    TOPIC: ALWAYS REFILL IV

    MEMORISE:

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
    Colossians 3:16

    READ: Joshua 1:6-9

6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 14 AUGUST 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Over the past three days, I discussed the importance of always getting refilled with the anointing. Today and in the next few days, I will discuss ways by which believers can be refilled.

As God’s child, you must ensure that your spiritual fervency and passion for the things of God do not reduce. The word of God is a potent tool for recharging your spiritual battery, and this is why you must spend quality time studying, memorising, and meditating on the Scriptures daily.

Nowadays, many Christians do not memorise Scriptures because everything is now digital. If someone needs to refer to a Bible passage, the fellow can just search for it through Google and other search engines. Once the fellow types a bit of the verse as a search term, immediately, the passage comes up on the screen. While digitisation is good, it is important to meditate on Scriptures and know some of them by heart, as this will prepare you to face anything the enemy brings your way.

In Matthew 4:1-11, Jesus overcame the devil’s temptations by quoting Scriptures. There were no search engines at that time, and He didn’t need them – He knew God’s word by heart because He had meditated on them and memorised them. My Father in the Lord wasn’t formally educated, yet he knew a lot of Scriptures by heart. If he could memorise the Scriptures, so can you.

In John 6:63, Jesus said that the words He speaks to us are spirit and life. Therefore, the more of His words you take in, the more spirit-filled you will be. God’s word is powerful; it is alive and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). As you fill yourself with His word, He will show you things, relationships, and places that can quickly drain your spiritual battery and puncture your faith.

One way to know if you are really filled with God’s word is to check your conversations.

Matthew 12:34 says that it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks. If your heart is filled with God’s word, your mouth will be filled with His word too. The more you study God’s word, the more like Him you will become (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Beloved, become addicted to studying, memorising, and meditating on God’s word and you will be spiritually vibrant at all times. I pray that you will never lose your fervency and passion for the things of God, in Jesus’ name.

    REFLECTION

How often do you study, memorise, and meditate on God’s word?

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Jeremiah 33-36

    HYMN 3: ANCIENT WORDS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 14 AUGUST 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Colossians 3:16

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
This verse reveals Scripture saturation as God’s prescribed method for continuous spiritual refilling—not occasional study but rich indwelling that transforms speech and conduct.

    BIBLE READING: Joshua 1:6-9

God’s charge to Joshua unveils four dimensions of word-based empowerment:

    1. v.6-7Courage (“Be strong… observe to do according to all the law”)
    2. v.8aMeditation (“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth”)
    3. v.8bObedience (“That thou mayest observe to do…”)
    4. v.9Fearlessness (“The LORD thy God is with thee”)

The Word as Your Refilling Station

Daddy Adeboye’s teaching presents three transformative practices for spiritual recharge:

    1. Digital Dependence vs. Heart Storage

    Digital ChristianityWord-Saturated Believer
Google searches versesRecites Scriptures from memory (Psalm 119:11)
    Surface-level readingChews Scripture day/night (Joshua 1:8)
Easily shaken in crisisStands firm like Jesus (Matthew 4:4-10)

    Key Example:

    • Jesus in the wilderness: Quoted Deuteronomy from memory—no Bible apps needed

    2. The Word’s Transformative Power

    • Spiritual DNA Rewrite:
      • Input: Daily Scripture intake → Output: Christlike speech (Matthew 12:34)
      • Process: Meditation changes what you see (Psalm 119:18) and who you become (2 Corinthians 3:18)

    3. Life-Giving Nutrition (John 6:63)

    • Not just information but Spirit-empowered revelation:
      • Weakness? Feed on Isaiah 40:31
      • Fear? Digest Joshua 1:9
      • Sin? Apply Psalm 119:9

    How to Stay Word-Filled

    1. The 3-M Diet (Joshua 1:8)

    • Memorize: 1 verse weekly (start with Colossians 3:16)
    • Mutter: Speak it aloud during idle moments (Deuteronomy 6:7)
    • Meditate: Ask:
      • What does this reveal about God?
      • How must I change?

    2. Create Word Triggers

    • Phone wallpaper: Rotating Scripture images
    • Alarm reminders: 3x daily verse prompts
    • Car confession: Declare Scriptures during commutes

    3. Practice “Spiritual Dentistry”

    • Morning: Chew one verse (like holy gum)
    • Noon: Swallow its meaning (pray it in)
    • Night: Digest its application (journal insights)

    Prayer for Word Saturation

“Father, make Your word my addiction! Burn it into my heart like Jeremiah (Jeremiah 20:9). Let it dwell in me so richly that my conversations heal, my prayers pierce darkness, and my life radiates Christ, in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps

    1. Start a “Verse Wallet”: Write 7 power verses on cards—carry one daily
    2. Digital Detox: For every 30 mins on social media, spend 10 mins on Scripture
    3. Accountability Challenge: Partner with someone to recite 1 memorized verse daily

    Conclusion: The Walking Bible

Daddy Adeboye’s life proves: Scripture memory isn’t for scholars—it’s survival gear for spiritual warriors.

“Your Bible app is useful, but your heart storage is un-hackable. Store enough Word there, and you’ll never run on empty.”

    TOPIC: ALWAYS REFILL III

    MEMORISE:

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
    Galatians 5:16

    READ: Galatians 5:13-25

13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 13 AUGUST 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

I will continue this series by discussing one more reason it Is very important to get refilled with the anointing.

Sometimes, the reason you need to get refilled is not that you are exhausted or the anointing has been depleted after a period of intense spiritual activity but that your flesh rose above your spirit for a moment. When you are angry, for instance, you may not hear God speak because your flesh has risen above your spirit.

In such a period, you can cause some harm, as Elisha did in 2 Kings 2:23-24. Therefore, if you have been well-trained by God, the anointing will likely be dormant for that season to avoid causing a problem that you will later regret.

In 2 Kings 3:11-16, some kings came to meet Elisha, and he got angry with one of them.

Afterwards, when he needed to prophesy, he had to call a minstrel to play so there could be a refilling. Before long, the man of God could say, “Thus saith the Lord” again. I have observed that whenever the flesh rises above the spirit, there will be a need to retreat into an atmosphere of worship. In that atmosphere, as the Lord descends on you, He will refill you again.

Another major route through which the flesh rises above the spirit in many ministers is in the area of overconfidence. Despite Jesus’ warning that he would deny Him, Peter felt so confident in himself that instead of praying for spiritual strength to avoid that, he told Jesus that he could never do such a thing, and he eventually denied Him (Matthew 26:69-75).

Whenever you start feeling overly confident in your abilities and attributing what you have achieved to your hard work and sacrifices, the enemy is setting you up for a great fall, and you need to retreat and retrace your steps.

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18

Beloved, whenever your flesh rises above your spirit, run to God and ask for mercy, and He will graciously restore you. After Jesus’ resurrection, He went to Peter’s old place of work to refill him. He prepared a meal, fed him, and recommissioned him into the ministry (John 21:1-17). When your flesh rises above your spirit, go on a retreat and receive a fresh infilling of the anointing so that you can overcome the weaknesses of the flesh and fulfil God’s purpose for your life.

OPEN HEAVEN 13 AUGUST KEY POINT

Whenever your flesh rises above your spirit, run to God for a fresh infilling of the anointing.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Jeremiah 31-32

HYMN 34: YIELD NOT TO TEMPTATION

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 13 AUGUST 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Galatians 5:16

“Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
This verse presents the divine antidote to fleshly dominance—continuous Spirit-infused living that overrides carnal impulses.

    BIBLE READING: Galatians 5:13-25

    Paul’s contrast reveals:

    • v.19-21Flesh works (anger, pride, strife)
    • v.22-23Spirit fruits (love, peace, meekness)
    • v.25: The solution—live and walk in the Spirit

When the Flesh Overpowers the Spirit

Daddy Adeboye’s teaching exposes three dangerous moments requiring urgent refilling:

    1. Anger’s Blackout (2 Kings 3:11-16)

    • Elisha’s Case:
      • Flesh took over: Angry at Jehoram (v.13)
      • Anointing paused: Needed minstrel’s worship to reactivate (v.15)
    • Modern Parallel:
      • Pastoral rage silences God’s voice
      • Solution: Worship until the Spirit resurfaces

    2. Pride’s Deception (Matthew 26:33-35)

    • Peter’s Fall:
      • Overconfidence: “I’ll never deny You!”
      • Result: Threefold denial (John 18:17-27)
    • Warning Sign:
      • Taking credit for miracles (“My preaching healed them”)

    3. The Flesh-Spirit See-Saw

    Flesh AscendantSpirit Ascendant
Anger controls you (Proverbs 29:11)Self-control flourishes (Galatians 5:23)
Pride in achievements (Daniel 4:30)Humility in service (John 3:30)
    Ministerial burnoutSustainable anointing

    How to Regain Spiritual Ascendancy

    1. Immediate Damage Control

    • When you fail:
      1. Repent quickly (1 John 1:9)
      2. Fast 1 meal to reset spiritually
      3. Listen to worship (like Elisha’s minstrel)

    2. Cultivate Flesh-Alarms

    • Daily Check:
      • “Am I feeling irritable today?” → Extra prayer
      • “Did I just boast?” → Psalm 75:6 confession

    3. Adopt Jesus’ Restoration Model (John 21:15-17)

    • Peter’s Refill:
      • Location: Back to fishing boats (humility ground zero)
      • Process: Threefold love confession cancels threefold denial
      • Result: Pentecostal power (Acts 2:14)

    Prayer for Flesh Crucifixion

*”Father, electrocute my fleshly nature! Where I’ve operated in anger or pride, flood me with fresh oil. Make me allergic to self-sufficiency and addicted to Your presence, until only Christ is seen in me (Galatians 2:20), in Jesus’ name!”*

    Action Steps

    1. Create a “Flesh-Fast” List:
      • Identify 3 flesh triggers (e.g., criticism, success)
      • For each: Memorize 1 Scripture weapon (e.g., James 1:20 for anger)
    2. Implement the “3-3-3 Rule”:
      • When flesh rises:
        • 3 minutes of tongues
        • 3 verses of Psalm 51
        • 3 kneelings in surrender
    3. Monthly Humility Exercise:
      • Serve anonymously (e.g., clean church toilets)
      • Give credit to others publicly (“Sister A prayed for this miracle”)

    Conclusion: Stay Spiritually Dominant

Daddy Adeboye’s warning is clear: Unchecked flesh doesn’t just embarrass—it disqualifies. But those who:

    • Routinely refill
    • Radically repent
    • Relentlessly rely on the Spirit

…will reign like Elisha post-mistake—with double portion power!

“Your worst flesh moment can become your greatest anointing portal—if you let God refill you there.”

    MEMORISE:

And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
    Mark 6:31

    READ: Luke 9:1-10

1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
3 And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
4 And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.
5 And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
    7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead;
8 And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.
9 And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.
10 And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 12 AUGUST 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Yesterday, I started a discussion about the importance of getting refilled with the anointing after moments of intense spiritual exercise. Another time you need to get a refill is when you are exhausted. In 1 Kings 19:5-8, when Elijah was tired, having been on the run from Jezebel, he told God to kill him. God said,

“No, I don’t bury my wounded; I feed them. When they are weary, I refill them.” He gave him food to eat, and Elijah ate and fell asleep again. Interestingly, the man who said ‘kill me’ didn’t say ‘I’m not eating.’ God woke him the second time and gave him a second ration.

Clearly, what he needed was rest and food to continue the journey. After eating, Elijah went in the strength of that food for forty days and nights. When you refill, you have the capacity and strength to go farther in God.

In today’s Bible reading, after the disciples returned from the missionary journey that Jesus sent them on, they gave Him great news about all the things the anointing did. Then, Jesus took them aside to a private place so they could rest. When virtue leaves a fellow, it has an impact on the body; if that fellow does not rest, he or she may become too weak to do more. Jesus knew this, so after performing many miracles, He would retreat to solitary places to refill, as I mentioned yesterday. He could consistently do great works because He always took time out to refill. He said that His followers would do greater works than He did (John 14:12), and this means they must also refill constantly as He did.

If you load a battery into a torch light and use it for one hour, you should allow it to rest for another hour so that it will last much longer, rather than using it continuously. Similarly, if you always take out time to rest appropriately, you will be able to do much more for God.

Beloved, do not think you are indispensable such that you keep using your spiritual battery even when you know that you are exhausted.

You might discover the hard way, like Elijah, that there are others who can easily take your place (I Kings 19:15-16). Find those people now and train them so that they can join you in doing some of the work. Don’t always wait until you are exhausted to get refilled, and if you are already exhausted, take a retreat now to get refilled.

OPEN HEAVEN 12 AUGUST KEY POINT

Ensure that you rest regularly so you can always do more.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Jeremiah 28-30

HYMN 19: ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 12 AUGUST 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Mark 6:31

“And He said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.”
This verse reveals divine wisdom for sustainable ministry—Jesus prioritized rest and refilling for Himself and His disciples.

    BIBLE READING: Luke 9:1-10

This passage shows two sides of spiritual labor:

    1. v.1-6Power outflow (disciples healing and preaching)
    2. v.10Essential withdrawal (Jesus taking them aside to rest)

    The Necessity of Spiritual Refills

Daddy Adeboye’s teaching highlights three critical truths about exhaustion and renewal:

    1. Elijah’s Breakdown and Recovery (1 Kings 19:5-8)

    • Crisis Point: “Kill me” (v.4) → Divine Response: “Eat and rest” (v.5-7)
    • Result: One meal fueled 40 days of supernatural endurance
    • Key LessonPhysical replenishment enables spiritual resilience

    2. Jesus’ Ministry Rhythm (Luke 5:16, Mark 6:31)

    • Pattern:
      • Public miracles → Private retreats
      • Disciples sent out → Disciples called back
    • Modern Parallel:
      • Preaching Sunday → Rest Monday
      • Crusade week → Post-crusade fast

    3. The Battery Principle

    • Torchlight Example:
      • Continuous use = Short lifespan
      • Cycled use = Long-term effectiveness
    • Spiritual Application:
      • 50% labor + 50% refill = Sustainable anointing

    How to Practice Divine Refilling

    1. Recognize Your Depletion Signals

    • Spiritual: Prayer feels dry, Scripture seems dull
    • Emotional: Short temper, discouragement
    • Physical: Chronic fatigue, illness proneness

    2. Implement Jesus’ Retreat Model

    • Daily: 30 minutes of silent worship (Psalm 131:2)
    • Weekly: Half-day digital detox (no phone, no ministry)
    • Seasonal: 3-day prayer retreat after major events

    3. Develop Your “Elishas” (2 Kings 2:9)

    • Identify 2-3 potential successors
    • Train them through:
      • Prayer walks
      • Bible study mentorship
      • Gradual ministry delegation

    Prayer for Sustainable Anointing

“Father, break my messiah complex! Teach me to work like Elijah on Carmel but rest like Elijah under the broom tree. Make my life a cycle of fruitful labor and forced rest, that I may finish strong like Paul (2 Timothy 4:7), in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps

    1. Schedule “No Ministry” Days: Block 1 day monthly for zero spiritual labor
    2. Create a Refill Playlist: Curate worship songs only for your personal renewal
    3. Practice “Sabbath Sleep”: Every Sunday afternoon, take a 2-hour nap as holy habit

    Conclusion: The Long-Distance Anointing

Daddy Adeboye’s wisdom echoes Scripture: God’s marathon runners aren’t judged by their speed but by their staying power.

    TOPIC: ALWAYS REFILL I

    MEMORISE

Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
    Mark 14:38

    READ: 1 Kings 19:1-4

1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.
2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.
3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.
4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 11 AUGUST 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In today’s Bible reading, after Elijah had called down fire on Mount Carmel, lots of virtue had gone out of him, and he needed to refill. He had just won a victory, and a revival had started, but he got down from the mountain to discover that Jezebel was as unrepentant as before. However, because the anointing upon Him was now depleted, he couldn’t stand to face her, so he fled.

Sometimes, people do mighty things with the anointing, thinking that is all, but not long after they are done, they discover that more things that need the anointing are waiting. A fellow can raise the dead in church, and people will rejoice; however, when that fellow gets home, there may be another problem waiting to be solved with the anointing. This is why it is important to recharge your spiritual batteries as soon as possible every time you use the anointing.

Many pastors host programmes, and when hosting the programmes, they fast and pray.

However, the moment the programme is over, they begin to feast and do not allow God to refill them with His anointing. By the following Sunday, people discover that it is not the same fellow who ministered the previous Sunday that is ministering because the anointing had been depleted and had not been refilled.

Fasting and all other ways to become filled with the anointing are not to end when programmes end; they are to be a lifestyle.

After periods of high spiritual activity where a lot of the anointing is used up, it is important to be refilled to at least the level that you were before, if not even higher.

Beloved, you must remain vigilant and sensitive at all times because you have an enemy who never takes a break. He always goes around like a roaring lion, seeking whom to devour (1 Peter 5:8). Have you just had a great victory? It is not time to let your guard down; it is time to return to the secret place to recharge and refill. It is time to guard your heart with all diligence so you can remain fit and relevant for God’s next agenda. The Bible recorded many instances where Jesus retreated to refill. For example, after a major ministration in Mark 1:34, the next verse says that He retreated into a solitary place to pray.

He’s our perfect model, and we must do the same to remain relevant in God’s kingdom.

OPEN HEAVEN 11 AUGUST KEY POINT

After every victory, retreat into God’s presence for a refill.

“Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.”
This verse underscores post-victory vulnerability—the critical need for spiritual vigilance after great anointing outflows.

    BIBLE READING: 1 Kings 19:1-4

    Elijah’s post-Carmel collapse reveals:

    • v.2: Jezebel’s threat exploited his drained state
    • v.3: He fled instead of standing firm
    • v.4: He prayed for death—a radical contrast to his fire-calling faith

    The Anointing Refill Principle

Daddy Adeboye’s teaching exposes three vital truths about spiritual recharge:

    1. The Elijah Syndrome

    • Carmel High → Jezebel Low
      • Cause: Used all his anointing without immediate refill
      • LessonNo reservoir = No resilience (Proverbs 24:10)

    2. Jesus’ Model (Mark 1:35-37)

    • After healing multitudes (v.34) → Withdrew to pray (v.35)
    • Divine RhythmGive out → Take in → Give out again

    3. Modern Ministry Pitfalls

    • Programme Mentality:
      • Fasting for events but feasting after
      • Result: Empty pulpits on regular Sundays

    How to Maintain Overflow

    1. Schedule Spiritual IV Drips

    • After every outflow:
      • 24-hour prayer retreat (like Jesus)
      • Scripture immersion (Jeremiah 15:16)

    2. Recognize Drain Symptoms

    • Emotional: Irritability (like Moses in Numbers 20:10)
    • Spiritual: Formulaic prayers (no fresh unction)
    • Physical: Exhaustion masking as “sacrifice”

    3. Build Anointing Reserves

    • Daily Habits:
      • Tongues (1 Corinthians 14:18)
      • Worship (Psalm 92:1-2)
      • Silence (Psalm 46:10)

    Prayer for Sustained Anointing

“Father, make me addicted to Your presence! After every spiritual assignment, drag me back to the secret place. Let my ‘Carmels’ never end in collapse, but in greater refills, until I’m unstoppably anointed for life, in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps

    1. Post-Ministry Protocol: After next sermon/healing, fast 1 meal to recharge
    2. Anointing Journal: Record depletion signs and refill methods that work for you
    3. Accountability Partner: Have someone check your spiritual vitality weekly

    Conclusion: The Refilled Life

Daddy Adeboye’s warning is clear: Anointing without maintenance leads to ministry malpractice.

“Your last miracle is only as powerful as your next prayer session. Stay plugged in!”

    TOPIC: DON’T ALLOW DISCOURAGEMENT

    MEMORISE

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
    1 Samuel 30:6

    READ: Numbers 11:4-17

4 And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?
5 We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:
6 But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.
7 And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium.
8 And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.
9 And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.
10 Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the Lord was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.

11 And Moses said unto the Lord, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?
12 Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?
13 Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.
14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.

15 And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.
16 And the Lord said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.
17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 10 AUGUST 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In today’s Bible reading, the Israelites were murmuring and weeping, saying, “We want meat; we are tired of eating manna.” They had been murmuring consistently for 40 years, and Moses had been coping, but this time around, he told God,

“I didn’t give birth to these people. Why are You asking me to carry their burden? Kill me because I’m tired of all this.”

God replied, “Since you say the burden is too much, get me 70 men, and I’ll take of the spirit on you and put it on them.”

When you think about the fact that the anointing upon Moses was divided by 70, you’ll realise that the new Moses was less anointed than the previous one. Because of this, not long after that, in Numbers 20:7-12, the man God Himself described as the meekest man on the earth (Numbers 12:3) erupted in anger. The anointing that had allowed him to cope for 40 years had been depleted due to his words during a time of discouragement.

Discouragement can make people say things that would limit them in life and negatively impact their destiny.

Elijah also allowed his words in a time of discouragement to put an abrupt end to his ministry. After calling down fire on Mount Carmel, Jezebel threatened him, and he fled.

He became so discouraged as he ran away that he asked God to kill him. Thankfully, God didn’t fulfil his wish; instead, He sent an angel to feed him (1 Kings 19:1-8). Afterwards, however, He gave him his last assignment to anoint Jehu, Hazael, and Elisha, his replacement (1 Kings 19:15-16). His ministry ended when he allowed discouragement to make him say the wrong things. John the Baptist also got so discouraged that he began to doubt everything he had earlier declared.

He had declared concerning Jesus, “Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). Yet, he was the same person who sent his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the One to come or should we look for another?” (Luke 7:19-20). Not long after that, he was beheaded (Luke 9:7-9).

Beloved, while you cannot stop discouraging circumstances from happening, you can choose how to respond to them. Like David, you can encourage yourself in the Lord, as seen in today’s memory verse. God is able to keep you from falling (Jude 1:24). He is also able to give you a mighty turnaround, but you must put your trust in Him. He is more than able to see you through any discouraging circumstances that may come your way.

OPEN HEAVEN 10 AUGUST KEY POINT

Do not allow discouragement to make you say the wrong things.

HYMN 21: STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF CHRIST MY KING

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 10 AUGUST 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: 1 Samuel 30:6

“And David was greatly distressed… but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.”
This verse reveals the antidote to discouragement—not denial of pain, but active faith that turns to God in crisis.

    BIBLE READING: Numbers 11:4-17

This passage exposes three dangers of discouragement:

    1. v.4-6Complaint corrupts memory (forgetting God’s miracles)
    2. v.10-11Frustration distorts perspective (Moses’ death wish)
    3. v.16-17Compromise dilutes anointing (the 70-elders “solution”)

    The High Cost of Discouragement

Daddy Adeboye’s teaching traces how discouragement sabotaged giants of faith:

    1. Moses: The Depleted Anointing (Numbers 11:17)

    • 40 Years of Patience → One Moment of Despair
    • Result:
      • Lost exclusive access to God (Numbers 12:8 → 20:12)
      • Forfeited Promised Land entry

    2. Elijah: The Premature Exit (1 Kings 19:4)

    • After Mount Carmel Victory → Jezebel’s Threat
    • Fatal Words“Take my life”
    • Consequence:
      • Anointed his replacement (Elisha)
      • Ministry ended abruptly (2 Kings 2:11)

    3. John the Baptist: The Faith Collapse (Luke 7:19)

    • From Bold Proclamation → Doubtful Question
    • Outcome: Beheaded without seeing Christ’s resurrection

    How to Overcome Discouragement

    1. Follow David’s Pattern (1 Samuel 30:6)

    • Step 1Acknowledge distress (“David was greatly distressed”)
    • Step 2Self-leadership (“encouraged himself”)
    • Step 3Divine focus (“in the LORD his God”)

    2. Guard Your Words (Proverbs 18:21)

    • Moses’ Mistake“Kill me!” (Numbers 11:15)
    • Better Response“Lord, I’m overwhelmed—show me Your way” (Exodus 33:13)

    3. Reframe Your Perspective

    • Israel’s Error: Saw manna as boring (Numbers 11:6)
    • Truth: It was angelic food (Psalm 78:25)!

    Prayer for Unshakable Faith

*”Father, make me discouragement-proof! When storms come, let my first response be to encourage myself in You. Renew my anointing like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31), and silence every death-wish word trying to escape my lips, in Jesus’ name!”*

    Action Steps

    1. Create a “Faith Bank”: Write down 10 past victories—read them when discouraged
    2. Fast from Complaints: Go 24 hours without murmuring (Philippians 2:14)
    3. Prophesy Life: When tempted to speak despair, declare Psalm 27:13-14 aloud

    Conclusion: The Encouraged Remnant

Daddy Adeboye’s warning is clear: Discouragement is a thief of destiny, but those who encourage themselves in God:

    • Preserve their anointing (unlike Moses)
    • Extend their ministry (unlike Elijah)
    • Die with faith intact (unlike John the Baptist)

“Your darkest hour is God’s setup for your greatest comeback—if you don’t speak defeat over it.”

    TOPIC: AVOID LEAKAGES

    MEMORISE

Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.
    Song of Solomon 2:15

    READ: Judges 16:1-21

1 Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her.
2 And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him.
3 And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.
4 And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
5 And the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her, Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and we will give thee every one of us eleven hundred pieces of silver.

6 And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee.
7 And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.
8 Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green withs which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.
9 Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known.
10 And Delilah said unto Samson, Behold, thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: now tell me, I pray thee, wherewith thou mightest be bound.

11 And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.
12 Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And there were liers in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like a thread.
13 And Delilah said unto Samson, Hitherto thou hast mocked me, and told me lies: tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound. And he said unto her, If thou weavest the seven locks of my head with the web.
14 And she fastened it with the pin, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awaked out of his sleep, and went away with the pin of the beam, and with the web.
15 And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth.

    16 And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;
17 That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.
18 And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up unto her, and brought money in their hand.
19 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.
20 And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.

21 But the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he did grind in the prison house.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 9 AUGUST 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Over the past few days, I have been discussing being filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit.

If a person can be filled, it then means there is a possibility of being empty. Talking about the possibility of emptiness brings me to the possibility of leakages. There are various ways to empty a container; one is to pour all its content out at once, and another could be to puncture the container so that the content begins to leak until it is totally drained.

Most times, when satan wants to attack a believer who is full of the Holy Spirit, he doesn’t launch an all-out attack. The devil is wary of the impact of the anointing; therefore, when he wants to attack such believers, he looks for subtle ways to empty them of the anointing. He looks for little cracks in their lives that he can exploit to cause them to lose the anointing gradually until they become empty – then, he strikes.

Believers who toy with sin will first experience a leakage of the anointing, and if they do not repent, it will ultimately lead to death (Romans 6:23). A believer might still be functioning in the gifts of the Spirit, but if he or she is involved in secret sins, the anointing will begin to leak.

The problem with leakage from a container is that the time it is discovered is usually when the remaining content has become too little to be useful or when the container is totally empty; by then, it is already late. When Samson said, “I will arise and go out as before” (Judges 16:20), he didn’t know that the anointing had departed from him. The discovery that the anointing is gone often happens when the devil has achieved his goal, and it can only take the special grace of God for the believer to be restored.

…it is high time to awake out of sleep… let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Romans 13:77-12

Beloved, if you have been toying with sin, this is the time to wake up. Those toying with sin are courting destruction. Nobody may know what you are doing in secret, but God knows, and you can be sure that the devil knows too.

Solomon spoke about little foxes that spoil vines in today’s memory verse. If you have been committing secret sins, please deal with them now before they destroy you.

OPEN HEAVEN 9 AUGUST KEY POINT

Secret sins will cause a leakage of the anointing and eventually destroy a believer.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

HYMN 34: YIELD NOT TO TEMPTATION

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 9 AUGUST 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Song of Solomon 2:15

“Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.”
This verse warns against seemingly small compromises—the “little foxes” of sin that quietly destroy spiritual fruitfulness and drain the anointing.

    BIBLE READING: Judges 16:1-21

Samson’s tragedy reveals three stages of anointing leakage:

    1. v.1-3Presumption (playing with temptation)
    2. v.4-17Deception (underestimating Delilah’s persistence)
    3. v.18-21Empty Power (“He did not know the LORD had departed”)

    The Danger of Anointing Leakage

Daddy Adeboye’s message exposes how the enemy drains spiritual power:

    1. Satan’s Strategy Against the Anointed

    • Not Direct Attacks: The devil uses gradual erosion (like termites).
    • Target Areas:
      • Secret Sins (Psalm 90:8)
      • Unforgiveness (Mark 11:25-26)
      • Pride (James 4:6)

    2. The Samson Syndrome (Judges 16:20)

    StageSamson’s ErrorModern Equivalent
LeakageToying with DelilahFlirting with sin (e.g., porn, gossip)
    WarningBroken cords (v.9,12)Diminished spiritual sensitivity
Empty“I will go out as before”Performing ministry without power

    3. The Fox Factor (Song of Solomon 2:15)

    • Little Foxes = “Harmless” habits that:
      • Steal prayer time
      • Justify “white lies”
      • Breed complacency

    How to Seal Every Leak

    1. Daily Integrity Checks (Lamentations 3:40)

    • Ask:
      • “Is there any hidden compromise?”
      • “Does my private life match my public ministry?”

    2. Zero Tolerance for “Little” Sins

    • Respond Like JosephFlee at the first hint of temptation (Genesis 39:12)
    • Pray David’s Prayer“Cleanse me from secret faults” (Psalm 19:12)

    3. Guard Your Anointing Like Elisha

    • Stayed with Elijah to the end (2 Kings 2:2-6)
    • Rejected distractions (2 Kings 2:16-18)

    Prayer for Restoration

“Father, expose every hidden crack draining Your power from me! Deliver me from Samson’s blindness to my own leaks. Restore the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12) and seal me with fresh fire, in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps

    1. Fast 1 Day Weekly: To detox from spiritual leaks (Isaiah 58:6)
    2. Accountability Partner: Confess one struggle to a trusted believer (James 5:16)
    3. Anointing Audit: List areas where your spiritual power feels diminished—repent & rededicate

    Conclusion: Stay Full, Stay Dangerous

Daddy Adeboye’s warning is clear: The enemy fears anointed believers—so he works to empty them quietly.

“Don’t let ‘little’ sins turn you into a walking empty tank. The same Delilahs you play with today will shave your strength tomorrow.”

TOPIC: OVERFLOW WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT II

    MEMORISE

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
    John 7:38

    READ: John 7:37-39

37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 8 AUGUST 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
    Psalm 23:5

David was talking about the overflow of the Holy Spirit in the Scripture above. Overflowing with the Holy Spirit and the anointing is God’s desire for all His children. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus Christ said that those who are thirsty can come to Him and drink. He said that out of their bellies will flow rivers of living water – not one river but rivers – that is a tremendous overflow of the Holy Spirit. Peter overflowed with the Holy Spirit because even his shadow healed the sick (Acts 5:14-16).

Elisha also overflowed with the anointing so much that the flow continued after his death, and his bones raised the dead (2 Kings 13:20-21). There is no limit to how much of the Holy Spirit you can carry because God wants you to be filled to overflowing.

In 2011, a woman shared a testimony in Dublin. She said she had heard that when the barren sit on chairs that l have sat on, they would become pregnant. So, she attended one of our programmes but could not get to sit on the chair I sat on because it had been taken away before she got to it.

She was sad, but suddenly, she had an idea. “He was standing at the pulpit preaching; there must be part of the anointing on the pulpit too.” So, she went to the pulpit and began to rub her stomach against it. She became pregnant that month, and when she delivered, she gave birth to triplets. The Holy Spirit had overflowed through me so much that there was enough power on the pulpit to make the barren fruitful.

Beloved, the Holy Spirit can overflow through you too. You can be so filled with the Holy Spirit that whatever you touch will carry the anointing. However, for that to happen, you must be drunk with His infilling. No matter how filled you are with the Holy Spirit, you must continually long for more. You must make it a habit to spend quality time in His presence to the point where you will stop being conscious of time. I pray that as you spend quality time in God’s presence, He will fill you to overflowing with the Holy Spirit and power.

OPEN HEAVEN 8 AUGUST PRAYER POINT

Father, please fill me until I overflow with Your Spirit. Let rivers of living water flow out of my belly, in Jesus’ name.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Jeremiah 15-17

HYMN 26: THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 8 AUGUST 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: John 7:38

“He that believeth on Me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”
This verse reveals God’s standard for every believer—not just a trickle of the Spirit, but rivers of divine power that impact everything around you.

    BIBLE READING: John 7:37-39

Jesus’ words unveil three keys to overflow:

    1. v.37: The invitation (“If anyone thirsts…”)
    2. v.38: The promise (“rivers of living water”)
    3. v.39: The source (the Holy Spirit, given after Jesus’ glorification)

    The Reality of Spiritual Overflow

Daddy Adeboye’s teaching highlights four manifestations of Holy Spirit overflow:

    1. David’s Cup (Psalm 23:5)

    • “My cup runs over”: Not just full—excess oil for:
      • Enemies’ defeat (the prepared table)
      • Continuous anointing (fresh oil daily)

    2. Peter’s Shadow (Acts 5:15)

    • Ordinary objects became conduits:
      • Handkerchiefs (Acts 19:12)
      • Chairs (Dublin testimony)
      • Even a pulpit transferred fertility anointing

    3. Elisha’s Bones (2 Kings 13:21)

    • Death couldn’t stop the flow:
      • His anointing outlived him
      • Proves overflow is transferable to generations

    4. The Dublin Triplets

    • Divine Contagion: The pulpit absorbed residual anointing
    • Key Lesson: Overflow leaves imprintable grace on places/objects

How to Walk in Continuous Overflow

    1. Cultivate Spiritual Thirst (John 7:37)

    • Holy Spirit drunkards:
      • Crave more than food (Job 23:12)
      • Pursue God’s presence like oxygen

    2. Eliminate All Leaks

    • Sin (Isaiah 59:2)
    • Unforgiveness (Mark 11:25)
    • Distractions (Luke 10:40-42)

    3. Create “Anointing Stations”

    • Your prayer closet: Let it become soaked with worship
    • Your workplace: Pray over your desk/equipment (like the pulpit)

    Prayer for Overflow

“Father, make me a spiritual Niagara Falls! Let Your power gush through me so violently that the barren conceive, the sick heal, and the dead rise at my shadow. Baptize me in fresh fire daily until I become a dangerous carrier of Your glory, in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps

    1. Anoint Your Space: Use oil to dedicate your home/workplace as overflow zones (Exodus 30:26-29)
    2. Practice “Soaking”: Spend 30 minutes daily in wordless worship (Romans 8:26)
    3. Testify Boldly: Share one miracle testimony weekly to activate more (Revelation 12:11)

    Conclusion: Become a Spiritual Riverbed

Daddy Adeboye’s life proves: Overflow isn’t for superstars—it’s for thirsty believers. When you:

    • Stay drunk on the Spirit
    • Stay hungry for more
    • Stay reckless in obedience

    …you’ll rewrite destinies through:

    • Your shadow
    • Your touch
    • Even your leftovers

“Don’t just seek the river—BECOME the river!”

TOPIC: OVERFLOW WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT I

    MEMORISE:

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
    Acts 2:4

    READ: Acts 2:1-18

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

    16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

When people are filled with alcohol, they become drunk. God, however, does not want this for His children; rather, He wants them to be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).

On the day of Pentecost, the disciples were so full of the Holy Spirit that those who saw them thought they were drunk. In truth, they were overflowing with heavenly wine called the Holy Spirit.

Drunk people don’t see things the way others do. A drunk can look at a refuse heap and see a majestic bed. Likewise, when someone is filled with the Holy Spirit, he or she can look at a crippled man and see him running about.

When I moved to the campground that has now become Redemption City, my colleagues at the university thought I had gone crazy.

They saw a jungle, but I was seeing a city. Now, everyone can see the city that I saw some decades ago.

Drunk people are not in control of their actions; they do whatever the alcohol influences them to do. If it influences them to sleep on a highway, they will gladly do so without thinking of the dangers involved.

Likewise, when you’re drunk with the Holy Spirit, you’re no longer in control of your life.

You will go wherever He asks you to go and do whatever He asks you to do. You won’t argue with Him when He tells you to do something. I believe you haven’t been taken over by the wine of the Holy Spirit if you still struggle with obeying God’s instructions. Before Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit, he could do whatever he wanted; at one time, he even denied Jesus.

However, when the Holy Spirit came upon him on the day of Pentecost, he started preaching the gospel and never stopped until God called him home. One time, when some people threatened him not to speak about Jesus, he boldly responded, “We cannot but speak of the things we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20).

Despite the persecutions he faced, he refused to stop speaking about Jesus.

Drunkards are never satisfied with a previous day’s drunkenness, so they return to the bottle daily. When you are filled until you overflow with the Holy Spirit, you will keep returning for more. The more He fills you, the more you will want Him, and the more of Him you have, the more your life will overflow with His miraculous power. Beloved, ask God to fill you with His Spirit every day.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Jeremiah 12-14

HYMN 8: I Need Thee Every Hour

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 7 AUGUST 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Acts 2:4

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
This verse marks the birth of Spirit-filled Christianity—where ordinary believers became supernatural vessels through the Holy Spirit’s infilling.

    BIBLE READING: Acts 2:1-18

This passage reveals three dimensions of Holy Spirit overflow:

    1. v.2-4: The soundfire, and tongues—supernatural manifestations
    2. v.6-12: The immediate impact—multilingual evangelism
    3. v.17-18: The prophetic promise—Spirit outpouring for all believers

Holy Spirit Intoxication vs. Worldly Drunkenness

Daddy Adeboye draws a powerful contrast between two types of “drunkenness”:

    1. Different Sources, Different Results

    Alcohol DrunkHoly Spirit Drunk
Sees trash heaps as beds (delusion)Sees cripples as healed (faith)
    Loses self-control (danger)Surrenders to God’s control (power)
Wakes up ashamed (hangover)Wakes up anointed (overflow)

    2. Peter’s Transformation

    • Before Pentecost:
      • Fearful (denied Christ 3x)
      • Self-directed (returned to fishing)
    • After Pentecost:
      • Fearless (preached to mockers)
      • Spirit-led (“we cannot but speak!”)

    3. Vision Beyond Sight

    • Redemption City Example:
      • Natural eyes saw: A jungle
      • Spirit-filled eyes saw: A global headquarters
      • Result: What seemed foolish became glorious (1 Corinthians 1:27)

How to Live in Holy Spirit Overflow

    1. Desire Daily Infilling

    • Don’t rely on yesterday’s anointing (like manna—Exodus 16:19-20)
    • Do pray daily: “Fill me afresh!” (Psalm 81:10)

    2. Cultivate Spiritual Sensitivity

    • Test 1: Do you instantly obey God’s nudges? (Acts 8:29)
    • Test 2: Do you see potential in hopeless cases? (Ezekiel 37:3)

    3. Embrace “Foolish” Assignments

    • Holy Spirit drunkards:
      • Build cities in jungles (like Daddy Adeboye)
      • Preach to mockers (like Peter)
      • Lay hands on the sick (Mark 16:18)

    Prayer for Pentecostal Power

“Father, intoxicate me with Your Spirit! Break my addiction to human logic. Give me Peter’s boldnessPaul’s passion, and Jesus’ vision. Let my life overflow with tongues, miracles, and unstoppable faith, in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps

    1. Tarry Daily: Spend 15 minutes praying in tongues (Jude 1:20)
    2. Obey Immediately: Next time God prompts you (e.g., call someone, give money), act within 5 minutes
    3. Journal Visions: Write down what the Spirit shows you (Habakkuk 2:2)

    Conclusion: The Drunkard’s Legacy

Daddy Adeboye’s life proves: Holy Spirit intoxication is the believer’s birthright. While worldly drunkenness destroys, Spirit-filled “drunkenness”:

    • Transforms deserts into cities
    • Turns cowards into apostles
    • Makes the impossible inevitable

“Stay drunk on the Spirit until your ‘Redemption City’ becomes visible to the doubters!”

    TOPIC: OVERFLOWING MERCY

    MEMORISE

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)
    Ephesians 2:4-5

    READ: Mark 1:40-45

40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
    43 And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away;
44 And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.
45 But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 6 AUGUST 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Many of God’s attributes can be seen in the Bible and one of them is that He is merciful.

Today’s memory verse says that He is rich in mercy, and this means that He has more than enough for everyone; hence, He can never run out of it.

The Bible also says in Psalm 62:12:
Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy…

The Scripture above tells us that mercy belongs to God. When something belongs to someone who loves you, you can rest assured that he or she will give you that thing anytime you need it. This means that as long as you belong to God, you will always enjoy His mercy.

Today’s Bible reading tells the story of a leper who came to Jesus and said, “If you will, you can make me clean.” In other words, he was saying, “I know you are merciful, but I don’t know if that mercy extends to me. If you will have mercy on me, then I know I will become clean.” Jesus didn’t get angry at him; He reached out to him and touched him.

In those days, it was forbidden to touch a leper, but when mercy shows up for a man, it breaks human protocols. Jesus also corrected the leper’s wrong mindset. He told him, “I will; be clean.” Jesus showed him that mercy is always available to those who come to Him. God never withholds His mercy from those who cry out to Him for it. When Blind Bartimaeus cried for mercy in Mark 10:46-52, Jesus heard his cry and responded. When a father cried for mercy concerning his son who was tormented by a devil, Jesus responded and delivered the child (Matthew 17:14-18).

When the Canaanite woman cried for mercy concerning her daughter, even though it wasn’t yet time for the Gentiles to experience God’s merciful gift of salvation, Jesus responded, and the girl was made whole (Matthew 15:22-28). In the name above every other name, I pray that God’s mercy will locate you and make you whole in all areas of life.

God’s mercy is great. Psalm 57:10 tells us that His mercy is great unto the heavens. However, as great as God’s mercy is, it is only available to those who genuinely repent of their sins, surrender their lives to Jesus, and make a commitment to living a holy life. Only those who fear God will partake of His overflowing mercy (Psalm 103:11).

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Jeremiah 9-11

HYMN 15: Pass Me Not O Gentle Saviour

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 6 AUGUST 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Ephesians 2:4-5

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).”
This passage reveals mercy as God’s nature—not just an act, but His very identity. His mercy is:

    1. Rich (abundant beyond measure)
    2. Proactive (He reaches out even when we don’t deserve it)
    3. Life-giving (transforms spiritual death into divine life)

    BIBLE READING: Mark 1:40-45

This passage demonstrates mercy in action:

    • v.40: The leper’s desperate cry—”If You will…”
    • v.41: Jesus’ radical response—compassionate touch that broke religious taboos
    • v.42: Immediate transformation—mercy doesn’t delay

    The Depths of Divine Mercy

Daddy Adeboye’s teaching reveals four profound truths about God’s mercy:

    1. Mercy Belongs to God (Psalm 62:12)

    • Divine Ownership: Mercy isn’t a human virtue—it’s God’s exclusive property
    • Implication: When you’re connected to God, you’re connected to an endless supply (Lamentations 3:22-23)

    2. Mercy Breaks Protocols (Mark 1:41)

    • The Leper’s Miracle: Jesus touched what society rejected
    • Modern Application: God’s mercy will:
      • Restore forbidden relationships
      • Heal incurable diseases
      • Open governmentally closed doors

    3. Mercy Corrects Wrong Mindsets (Mark 1:41)

    • The Leper’s Doubt: “If You will…”
    • Jesus’ Response: “I will!”
    • Key Lesson: God always wills to show mercy—the question is our asking (Matthew 7:7)

    4. Mercy Responds to Desperate Cries

    • Biblical Cases:
      • Blind Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46-52)
      • Tormented boy (Matthew 17:14-18)
      • Canaanite woman (Matthew 15:22-28)
    • Common ThreadAudacious faith that wouldn’t stop crying out

    How to Access Overflowing Mercy

    1. Come with Bold Honesty (Hebrews 4:16)

    • Approach God’s throne not with:
      • Religious pretense
      • Self-justification
    • But with:
      • Raw confession (“I’m a leper!”)
      • Childlike dependence (“If You will…”)

    2. Embrace Repentance (Psalm 103:11)

    • Mercy flows where fear of the Lord exists
    • Practical Repentance:
      • Daily heart checks (Psalm 139:23-24)
      • Immediate confession (1 John 1:9)

    3. Develop a Mercy Consciousness

    • Remember:
      • Your past breakthroughs (Lamentations 3:21)
      • Others’ testimonies (Revelation 12:11)
      • God’s track record (Psalm 136)

    Prayer for Mercy Overflow

“Father of mercies, locate me today! Break every human protocol limiting my breakthrough. Where I’ve said ‘If You will…’, declare ‘I WILL!’ over my life. Let Your mercy speak for me in every impossible situation, in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps

    1. Create a Mercy Journal: Record every mercy testimony (personal/biblical)
    2. Practice Daily Repentance: Spend 5 minutes each morning in Psalm 51
    3. Be a Mercy Channel: Forgive someone who doesn’t deserve it (Matthew 5:7)

    Conclusion: The Mercy Revolution

Daddy Adeboye’s message reveals: Mercy isn’t just getting what you don’t deserve—it’s God rewriting your story. When mercy speaks:

    • Lepers become clean
    • Blind eyes open
    • Hopeless cases become testimonies

“The same mercy that reached a leper 2,000 years ago is still searching for ‘hopeless cases’ today—will you be His next exhibit?”

    TOPIC: OVERFLOWING PRAISE

    MEMORISE

Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
    Psalms 147:1

    READ: 2 Samuel 6:14-16

14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.
15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.
16 And as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 5 AUGUST 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In today’s Bible reading, David praised God with all his might and danced with total abandon. This is a classic example of overflowing praise; no wonder God blessed Him beyond measure. When we overflow with praise towards God, He gives us blessings that are beyond measure. When you praise God, you please Him, and when you please Him, He makes even your enemies to be at peace with you (Proverbs 16:7). No wonder David never lost a battle; his overflowing praise always made God silence all his enemies before him.

When you go out of your way to praise God, He goes out of His way to shower you with abundant blessings.

To really give overflowing praise to God, you cannot set limits to your praise; you have to praise Him without ceasing. This means that you keep praising Him everywhere you go and while going about your daily activities. This also means that your major preoccupation throughout all your days should be to give Him praise continually. This is why every time people see me, they notice that my mouth is always moving – I am always singing choruses to praise my God. I remember one time l travelled outside Nigeria; I went to a bookstore to buy some books. While picking the books, I was singing praises to God. A white man came into the bookstore, saw me, and made a joke about my singing. We laughed, shook hands, and as he was about to leave, he said, “Wait a minute, it is gone!” Apparently, he had been suffering from a backache for years. The moment I shook his hands in that mood of worship, the backache disappeared. If you want to experience constant miracles everywhere you go, even when you are not expecting it, then you should be giving God overflowing praise.

Those who give God overflowing praise do not wait for Him to do anything for them before they praise Him. They praise Him in season and out of season. Just the fact that they get up from their beds in the morning is enough reason to give Him praise. In return, God ensures that He meets their needs even before they ask so that they can put more time and focus into praising Him. Before any trouble comes, He settles it so that the flow of praise does not stop. Beloved, make it a habit to praise God everywhere you go, and He will beautify your life with His abundant blessings.

    Jeremiah 6-8

HYMN 18: PRAISE TO THE LORD THE ALMIGHTY

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 5 AUGUST 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Psalms 147:1

“Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.”
This verse reveals praise as a divine delight—both pleasing to God and beneficial to us. It’s not just an act of worship but a spiritual weapon that attracts God’s intervention.

    BIBLE READING: 2 Samuel 6:14-16

    David’s unrestrained worship teaches us:

    • v.14: He danced with all his might—no holding back.
    • v.15: His praise brought God’s presence (the Ark’s return).
    • v.16Human criticism (Michal’s disdain) couldn’t stop his overflow.

    The Power of Overflowing Praise

Daddy Adeboye’s message unveils three transformative effects of unceasing praise:

    1. Praise Silences Enemies (Proverbs 16:7)

    • David’s Testimony: His lifestyle of praise made God fight his battles (2 Samuel 5:20).
    • Key Principle: When you magnify God, He minimizes your struggles.

    2. Praise Triggers Miracles (Acts 16:25-26)

    • The Bookstore Encounter: Daddy Adeboye’s habitual singing released healing to the white man.
    • Divine Physics: Praise disrupts darkness and activates miracles (Psalm 22:3).

    3. Praise Invites Divine Priority

    • For Overflowing Praisers:
      • Needs are met before asking (Matthew 6:8).
      • Battles are won before fighting (2 Chronicles 20:22).

    How to Cultivate Overflowing Praise

    1. Praise Without Ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

    • Daily Habit: Like Daddy Adeboye, fill idle moments with worship (e.g., commutes, chores).
    • Practical Tip: Download worship playlists to keep your spirit engaged.

    2. Praise Without Limits (2 Samuel 6:22)

    • David’s Mindset“I will become even more undignified than this!”
    • Action: Dance, shout, kneel—express praise physically (Psalm 150:4-6).

    3. Praise Before the Breakthrough (Habakkuk 3:17-18)

    • Sacrifice of Praise: Thank God in advance for victories unseen (Hebrews 13:15).

Prayer for a Life of Praise

“Father, make me a perpetual praise carrier! Break every spirit of self-consciousness or apathy in my worship. Let my praise silence enemiesunlock miracles, and keep me in Your presence, in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps

    1. Start a Praise Journal: Record daily reasons to thank God (even small blessings).
    2. Praise Walk: Spend 10 minutes daily walking outdoors, worshipping aloud.
    3. Silence Critics: Next time someone mocks your zeal, respond like David: “I’ll praise Him more!”

Conclusion: Praise as a Lifestyle (Psalm 34:1)

Daddy Adeboye’s life proves: Overflowing praise isn’t occasional—it’s oxygen. When praise becomes your default setting, miracles become your daily reality.

“Don’t wait for a victory to praise—praise your way into victory. The louder you worship, the quieter your enemies become.”
