OPEN HEAVEN 15 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: HE OWNS IT ALL

    MEMORISE
    God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
    Acts 17:24

    READ: Psalm 24:1-2
The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 15 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

Today’s Bible reading says that everything on the earth belongs to God, including silver, gold, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. Nobody can be richer than the Owner of the whole earth. Whatever anyone possesses is just a little bit of what God has. The real resources are in His hands, and He can supply all your needs effortlessly.

In 2 Kings 4:1-7, the widow of one of the sons of the prophets was bankrupt, and creditors wanted to seize her sons as repayment for the debt. However, God intervened, and in a short time, He provided her with so much money that she became debt-free and had enough to live on for her lifetime. In John 6:5-13, He fed 5,000 people with a little boy’s lunch.

Afterwards, there were 12 baskets of leftovers. God fed the multitude, and the leftovers were more than what He started with. In Jesus’ name, all your needs will be met.

I once travelled to London, and while I was there, I ran out of money. I needed £50 to buy books, and as I went to bed one night, l prayed, “God, I wish I had £50.” Soon after, the phone rang. I picked it up, and the caller said,

“Biyi?” I said, “There is no Biyi here.” When he asked who I was, I answered, “My name is Adeboye.” He asked, “Which Adeboye?” and I said, “Pastor Adeboye of RCCG.” He began to scream, and he eventually came over with his brother. When they were leaving, they gave me £50. After they left, I told God that if I knew how easily He could give me £50, I would have asked for £100. Almost ten minutes after saying that, the doorbell rang. However, before I could get to the door, the person left. Underneath the door, I saw an envelope containing another £50 from a rich miser that I had known for a long time. Again, I asked for another £50, and soon after, I miraculously got it. I became afraid and said, “Lord, I am joking. I am already satisfied with the first £50.”

God embarrassed me with much more than I needed because He owns everything.

Beloved, there is no limit to what God can do for His children. He is the creator of the entire universe, and He owns it all.

    KEY POINT

God is limitless in what He can do for you when you are His child.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Judges 6-8

HYMN 18: PRAISE TO THE LORD THE ALMIGHTY

OPEN HEAVEN 15 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Foundation: God’s Absolute Ownership

The Open Heaven devotional for today begins with a foundational truth: Everything belongs to God (Psalm 24:1). This includes:

    • Material wealth (silver, gold, cattle on a thousand hills – Psalm 50:10).
    • Natural resources (Deuteronomy 10:14).
    • Human labor (Deuteronomy 8:18).

    Key Insight:

    • No one is truly “rich”—we are all stewards of God’s resources.
    • Scarcity is a lie; God’s supply is infinite (Philippians 4:19).

    Application:
✔ Shift your mindset from “I lack” to “My Father owns it all.”
✔ Pray with confidence: “Lord, release what I need from Your storehouse!”

    2. Biblical Proofs of Divine Provision

Today’s devotional highlights two miraculous provisions:

    1. The Widow’s Oil (2 Kings 4:1-7):
      • From debt and despair to abundance and freedom.
      • Principle: God multiplies what we surrender to Him.
    2. Feeding the 5,000 (John 6:5-13):
      • A boy’s lunch → 12 baskets leftover.
      • Principle: God’s math: “Little” + obedience = “more than enough.”

    Modern Example (Adeboye’s £50 Miracle):

    • God used unexpected sources (a wrong-number caller, a “miser”) to meet the need.
    • Lesson: He owns all channels—don’t limit how He can provide.

    3. The Heart of a Receiver

The devotional reveals 4 postures for accessing God’s supply:

    1. Ask Boldly (Matthew 7:7-8):
      • Adeboye’s simple prayer: “I wish I had £50.”
    2. Expect Supernaturally (Ephesians 3:20):
      • He was surprised by excess (£150 instead of £50).
    3. Steward Faithfully (Luke 16:10-12):
      • The widow borrowed vessels; the boy shared his lunch.
    4. Testify Gratefully (Psalm 107:1-2):
      • Share miracles to strengthen others’ faith.

    Warning:

    • Fear can limit God’s generosity (Adeboye stopped asking after £150).
    • Greed distorts trust (Proverbs 30:8-9).

    4. Overcoming Barriers to Provision

    Common obstacles and their solutions:

    BarrierSolutionScripture
    UnbeliefSpeak God’s promisesMark 9:23
    DisobedienceRepent and alignMalachi 3:8-10
AnxietyCast cares on God1 Peter 5:7
    IngratitudeThank Him in advancePhilippians 4:6

    Prayer Strategy:
“Father, break every mindset of lack in me. Teach me to receive from Your unlimited riches!”

    5. Prophetic Declarations for Your Breakthrough

The devotional for today implies God’s desire to “embarrass” you with overflow:

    • Debt → Freedom (Like the widow).
    • Scarcity → Abundance (Like the 5,000).
    • Need → Supernatural supply (Like £150).

    Stand on These Promises:

    • “My God shall supply ALL your need…” (Philippians 4:19).
    • “The silver and gold are Mine” (Haggai 2:8).

    Action Steps:

    1. List your needs/wants and present them to God boldly.
    2. Prepare “vessels” (e.g., save, study, network) for His provision.
    3. Testify to activate more blessings (Revelation 12:11).

Final Thought: You Serve the God of “Much More”

Jesus didn’t just feed the 5,000 – He left 12 baskets extra. Why?

    • To prove His lordship over scarcity.
    • To train the disciples in trust.
    • To show that His supply exceeds requests.

“You haven’t truly asked until you’ve asked for the ‘leftover baskets’!”

    Prayer:
“Owner of all things, I stand on Your Word today. Meet my needs and astonish me with Your generosity, so my life declares: ‘The earth is the Lord’s!’ Amen.”

“Your ‘need’ is God’s opportunity to showcase His ownership!”

Open Heaven Devotional 14 March 2025: FROM ‘NOT YET’ TO ‘NOW’

Today’s Open Heaven devotional (14 March 2025) is FROM ‘NOT YET’ TO ‘NOW’

OPEN HEAVEN 14 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: FROM ‘NOT YET’ TO ‘NOW’

    MEMORISE
Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion, for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is to come.
    Psalm 102:13

    READ: John 2:1-11
And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 14 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

Today, I will explore how God can change a ‘Not yet’ to ‘Now’. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus went to a wedding in Cana, and His mother told Him, “Son, they are out of wine,” implying that He should remedy the situation.

He initially said, “My time is not yet,” but before long, what was ‘Not yet’ became ‘Now’.

I was once in the USA for ministrations, and throughout my stay, a brother volunteered to drive me. I was impressed by his humility and kindness, and when I was leaving the country, I gave him a gift to give to his children. He didn’t tell me that he had been married for 19 years with no children. Not long after that, he came to our convention with his wife and child to testify of how God turned a ‘Not yet’ of 19 years into a ‘Yes’. He said that immediately I gave him the gift, he sealed it with faith and told his wife, “Daddy gave us a gift for the children; we will keep it for them.” God is still in the business of turning ‘Not yet’ to ‘Right now’, and your case will not be different, in Jesus’ name.

Years ago, a young graduate was searching for a job. He had sent countless applications but was unable to land one. Finally, he made up his mind, saying, “I will be at the Holy Ghost Service. When I get there, I’m going to wrestle with God until I get my result. My time must come NOW.” Because he had no money, he walked 46 kilometres from Lagos all the way to Redemption City. He arrived just as I was about to begin my ministration.

After a while, I noticed a little disturbance in the congregation; the young man had fainted because he was very tired, and the people around him were trying to revive him. I said, “What’s wrong? Bring him.” When he revived, he told his story, and when the congregation heard that he walked 46 kilometres to get a ‘Now’ answer from God, he got six job offers.

Don’t postpone what God can do for you now until tomorrow because of a lack of faith or disobedience. When Jesus said His time had not yet come, to change that narrative to

‘Now’, Mary told the servants, “Do whatever He tells you.” Just as persistent faith in God will turn a ‘No’ to a ‘Yes’, total obedience to His instructions will change a ‘Not yet’ to ‘Right now’. Take a bold step inspired by God and you will see His ‘Not yet’ becoming ‘Now’.

    KEY POINT

Total obedience to God’s word and instructions will change a ‘Not yet to ‘Right now’.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Judges 4-5

HYMN 21: STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF CHRIST MY KING

OPEN HEAVEN 14 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. God’s Sovereignty Over Divine Timings

Open Heaven devotional for today opens with Jesus’ words at the Cana wedding: “My hour has not yet come” (John 2:4). Yet, through Mary’s faith and the servants’ obedience, His “not yet” became “now.”

    Key Insights:

    • Divine delays are not denials (Habakkuk 2:3).
    • God’s “not yet” often requires human cooperation (e.g., filling waterpots, John 2:7-8).

    Modern Example:

    • The couple’s 19-year wait for a child ended when they acted in faith by preparing for the promise (like Abraham in Romans 4:17-21).

    Application:
✔ Are you waiting for a “not yet”? Prepare practically and spiritually as if it’s coming “now.”

    2. The Catalyst for Change: Faith + Obedience

    Two pathways accelerate God’s “now”:

    1. Persistent Faith
      • The graduate walked 46km, demonstrating desperate faith (Hebrews 11:6).
      • The Canaanite woman (Matthew 15:22-28) refused to take “no” for an answer.
    2. Immediate Obedience
      • Mary’s instruction: “Do whatever He tells you” (John 2:5).
      • The servants filled waterpots to the brim—total compliance (v. 7).

    Warning:

    • Delayed obedience = prolonged “not yet” (Jonah 1:1-3).

    Action Step:
✔ Identify one area where God is saying “wait.” Ask: “What step of obedience can I take today?”

    3. Breaking the “Not Yet” Stronghold

Today’s devotional highlights strongholds that delay God’s “now”:

    StrongholdBiblical Antidote
    Unbelief (Mark 6:5-6)Speak God’s promises (Romans 4:20-21)
    Disobedience (1 Samuel 13:8-14)Repent + act (James 4:17)
Passivity (James 2:17)Bold action (like the 46km walk)

    Prayer Strategy:
“Father, shatter every mindset of delay in my life. Align my faith and actions with Your ‘now’ timing!”

    4. Testimonies as Prophetic Precedents

The couple’s 19-year wait and the graduate’s 46km walk teach:

    • Faith declares the promise before it’s visible (Mark 11:24).
      • The brother kept the gift for future children—a faith declaration.
    • Desperation moves God’s heart (Psalm 34:17-18).
      • The graduate’s sacrifice provoked divine favor.

    Application:
✔ Write your “not yet” as a “now” testimony (e.g., “Thank You, Lord, for my healing NOW”).

    5. Prophetic Declarations for Your “Now”

The devotional ends with a decree:
“Your ‘not yet’ is becoming ‘now’ in Jesus’ name!”

    Stand on These Promises:

    • Isaiah 60:22: “I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.”
    • 2 Corinthians 6:2: “Now is the day of salvation.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Fast and pray over your “not yet” (Matthew 17:21).
    2. Take a bold step (e.g., apply for the job, start the business).
    3. Testify when the shift happens!

Final Thought: Your “Now” Moment is Coming!

Jesus’ first miracle at Cana (John 2:11) revealed His glory because people obeyed amid delay. Likewise:

    • Your obedience in the “not yet” season prepares you for the “now” breakthrough.
    • Your story will declare God’s faithfulness (Psalm 126:1-3).

“The set time to favor you has COME!” (Psalm 102:13)

    Prayer:
“Lord, I reject the spirit of delay. I receive Your ‘now’ for ______. As I obey Your leading, let my testimony bring You glory! Amen.”

“Your ‘not yet’ is just God’s pause before a powerful ‘NOW’ manifestation!”

    TOPIC: FROM ‘NO’ TO “YES’

    MEMORISE
And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
    Daniel 2:21

    READ: Matthew 15:21-28
21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 13 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

God never changes, but He can change things; this is why I call Him the Unchangeable Changer. He can change a ‘No’ to a ‘Yes’.

In today’s Bible reading, a woman came to Jesus, asking Him to heal her daughter. Jesus initially refused to answer her, then later on, told her ‘no’. She, however, persisted, and He eventually turned His ‘No’ into a ‘Yes’.

During a church programme, God’s word came that someone who was applying for a US visa had just received it. A young lady, who had an interview at the US embassy the following Monday, was so excited because she believed the prophecy was for her. Her visa application was, however, declined.

Surprised, she told the visa officer, “But my daddy said the visa has been granted.” The officer looked at her and said, “Who is your daddy?” She replied, “My daddy is Pastor Adeboye.” The officer laughed, “I thought you were going to say the president or governor, but a pastor? Please leave.”

As she turned to leave, the visa officer said, “Wait. Because you made me laugh, I’ll give you the visa.” It wasn’t laughter that turned the situation around; it was because there is a God who can change a ‘No’ to a ‘Yes’.

Sometimes, God changes the ‘No’ of His children’s enemies to a ‘Yes’. Pharaoh kept saying ‘No’ to Moses’ demands to let God’s people go, but God arose in His mighty power to change that ‘No’ to a ‘Yes’. In one night, He dealt with all the firstborns in Egypt because Pharaoh refused to allow His firstborn, Israel, to serve Him (Exodus 4:22-23). I pray that every ‘No’ from a boss or someone in authority who has prevented you from making progress in life will be turned into a ‘Yes’ now, in Jesus’ name.

Have faith in God and keep trusting Him. Like the woman who persistently asked Jesus for healing for her daughter and got it eventually, your persistent faith will open doors that have remained shut against you. Moses kept going to Pharaoh until God forced him to change his ‘No’ into a “Yes’.

Beloved, as you keep trusting in God, I decree that every door that has remained shut and has prevented you from fulfilling your destiny will be opened now. Every ‘No’ that is not in line with God’s will is turning into a “Yes’ for you, in Jesus’ name.

    KEY POINT

Persistent faith in God will turn a ‘No’ into a Yes’.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Judges 1-3

HYMN 30: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD

OPEN HEAVEN 13 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Nature of God as the “Unchangeable Changer”

The devotional for today introduces a profound paradox: God Himself never changes (Malachi 3:6), yet He specializes in changing impossible situations.

    • Biblical Examples:
      • The Canaanite Woman (Matthew 15:21-28): Jesus’ initial silence and apparent refusal (“It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs“) were tests of faith, not rejections. Her persistence turned His “No” into a “Yes.”
      • Pharaoh’s Stubbornness (Exodus 4-14): God turned 10 “No’s” into a final “Yes” through His judgments.

    Key Insight:

    • Human “No’s” are opportunities for divine intervention.
    • God’s delays are not denials—they prepare us for greater breakthroughs.

    Application:
✔ When faced with a “No,” ask: “Lord, are You testing my faith or preparing a greater ‘Yes’?”

    2. The Power of Persistent Faith

The Canaanite woman’s story reveals 4 keys to overcoming rejection:

    1. Humility: She accepted Jesus’ analogy (“dogs”) without offense (v. 27).
    2. Persistence: She kept asking despite silence and discouragement (v. 23-25).
    3. Spiritual Insight: She reframed Jesus’ words to claim her miracle (“Even dogs eat crumbs”).
    4. Worship: She approached Jesus as “Son of David” (v. 22), acknowledging His authority.

    Modern Testimony (Daddy Adeboye’s Account):

    • The visa officer’s mockery (“a pastor?“) turned to favor because God orchestrates even human laughter for His purposes (Proverbs 21:1).

    Action Step:
✔ List areas where you’ve received “No’s.” Pray with the Canaanite woman’s persistence.

    3. Divine Strategies to Change “No” to “Yes”

The Open Heaven devotional for today highlights God’s methods to reverse rejections:

    SituationGod’s StrategyResult
    Canaanite WomanTested her faithDaughter healed
    PharaohSent plaguesIsrael freed
    Visa ApplicantUsed LaughterVisa granted

    Principle:

    • God may use:
      • Delays (to build faith).
      • Human ridicule (to humble us).
      • Supernatural intervention (Exodus 12:29 – the Passover judgment).

    4. The Role of Authority Figures in Your Breakthrough

Today’s devotional identifies two types of “No-givers”:

    1. Pharaoh-types: Stubborn opposers (Exodus 5:2). God deals with them directly.
    2. Visa Officer-types: Unknowing instruments. God softens their hearts.

    Prayer Focus:

    • “Lord, turn the hearts of those blocking my destiny (Proverbs 21:1). Where they say ‘No,’ decree Your ‘Yes’!”

    5. Prophetic Declarations Over Your Life

The devotional closes with bold decrees:

    1. “Every ‘No’ contrary to God’s will is now ‘Yes’!”
      • Stand on Isaiah 45:2: “I will go before you and make the crooked places straight.”
    2. “Closed doors are opening now!”
      • Claim Revelation 3:8: “I have set before you an open door.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Write down “No’s” you’re contending against (e.g., job rejections, health diagnoses).
    2. Speak God’s promises over them daily (e.g., Jeremiah 32:27).
    3. Share past testimonies of divine reversals to strengthen faith.

Final Thought: Your “No” Is a Setup for God’s Glory

The Canaanite woman’s story wasn’t just about her daughter’s healing. It was a lesson in faith for the disciples (and us!). Likewise:

    • Your struggle with “No’s” is training for greater dominion.
    • Your testimony will encourage others facing closed doors.

    Prayer:
“Unchangeable Changer, I bring every ‘No’ in my life to Your throne. Turn them to ‘Yes’ for Your glory, and let my story declare Your power! Amen.”

“Your breakthrough isn’t denied. It’s divinely delayed for a greater testimony!”

    TOPIC: JESUS DELIVERS

    MEMORISE
    And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
    2 Samuel 22:2

    READ: Mark 1:23-28
23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.
25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 12 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

In Exodus 14:13-30, Pharaoh’s army pursued the Israelites as they camped before the Red Sea. The Israelites knew that unless something happened, they would either all be dead or be driven back into bondage. Moses, their leader, cried to God, and He delivered them with His mighty hand. In Mark 5:1-15, the man who was possessed by a legion of demons was set free with just one word from the Great Deliverer.

A woman once had a strange problem; anytime an electric appliance was switched on around her, instead of the appliance working, the electric current would flow through her.

For example, if a fan was turned on, instead of the fan rotating, the woman would start rotating. If a fridge was switched on, instead of the things in it to get cold, the woman would start getting cold, and if an electric iron was switched on, she would start getting hot.

Consequently, they dared not use any electrical appliance in her house, and as such, the house was in darkness. When I sent for her, I was told that she couldn’t travel in a vehicle because one day, people tried to take her to the hospital in a pick-up van, and as the driver switched on the engine, the current flowed from the engine to the woman, picked her up, and threw her out of the vehicle. Since she couldn’t travel in a vehicle, I had to go to her house, and I told her that all she needed was to give her life to Jesus because He would deliver her from the power of darkness. She gave her life to Jesus, we prayed a simple prayer, and she was delivered immediately.

Jesus died and rose again to save man from satan’s grip (1 John 3:8). It doesn’t matter if many forces of darkness are troubling you; if you call on Him, He will set you free. The man with the unclean spirit in the synagogue had one demon (Mark 1:23-26), Mary Magdalene had seven (Mark 16:9), and the madman of Gadara had a legion (Mark 5:1-15), and Jesus delivered all of them.

I declare your deliverance from the forces of darkness that might be tormenting you or anything that concerns you, in Jesus’ name.

Jesus has paid the price for your deliverance; begin to walk in it.

    PRAYER POINT

I walk in total deliverance in every area of my life, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 19: ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME

OPEN HEAVEN 12 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Reality of Spiritual Oppression

The Open Heaven devotional for today begins by highlighting biblical and modern examples of demonic oppression:

    1. Biblical Examples:
      • Israel at the Red Sea (Exodus 14). Facing annihilation, God delivered them supernaturally.
      • The Gadarene Demoniac (Mark 5:1-15). A man bound by a legion of demons was set free by Jesus’ word.
    2. Modern Testimony:
      • The woman who conducted electricity like an appliance – a bizarre manifestation of demonic bondage.

    Key Insight:

    • Demonic forces operate in varying intensities (1 demon, 7 demons, legions), but Christ’s authority over all is absolute (Colossians 2:15).
    • Oppression often manifests physically/emotionally (e.g., the woman’s electrical affliction).

    Application:
✔ Never normalize strange, persistent struggles—bring them to Jesus!
✔ Reject fear; demons tremble at His name (James 2:19).

    2. The Simplicity of Deliverance

    The woman’s deliverance came through:

    1. Surrender to Christ (“Give your life to Jesus”).
    2. A Simple Prayer (No lengthy rituals—just faith in His power).

    Biblical Parallels:

    • Paul and Silas (Acts 16:16-18). Delivered a girl through Christ’s name.
    • The Disciples (Luke 10:17). Demons submitted to Jesus’ authority delegated to them.

    Warning Against Overcomplication:

    • Deliverance isn’t about elaborate methods but faith in Christ’s finished work (1 John 3:8).

    Prayer Model:
“Jesus, I belong to You. Break every chain of darkness in my life now, by Your blood and authority!”

    3. The Scope of Christ’s Deliverance

Jesus’ power is universal and limitless:

    • One demon (Mark 1:23-26) → Obeyed immediately.
    • Seven demons (Mary Magdalene, Mark 16:9) → Completely freed.
    • Legions (Mark 5:9) → No match for His command.

    Encouragement:

    • No bondage is too strong, no addiction too deep, no curse too old for Jesus to break.
    • Your “Red Sea” is a setup for His glory (Exodus 14:13-14).

    Action Step:
✔ List areas of oppression (fear, sickness, generational patterns) and declare Psalm 124:7 over them: “Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers.”

    4. Walking in Deliverance

Salvation includes freedom from satanic grip (Luke 4:18). The devotional urges:

    1. Claim Your Deliverance (Galatians 5:1).
      • “Jesus has paid the price—walk in it!”
    2. Guard Your Liberty (1 Peter 5:8).
      • Avoid doors that reopened bondage (e.g., sin, occult involvement).

    Practical Safeguards:

    • Daily Word intake (John 8:32 – Truth sustains freedom).
    • Accountability (Ecclesiastes 4:12 – Fellowship strengthens).

    5. The Call to Proclaim Freedom

As delivered people, we’re commissioned to:

    • Testify (Mark 5:19 – The Gadarene shared his story).
    • Pray for others (James 5:16 – Confession and intercession bring breakthrough).

    Final Thought

“If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed!” (John 8:36)

    Action Steps:

    1. Renounce all ties to darkness (e.g., witchcraft, sinful habits).
    2. Plead the blood of Jesus over your life daily.
    3. Share your testimony to strengthen others.

“Your deliverance is not a request. It’s a blood-bought reality. Walk in it today!”

Open Heaven Devotional 11 March 2025: JESUS CARES

OPEN HEAVEN 11 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: JESUS CARES

    MEMORISE
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
    1 Peter 5:7

    READ: 1 Kings 17:1-16
And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
2 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,
3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
5 So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.
7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.
8 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,
9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 11 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

God cares deeply for all His children. In 2 Kings 4:1-7, we read about the widow of one of the sons of the prophets whose husband died and left her with a load of debt. When the creditor came and wanted to take her sons into bondage if she didn’t pay, she cried to Elisha, who told her to borrow many vessels and pour from the little bottle of oil that she had at home into them. The Great Provider stepped in, and she was able to pay off her debt and live off the proceeds of the oil she sold for the rest of her life.

In John 6:5-13, Jesus fed 5,000 men, not counting women and children, with a boy’s lunch. To show that He truly cared, He multiplied the lunch until everybody was fed and there were twelve baskets of leftovers.

These and many more stories show that Jesus truly cares. Jesus also cares about us, not just our needs.

He knows how fragile our human bodies are, and He wants us to be in good shape to do what He has called us to do. Years ago, there was a day l attended to people from 8:00am until 6:00pm when I managed to eat a little before attending our Bible study service. When I returned to my office, people were already waiting to see me. I kept praying for people until 10:30pm, and I was told there were ten more people waiting. By that time, my body was aching, and I was very tired. I asked God for what to do, and He said, “You don’t need to stand to pray for them. Sit down, touch their head, and let them go. They will receive their miracle.” I was surprised, and I said, “God, you mean I can talk to You, the Almighty, sitting down?” He replied that He has walked on the earth as a human, and He knows what it means to be tired.

Jesus knows our weak frame and cares deeply about us (Psalm 103:14). He is our High Priest who is touched with the feelings of our infirmities because He faced the same issues we now face (Hebrews 4:15). In today’s Bible reading, we see how God cared for His prophet throughout the famine; he wasn’t stranded at any point.

Beloved, put all your trust in God. He truly cares for you, and He will never leave you stranded.

    PRAYER POINT

Thank You, Jesus, for Your loving care.

    HYMN 5: BLESSED ASSURANCE

OPEN HEAVEN 11 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. God’s Provision in Desperate Times

Open Heaven devotional for today opens with two powerful examples of God’s care:

    1. The Widow’s Oil (2 Kings 4:1-7):
      • Facing debt and slavery, she obeyed Elisha’s unusual instruction.
      • God multiplied her meager oil, turning scarcity into abundance.
    2. Feeding the 5,000 (John 6:5-13):
      • Jesus took a boy’s lunch and fed thousands, demonstrating His compassion and power.

    Key Lesson:

    • God’s care is not theoretical. It’s practical and timely.
    • He often uses what we already have (no matter how small) to meet our needs.

    Application:
✔ Identify your “little oil” or “five loaves”. What small resource can God multiply?
✔ Obey His instructions, even when they seem unconventional (e.g., borrowing empty jars).

    2. God Cares About Your Physical Well-Being

Today’s devotional shares a personal testimony of Pastor Adeboye’s exhaustion during ministry. God’s response was profound:

    • “You don’t need to stand to pray for them… I know what it means to be tired.”

    Biblical Foundation:

    • Jesus experienced human limitations (John 4:6 – He was weary from travel).
    • He understands our frailty (Psalm 103:14; Hebrews 4:15).

    Modern Application:

    • Burnout is not a spiritual badge of honor.
    • God permits rest and practical solutions (e.g., sitting while praying).

    Action Step:
✔ Balance zeal with wisdom. Listen to your body as God’s temple (1 Corinthians 6:19).

    3. God’s Sustenance in Famine (1 Kings 17:1-16)

Elijah’s story reveals God’s care during a national crisis:

    1. Ravens brought food (v. 4-6). Supernatural provision.
    2. A widow’s flour and oil never ran out (v. 14-16). Miraculous sustenance.

    Why This Matters:

    • Famine symbolizes life’s harsh seasons (financial, emotional, spiritual).
    • God has unique strategies for each trial (ravens for Elijah, a widow for the prophet).

    Encouragement:

    • Your “famine” is not a dead end. It’s a setup for divine supply.
    • God may use unexpected channels (e.g., ravens, a poor widow).

    Prayer:
“Lord, open my eyes to see Your unconventional provision in my crisis.”

    4. The Heart of God: A Caring Father

The devotional dispels the myth of a distant, indifferent God by highlighting:

    • His attentiveness (Matthew 10:29-31 – He notices sparrows and counts your hairs).
    • His empathy (Hebrews 4:15 – Jesus “sympathizes with our weaknesses”).
    • His commitment (Deuteronomy 31:6 – “He will never leave you nor forsake you”).

    Warning Against Self-Reliance:

    • Worry implies we doubt His care (Matthew 6:30).
    • Striving (like the widow trying to solve her debt alone) often precedes surrender.

    Application:
✔ Replace anxiety with trust: “Father, I cast this burden on You now.”

    5. Practical Steps to Experience God’s Care

    1. Acknowledge Your Need (Like the widow, cry out—2 Kings 4:1).
    2. Obey His Word (Act on Scripture and promptings, e.g., borrowing jars).
    3. Rest in His Understanding (Accept His accommodations for your limits).
    4. Testify of His Faithfulness (Share how He’s provided, reinforcing faith).

    Affirmation:
“My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory!” (Philippians 4:19)

Final Thought: You Are Never Stranded

The devotional’s closing promise “He will never leave you stranded” echoes biblical assurances:

    • Psalm 23:1“I shall not want.”
    • Isaiah 41:10“I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

“Look at the birds of the air… your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Matthew 6:26)

    Action Steps:

    1. Write down one area where you struggle to trust God’s care. Pray over it daily.
    2. Help someone in need—be God’s channel of provision.
    3. Memorize 1 Peter 5:7 as a weapon against worry.

“Your Father knows, your Father sees, your Father cares—and He’s already making a way!”

The daily devotion guide is written by Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Open Heaven Devotional 10 March 2025: THE GREAT INVITATION

OPEN HEAVEN 10 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: THE GREAT INVITATION

    MEMORISE
Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
    Isaiah 55:1

    READ: John 7:37-39
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 10 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

Jesus gave what many call ‘The Great Invitation’ to everyone (Matthew 11:28-30). He promised to give rest to everyone who comes to Him, and that includes you.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:31 that you should never worry. He wants you to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). He owns you, so He will take care of you.

The question now is, does Jesus really own you? Does He own the thoughts of your heart, the direction and focus of your eyes, and your resources? If He truly owns you, then you have nothing to worry about. However, if there are parts of your life that you haven’t surrendered totally to Him, then there’s cause for worry.

My Father in the Lord taught me that it is what your father has that he will take care of you with. If God is your Father and owner, then He will take care of you with pleasures forevermore because they are abundant at His right hand (Psalm 16:11). However, if the devil owns you and you do his will, he will take care of you with lies and torment because that is his speciality. When the devil owns a fellow, that fellow will always be I need, because true satisfaction can only be found in God.

The devil has nothing good to offer his own.

While he has slaves, God has sons, and as a son of the Most High, all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21). God is extending a great invitation to you today, just like the one Jesus extended to the crowd on the great day of the feast in today’s Bible reading. He is calling you to come and drink and to come and buy wine without money and without price. He is calling you to a life of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17).

I call heaven and earth to record this day… that / have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: Deuteronomy 30:19

The ball is in your court. Do not live in anxiety, fear, and confusion; accept the great invitation to surrender completely to God so you can enjoy all the goodies He has for His children.

When you choose life, you make the best choice, not only for yourself but also for generations after you. Beloved, accept God’s great invitation – choose life.

    REFLECTION

Are you choosing life with your thoughts, words, actions, and decisions?

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Joshua 18-20

HYMN 27: WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

OPEN HEAVEN 10 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Invitation to Rest and Provision

Jesus extends a universal call: “Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). This devotional emphasizes:

    • God’s ownership. If He owns you, He assumes responsibility for your needs (1 Peter 5:7).
    • The futility of worry. Anxiety contradicts trust in a Father who “knows what you need”(Matthew 6:31-32).

    Key Question:
    “Does Jesus truly own you?”

    • Your thoughts? (Proverbs 23:7)
    • Your vision? (Matthew 6:22-23)
    • Your resources? (Malachi 3:10)

    Application:
✔ Audit your life: What areas remain unsurrendered?
✔ Pray: “Lord, take full ownership of me today.”

    2. Two Fathers, Two Legacies

Open Heaven devotional for today contrasts divine and demonic ownership:

    God’s ChildrenDevil’s Slaves
Inherit “pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11)Endure “lies and torment” (John 8:44)
Enjoy “all things” (1 Corinthians 3:21)Live in “perpetual lack” (John 10:10a)
Walk in “righteousness, peace, and joy” (Romans 14:17)Suffer “fear and confusion” (2 Timothy 1:7)

    Warning:

    • Partial surrender creates “worry zones” where the enemy exploits doubt.

    Illustration:

    • A car with “Jesus owns me” stickers but no steering wheel surrendered is headed for collision.

    3. The Free Yet Costly Invitation

Isaiah 55:1 and John 7:37 highlight God’s offer:

    • Free“Without money and without price.”
    • Costly. Requires total surrender (Luke 14:33).

    Paradox Explained:

    • Grace is free, but discipleship demands “all your heart” (Matthew 22:37).
    • Example: The rich young ruler (Mark 10:21-22) valued possessions over Jesus’ offer.

    Application:
✔ What is God asking you to release to fully embrace His invitation?

    4. The Urgency of Choice

Deuteronomy 30:19 frames life as a binary decision:

    • Life and blessing → Surrender to God.
    • Death and cursing → Reject His lordship.

    Why Your Choice Matters:

    • It affects “you and your seed” (v. 19).
    • Generational blessings flow from obedience (Exodus 20:6).

    Modern Examples:

    • Families transformed by one member’s radical yes to Christ.
    • Nations reshaped by revival (e.g., Wales, 1904).

    5. How to Accept the Invitation

    1. Acknowledge Your Thirst (John 7:37).
      • Admit spiritual hunger beyond worldly fixes.
    2. Renounce Other “Waters” (Jeremiah 2:13).
      • Reject self-reliance, sin, idolatry.
    3. Drink Deeply of Christ (John 4:14).
      • Through Word, prayer, and obedience.
    4. Live as an Heir (Romans 8:17).
      • Claim your inheritance in Christ.

    Prayer of Response:
“Jesus, I choose LIFE today. I surrender every area—my mind, eyes, resources—to You. Fill me with Your Spirit, and let my legacy reflect Your glory. Amen.”

Final Thought: The Ripple Effect of Your Choice

Your decision to accept God’s invitation doesn’t just change your destiny – it alters your family line, your community, and eternity.

“Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart.” (Hebrews 3:15)

    Action Steps:

    1. List areas you’ve withheld from God. Write a surrender prayer over each.
    2. Share this invitation with someone wrestling with anxiety or indecision.
    3. Testify when breakthroughs come!

“You were made for His pleasure—now step into the joy of being fully owned by Him!”

Today’s Open Heaven devotional (9 March 2025) is CREATIVE MIRACLES

The daily devotion guide is written by Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Open Heaven Devotional 9 March 2025: CREATIVE MIRACLES

OPEN HEAVEN 9 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: CREATIVE MIRACLES

    MEMORISE
But Jesus beheld them and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
    Matthew 19:26

    READ: John 9:1-7
And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 9 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

Miracles are extraordinary events that defy natural and scientific explanations. Our God is a God of miracles, and He takes great delight in shocking doubters and sceptics. God does different kinds of miracles, but today, I will focus on His creative miracles.

God performs creative miracles when people have concluded that a terrible situation is beyond remedy – nothing is impossible for Him. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus and His disciples passed by a man who had been born blind, and the disciples asked Jesus about whose sin was responsible for the man’s predicament. Jesus told them that it wasn’t a question of sin but that the man’s condition was intended to bring God glory. Jesus spat on the ground, made some mud, and put it on the blind man’s eyes. He then told the man to go and wash, and after he washed off the mud, he came back seeing. That is what I call a creative miracle – a miracle involving the act of creation. If the doctors have said that you have an irreversible medical condition, God will recreate the part of your body that is affected, in Jesus’ name. This was what God did in 2 Kings 5:1-14 when He healed Naaman’s leprosy and made his flesh become like that of a newborn baby.

I have seen numerous cases of women who didn’t have a womb but who gave birth to babies. Some of them had multiple births more than once. God is able to handle genetic issues, change blood groups, replace missing body parts, and even increase or reduce people’s weights and heights.

A man who had childlike faith once sat listening to me. As miracles happened around the altar, he struggled to see all that was happening because his sight was blocked by people who were taller than him. He then said in his heart, “If only I was taller.” God heard him and told me that there was someone in the congregation who wished he was taller. He told me to tell the person to look down, and if he finds that his trousers have become shorter, he should know that there is nothing wrong with them because he is the one who had grown taller.

When it was time for testimonies, he came forward with his wife, who testified that her husband had indeed grown taller. How do you explain that? God’s creative power was at work to make the impossible possible.

I pray that God will give you creative miracles, in Jesus’ name.

    PRAYER POINT

Father, please stretch forth Your mighty hands to heal and do mighty wonders and creative miracles in my life and family, in Jesus’ name (Acts 4:30).

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Joshua 14-17

HYMN 25: THE GREAT PHYSICIANS NOW IS NEAR

OPEN HEAVEN 9 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Nature of Creative Miracles

Open Heaven devotional for today defines creative miracles as divine acts where God rewrites natural laws, creating or restoring what human ability cannot fix. Examples include:

    • Blind eyes formed from mud (John 9:6-7).
    • Leprous skin made “like a baby’s” (2 Kings 5:14).
    • Wombs birthed where none existed (like Sarah in Genesis 21:1-2).

    Key Insight:
Creative miracles often occur when medicine/science has declared a case hopeless. They showcase God’s sovereignty over biology, physics, and genetics.

    Application:
✔ Never accept “irreversible” diagnoses as final. God specializes in impossibilities (Luke 1:37).
✔ Pray with specificity for creative miracles (e.g., “Lord, recreate my damaged organs!”).

    2. Why God Performs Creative Miracles

Jesus clarified that the blind man’s condition existed “that the works of God should be made manifest” (John 9:3). Similarly:

    • Creative miracles glorify God, silencing skeptics (Psalm 98:1).
    • They validate His lordship over creation (Colossians 1:16-17).
    • They ignite faith in unbelievers (Acts 9:32-35 – Aeneas’ healing led to mass conversions).

    Modern Testimonies (Daddy Adeboye’s Account):

    • A man grew taller instantly defying biological limits.
    • Women without wombs conceived overturning medical verdicts.

    Lesson:
God still performs creative miracles today to prove His Word and power (Mark 16:20).

    3. How to Position Yourself for Creative Miracles

    a) Faith That Expects the Extraordinary

    • The blind man obeyed Jesus’ unusual instruction (washing mud off his eyes), demonstrating active faith (John 9:7).
    • Naaman initially resisted Elisha’s method (dipping in the Jordan), but obedience brought his miracle (2 Kings 5:13-14).

    Action Step:
✔ Don’t limit God to “logical” solutions. His ways defy human reasoning (Isaiah 55:8-9).

    b) Persistent Prayer and Declaration

    • The devotional emphasizes speaking God’s creative power over “irreversible” conditions.
    • Example: “Dry bones, live!” (Ezekiel 37:4-5).

    Prayer Strategy:
“Father, just as You formed Adam from dust, recreate ______ in my body. Let every cell align with Your original design, in Jesus’ name!”

    c) Testimony-Driven Expectation

    • Daddy Adeboye’s stories of womb creations and height increases build faith for similar miracles.
    • Revelation 12:11 teaches that testimonies overcome the devil.

    Application:
✔ Consume miracle testimonies to fuel your faith (Romans 10:17).

    4. Overcoming Doubt and Skepticism

Creative miracles often attract ridicule (e.g., Sarah laughed at God’s promise – Genesis 18:12-14). To combat doubt:

    1. Focus on God’s track record (Jeremiah 32:27).
    2. Ignore “expert” opinions that contradict Scripture (Proverbs 3:5-6).
    3. Like the man in the devotional, voice childlike requests (“If only I were taller…”).

    Warning:

    • Unbelief hinders miracles (Matthew 13:58).
    • Fear must surrender to faith (Mark 5:36).

    5. The Ultimate Purpose: Glory to God

    Every creative miracle points to:

    • God’s compassion (Mark 1:41).
    • His dominion over creation (Psalm 135:6).
    • His desire for intimacy (Miracles draw us closer to Him – John 6:26-29).

    Final Encouragement:
Your “impossible” situation is raw material for God’s creative power. Whether it’s:

    • A genetic disorder,
    • A missing organ, or
    • A stunted growth,

    Pray Boldly:
“Father, shock my skeptics! Do what only You can do, and let the world see Your glory through me!”

“Call unto Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)

    Action Steps:

    1. Identify an “impossible” area in your life.
    2. Speak creative Scriptures over it daily (e.g., Genesis 1:3; Psalm 139:14).
    3. Share past miracles to strengthen others’ faith.

“The God who formed galaxies from nothing is ready to recreate YOUR story!”

OPEN HEAVEN 8 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: ASK FOR MERCY

    MEMORISE
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
    Hebrews 4:16

    READ: Luke 18:10-14
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 8 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

A brilliant Bible study leader always taught married couples that when the wife is pregnant and is about to deliver, all they need do is bind all the bindables, loose all the loosables, command the baby to come out, and the baby will be delivered easily. When he got married, and his wife became pregnant and was about to deliver, he said the same prayers, but the baby did not come out. After his wife had been in labour for three days. he fell on his face and said, “God, just have mercy on me.” When he went back to see his wife, their baby had been delivered safely.

God is rich in mercy (Ephesians 2:4); His mercy is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him (Psalm 103:17). In Mark 1:40-42, a leper came to Jesus and said, “I know you can heal me if you are willing.” Jesus, moved with compassion, said, “I will,” and He did.

Beloved, when your prayers don’t seem to be answered, just ask God for mercy; He hardly ignores such a plea. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus told the story of two fellows who went to the temple to pray. One of them, a Pharisee, told God about all his good deeds; the other, a publican, bowed his head and said, “God be merciful to me, a sinner.” The man who cried for mercy was the one who returned home justified. When you ask for mercy, you acknowledge your helplessness before God, and He will respond to you with help. Bartimaeus’ cry for mercy reached Jesus’ ears, and he got his miracle. He didn’t only receive his sight; Jesus made him whole (Mark 10:46-52). The woman from Tyre and Sidon cried for mercy on behalf of her demon-possessed daughter, and Jesus helped her (Matthew 15:21-28). Those who ask God for mercy never leave empty-handed.

You need God’s mercy when things are good and when they are not so good. You need mercy when you are in need and when you are satisfied. When in need, God’s mercy will bring you answers to problems, and in good times, His mercy will preserve your blessings. The cry for mercy shouldn’t only be on the lips of those who are in trouble and need urgent help; even those who live in abundance and believe they don’t have problems must ask for mercy so nothing will tamper with their blessings.

    ACTION POINT

Go ahead and ask for mercy in every area of your life.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Joshua 11-13

HYMN 15: Pass Me Not O Gentle Saviour

OPEN HEAVEN 8 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Limits of Formulaic Faith

Open Heaven devotional for today opens with a striking story of a Bible teacher who confidently taught couples to “bind and loose” for easy childbirth – until his own wife’s prolonged labor humbled him. His eventual cry, “God, have mercy on me!” brought breakthrough.

    Key Lesson:

    • No spiritual formula replaces raw dependence on God.
    • Even “experts” in faith must sometimes abandon protocols for simple surrender (2 Corinthians 3:5).

    Modern Parallel:

    • Binding “strongholds” but ignoring repentance.
    • Declaring “healing” without seeking the Healer’s heart.

    Application:
✔ Balance spiritual authority with humility (James 4:6).
✔ When prayers “fail,” pivot to mercy (Lamentations 3:22).

    2. Mercy: The Gateway to Justification

Jesus’ parable in Luke 18 contrasts two prayers:

    1. The Pharisee’s prideful recital of deeds (v. 11-12).
    2. The tax collector’s cry: “God, be merciful to me, a sinner!” (v. 13).

Result: Only the tax collector was “justified” (declared righteous).

    Why Mercy Triumphs:

    • Acknowledges human helplessness (Psalm 51:17).
    • Appeals to God’s nature, not human merit (Exodus 34:6-7).

    Application:
✔ Replace self-righteous prayers with cries for mercy.
✔ Let desperation, not dignity, shape your petitions (Mark 10:47-48).

    3. Biblical Case Studies of Mercy’s Power

Today’s devotional highlights three mercy-seekers who received miracles:

    1. The Leper (Mark 1:40-42): “If You are willing…”. Jesus’ compassion healed him.
    2. Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46-52): “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy!”. Sight restored.
    3. Canaanite Woman (Matthew 15:21-28): “Lord, help me!”. Daughter delivered.

    Pattern Observed:

    • Mercy-prayers bypassed religious elitism.
    • They triggered Jesus’ compassion, not just His power.

    Application:
✔ In crises, simplify your prayer: “Lord, have mercy!”
    ✔ Persist like Bartimaeus—ignore “hushers” (Mark 10:48).

    4. Mercy for All Seasons

The devotional for today stresses that mercy isn’t just for emergencies:

    • In lack: Mercy provides (Psalm 123:2-3).
    • In abundance: Mercy preserves (Jude 1:21).

    Example:

    • Job’s post-restoration fear: “Lord, keep Your mercy on my household” (Job 1:5).

    Warning:

    • Pride in blessings invites downfall (Proverbs 16:18).
    • Continuous mercy-cries safeguard grace (1 Peter 5:5).

    Application:
✔ Daily pray: “Lord, let Your mercy go before me” (Psalm 59:10).

    5. How to Cry for Mercy Effectively

    1. Posture Matters:
      • Like the tax collector, bow your heart (Luke 18:13).
    2. Words Matter:
      • “Have mercy” (Greek: eleēson) implies active compassion.
    3. Timing Matters:
      • Preemptively (in peace) and reactively (in crisis).

    Prayer Template:
“Lord Jesus, I abandon my self-sufficiency. Have mercy on me! Meet me at my point of need, and preserve all You’ve given me. Amen.”

Final Thought: Mercy as Your Lifeline

The devotional’s core message? God’s throne is a “throne of grace” (Hebrews 4:16), not a courtroom of scrutiny. When you cry for mercy:

    • You activate His covenant love (Psalm 136).
    • You silence the accuser (Revelation 12:10).
    • You unlock what faith alone cannot (Matthew 15:22-28).

“It is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.” (Romans 9:16)

    Action Step:

    • Today, replace one “demanding” prayer with a cry for mercy.
    • Testify when breakthrough comes!

“His mercy is more—stronger than darkness, deeper than your sin!”

I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
    1 Corinthians 11:31

    READ: 1 Corinthians 11:23-34
23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 6 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

When you partake of the Holy Communion, you are eating Jesus’ body and drinking His blood, as we read in today’s Bible reading. You are not just touching his body and blood, you are ingesting Him, and you can boldly say to anyone, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

When I was an interpreter for my Father in the Lord, I usually looked forward to Holy Communion services. Then, we partook of the Holy Communion once every year, and I was always excited because I knew that my spiritual battery would be recharged.

Papa would be preaching, and I would be interpreting, thinking to myself, “Papa, please hurry up so we can get to the Communion.” By the time we finally got around to drinking the wine, I usually had to control myself from dropping the cup because I would be shaking from head to toe. I cherish partaking of the Communion so much because I always experience a new infilling of the Holy Spirit every time I drink the wine.

    The Holy Communion is not an ordinary meal;

the moment God’s minister blesses the breac and the wine, using the words of Jesus Christ in 1 Corinthians 11:24-26, they become sacred.

The wine in the Communion represents the blood of Jesus, and this blood cleanses from all sin. The blood also causes every evil to pass over us as it did with the Israelites on the night the destroyer killed all the firstborns in Egypt (Exodus 12:21-30). This means that the blood

oT Jesus erotects us and erents us victory oven the enemy (Revelation 12:11). This is why those who drink it unworthily in sin) fall sick and die (1 Corinthians 11:27-30). Those who drink it worthily experience a resurrection power from within, producing healing, deliverance, intimacy with God, and more.

When you take the Holy Communion, you have come to dine at the table of the King of kings, and it is important that you do not have anything that will mark you as an enemy of the King as you approach His table. Ensure that you examine yourself and get rid of anything that would expose you to the wrath of the King. Get rid of sin, doubt, and everything that would not allow the power in Christ’s body and blood to manifest in your life.

    ACTION POINT

Let go of everything that will not allow the power of God in the Holy Communion to manifest in your life.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Joshua 5-7

HYMN 28: WHAT CAN WASH AWAY MY STAIN

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 6 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Profound Significance of Holy Communion

Open Heaven devotional for today underscores that Communion is not a ritual but a supernatural encounter with Christ’s body and blood (1 Corinthians 10:16).

    • It’s ingestion, not just symbolism: When we partake, we internalize Jesus’ sacrifice (John 6:53-56).
    • It’s empowerment: Like a “spiritual battery recharge,” it renews our spiritual vitality (Psalm 103:5).

    Personal Testimony (Daddy Adeboye’s Experience):

    • The trembling awe he felt during Communion reflects reverence for Christ’s tangible presence.
    • The annual practice (now more frequent in many churches) highlights its sacredness, not routine.

    Application:
✔ Approach Communion with expectancy, not habit.
✔ Declare its power: “Greater is He in me than he in the world!” (1 John 4:4).

    2. The Blood and Body: Protection and Victory

    The elements carry covenant power:

    1. The Bread (Christ’s Body):
      • Healing (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24).
      • Unity with Christ and the Church (1 Corinthians 10:17).
    2. The Wine (Christ’s Blood):
      • Cleansing from sin (1 John 1:7).
      • Protection from evil (Exodus 12:13; Revelation 12:11).
      • Victory over the enemy (Colossians 2:15).

Warning: Unworthy participation (without repentance) invites judgment (1 Corinthians 11:27-30).

    Illustration:

    • Just as the Passover blood spared Israel (Exodus 12), Christ’s blood shields believers today.

    Application:
✔ Before Communion, confess and repent of all known sin (1 John 1:9).
✔ Claim the blood’s protection over your life daily.

    3. The Danger of Unworthy Participation

    Paul’s warning (1 Corinthians 11:29-30) is stark:

    • “Discerning the Lord’s body” means recognizing its holiness and purpose.
    • Unworthily partaking is disrespecting Christ’s sacrifice, leading to weakness, sickness, or even death.

    Modern Parallels:

    • Treating Communion as a “tradition” rather than a covenant act.
    • Harboring unrepentant sin while partaking (e.g., bitterness, pride, immorality).

    Call to Action:
✔ “Examine yourself” (1 Corinthians 11:28) before taking Communion.
✔ Restore broken relationships (Matthew 5:23-24).

    4. The Transformational Power of Communion

For those who partake in faith and purity, Communion releases:

    1. Resurrection Life (John 6:54) – Renewed spiritual strength.
    2. Divine Health (Psalm 105:37) – Healing for physical ailments.
    3. Intimacy with God (John 15:4-5) – Deeper fellowship.

    Daddy Adeboye’s Emphasis:

    • The “shaking” he experienced signifies the Holy Spirit’s tangible infilling.
    • Communion is a table of grace, but also a place of divine scrutiny.

    Application:
✔ Pray before Communion to sensitize your spirit.
✔ Journal testimonies of breakthroughs post-Communion.

    5. Practical Preparation for Communion

    1. Repentance: Confess sins (1 Corinthians 11:31).
    2. Faith: Believe in its power (Mark 11:24).
    3. Reverence: Dress and act honorably (Ecclesiastes 5:1).
    4. Thanksgiving: Gratitude for Christ’s sacrifice (Psalm 100:4).

    Prayer Focus:
“Lord, purify my heart as I approach Your table. Let Your body and blood work in me—healing, delivering, and empowering me to live for Your glory. Amen.”

    Final Thought: Communion as Warfare

    Every time you partake, you:

    • Proclaim Christ’s victory over Satan (1 Corinthians 11:26).
    • Activate angelic assistance (Hebrews 1:14).
    • Seal your covenant with God (Jeremiah 31:31-34).

“The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you!” (Romans 8:11)

    Action Step:

    • Next Communion, partake with awareness of its power, not ritual.
    • Rebuke sickness, lack, and oppression in Jesus’ name as you eat and drink.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good!” (Psalm 34:8)
