    TOPIC: ATTAINING GOOD SUCCESS I

    MEMORISE:
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
    John 14:23

    READ: Romans 8:31-39
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

RCCG OPEN HEAVENS 10 MARCH 2026 MESSAGE TODAY

When God’s children have to fight through obstacles and challenges, they often have scars from the battles before they finally receive their trophies.

There is, however, a better way for children of God to succeed, and this is winning without a fight, as we see in Romans 8:37, which says that we are more than conquerors simply because God loves us. I will discuss this today in continuation of the series I started two days ago.

When God loves a person specially, He makes them more than conquerors, meaning that they enjoy victories without fighting. Imagine a scenario where a boxer fights hard to win a championship belt, then hands it over to his wife along with all the proceeds from the boxing match. In such an instance, the wife won the boxing championship without even fighting.

I pray that the Almighty God will give you victories without fights, in Jesus’ name.

Some people say that God loves everyone equally, but this is not really true. Jesus had twelve disciples, but some were closer to Him than others. You will recall how Jesus took only Peter, James, and John with Him to the Mount of Transfiguration (Matthew 17:1-3). Those three disciples were clearly closer to Jesus than the others. However, one of them, John, was even much closer to Him. For example, when Jesus was asked to reveal the identity of the person who would betray Him, He didn’t give a direct answer until John asked Him (John 13:21-26).

Beloved, there’s a secret I want to share with you on how to make God love you specially. Jesus said, in John 14:23, that if you love Him, you will keep His word, and His Father will love you so much that He will make His abode in you. This is a special kind of love that He has reserved only for those who obey all His commands.

When you live your life according to His will, God will fight your battles for you, and no one can be against you (Romans 8:31). Your life will be filled with experiences that demonstrate God’s special love for you. Even when it seems as if destruction is looming, one way or the other, God will manoeuvre things to your favour and even promote you (Daniel 3:8-30).

Beloved, loving God by keeping His word is your guarantee to attaining good success and experiencing victory without a fight.

    REFLECTION

Do you keep all God’s commands?

Open Heavens HYMN 50: CONQUERORS AND OVERCOMERS NOW ARE WE

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL 10 MARCH 2026 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: John 14:23
“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”
This verse reveals the dynamic cycle of intimate covenant: Our love for Christ is demonstrated by obedience (“keep my words”), which triggers a special response from the Father—not just general benevolence, but a profound, indwelling love that results in the fullness of the Godhead taking up residence within the believer. This indwelling is the source of “more than conqueror” status.

    BIBLE READING: Romans 8:31-39
This passage is the triumphant declaration of the believer’s secure position in God’s special love:
    v. 31: The foundational question: “If God be for us, who can be against us?” This assumes the condition of God being for us in a special, active sense.
    v. 35-37: A catalogue of extreme adversities that cannot “separate us from the love of Christ.” This love is not a feeling, but a conquering force.
    v. 37: The pinnacle: “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” “More than conquerors” (hupernikomen) means to overwhelmingly conquer, to conquer with surpassing victory. It implies a victory so complete it transcends the very concept of battle.

The Position of “More Than Conquering”

Concluding his series on life’s battles, Pastor E.A. Adeboye reveals the highest level of victory available to the believer: not failure, not struggling victory, but victory without a fight. This is not the absence of enemies or challenges, but a divine positioning where God Himself assumes full responsibility for our battles, granting us the trophy before the conflict.

    1. Understanding “More Than Conquerors”

    Beyond Battlefield Victory:

    • A conqueror fights and wins. A “more than conqueror” receives the victory as an inheritance, like the boxer’s wife in the illustration. The fight was won by another on their behalf, and they enjoy the full reward without enduring the blows.
    • The Source: This position is not earned by our prowess but accessed “through him that loved us.” It is a benefit of God’s special love.

    2. The Reality of God’s Special Love

The Biblical Truth of Preferential Intimacy:

    • While God’s general love extends to all (John 3:16), His manifested, indwelling, and fiercely protective love is conditioned upon loving obedience. Pastor Adeboye corrects a common misconception using the clear example of Jesus’ inner circle (Peter, James, John) and, supremely, the “disciple whom Jesus loved.”

The Mechanism of Access: Love Expressed as Obedience:

    • John 14:23 is the “secret.” It outlines a covenant chain:
      1. Our Love for Jesus → expressed in keeping His words.
      2. The Father’s Response → special love (agapēsei).
      3. The Divine Result → God makes His abode in the believer.
    • This indwelling is what makes one “more than a conqueror.” The Commander of the universe resides within, therefore the battles around you are beneath His dignity for you to fight alone.

    3. Biblical Portraits of Victory Without a Fight

    Daniel’s Friends (Daniel 3:24-27):

    • They did not fight the fire or the king. They obeyed God’s word (refusing idolatry) and were bound and thrown in. God Himself fought the battle. They emerged without even the smell of smoke on them—the ultimate “more than conqueror” outcome.

    King Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 20:15-17, 22-24):

    • Faced with an overwhelming army, God said, “The battle is not yours, but God’s… Ye shall not need to fight in this battle.” Their role was to worship. God set ambushes and turned enemies against each other. They spent three days gathering the spoil.

The Israelites at the Red Sea (Exodus 14:13-14):

    • Moses’ command: “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD… The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”

    4. The Testimony of John (The Disciple Whom Jesus Loved)

    Intimacy Through Proximity and Obedience:

    • John’s unique title did not stem from favoritism but from a reciprocal love manifested in closeness (leaning on Jesus’ breast) and steadfast obedience (following to the cross). This intimacy granted him unique revelation and access (John 13:25, Revelation 1:1).

How to Access the “More Than Conqueror” Life

    Cultivate Obedience-Based Love:

    • Move from a love of mere affection to a love of submission. Audit your life against Christ’s clear commands. Where is there disobedience? That is the barrier to the special love that grants effortless victory.

Pray from a Position of Indwelling:

    • Stop praying for God to come and help. Start praying from the reality that He has made His abode in you. Command situations to align with the victory of the indwelling King.

Adopt a Posture of Receiving, Not Striving:

    • In the face of challenges, your first response should be worship and declaration: “Thank You, Father, that You are for me. I stand still and see Your salvation. I receive the victory You have already won.”

    Expect Divine Maneuvering:

    • Believe God for “Daniel 3” and “2 Chronicles 20” outcomes—where your obedience in the fire leads to supernatural promotion and your enemies are turned against each other without your lifting a sword.

Warning: The Deception of Presumptive Victory
    Assuming Special Love Without Obedience:

    • Claiming “more than conqueror” status while living in willful disobedience is spiritual presumption. It leads to defeat, as God is not obligated to fight for a rebel.

    Misinterpreting the Process:

    • “Victory without a fight” does not mean the absence of a trial (the furnace was hot, the army was real). It means the battle is transferred from your shoulders to God’s. Your role becomes worship and obedience, not combat.

Conclusion: Dwelling in the Love That Conquers

    Pray this:
“Lord Jesus, I desire the intimate, indwelling love of the Father that makes me more than a conqueror. I repent of any disobedience. I choose today to love You by keeping Your words. I surrender every area of my life to Your command. Father, according to Your promise, love me with that special love. Make Your abode in me. Fight my battles for me. I receive the position of ‘more than conqueror’ through Christ who loved me. I step out of the struggle and into the rest of Your overwhelming victory. From this day, I expect to see Your salvation without my striving, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. The Obedience Audit: Take time with the Holy Spirit and the Gospels (Matthew 5-7, John 14-15). Write down one clear command of Jesus you have been neglecting. Commit to obeying it immediately as your act of love.
    2. Declare Your Position: Each morning, declare Romans 8:31, 37 aloud: “God is for me. Therefore, no one can succeed against me. In all things, I am more than a conqueror through Him who loves me.”
    3. Practice Posture Prayer: In your next crisis, do not draft a battle plan. First, spend time in worship and declaring God’s victory. Ask, “Father, how would You have me receive the victory You’ve already won here?”

Remember: Your highest calling is not to be a great warrior for God, but a beloved child in whom God dwells. Let Him fight for you.
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4). The Greater One within you has already secured the victory.

    TOPIC: ASK FOR HIS HELP

    MEMORISE:
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
    Proverbs 3:5-6

    READ: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
9 And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

RCCG OPEN HEAVENS 9 MARCH 2026 MESSAGE TODAY

Yesterday, I discussed failure as the first possible outcome in the battle of life. I also noted that this possibility becomes an assurance when God is fighting against a fellow. The second possible outcome in the battle of life is that it is possible to win, but with numerous struggles.

When God promises to go with you in your endeavours, success is assured, but you may need to fight. For example, in Exodus 3:10-12, God told Moses to go to Egypt and set the children of Israel free from bondage. This assignment scared Moses, but God promised to be with him. Moses obeyed God and appeared before Pharaoh, demanding the freedom of the Israelites, but the latter refused to let them go. Moses persisted in his demand, and Pharaoh continued to resist until he eventually submitted to the mighty power of the Almighty God.

When the Lord is with you, no matter what the enemy says or does, you will win.

In 1 Samuel 17:1-51, everyone in the camp of Israel was afraid of Goliath, and for forty days and nights, he terrorised the nation. When David went to the king to seek his permission to fight the giant, the king looked at him and asked in disbelief if he was really capable of doing so. David recounted the things that God had done through him, and when Saul heard them, he said, “Go, and the Lord be with you.” The Lord went with David, and he was victorious over Goliath.

Beloved, when the Lord is with you, the possibility of failing in the battle of life vanishes. Child of God, don’t consider anything in your life as an accident. Before your birth, God carefully arranged everything about your life, and when He is with you in life’s battles, you will undoubtedly win.

In today’s Bible reading, Jabez asked God to help him succeed in life. God answered him and put an end to his struggles. You don’t have to keep struggling to succeed when you can call on the Lord to give you victory.

Although Jacob had been blessed by his father, he struggled until he surrendered everything to God. Jacob held on to God until He blessed him (Genesis 32:24-32).

Beloved, stop trying to succeed by yourself; surrender your plans to God and ask Him to help you like Jabez did, and He will give you good success

    KEY POINT

Those who surrender their plans to the Lord and seek His help won’t struggle to succeed.

Open Heavens HYMN 30: WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL 9 MARCH 2026 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
This is the master key to transitioning from struggling victory to guided triumph. It commands total reliance on God’s wisdom over human insight (“lean not”) and constant recognition of His sovereignty in every detail (“acknowledge Him”). The promise is not just success, but directedsuccess—a path made straight and clear by divine navigation, reducing friction and struggle.

    BIBLE READING: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
Jabez’s prayer is the biblical model for moving from struggle to blessed victory:
    v. 9: His very name meant “pain,” marking a life begun under a cloud of struggle.
    v. 10: His fourfold prayer:

    1. “Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed” – A plea for the authentic, tangible blessing of God.
    2. “Enlarge my coast” – A request for increased influence and territory.
    3. “That thine hand might be with me” – The core request for God’s presence and partnership.
    4. “That thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me!” – A plea for protection from the struggles that cause pain.
Result: “And God granted him that which he requested.” The struggle was supernaterally ended by a direct divine response.

From Struggling Victory to Blessed Victory

Building on yesterday’s message about the assurance of failure when God resists, Pastor E.A. Adeboye now explores the second possible outcome: winning, but with exhausting struggle. He reveals that God’s presence guarantees victory, but a life of perpetual struggle is not His highest will. We are called to move from laboring victory to the blessed victory of Jabez.

    1. The Reality of “Struggling Victory”

Victory with God’s Presence, But Without Full Surrender:

    • This is winning battles through persistent human effort supplemented by God’s help, rather than winning through divine strategy led by God’s command. It is like Moses arguing with Pharaoh through ten plagues—victorious, but grueling.
    • Characteristics: Exhaustion, anxiety, constant opposition, and a sense that every gain is hard-fought.

The Root Cause: Leaning on Our Own Understanding:

    • Struggling victory often occurs when we acknowledge God in our plans (“God, bless my idea”) rather than acknowledging Him for our plans (“God, what is Your idea?”). We are fighting for God instead of letting God fight through us.

    2. The Biblical Blueprint for Blessed Victory

    The Jabez Model: Prayerful Surrender:

    • Jabez didn’t just work harder; he prayed a strategic prayer that invited God’s hand into his situation. He moved from being defined by struggle (“Pain”) to being defined by answered prayer.

The Davidic Principle: Past Testimony Fuels Present Faith:

    • When facing Goliath, David didn’t say “I can do it.” He recounted God’s past victories through him (1 Samuel 17:34-37). His trust was in the unchanging character of God, not his own skill. Saul’s blessing, “Go, and the LORD be with you,” was the key. The battle was won the moment David stepped out in covenant partnership with God.

The Jacob Turning Point: Relentless Dependence:

    • Jacob, the struggler from birth, only received his transformational blessing (Israel) when he stopped scheming and clung to God in desperate dependence (Genesis 32:26). Blessed victory came when his own strength failed.

    3. The Contrast: Moses vs. Jabez

    Moses (The Struggling Victory):

    • Assignment: Clear (Exodus 3:10).
    • Promise: Clear (“I will be with you” Exodus 3:12).
    • Process: Protracted struggle with Pharaoh, repeated setbacks, and public confrontations. The victory was glorious but extracted a heavy toll of conflict.

    Jabez (The Blessed Victory):

    • Assignment: Not stated—likely a life of ordinary struggle.
    • Prayer: A cry for God’s hand to change his narrative.
    • Process: A direct, recorded answer from God. The struggle ended through a prayer of surrender.

The Common Thread: The active presence of God. The difference is in the quality of the journey and the level of human striving.

    4. David’s Testimony (1 Samuel 17:45-47)

    Victory Through Acknowledgment:

    • David declared to Goliath: “I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts… that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel… for the battle is the LORD’s.” He fully acknowledged God, leaning zero on his own understanding. The victory was swift, total, and undeniable.

How to Move from Struggle to Blessed Victory

    1. Pray the Jabez Prayer Daily:

    • Make 1 Chronicles 4:10 your own. Specifically ask for God’s hand—His active power and guidance—to be upon your work, family, and endeavors.

    2. Exchange Your Plan for His Direction:

    • For your key decisions, stop saying, “God, bless what I’m doing.” Start asking, “God, what are You doing? Direct my path into it.” (Proverbs 3:6). Wait for His guidance before charging ahead.

    3. Lead with Testimony, Not Anxiety:

    • Like David, face new giants by rehearsing God’s past faithfulness. This builds faith that reduces struggle. Keep a journal of victories.

    4. Cling, Don’t Strive:

    • In persistent challenges, emulate Jacob. Move from “I will fix this” to “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” Transfer the weight of the struggle to God in persistent prayer.

    Warning: Mistaking Struggle for Faithfulness
“Suffering for Jesus” vs. “Struggling from Disobedience”:

    • Not all struggle is godly persecution. Much is the friction of living outside God’s directed path. Examine if your struggle stems from a refusal to fully surrender an area to Him.

The Pride of the “Self-Made” Victory:

    • Winning by sheer grit without acknowledging God’s role sets you up for a fall (pride) and robs God of glory. It also ensures the next battle will be just as hard.

    Conclusion: The Rest of Victory

    Pray this:
“Lord God of Jabez, I am tired of struggling victories. Today, I choose to trust in You with all my heart. I cease leaning on my own understanding. I acknowledge You in every area of my life. Direct my paths. Oh, that You would bless me indeed! Enlarge my territory for Your glory. Let Your hand be with me in all I do. Keep me from evil and unnecessary grief. I surrender my plans, my battles, and my labors to You. Fight for me as You fought for David. Grant my request as You granted Jabez’s, and lead me into the blessed victory that comes from Your sovereign hand alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. The Path Audit: Write down the areas where you feel you are constantly struggling. Beside each, write the answer to: “Have I fully acknowledged God here and sought His path, or am I asking Him to bless my path?”
    2. Daily Direction: Each morning this week, before making any plans, pray Proverbs 3:5-6 aloud. Then, wait in silence for 5 minutes, listening for God’s direction for your day.
    3. Memorialize Victory: Start a “Blessed Victory” journal. Record not just prayers, but specifically where you saw God direct your path, ending a struggle. Review it weekly to build your faith in His guidance.

Remember: God’s will is not for you to barely win, exhausted. His will is to direct your paths so that your victory brings you rest and Him maximum glory.
“And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.” (Genesis 32:28). Prevail through dependence, not defiance.

    MEMORISE
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
    Psalm 37:5

    READ: Exodus 14:21-28
21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
23 And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the Lord looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,

25 And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the Lord fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
26 And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.
27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

RCCG OPEN HEAVENS 8 MARCH 2026 MESSAGE TODAY

Ephesians 6:12 tells us that we wrestle against principalities and powers; however, many people don’t realise this early in life, so they fight endless battles without knowing how to emerge victorious.

Many make lofty plans but never succeed in executing them. However, as we see in today’s memory verse, the secret to ensuring that your plans succeed is to commit them into God’s hands and put all your trust in Him. If you allow God to be in charge, you will surely succeed.

There are certain possibilities when a fellow is fighting the battles of life. The first possibility is that of failure. The possibility of failure, however, turns into an assurance of failure if God is fighting against the fellow.

James 4:6 tells us that God resists the proud, meaning that He fights against those who think that they can achieve things without Him. Therefore, when the enemy tempts you to do things your own way, look for wrong shortcuts, cheat, defraud, lie, or use ungodly means to get ahead, resist him because you will only be setting yourself against God if you fall for his temptations.

In the days ahead, I will discuss the other possible outcomes that a fellow can experience while fighting the battles of life.

In today’s Bible reading, God parted the Red Sea and made a way for the Israelites where there was none previously. While they were passing through dry land in the midst of the sea, their enemies followed them into the midst of the sea, hoping to bring them back into bondage. However, God helped His people and fought against their enemies.

When the enemies realised that God was against them, they cried out, “Let us run away from these Israelites because it is clear that God is fighting for them” (Exodus 14:25).

When God is fighting against someone, that fellow is bound to fail. This is why, wherever you are and whatever you plan to do, you must first ensure that God is not fighting against you. One way to ensure that God is not fighting against you is to be holy.

Holiness is the master key to success, but sin will make God your enemy. If you decide to use crooked means to succeed, even if you appear to actually be succeeding, the success won’t last.

Beloved, you cannot afford for God to be against you. If you want your plans to prosper, live a holy life and run away from anything that will make God turn against you.

    ACTION POINT

When God is fighting against a fellow, whatever that fellow does will not prosper.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Joshua 11-13

HYMN 15: Pass Me Not O Gentle Saviour

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL 8 MARCH 2026 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Psalm 37:5
“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
This verse presents the divine exchange for success. It moves us from the exhausting posture of self-managed struggle (“thy way”) into the restful assurance of God-managed outcomes (“he shall bring it to pass”). The active verbs—”commit” (to roll onto) and “trust” (to be confident, to be careless)—instruct us to transfer the full weight of our plans and battles onto God, and then to rest in His faithful execution.

    BIBLE READING: Exodus 14:21-28
This passage is the ultimate demonstration of God fighting for His people and against their enemies:
    v. 21-22: God creates an impossible way of escape, showing that when He is for you, barriers become pathways.
    v. 23-25: The enemy, in pride and pursuit, enters God’s arena. The Lord “fights for them againstthe Egyptians.” The realization of divine opposition causes panic: “Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the LORD fighteth for them.”
    v. 26-28: God executes total judgment. The same sea that was a wall of protection for Israel becomes a grave of destruction for Egypt. The outcome is determined solely by which side God is on.

Ensuring God Fights For You, Not Against You

Pastor E.A. Adeboye begins a crucial series on life’s battles by establishing the foundational, non-negotiable principle: Your success or failure is not primarily about your strategy or strength, but about whose side God is on. The key is to ensure you are positioned with Him, not against Him.

    1. The True Nature of Our Battles

    Spiritual Warfare is Reality:

    • Ephesians 6:12 corrects our vision. The true adversaries are not flesh and blood but spiritual hierarchies of darkness. Fighting with only natural wisdom and effort against these forces is a guaranteed path to “endless battles” without victory.

    The Illusion of Self-Managed Success:

    • “Lofty plans” that fail often do so because they are conceived and executed in the realm of human wisdom and ability alone, ignoring the spiritual dimension and God’s sovereignty.

    2. The Two Possible Alignments

    1. God Fighting For You (The Assurance of Success):

    • The Condition: Holiness, humility, and committed trust (Psalm 37:5, James 4:6). This alignment turns impossibilities into testimonies, as with the Red Sea.
    • The Evidence: Divine guidance, supernatural provision, and doors that no man can shut. Even in battle, there is a profound sense of peace and divine strategy.

    2. God Fighting Against You (The Assurance of Failure):

    • The Condition: Pride, unrepentant sin, and reliance on “ungodly means” (cheating, fraud, corruption, occult shortcuts). James 4:6 states this plainly: “God resisteth the proud.” To be “resisted” by God is to have the Almighty actively opposing your path.
    • The Evidence: Frustration at every turn, plans collapsing at the edge of success, a lack of peace, and eventual ruin (Proverbs 13:15).

    3. The Red Sea Case Study: A Divine Line in the Sand

The Parting as a Discernment Test:

    • The miracle didn’t just save Israel; it revealed hearts. For Israel, it was a path of deliverance. For Pharaoh, it was an invitation to further rebellion. The same miracle judged one and saved the other based on their alignment with God’s will.

    The Enemy’s Realization:

    • Exodus 14:25 is pivotal. Even God’s enemies recognized the futility of fighting when God is the opponent. Their confession underscores a universal truth: No power can succeed under the active resistance of Jehovah.

    4. Joseph’s Testimony (Genesis 39:2-3, 23)

    Success Through Divine Presence:

    • Whether as a slave or a prisoner, “the LORD was with Joseph, and made all that he did to prosper.” His consistent holiness (refusing Potiphar’s wife) ensured God fought for him, turning every pit into a promotion.

How to Secure God’s Advocacy in Your Battles

    1. Commit Your Way Daily:

    • Begin each day, and each project, with a prayer of deliberate commitment: “Lord, I roll this plan, this battle, onto You. I cease striving. I trust You to direct my steps and bring it to pass.”

    2. Pursue Holiness as Your Strategic Advantage:

    • Holiness is not a restrictive rule; it is the “master key” that unlocks divine favor and turns God from a potential adversary into your guaranteed Advocate. Audit your life for any “crooked means” or compromise.

    3. Cultivate Humility, Reject Pride:

    • Actively reject the temptation of self-sufficiency. Pray, “Lord, keep me from pride that would cause You to resist me. I need You in everything.”

    4. Discern the Source of Resistance:

    • When you face inexplicable blockades, ask in prayer: “Holy Spirit, reveal if this is an enemy attack to be overcome in faith, or Your resistance to a wrong path I must abandon?” Correct alignment is crucial.

Warning: The Deceit of “Successful” Sin
    Temporary Gains, Eternal Losses:

    • A crooked deal may bring quick money, but it invites God’s opposition, which will ultimately collapse the house built on sand (Matthew 7:26-27). What lasts is what God builds.

    The Pharisee’s Error:

    • Outward success without inward holiness is a dangerous illusion. God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). A life that appears successful but is built on sin is actually under God’s judgment.

Conclusion: Aligning with the Captain of the Host

    Pray this:
“Almighty God, Commander of Heaven’s Armies, I recognize today that my battles are spiritual. I humbly commit all my ways, plans, and struggles to You. I repent of any pride, sin, or reliance on ungodly shortcuts that would put me at odds with You. I choose holiness. I put my complete trust in You. Fight for me, O Lord, as You fought for Israel. Let Your presence be my guide and Your favor my shield. Let every enemy of my destiny recognize that You fight for me, and let them flee in disarray. I align myself with You today, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. The Plan Roll-Over: Write down your top 3 current plans or battles on separate pieces of paper. Pray over each one, then physically place them in your Bible at Psalm 37:5 as an act of committing them.
    2. Holiness Audit: Spend time in 1 John 1:9 and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any specific sin, dishonest practice, or unclean association that could invite God’s resistance. Confess and renounce it thoroughly.
    3. Study the Battles of the Saints: Read Joshua 5:13-15. Ask God to give you the revelation Joshua received: “Are you for us, or for our adversaries?” The answer was, “No; but as Commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.” The goal is not to get God on your side, but to ensure you are on His.

Remember: In the battle of life, your strategy is secondary to your alignment. With God for you, no force can prevail. Against you, no scheme can succeed.
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). Ensure He is for you.

    TOPIC: DISCERNING OF SPIRITS I

    MEMORISE:
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
    2 Corinthians 11:14

    READ: 1 John 4:1-3:
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 13 NOVEMBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Many children of God have fallen into the devil’s trap because they lacked the gift of the discerning of spirits. Usually, the messengers that the devil sends to believers appear as angels of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).

They usually seem harmless and very likeable, such that believers let their guards down around them and put their trust in them. By the time such believers realise that they are dealing with the devil’s agents, major damage would have been done, and they would have lost ground to the devil where their destiny is concerned.

However, if such believers have the gift of the discerning of spirits, they will get an inward witness, warning them about the devil’s agents.

Some Christian ladies have married occultic men who disguised themselves as born-again Christians because they did not have the gift of the discerning of spirits. Likewise, some believers have engaged in businesses with the wrong people because they lacked the gift of the discerning of spirits.

Christian employers should not only look at the qualifications of the people they intend to employ; they should also be sensitive to discern the kind of spirits they carry so they do not impact their organisations negatively.

In 1980, I attended the wedding ceremony of one of my three close friends at the time. When I got to the venue, one of the other two friends welcomed me warmly and was doing everything to make me comfortable by offering me all kinds of drinks, food, and souvenirs.

Suddenly, I heard God say, “He is your enemy.” I was shocked because I was really close to him and thought I knew him so well. However, I started treading carefully around him from that day on. Sometime later, I confronted him with what God told me, but he denied being an enemy.

Some months later, we met again to discuss issues concerning the church after the death of my Father in the Lord. There, he showed his true colours and said, “From the day you came into this church, I hated you.”

Beloved, if you don’t have the gift of the discerning of spirits, you most likely will commit the error of making an enemy a friend and a friend an enemy. This is why you must ask God for the gift of the discerning of spirits so you can truly know the spirits controlling the people around you. I pray that every devil disguised as an angel of light around you will be exposed, in Jesus’ name.

    PRAYER POINT

Father, please give me the gift of the discerning of spirits.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Acts 6-7

HYMN 33: GUIDE ME, O THOU GREAT JEHOVAH!

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 13 NOVEMBER 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: 2 Corinthians 11:14 (KJV)
“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
This verse unveils the core strategy of the enemy: deception through disguise. Satan does not always present himself as a grotesque monster; his most effective attacks come through attractive, reasonable, and even “spiritual” facades that are designed to bypass our spiritual defenses.

    BIBLE READING: 1 John 4:1-3
This passage provides the biblical mandate and method for spiritual discernment:

    • v. 1: A direct command: “Believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God.”Discernment is not an option; it is a necessity for every believer.
    • v. 2-3: The foundational test: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. The spirit of antichrist denies this truth. This tests the spirit’s allegiance to the core truth of the Gospel.

The Divine X-Ray: Discerning the Spirit Behind the Smile

Pastor E.A. Adeboye moves from the internal character issue of pride to a critical external spiritual skill: discernment. He teaches that in the spiritual regime of the Holy Spirit, believers must be equipped to see beyond natural appearances to perceive the true spiritual forces at work, especially when they are cloaked in light.

    1. The Enemy’s Primary Strategy: Deceptive Packaging

    Angels of Light, Not Darkness:
The greatest threats to a believer’s destiny rarely come from obvious sources of evil. The devil’s most effective agents are charming, likable, and often appear to be “harmless.” They gain access through trust, friendship, and the appearance of virtue, making their eventual betrayal or negative influence all the more devastating.

    The High Stakes of Discernment:
Daddy Adeboye outlines the catastrophic consequences of lacking this gift:

    • Marital Destruction: Christian women marrying men who are secretly occultic.
    • Financial Ruin: Believers entering business partnerships with the wrong people.
    • Organizational Sabotage: Employers hiring qualified but spiritually toxic employees.
In each case, “major damage” is done before the true nature is revealed.

    2. The Nature of the Gift of Discerning Spirits

    Beyond Natural Suspicion:
This is not a hyper-critical spirit or paranoia. It is a supernatural revelation from the Holy Spirit that exposes the true spiritual identity or agenda behind a person, situation, or teaching. It is an “inward witness,” a divine alarm bell that rings when something is not of God.

A Necessary Component of the Spirit-Filled Life:
While all believers have a measure of discernment through the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:15), the gift of discerning of spirits (1 Corinthians 12:10) is a special manifestation granted for specific situations. It is not for judging motives, but for identifying the spirit at work—whether it is of God, of the flesh, or of the devil.

    3. A Personal Testimony: The Friend Who Was an Enemy

    The Shock of Divine Revelation:
Daddy Adeboye’s personal story is a powerful case study. His friend’s outward actions were warm, generous, and welcoming. By all natural appearances, he was a close ally. The divine revelation, “He is your enemy,” was therefore shocking and counter-intuitive.

    The Confirmation of True Colors:
The initial denial was part of the deception. However, in a moment of truth, the friend’s hidden hatred was revealed, confirming the divine warning. This testimony underscores that the gift of discernment is not based on evidence but on revelation, and it often protects us long before the enemy’s plan is fully manifest.

How to Cultivate and Operate in Spiritual Discernment

    1. Ask for the Gift Diligently:
This gift is crucial for protection. Follow the biblical pattern and ask God for it (1 Corinthians 12:31, 14:1). Be persistent in your request, understanding its importance for your destiny.

    2. Stay Sensitized Through Holiness:
A heart cluttered with sin and worldly compromise muffles the Holy Spirit’s voice. A life of holiness, prayer, and intimacy with God keeps your spiritual senses sharp and able to detect even subtle deceptions (Hebrews 5:14).

    3. Test Every Spirit by the Word:
The ultimate plumb line is Scripture. Does the person, teaching, or opportunity align with the truth of God’s Word? The first test, as in 1 John 4:2, is the confession of Jesus Christ as Lord come in the flesh. Any deviation from core biblical truth is a red flag.

Warning: The Cost of a Dull Spirit
Living without active discernment is like walking through a minefield blindfolded. You will commit the fatal error of “making an enemy a friend and a friend an enemy,” trusting the wrong people and distrusting the right ones. This leaves you vulnerable to catastrophic spiritual, emotional, and financial damage.

Conclusion: Your Prayer for Divine Exposure

    Pray this:
“Holy Spirit, my Teacher and Guide, I ask You for the gift of discerning of spirits. Sharpen my spiritual senses to perceive the true nature of the spirits and people around me. Expose every agent of the devil disguised as an angel of light. Let no deceptive friendship, partnership, or opportunity derail my destiny. I rely on Your revelation to walk in safety and wisdom, in Jesus’ name.”

    Action Steps:

    • Pray for Key Relationships: Bring your close friends, potential spouse, and business partners before God and ask Him specifically to reveal any hidden deception.
    • Study Deception in Scripture: Read about Judas Iscariot (John 12:4-6), the story of Gehazi (2 Kings 5:20-27), and the “false apostles” in 2 Corinthians 11. Note the patterns of deception.
    • Practice in Prayer: When you feel uneasy about a situation or person, don’t dismiss it. Pray into it. Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity. Journal what you sense and watch for confirmation.

Remember: In the regime of the Holy Spirit, you are not called to be gullible. You are called to be as harmless as a dove but as wise as a serpent (Matthew 10:16). The gift of discerning of spirits is a key part of that serpentine wisdom.

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.” (1 John 4:1). This is your command and your protection.

    TOPIC: NEW LIFE

    MEMORISE:
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
    John 11:25

    READ: John 11:1-44
1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whosebrother Lazarus was sick.)
3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place wherehe was.
7 Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.
8 His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

16 Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.
18 Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:
19 And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.

21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.
29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.
30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.

31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.
32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
    35 Jesus wept.

36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone layupon it.
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 6 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Years ago, a pregnant woman was told by her doctors that her baby had died in her womb. The doctors told her that they needed to remove the dead baby from her womb because it was already decaying, and it posed a health risk to her.

However, because the RCCG Congress was near, she told them, “Let me go to the congress first; if God does not perform a miracle, then you can remove the baby.” They told her, “If we delay the procedure for one more week, you will likely die.” Still, she insisted on attending the programme.

On the first and second days of the programme, nothing happened. However, on the third day, God’s power came down so heavily that I could not stand; I had to ask for a chair while I was preaching.

As I was about to sit down, God spoke and said that there was a woman in the congregation whose baby had died in her womb for a long time, and He was bringing the baby back to life. Instantly, the baby came back to life, and she delivered the baby in due time.

Beloved, if your business, marriage, ministry, or any other part of your life has been pronounced dead, I decree that God will breathe new life into it, in Jesus’ name.

One of our members attended a programme where we anointed some handkerchiefs. Some days later, while driving to Lagos, he saw a crowd gathered on the road. Out of curiosity, he came out of his car and discovered that a motorcyclist had been knocked down by a vehicle, and he lay dead by the roadside. He was moved with compassion and then had a leading to bring out the anointed handkerchief and lay it on the corpse. He found his way through the crowd, laid the handkerchief on the dead man, and said, “Get up!” The onlookers thought he was mentally unstable until they saw the dead man come back to life.

God can restore dead things to life and make them as good as new. He can revive a dead business, breathe new life into it, and bring it to a place of global relevance. He can also revive a dead marriage and make it as good as new again. Nothing is ‘too dead’ where Jesus is concerned because He is the resurrection and the life (John 11:25). If He raised Lazarus after he had been dead for four days, no case is impossible with Him (Luke 1:37).

    KEY POINT

Nothing stays dead when God comes on the scene.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Matthew 12-13

HYMN 25: THE GREAT PHYSICIANS NOW IS NEAR

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 6 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: John 11:25
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”
This is the ultimate declaration of Christ’s authority over death. It is not merely a promise for the afterlife but a present-tense reality for any situation that has succumbed to spiritual, emotional, or physical death. He is the source of all life and restoration.

    The God of Resurrection Power

Pastor E.A. Adeboye uses powerful testimonies to anchor our faith in a fundamental truth: no situation is beyond the life-giving power of Jesus Christ. What man declares dead and hopeless, God can declare alive and restored. Your “dead” situation is a platform for God’s greatest miracle.

The Nature of God’s Resurrection Power

    • It Defies Medical and Natural Laws: The testimony of the pregnant woman confirms that God’s power supersedes every medical report and natural conclusion. Where doctors see decay and risk, God sees an opportunity for a creative miracle (Jeremiah 32:27).
    • It Responds to Desperate Faith: The woman’s refusal to accept the doctor’s verdict, even at the risk of her own life, was a powerful act of faith. She positioned herself for a miracle by prioritizing God’s presence over human solution (Matthew 9:21-22).
    • It Works Through Anointed Means: The testimony of the man with the handkerchief shows that God uses consecrated objects as points of contact for faith (Acts 19:11-12). The power is not in the object itself but in the God who honors it and the faith that activates it.
    • It is Comprehensive: God’s resurrection power is not limited to physical death. It applies to every area of life:
      • Dead Businesses: God can revive a failing enterprise and bring it to global relevance.
      • Dead Marriages: God can breathe new life into a relationship that seems cold, loveless, and beyond repair.
      • Dead Ministries: God can revitalize a call that seems to have stagnated or failed.
      • Dead Dreams: God can resurrect visions and promises that have been buried by time and disappointment.

How to Engage God’s Resurrection Power

    1. Refuse to Accept the Death Sentence:
Like the pregnant woman, you must choose to believe God’s report over man’s report (Isaiah 53:1). Do not sign the certificate of death for your situation. Your stubborn faith is the first step toward resurrection.

    2. Position Yourself in God’s Presence:
The miracle happened at the congress. Bring your “dead” situation to the place of prayer, worship, and the preaching of God’s word. It is in His presence that life is found (Psalm 16:11).

    3. Obey the Prophetic Word:
God spoke a specific word that triggered the miracle. Listen for God’s word concerning your situation through preaching, prayer, and the inward witness of the Holy Spirit. Act on it immediately.

    4. Use Your Point of Contact:
The anointed handkerchief was a point of contact. Your point of contact could be a specific scripture you stand on, a prayer you pray, or an act of obedience God requires. Exercise your faith through a tangible action.

    5. Speak to the Dead Situation:
Like the member who said, “Get up!” and like Ezekiel who prophesied to the bones, command life into your situation in the name of Jesus (Mark 11:23). Your words carry creative power when aligned with God’s will.

Warning: Do Not Bury It Prematurely
The story of Lazarus teaches us that God’s timing is perfect, even when it seems delayed (John 11:6). Do not give up and spiritually “bury” your situation before God’s appointed time. What seems like a delay is often God setting the stage for a greater glory.

    Conclusion: Receive Life Now

    Pray this:
“Lord Jesus, You are the Resurrection and the Life. I bring my dead [mention the situation: business, marriage, health, dream] before You today. I refuse every report of death and decay. I speak life into it now by Your authority! Breathe upon it, O breath of God. Restore it and make it whole, better than it was before, for Your glory. I believe that nothing is too dead for You. Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Identify the “Dead” Area: Clearly define what situation in your life needs resurrection.
    2. Find Your Scripture: Locate 2-3 Bible promises that contradict the “death report” and speak them over your situation daily.
    3. Act in Faith: Perform a practical act of faith that demonstrates your belief in God’s resurrection power (e.g., planning for the business, showing love in the marriage).
    4. Share Your Testimony: When the turnaround comes, testify of God’s power to others to strengthen their faith.

Remember: The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you (Romans 8:11). That power is actively available to quicken every mortal—or seemingly mortal—situation in your life.

“I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”(John 11:25). Believe this, and you will see the glory of God.
