she responded by laughing, He said, “Is anything too hard for me?” If you’re experiencing any form of barrenness in your life, it will become a thing of the past, in Jesus’ name.

I was visiting the USA, and one of my young friends insisted that I come to his house for dinner. We agreed to have a quiet dinner; however, when I got to his house, I met four other women besides his wife. I turned to him and said, “I thought we agreed that this would be a quiet dinner.” He responded, “They’ve come to help my wife to cook.” I wondered why the food we wanted to eat needed five women to prepare, but I didn’t know they had a plan. l ate the food, and after I left, the four women who were visiting took turns sitting on the chair I sat on because they were trusting God for the fruit of the womb.

The following year, when I was back in the USA, three of them were carrying their children, while the fourth was six months pregnant. If you are reading this and have been looking to God for the fruit of the womb, l extend the anointing to wherever you are right now, and if you will only believe, in nine months, you will receive your miracle.

At another time, I decided to use the restroom while the choir was ministering during a Holy Ghost Service in Kaduna, Nigeria. An usher, who was standing near the door, greeted me, and I shook hands with him. After I entered the restroom, he started rejoicing, and he excitedly went to tell the other ushers, “He shook my hands!” As I stepped out, there were about six ushers standing outside. I shook hands with them all; therefore, the usher who went to call the others received a second handshake. When he got home, he told his wife, who had been barren for years, “Bring your stomach. Daddy G.O. shook my hand twice!” Nine months later, their baby arrived.

Barrenness is not God’s will, and He has said in His word that none shall be barren in the land (Exodus 23:26). I decree an end to any form of barrenness that might exist in your life, in Jesus’ name.

    PRAYER POINT

Father, Your word says that none shall be barren in the land; therefore, I decree that I shall experience fruitfulness in all aspects of my life, in Jesus’ name.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Judges 11-13

HYMN 26: THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS

OPEN HEAVEN 17 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. God’s Original Design: Fruitfulness

Open Heaven devotional for today begins by grounding itself in God’s first command to humanity“Be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis 1:28). This establishes:

    • Barrenness is not God’s will. It’s a distortion of His design (Exodus 23:26).
    • Sarah’s laughter (Genesis 18:12-14) revealed her unbelief, but God’s promise prevailed.

    Key Insight:

    • Physical barrenness mirrors spiritual/emotional barrenness (e.g., unproductive ministries, stagnant careers).
    • God’s question “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” challenges our limits.

    Application:
✔ Identify areas of “barrenness” in your life (relationships, creativity, finances).
✔ Pray: “Father, reverse every curse of fruitlessness in Jesus’ name!”

    2. The Power of Contact Anointing

Today’s devotional shares two testimonies of barrenness broken through prophetic contact:

    1. The Four Women in the USA:
      • Strategy: Sat on Daddy Adeboye’s chair, believing for transfer of anointing.
      • Result: All four conceived within a year.
    2. The Usher in Kaduna:
      • Strategy: Received a double handshake.
      • Result: His wife delivered after years of barrenness.

    Biblical Precedent:

    • The woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:27-29): Touched Jesus’ garment and was healed.
    • Paul’s handkerchiefs (Acts 19:11-12): Carried healing power.

    Caution:

    • Faith in God, not objects, brings miracles (Acts 3:12-16). The chair/handshake were points of contact for faith.

    Action Step:
✔ Seek God for YOUR point of contact (e.g., prayer cloths, laying on of hands).

    3. The Role of Belief in Receiving Miracles

Jesus often linked miracles to faith (e.g., “Your faith has made you well” – Mark 5:34). The devotional emphasizes:

    • The women acted on belief (sitting on the chair).
    • The usher declared victory (“Bring your stomach!”).

    Key Principle:

    • Faith activates God’s promises (Hebrews 11:11 – Sarah’s faith).
    • Doubt disqualifies (James 1:6-7).

    Prayer:
“Lord, I choose to believe Your Word over my circumstances. Let my faith provoke my miracle!”

    4. Types of Barrenness and Their Solutions

    TypeExampleSolution
PhysicalSarah (Genesis 21)Prophetic declaration (Exodus 23:26)
SpiritualUnproductive ministryPrayer + obedience (John 15:5)
FinancialEmpty barns (Haggai 1:6)Faithful giving (Malachi 3:10)
    EmotionalHannah’s grief (1 Sam. 1)Persistent prayer (v. 15-17)

    Declarations:

    • “My body is fertile ground for God’s promises!”
    • “My gifts/marriage/business will bear fruit!”

    5. Prophetic Decrees Over Your Life

The devotional closes with a powerful decree:
“An end to barrenness in Jesus’ name!”

    Stand on These Promises:

    • “None shall miscarry or be barren in your land” (Exodus 23:26).
    • “He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children” (Psalm 113:9).

    Action Steps:

    1. Pray and fast if possible claiming Exodus 23:26.
    2. Plant a seed (e.g., baby items, business investment) as a faith action.
    3. Testify to God’s faithfulness (Psalm 126:1-3).

Final Thought: Your Season of Fruitfulness Has Come!

Just as Isaac was born “at the set time” (Genesis 21:2), your miracle is divinely scheduled.

“The same God who opened Sarah’s womb is saying to you today: ‘Laugh no more – rejoice!’”

    Prayer:
“Father, I reject every label of barrenness. By Your power, I declare fruitfulness in my body, ministry, and destiny. Let my life glorify You as the God of suddenlies! Amen.”

“Your ‘barren’ place is becoming a birthplace of miracles!”
