Open Heaven 6 April 2025 Devotional: LIKE THE DAY OF PENTECOST VI

OPEN HEAVEN 6 APRIL 2025 TODAY DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: LIKE THE DAY OF PENTECOST VI

    MEMORISE
Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and sacrifices; and the glory of the Lord filled the house.
    2 Chronicles 7:1

    READ: 1 Kings 18:30-39
34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.
35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.
36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.
37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 6 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Today, as I continue my discussion on the events of the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, I want to examine the implication of the fire that appeared and sat on each of the disciples.

In today’s Bible reading, we see that Elijah’s prayer that caused fire to fall from heaven was majorly filled with praises. In the atmosphere of praise, God answers prayers by fire. When the fire fell, idol worship stopped in the land. The reason the agenda of the devil appears to be thriving in certain places is that the necessary conditions for revival have not been met.

Another thing Elijah did before the fire fell in today’s Bible reading was to repair the broken altar. When we repair our broken altars of prayer, praise, and worship, God’s fire will fall. We cannot be lukewarm and expect God to send His fire. The disciples tarried in the upper room before God’s fire fell – they were busy praying and setting the stage for His fire (Acts 2:1-2). After Elijah repaired the broken altar, he put the wood in order and prepared the sacrifice (1 Kings 18:33). We cannot be disorderly and expect God’s fire to fall.

Elijah also asked the people to pour four barrels of water thrice on the sacrifice. Note that it hadn’t rained for three and a half years; therefore, pouring such an amount of water was a huge sacrifice on its own. The people poured a scarce commodity in preparation for rain. No wonder God was in a hurry to send down His fire. Wherever God sees unusual sacrifice, He sends His fire. In 2 Chronicles 5, after completing the temple, Solomon gathered all the Levites, priests, and Israelites, and they sacrificed sheep and oxen, which could not be told or numbered for multitude.

After this great sacrifice, God’s presence filled the temple such that the priests could not stand to minister. Then, as soon as Solomon finished praying, fire fell from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and sacrifices (2 Chronicles 7:1). God’s fire of preservation, increase, and unusual miracles falls in atmospheres of prayer and sacrificial giving.

Beloved, do you desire God’s fire? Don’t hold back in giving Him your heart, time, and resources. Give sacrificially and pray consistently; you will be visited by the fire of God’s power, provision, and glory.

    PRAYER POINT:

Father, I will not withhold anything from You. Please help me to give sacrificially to attract Your fire, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 23: TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 6 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Pentecostal Fire: A Symbol of God’s Presence and Power

Today’s devotional connects the fire at Pentecost (Acts 2:3) to Elijah’s fire (1 Kings 18:38), highlighting its purpose:

    • To authenticate God’s servants (v. 36 – “Answer me, O Lord!”).
    • To consume idolatry (v. 40 – Baal’s prophets were defeated).
    • To ignite revival (2 Chronicles 7:1 – fire preceded glory).

    Key Insight:

    • Fire represents God’s holiness, power, and purifying presence. Without it, the Church is powerless against darkness.

    Application:
✔ Pray for fresh fire over your life, family, and church (Luke 3:16).

    2. The Altar Principle: Repairing Broken Foundations

Elijah’s first act was to repair the broken altar (1 Kings 18:30). This symbolizes:

    • Restoring prayer, praise, and worship as priorities (Hosea 10:12).
    • Addressing spiritual leaks (e.g., compromise, lukewarmness – Revelation 3:16).

    Modern “Broken Altars”:

    • Neglected personal devotion (no daily prayer/WORD time).
    • Halfhearted corporate worship (form without power – 2 Timothy 3:5).

    Action Step:
✔ Identify one “broken altar” in your life (e.g., inconsistent Bible study) and repair it today.

    3. The Sacrifice That Provokes Fire

Open Heaven devotional for today emphasizes three sacrificial acts that attract God’s fire:

    a) Unusual Sacrifice (1 Kings 18:33-35)

    • Elijah used precious water during drought → God responded with fire.
    • Principle: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be” (Matthew 6:21).

    b) Lavish Giving (2 Chronicles 5:6)

    • Solomon offered countless animals → Fire fell.
    • Principle: “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).

    c) Persistent Prayer (Acts 2:1-2)

    • The disciples tarried 10 days → Fire came.
    • Principle: “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

    Warning:

    • No sacrifice = no fire. A costless gospel produces powerless believers.

    4. The Outcome of Divine Fire

When God’s fire falls, it brings:

    1. Divine Authentication
      • Elijah’s fire proved Yahweh as the true God (1 Kings 18:39).
    2. Supernatural Provision
      • Fire consumed the sacrifice, then rain came (v. 45) → Breakthrough follows obedience.
    3. Corporate Transformation
      • At Pentecost, fire birthed the Church (Acts 2:41).

    Personal Promise:

    • “God’s fire will preserve you (Daniel 3:27), increase you (Isaiah 10:27), and work miracles through you (Mark 16:17-18).”

    5. How to Host the Fire

Today’s devotional outlines practical steps to attract God’s fire:

    StepScriptureAction
Repent of compromiseRevelation 2:5Confess/apologize for lukewarmness.
    Give sacrificiallyMalachi 3:10Sow a “water-in-drought” offering.
Pray relentlesslyJames 5:16-18Start a prayer journal for revival.

    Prayer:
“Lord, burn away my dross. Ignite my heart with holy fire! Let my life provoke revival in my generation!”

Final Thought: Your Altar Awaits His Flame

The same God who answered by fire at Carmel and Pentecost waits to respond to your sacrifice.

    “Revival isn’t a prayer point. It’s a lifestyle of altar-building and surrender.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Fast this week to repair your “altar” of prayer.
    2. Give an extravagant offering (time/money/talents) as a faith declaration.
    3. Testify when breakthroughs come.

    MEMORISE
The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
    Job 33:4

    READ: Genesis 1:1-3
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 5 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

As I continue to discuss the significance of the events of the day of Pentecost, I want you to consider that on that day, there was a sound of a mighty rushing wind (Acts 2:1-2). In Exodus 14:21-28, when the wind blew, a way appeared where there was none before. When a revival like the day of Pentecost happens, every force that is hindering the church will be blown away by the wind, and ways will appear where there were none before.

Some years ago, I was invited to preach in an orthodox church, and I preached about the three basic steps of Christianity: salvation, sanctification, and baptism in the Holy Spirit.

When I finished speaking about the Holy Spirit, I was expecting some opposition, but an Archdeacon came to me and said, “Sir, thank you for explaining to us that the Holy Spirit is like wind. If the wind wants to blow past somewhere and someone is blocking the way, what will happen?” I said, “The little I know is that the person will be uprooted.”

Whatever has been standing against your progress and God’s plans for your life will be uprooted once the Holy Ghost comes. I pray that any power of darkness that might be keeping you from fulfilling God’s will and enjoying His blessings will be uprooted by the wind of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name.

Another thing that happens when the wind blows is that there is divine provision. When God was going to give His people meat, He sent forth a wind that brought quails from the sea, and they fell in abundance around the camp such that the people gathered them until the next day (Numbers 11:31-32). There is always more than enough where the wind of the Spirit blows.

Lastly, Job said that the Spirit of God made him, and the breath of the Almighty gave him life (Job 33:4). God’s wind gives life, and where there is life, death cannot stay. When God breathed into man in Genesis 2:7, man became a living soul; he was transformed from mere dust into a walking, talking being.

You will experience transformation when the wind of God’s Spirit blows as it did over the formlessness of the earth and transformed it into a beautiful place (Genesis 1:1-3).

I decree that you will receive a fresh visitation of the wind of God this season, in Jesus’ name.

    PRAYER POINT:

Father, please let the wind of your Spirit blow in my life and ministry, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 15: Pass Me Not O Gentle Saviour

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 5 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Wind of Pentecost: A Symbol of Divine Intervention

The Open Heaven devotional for today begins by drawing parallels between:

    • The “mighty rushing wind” at Pentecost (Acts 2:2) and
    • The wind that parted the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21).

    Key Insight:

    • The Holy Spirit’s wind removes obstacles (like Pharaoh’s army) and creates paths where none existed.

    Prophetic Promise:

    • “Every force hindering your destiny will be uprooted by this wind!”

    Application:
✔ Pray for the Spirit’s wind to blow over your “Red Sea” (impossible situations).

    2. The Wind’s Threefold Work

The devotional for today outlines how the Spirit’s wind operates:

    a) As an Uprooting Force

    • Illustration: The Archdeacon’s question: “What happens when wind meets resistance?” → “It uproots!”
    • Biblical Example:
      • Jesus rebuked winds (Mark 4:39) → Demonstrated authority over chaos.
    • Personal Application:
      • “Any demonic barrier opposing your progress will be dismantled!”

    b) As a Provider

    • Biblical Example:
      • The quail wind (Numbers 11:31) → Supernatural supply.
    • Modern Application:
      • Financial breakthroughs, divine connections, and open doors follow the Spirit’s movement.

    c) As a Life-Giver

    • Biblical Foundation:
      • Creation (Genesis 1:2) → The Spirit hovered to bring order.
      • Resurrection (Ezekiel 37:9-10) → The breath of God revived dry bones.
    • Personal Promise:
      • “Dead dreams, health, or relationships will revive by the Spirit’s breath!”

    3. The Wind’s Transformative Power

    Today’s devotional emphasizes:

    • The same wind that shaped creation can reshape your life (Genesis 1:3).
    • Testimony: The orthodox church’s openness to the Holy Spirit despite tradition.

    Key Lesson:

    • Religious barriers collapse when the wind blows (e.g., denominational divides).

    Action Step:
✔ Invite the Spirit to transform one “formless” area of your life (career, family, health).

    4. How to Host the Wind of the Spirit

The devotional implies conditions for the wind to blow:

    1. Expectancy:
      • The disciples waited in unity (Acts 1:14).
    2. Yieldedness:
      • Like sails catching wind, surrender to the Spirit’s direction.
    3. Praise:
      • The Pentecost wind came amid worship (Acts 2:11).

    Warning:

    • Resisting the Spirit quenches His work (1 Thessalonians 5:19).

    Prayer:
“Holy Spirit, blow through my life. Uproot every hindrance, provide miraculously, and revive what’s dead!”

    5. Prophetic Declarations for the Reader

    The devotional closes with decrees:

    1. “A fresh visitation of God’s wind is upon you!”
    2. “Your ‘Red Sea’ is parting now!”
    3. “Your ‘dry bones’ are coming alive!”

    Stand on These Promises:

    • “The wind blows where it wishes… so is everyone born of the Spirit” (John 3:8).
    • “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).

Final Thought: Your Turn to Soar

Just as eagles ride wind currents, believers are called to:

    • Rise above storms (Isaiah 40:31).
    • Navigate by the Spirit’s direction (Galatians 5:25).

“The same wind that birthed the Church at Pentecost is ready to rebirth your destiny!”

    Action Steps:

    1. Identify one obstacle the Spirit’s wind must uproot (write it down).
    2. Spend 10 minutes daily inviting the Spirit’s wind over that area.
    3. Share this message with someone needing breakthrough.

18 Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.
19 And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
20 Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.
21 And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the Lord.
22 And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 4 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In continuation of my discussion about the significance of the events of the day of Pentecost, I want to point out that those who listened to the disciples after they had been filled with the Holy Ghost said. “We hear them praising the good works of God in our various languages” (Acts 2:1-12). This means that there must be constant thanksgiving and praise to God if we want to experience a mighty move of the Holy Spirit in the body of Christ today

When we meet to pray concerning our needs, God will show up. However, when we meet just to Thank him and acknowledge his greatness, He will manifest in a powerful way, and there will be a revival; miracles will become commonplace in our midst. and there will be many testimonies.

Years ago, I promised to visit one of the RCCG elders and told him I would spend just five minutes with him. Before I arrived, he had beautiful hymns and praise songs playing because he had observed that l am always humming songs of praise to God. I didn’t know when I spent one hour with him because I was enjoying the music. If you are God’s child and He always hears praises around you, He will definitely stay with you. God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3); He comes wherever He is exalted and extolled.

People who complain and murmur cannot host God’s presence. When the Israelites murmured, it displeased God, and at some point, His fire fell among them. Unlike the tongues of fire on the day of rentecost, this fire burnt and consumed them (Numbers 11:1).

When Paul and Silas were imprisoned, instead of complaining, they started praising God God came into the prison and caused a great earthquake such that the foundations were shaken (Acts 16:25-26). When you praise God amidst difficulties, He brings solutions that men cannot deny, giving you blessings that extend to those around you. When the prison was shaken, all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bands were loosed.

Beloved, surrender your life to Jesus Christ if you haven’t done so and choose to live a life of praise. The Holy Spirit will dwell in you and manifest mightily around you. He will liberate you if you are in any form of bondage and bless you so much that the blessings will be evident in your life and in the lives of everyone connected to you.

    ACTION POINT:

Praise and thank God for 30 minutes. Don’t ask for anything; just praise and thank Him.

HYMN 17: PRAISE MY SOUL THE KING OF HEAVEN

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 4 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. Pentecost and the Language of Praise

The Open Heaven devotional for today begins by highlighting the first fruit of the Holy Spirit’s outpouring“We hear them… praising the good works of God” (Acts 2:11). This reveals:

    • Praise is the native language of Spirit-filled believers.
    • Miracles follow environments saturated with thanksgiving (Psalm 67:5-6).

    Key Insight:

    • The disciples weren’t preaching at Pentecost. They were praising, and this drew multitudes (Acts 2:6).

    Application:
✔ Prioritize praise over petitions in personal and corporate worship.
✔ Use Scripture (e.g., Psalm 103) to fuel your praise.

    2. Praise: The Magnet for God’s Manifest Presence

Today’s devotional contrasts two divine encounters:

    1. Prayer Meetings (Needs-Focused):
      • “God will show up.”
    2. Praise Gatherings (God-Focused):
      • “He will manifest powerfully… miracles become commonplace.”

    Biblical Examples:

    • Paul and Silas (Acts 16:25-26): Praise triggered a jailbreak.
    • Jehoshaphat’s Army (2 Chronicles 20:21-22): Praise confused the enemy.

    Modern Testimony (Daddy Adeboye’s Story):

    • The elder’s strategic worship music extended a 5-minute visit to an hour—God “inhabits” praise (Psalm 22:3).

    Action Step:
✔ Create a “praise atmosphere” at home/work with worship music.

    3. The Danger of Murmuring

    The devotional for today warns:

    • Complaints repel God’s presence (Numbers 11:1 – Israel’s fiery judgment).
    • Praise invites deliverance (Jeremiah 30:19 – God turns mourning to joy).

    Key Contrast:

    MurmuringPraise
Focuses on problemsFocuses on God’s greatness
    Invites judgmentReleases breakthrough
    IsolatesUnites (like Pentecost)

    Prayer:
“Lord, uproot every root of complaining in me. Fill my mouth with high praises!”

    4. Praise as Spiritual Warfare

Psalm 149:6 connects praise and the “two-edged sword” (God’s Word). This signifies:

    • Praise is a weapon that:
      • Looses chains (Acts 16:26).
      • Confounds enemies (Psalm 8:2).
    • Satan flees from worship (James 4:7).

    Practical Warfare Strategy:

    1. Identify a “prison” (bondage) in your life.
    2. Praise God specifically for His power over it.
    3. Declare Scripture (e.g., Psalm 107:14 – “He broke my chains”).

    5. A Call to Lifestyle Praise

The devotional closes with an invitation:

    1. For Unbelievers:
      • “Surrender to Christ” → Receive the Spirit’s indwelling (Acts 2:38).
    2. For Believers:
      • “Choose praise” → Unlock liberation and overflow (Jeremiah 30:19).

    Prophetic Promise:

    • Your praise will bless others (like the prisoners freed in Acts 16).

Final Thought: Your Praise Triggers Their Breakthrough

At Pentecost, praise preceded harvest (Acts 2:41). Likewise:

    • Your worship could soften hearts for salvation.
    • Your thanksgiving could release someone else’s miracle.

“Don’t just pray about your prison – praise your way out of it, and watch the walls crumble!”

    Action Steps:

    1. Start each day with 10 minutes of pure praise (no requests).
    2. Share a testimony of praise-induced breakthrough this week.
    3. Study the prayers of Paul (mostly thanksgiving – Philippians 1:3).

    “A praising life is a powerful life – because it’s a God-inhabited life!”

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 3 APRIL 2024 TODAY MESSAGE

Over the past two days, I have been discussing the significance of the events that happened on the day of Pentecost.

On that day, everyone in that upper room received a touch from God. Their hearts were tuned to God, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.

If we truly want a revival in our generation, we cannot watch weak believers remain in their weak states. We must sharpen each other (Proverbs 27:17) such that the ‘weakest’ among us will be working miracles. If we’re really united, we won’t look away when we see a brother dozing when he should be praying; we will hold his hand to encourage him to pray.

We will not see a sister dressing indecently and showing signs of backsliding without trying to encourage her faith. If someone’s fire seems to be dying, pray for the fellow rather than use him or her as a bad example to others to make yourself look righteous.

Everyone in the upper room on that particular day received a touch from God because they submitted to Him and to one another – nobody felt superior.

In the 70s, I knew a young man called Bro Sam. He wasn’t a member of RCCG, but he was very popular because he was heavily anointed by God. He couldn’t speak English, but he was so anointed and was well sought after. On one occasion, he was invited to preach at a college. When he got up to say that he didn’t speak English and would need an interpreter, Queen’s English began to flow from his lips. He didn’t know what he was saying, out the message kept flowing.

After about one hour, people began to rush forward, weeping and crying for salvation. As soon as he left the college, he couldn’t speak English again. There were testimonies of at least three dead people that God resurrected through him. Whenever he prayed for the sick, he would describe how their sicknesses were moving out of their bodies until they were completely healed.

However, pride entered his heart after a while. and whenever he was called to go for Bible study, he would say “Who is preaching? How many dead people has he raised?” Sadly, he ended up in an asylum.

Beloved, if we want God’s power to rest among us, we must shun pride and submit to one another in the fear of God (Ephesians 5:21). We must also look out for the feeble among us and lift them up.

    ACTION POINT:

Shun pride and lift your fellow believers up.

HYMN 59: I WANT TO BE LIKE JESUS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 3 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Heart of Pentecost: Unity and Mutual Edification

Open Heaven devotional for today draws a direct line between Pentecostal power and interdependence in the Body of Christ. On the day of Pentecost:

    • All in the upper room were filled (Acts 2:1-4). No one was left out.
    • No hierarchy existed. They submitted to God and each other (Ephesians 5:21).

    Key Insight:

    • Revival thrives where believers sharpen one another (Proverbs 27:17), not compete.
    • Weak believers are not to be scorned but strengthened (1 Thessalonians 5:14).

    Application:
✔ Identify a “weaker” brother/sister—commit to praying for/with them this week.
✔ Reject spiritual pride (e.g., “I’m more anointed than others”).

    2. The Tragedy of Pride: Bro Sam’s Cautionary Tale

The story of “Bro Sam” illustrates:

    1. God’s Power in Humility:
      • He spoke fluent English supernaturally despite no education.
      • Raised the dead, healed the sick – signs followed his submission.
    2. The Fall Through Pride:
      • Self-exaltation (“How many dead has he raised?”) → Insanity.
      • Principle: “God resists the proud” (James 4:6).

    Modern Parallels:

    • Leaders who belittle others’ ministries.
    • Believers who flaunt spiritual gifts as status symbols.

    Warning:

    • Gifts ≠ maturity. Without love, even miracles are empty (1 Corinthians 13:1-2).

    3. Practical Ways to “Submit to One Another”

Today’s devotional outlines actions that foster Pentecostal unity:

    SituationSubmission in ActionScripture
A brother is spiritually drowsyWake him to prayHebrews 10:24-25
A sister dresses immodestlyCorrect with loveGalatians 6:1
    A leader errsRestore gently2 Timothy 2:24-26

    Corporate Responsibility:

    • Churches must prioritize discipleship over spectacle.
    • Small groups should be safe spaces for growth, not judgment.

    4. The Fire-Keepers: Reviving the “Feeble”

The devotional warns against neglecting struggling believers:

    • “If someone’s fire is dying…” Pray for them, don’t gossip.
    • Example: Aaron and Hur held Moses’ hands up in battle (Exodus 17:12).

    Prayer Strategy:
“Lord, make me a ‘fire-keeper’—someone who reignites passion for You in others!”

    5. A Prophetic Call to the Modern Church

The devotional for today sounds an alarm:

    • Division and pride are extinguishing the Spirit’s fire.
    • Solution: Return to the upper room values of humility and mutual care.

    Declaration:
“I choose to submit to God and my spiritual family. I will lift others, not lord over them!”

Final Thought: Your Hands Hold Another’s Flame

Pentecost wasn’t about solo superstars but a united company (Acts 2:1). Likewise:

    • Your encouragement could save a wavering soul.
    • Your humility could preserve your anointing.

“The same Spirit who empowered Bro Sam to raise the dead waits to move through YOU—but only if your heart stays low.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Repent of any pride or neglect toward weaker believers.
    2. Reach out to one person needing spiritual support today.
    3. Study 1 Corinthians 12:22-25 on God’s care for “weaker” members.

    MEMORISE
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
    Romans 12:5

    READ: 1 Corinthians 12:18-27
18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?
20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.
21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.
25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 2 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

I started discussing yesterday about thei impact of the day of Pentecost and how Christians must be focused and separated from the world for us to experience such a revival again.

Another thing I must point out is that on the day of Pentecost, the disciples were in one accord. If we want to see the power of the Holy Spirit in action, there must be love and unity in the Body of Christ, irrespective or denominations.

Psalm 133:1-3 says that God commands a blessing when people are united. It didn’t say that God gives a blessing: it says that He commands a blessing. In other words, He says, “Blessing, you must manifest.” When there is genuine love and unity among the members of a church or fellowship, there is absolutely no doubt that every member of that fellowship will be blessed.

God’s power will not manifest in a divided church or family. Unity attracts God’s presence, just as sugar attracts ants. Likewise, if a church is full of strife, jealousy, and all sorts of carnal works. God’s power will be far from that church. Paul had to rebuke the Corinthian church for having factions.

While some said that they were for Paul, some claimed that they were for Apollos (1 Corinthians 3:4). Paul called them carnal for their disunity. The Body of Christ is one, and if we want to experience God’s power and presence like on the day of Pentecost, we must lay aside our petty differences and focus on the One whose name we bear – Jesus Christ.

We cannot attack one another and expect God to dwell among us.

But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
    Galatians 5:15

In the Scripture above, we see that when we live in disunity, we will consume one another. Many believers have injured other members of the Body of Christ with their words and actions. We must stop this and live in love and unity so that God’s presence and power can truly be manifested among us.

Loving one another and being united is a sure way of showing the world that we are truly Jesus’ disciples (John 13:35). We should not let unbelievers reject the gospel because they do not see love among us as Christians.

The body of Christ must unite. Gossiping, backbiting, and unhealthy competition among denominations must stop if we want to experience a true revival by the Holy Spirit.

    PRAYER POINT:

Father, please help me to love others as myself and let there be unity among Christians.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 2 APRIL 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Pentecostal Blueprint: Unity Precedes Power

Open Heaven devotional emphasizes that the Holy Spirit’s outpouring at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4) occurred when the disciples were “in one accord” (Acts 2:1). This unity:

    • Was not uniformity (they retained individuality) but shared purpose.
    • Triggered divine action: Psalm 133:3 notes God commands blessing where brethren dwell together in unity.

    Key Insight:

    • Unity is non-negotiable for revival. A divided church cannot host God’s fullness.

    Application:
✔ Pray for unity in your local church and across denominations (John 17:21).
    ✔ Reject factional spirits (e.g., “I follow Paul/Apollos” – 1 Corinthians 3:4).

    2. The Cost of Disunity: Strife Quenches the Spirit

The Corinthian church’s infighting (1 Corinthians 1:10-13) made them carnal (1 Corinthians 3:3). The devotional warns:

    • Gossip, jealousy, and competition drain spiritual power.
    • “Biting and devouring” (Galatians 5:15) destroys the Body from within.

    Modern Manifestations:

    • Denominational rivalry over doctrines or growth metrics.
    • Personal conflicts masked as “spiritual discernment.”

    Action Step:
✔ Repent of any participation in disunity (e.g., criticism, exclusivity).

    3. Unity as Evangelism: Love That Draws the World

Jesus declared: “By this all will know you are My disciples—if you love one another” (John 13:35). The devotional stresses:

    • Unbelievers judge Christ by our unity (or lack thereof).
    • A fractured Church repels; a united Church attracts.

    Example:

    • The early Church’s love (Acts 2:44-47) led to “the Lord adding daily” (v. 47).

    Prayer:
“Lord, make my love for fellow believers so visible that it compels others to seek You.”

    4. Practical Steps to Foster Unity

    Barrier to UnitySolutionScripture
    PrideHumility and mutual honorPhilippians 2:3
    UnforgivenessReconciliationMatthew 5:23-24
Doctrinal disputesFocus on essentials (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)Romans 14:1

    Corporate Action:

    • Joint prayer initiatives across churches.
    • Serving together in community projects.

    5. A Prophetic Call to Oneness

Today’s devotional concludes with an urgent plea:

    • “Gossiping and backbiting must stop”—they are revival blockers.
    • Unity is not optional for Pentecostal power.

    Declaration:
“I choose love over division. I am a peacemaker in Christ’s Body!”

Final Thought: Your Role in the Coming Revival

The next global awakening will not be birthed in isolation but through:

    • Interdependent relationships (1 Corinthians 12:21).
    • Sacrificial love (1 John 3:16).

“Sugar attracts ants; unity attracts God. What are you attracting?”

    Action Steps:

    1. Initiate reconciliation with a fellow believer you’ve distanced from.
    2. Participate in (or organize) an ecumenical prayer gathering.
    3. Study Jesus’ prayer for unity (John 17) and meditate on its implications.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
    Acts 1:8

    READ: Acts 1:12-14
12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.
13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 1 APRIL 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

The first time the Holy Ghost came to dwell in man was on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:1-12. Jesus had told His disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they received the Holy Ghost (Luke 24:49). The day of Pentecost and the events that followed defined Christianity forever. If only there could be a repeat of that day in churches all over the world; oh, what a revival that will be.

There was a similar experience in Azusa, USA, in 1906, and up until today, people are still talking about that revival. For the next few days, I will be examining what happened on the day of Pentecost and the implications of the events of that day.

One major thing you must note is that the disciples were in an upper room – they were separated from the rest of the world. While everyone around them was enjoying the Passover feast. they were in a different realm, praying, fasting, and yearning to go deeper in the Lord. It we are to experience a repeat of that day, Christians must learn to live separately from the world (2 Corinthians 6:14).

You cannot be engrossed in the pursuit of material things like the rest of the world and expect the Holy Spirit to descend on you and manifest through you as He did on the day of Pentecost. You cannot expect to carry the power of the Holy Ghost when your eyes are focused on worldly things. What you behold is what you will eventually become (2 Corinthians 3:18). You cannot love the world and claim to also love God (1 John 2:15). You cannot keep listening to worldly music and expect to be filled with the Holy Spirit. What you listen to greatly impacts your life, and faith comes by hearing God’s word (Romans 10:17).

In the upper room, the disciples were not distracted by mundane things. Their eyes, representing their focus, were single, causing them to be filled with light (Matthew 6:22). Their desire was to wait for the promise of the Father, and they did this wholeheartedly. To receive and manifest the Holy Spirit’s power, you must seek God wholeheartedly.

Only those who seek God with all their hearts and souls find Him (Deuteronomy 4:29). Only those who separate themselves from sin and distractions will receive the Holy Spirit’s power, like on the day of Pentecost. Beloved, God wants you to be separate because you are His (2 Corinthians 6:17) and not of this world (John 15:19).

    ACTION POINT:

Let go of distractions and everything that can keep you from being filled with the Holy Spirit.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 1 APRIL 2025 TODAY COMMENTARY

    1. The Pentecost Paradigm: A Model for Revival

Open Heaven devotional for today begins by highlighting the first indwelling of the Holy Spirit in believers at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4). This event:

    • Defined New Testament Christianity transitioning from law to grace, fear to power.
    • Birthed the Church’s missionary zeal (Acts 1:8 → Acts 2:41 – 3,000 saved in one day).

    Key Insight:

    • Pentecost wasn’t a one-time event but a pattern for spiritual empowerment.
    • Azusa Street Revival (1906) mirrored Pentecost, proving God repeats His moves when conditions are met.

    Application:
✔ Pray for a fresh Pentecost in your life/church.
✔ Study revival histories (e.g., Wales 1904, Hebrides 1949) to discern God’s patterns.

    2. The Upper Room Principle: Separation for Impartation

    The disciples’ preparation teaches:

    1. Physical Separation:
      • They stayed in the upper room, distanced from Passover festivities (Acts 1:13-14).
      • Principle: “Come out from among them and be separate” (2 Corinthians 6:17).
    2. Spiritual Focus:
      • Prayer and fasting replaced worldly distractions (v. 14).
      • Unity (“with one accord”) preceded the outpouring (Acts 2:1).

    Modern Parallels:

    • Social media/news addiction vs. pursuit of God’s presence.
    • Materialism vs. kingdom priorities (Matthew 6:33).

    Warning:

    • “You cannot love the world and God” (1 John 2:15). Compromise dilutes power.

    Action Step:
✔ Fast from distractions (e.g., entertainment) for 3 days to seek God.

    3. The Cost of Spiritual Power

The devotional outlines non-negotiable conditions for Pentecostal power:

    RequirementBiblical SupportModern Application
    Holiness2 Corinthians 6:14-18Reject sinful habits/associations
Focused DesireMatthew 6:22Prioritize God’s presence over pleasures
    Word-CenterednessRomans 10:17Replace worldly music/media with Scripture
UnityActs 2:1Resolve conflicts in the church/family

    Key Quote:
“What you behold is what you become” (2 Corinthians 3:18).

    Prayer:
“Lord, purify my gaze. Fix my eyes on You alone!”

    4. The Reward of Wholehearted Seeking

    God promises:

    • “You will seek Me and find Me when you search with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
    • Pentecost was birthed from 10 days of relentless seeking (Acts 1:14 → 2:1-4).

    Personal Testimony (Adeboye’s Implication):

    • Revival comes when believers emulate the upper room:
      • Sacrificial prayer (Colossians 4:2).
      • Radical obedience (John 14:15).

    Encouragement:

    • Your “upper room” (prayer closet, small group) can become a power hub.

    5. A Prophetic Call to the Modern Church

Today’s devotional sounds an urgent alarm:

    • Worldliness in the church has quenched the Spirit’s power (1 Thessalonians 5:19).
    • Solution: Return to Pentecostal purity and passion.

    3 Steps to Personal Pentecost:

    1. Repent of compromise (Revelation 2:5).
    2. Separate from sinful/distracting influences.
    3. Tarry in prayer until empowered (Luke 24:49).

    Declaration:
“I choose separation over assimilation. Fill me afresh, Holy Spirit!”

Final Thought: You Are a Candidate for Power!

The same Spirit who fell at Pentecost lives in you (1 Corinthians 3:16). Your obedience triggers His manifestation.

    Prayer of Consecration:
“Father, I surrender every distraction. Prepare me as You did the upper room disciples. Baptize me in fresh power for global witness, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

“Your ‘upper room’ season of separation will birth your ‘Pentecost’ of power!”

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour
    2 Timothy 2:20

    READ: Ezra 1:1-11
1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LordGod of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.
4 And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.
5 Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.

6 And all they that were about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.
    7 Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;
8 Even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
9 And this is the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives,
10 Thirty basons of gold, silver basons of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand.
11 All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up with them of the captivity that were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 31 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

Today’s memory verse tells us that there are vessels unto honour and unto dishonour in a great man’s house. God will always find something to use people for; He will use His children as vessels unto honour, while those who refuse to live a holy life will be used as vessels unto dishonour.

One day, while driving to church to minister to some sick people, I got stuck in a terrible traffic jam. After a while, I noticed a side of the road that was free of traffic, and I moved my car there. Unknown to me, there was a rule that vehicles could only drive on that side of the road after 10am, and that was why it was free. Some policemen stopped my car and said, “Don’t you know that you can only pass here from 10am?” I told them I didn’t know and that I was sorry. I explained that I am a pastor, and I was hurrying to go and pray for the sick.

They said, “Well, you know what to do.” I knew they were expecting a bribe, but as a child of God, I couldn’t do it. Therefore, they said, “You will wait here until 10am before we let you go.” As I waited, some street boys who were some distance away recognised me, and one of them said, “That is Daddy Adeboye. It seems the policemen are harassing him; let’s go and help him.” When the policemen saw them approaching, they left me and hurried away.

In that situation, God used the street boys to threaten the policemen into letting me go.

When God wanted to free His people from Babylon, He used Cyrus, an unbelieving ruler. Long before his birth, Isaiah had prophesied about him and the part he would play in the freedom of God’s people (Isaiah 44:28, Isaiah 45:1-5). God can use unbelievers to do His will; however, such unbelievers will still end up in hell if they do not surrender to Christ, as all sinners will end up in hell.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:18

Beloved, surrender your life to Christ if you are not yet born again and begin to live a holy life so that God can use you as a vessel unto honour and not unto dishonour.

    KEY POINT

God will always use people for His will. However, they can choose to either be vessels unto honour or vessels unto dishonour.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

HYMN 23: TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 31 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Divine Distinction: Vessels of Honor vs. Dishonor

Open Heaven devotional for today begins by drawing a striking contrast between two types of vessels in God’s “great house” (the world/Church):

    • Vessels of honor (gold/silver): Believers who pursue holiness (2 Timothy 2:21).
    • Vessels of dishonor (wood/clay): Those who reject God’s standards, yet He still uses them temporarily (e.g., Cyrus, Pharaoh).

    Key Insight:

    • God’s sovereignty: He can use anyone even unbelievers to fulfill His plans (Proverbs 21:1).
    • Eternal consequences: Being used by God ≠ salvation (John 3:18).

    Application:
✔ Examine your life: “Am I a vessel of honor—set apart for God’s glory?”
✔ Pray: “Lord, refine me as Your golden vessel for noble purposes.”

    2. God’s Unconventional Methods: Case Studies

The devotional for today shares two examples of God using unlikely instruments:

    1. Street Boys as Protectors:
      • Daddy Adeboye’s traffic ordeal → God used rough youths to intimidate corrupt police.
      • Principle: “The weak things confound the mighty” (1 Corinthians 1:27).
    2. Cyrus as a Deliverer:
      • A pagan king fulfilled prophecy (Isaiah 44:28) to free Israel.
      • Principle: “God’s purposes transcend human intentions” (Genesis 50:20).

    Warning:

    • Don’t mistake temporal usefulness for eternal approval (Matthew 7:22-23).

    3. The Cost of Being a Vessel of Honor

Daddy Adeboye’s refusal to bribe police highlights non-negotiables for honorable vessels:

    1. Integrity Over Convenience:
      • “I couldn’t pay a bribe” (Proverbs 15:27).
    2. Trust in Divine Justice:
      • God defended him through unexpected means (Psalm 37:5-6).
    3. Patience in Trials:
      • He waited (until 10 am) rather than compromise.

    Modern Parallels:

    • Workplace: Reject unethical shortcuts.
    • Ministry: Avoid “success at any cost” mentality.

    Action Step:
✔ Identify one area where you’re tempted to compromise. Stand firm today.

    4. The Urgency of Surrender

Today’s devotional closes with a gospel appeal:

    • Vessels of honor must be “cleansed” (born again) and “set apart” (sanctified)—2 Timothy 2:21.
    • Hell awaits vessels of dishonor who reject Christ (John 3:36).

    Invitation:
“If you’re unsaved, surrender now. If saved, pursue holiness relentlessly!”

Final Thought: Your Life as a Divine Instrument

God is searching for willing vessels (Isaiah 6:8). Will you be:

    • golden vessel that carries His presence?
    • Or a clay pot cracked by sin and destined for destruction?

“You were created for honor. Don’t settle for temporary usefulness—aim for eternal impact!”

    Prayer of Consecration:
“Father, cleanse me from all dishonor. Mold me into a vessel fit for Your glory, that I may shine as gold in Your house forever. Amen.”

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 30 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

Typically, children tend to respect and even fear their fathers more than their mothers because men are generally considered stronger and sterner. A mother may not be as physically strong as a father, but she has immense strength in other areas.

I usually say that I am where I am today because of God’s grace and my mother’s prayers. Whenever I did something that impressed her, she would say, “You will call one fellow, and 100 will answer.” What she meant was, ‘You will be very influential.’ Today, God has blessed me with great influence over many people across the world. When a mother is happy with a child, whatever she deeply desires and prays over the child will come to pass.

Beloved, Ephesians 6:2-3 instructs you to honour your father and mother (not just your father alone) so that you can enjoy tremendous blessings. These days, many children don’t even pick up their parents’ calls.

If you have parents, you must be intentional about honouring them because it is a prerequisite for God’s blessings and long life.

When I was younger, my mother would instruct me to stay back at home to study while other children in the neighbourhood were out playing. Thank God I obeyed her.

Studying my books helped me to ignore many distractions and achieve great things in life. In appreciation, I took good care of her before she passed away. I made sure that I saw her at least once every two weeks so that she wouldn’t miss me so much. If your mother is still alive, or if you have mother figures in your life, ensure that you always honour them by being obedient and caring towards them.

If you are a mother, your role in deciding your children’s future is very important. You must ensure that they are disciplined and focused on fulfilling God’s will for their lives. Don’t pamper them; train them diligently. Don’t prioritise making money or partying over spending quality time with them. Also, be willing to make sacrifices to help them grow up in wisdom, strength, and the way of the Lord.

I pray that God will bless all mothers with the strength and courage to nurture their children the right way. If you’re married and are seeking God’s face for the fruit of the womb, I decree that by this time next year, you will be carrying your baby, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 33: GUIDE ME, O THOU GREAT JEHOVAH!

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 30 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Unique Strength of a Mother’s Influence

The Open Heaven devotional for today begins by contrasting parental roles:

    • Fathers often command respect through strength and sternness.
    • Mothers wield spiritual and emotional strength—especially through prayer and prophetic words.

    Personal Testimony (Daddy Adeboye’s Story):

    • His mother’s declaration: “You will call one fellow, and 100 will answer” shaped his global influence.
    • Principle: A mother’s words carry divine weight when aligned with God’s will (Proverbs 18:21).

    Biblical Examples:

    • Hannah (1 Samuel 1:27-28): Prayed Samuel into destiny.
    • Mary (John 2:5): Her counsel prompted Jesus’ first miracle.

    Application:
✔ Mothers: Speak life over your children (e.g., “You will serve God mightily!”).
✔ Children: Treasure your mother’s prayers and wisdom.

    2. The Command to Honor Parents

Ephesians 6:2-3 ties long life and prosperity to honoring both parents. The devotional laments modern trends:

    • Disrespect: Ignoring parents’ calls or needs.
    • Disobedience: Rejecting their guidance (like Adeboye’s childhood peers who prioritized play over study).

    Warning:

    • Dishonoring parents invites curses (Proverbs 20:20) and missed blessings (Malachi 4:6).

    Action Steps:
    ✔ Call/visit parents regularly (1 Timothy 5:4).
✔ Fulfill Proverbs 23:22: “Listen to your father who begot you, and do not despise your mother when she is old.”

    3. A Mother’s Sacred Responsibility

Today’s Open Heaven devotional charges mothers to:

    1. Prioritize Discipline Over Pampering
      • “Train up a child…” (Proverbs 22:6) requires correction (Hebrews 12:11).
    2. Sacrifice for Spiritual Growth
      • Like Moses’ mother (Exodus 2:1-10), invest time over money.
    3. Model Godliness
      • Lois and Eunice (2 Timothy 1:5) passed faith to Timothy.

    To Mothers:
“Your tears, prayers, and tough love shape destinies. Don’t grow weary!”

    4. Prophetic Declarations for Families

    1. For Mothers:
      • “God will strengthen you to raise godly children” (Isaiah 40:29).
    2. For Children:
      • “Your obedience unlocks generational blessings” (Deuteronomy 5:16).
    3. For Barren Women:
      • “By next year, you will hold your baby” (Psalm 113:9).

    Prayer:
“Lord, make me a channel of Your love and truth in my family. Heal broken parent-child relationships today!”

Final Thought: Mothers Are Kingdom Builders

Deborah (Judges 5:7) arose as a “mother in Israel” to deliver a nation. Likewise:

    • Your prayers can shift nations.
    • Your children are your greatest legacy.

“The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.”

    Call to Action:

    1. Mothers: Pray fervently for your children’s destiny.
    2. Children: Write a gratitude letter or send a gift to your mom this week.
    3. All: Repent for dishonoring parents; restore broken bonds.

“A godly mother’s influence outlives her—nurture it prayerfully!”

TOPIC: DON’T LOOK AT THEIR FACES

    MEMORISE
Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
    Jeremiah 1:8

    READ: Jeremiah 1:4-10
4 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
9 Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lordsaid unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 29 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

Many believers fail to share the gospel because of fear. The key to overcoming this, however, is to ask God for boldness and wisdom for each unique occasion.

I recall a time I flew first class because someone gifted me the ticket. I sat next to a man who I could tell was very rich from his appearance. I really wanted to tell him about Jesus, but I was afraid he wouldn’t listen because he would think that he was above such things. Therefore, I decided to go about it with wisdom. I said, “Sir, l’d love to introduce you to my Daddy.” He asked, “Who is your Daddy?” “My Daddy is a great chief.

He’s into oil and gas, and He does some silver, gold, and diamonds. He also has a big farm with thousands of cattle,” I replied. Then he asked, “How come I don’t know him? What’s your father’s name?” I knew that if I said Jesus at that stage, I might lose Him, so I said,

“My Father’s name is Chief Emmanuel.” That got his attention, and I was able to share the gospel with him.

When God called young Jeremiah to preach to the rebellious children of Israel, He instructed him not to be afraid of their faces. The same God is with you when you go out to tell others about Jesus’ love. He has given you His Spirit to teach you what to say, just as He taught me on that flight.

No matter how tough-faced or uninterested people may look, don’t look at their faces; focus on the One who sent you and deliver His message to them.

An adage in Yorubaland says that you shouldn’t fear the one you are delivering a message to but the one who sent you to deliver the message.

Don’t allow the fear of men prevent you from preaching the gospel. Keep your eyes on God, do as He has commanded all believers (Matthew 28:18-19), and leave the conviction and conversion to Him.

Once God is with you, nothing else matters. He’ll teach you what to say and how to say it. Preaching the gospel is not about how excellently you can speak and quote the Scriptures but the demonstration of the Spirit and of power (1 Corinthians 2:4).

Beloved, surrender your life to Jesus today if you haven’t; He is the only way to salvation. If you have surrendered your life to Him, ensure you share the gospel with others; don’t be afraid of their faces.

    ACTION POINT

Tell someone about the love of Jesus today

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

HYMN 20: STAND UP! STAND UP FOR JESUS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 29 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Paralysis of Fear in Evangelism

Open Heaven devotional for today opens by addressing a common struggle among believers: fear of sharing the gospel. This fear often stems from:

    • Intimidation by status (e.g., the rich man on the plane).
    • Fear of rejection (John 15:18 – “The world hates you”).
    • Self-doubt (“Am I eloquent enough?”).

    God’s Response to Fear:

    • To Jeremiah: “Do not be afraid of their faces” (v. 8).
    • To us: “I am with you” (Matthew 28:20).

    Key Insight:

    • Fear shifts focus from God’s power to human reactions.

    Application:
✔ Pray for boldness (Acts 4:29) and wisdom (Colossians 4:5-6) before witnessing.

    2. Divine Strategies for Effective Witnessing

Pastor Adeboye’s testimony illustrates tactful evangelism:

    1. Hook Their Interest:
      • He described God as a “Chief” with vast resources – language the rich man understood.
    2. Avoid Immediate Jargon:
      • Delayed mentioning “Jesus” until trust was built.
    3. Rely on the Spirit’s Prompting:
      • “He will teach you what to say” (Luke 12:12).

    Biblical Parallel:

    • Paul in Athens (Acts 17:22-23): Used the “Unknown God” altar to introduce Christ.

    Action Step:
✔ Study your audience (e.g., their values, fears) to tailor your approach.

    3. The Foundation: God’s Presence and Power

    Jeremiah’s call reminds us:

    • God equips those He sends (Jeremiah 1:7-9).
    • Success depends on His Spirit, not our eloquence (1 Corinthians 2:4-5).

    Modern Application:

    • Social media evangelism: Let God guide your posts.
    • Workplace witness: Live Christ first, then speak (1 Peter 3:15-16).

    Warning:

    • Avoid deception (like Adeboye’s “Chief Emmanuel” tactic). Balance wisdom with truth.

    4. The Yoruba Proverb: Fear the Sender, Not the Receiver

The devotional cites a profound African wisdom:

    • “Fear the message-sender (God) more than the hearer.”
    • Biblical support: Matthew 10:28 – “Fear Him who can destroy soul and body in hell.”

    Implication:

    • Obedience > Outcomes. Our job is to share; results are God’s (1 Corinthians 3:6).

    Prayer:
“Lord, help me fear displeasing You more than man’s rejection.”

    5. The Call to Action: Share Without Delay

    Today’s devotional urges:

    1. New Believers: “Surrender to Jesus today.”
    2. Mature Believers: “Don’t withhold the gospel.”

    Motivation:

    • Eternity is at stake (Romans 10:14).
    • Angels rejoice over one conversion (Luke 15:10).

    Practical Tips:

    • Start with your testimony (Mark 5:19).
    • Use tracts or apps for shy believers.

Final Thought: Your Words Carry Divine Authority

Like Jeremiah, you’re appointed (Jeremiah 1:5) and anointed (v. 9) to speak for God.

“The same Spirit who empowered Peter at Pentecost lives in you!”

    Prayer of Commission:
“Father, clothe me with boldness today. Lead me to one soul needing Your love, and give me the words to win them, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

“Souls are waiting for your courage. Speak and watch God work!”

Open Heaven Devotional 28 March 2025: KING FOREVER

Today’s Open Heaven devotional (28 March 2025) is KING FOREVER

The daily devotion guide is written by Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Open Heaven Devotional 28 March 2025: KING FOREVER

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 28 MARCH 2025 DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: KING FOREVER

    MEMORISE
The Lord is Kina for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
    Psalm 10:16

    READ: Psalm 29:10-11
10 The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth King for ever.
11 The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 28 MARCH 2025 MESSAGE

God wasn’t enthroned; therefore, nobody can dethrone Him. The devil once tried, but he was kicked out from Heaven (Revelation 12:9). God is King, and He is King forever.

When I say that God is king, I mean that He is King over all earthly kings. No matter how powerful a king is and no matter how much he has achieved, God is greater than him. In Daniel 4:1-37, Nebuchadnezzar thought that he could take the glory that belonged to God. God made him eat grass for seven years, and when he came back to his senses, he said, “God is the Almighty.”

If you are a king in your own right, whether in your organisation, family, state, or wherever, your reign is only temporary. You should submit to the One who is King forever if you want to have a good and memorable reign. David submitted to God. and uo until today. Israel still recognises him as their greatest king ever.

Many years ago, I was invited to dedicate the RCCG national headquarters in a particular country, and I gave the church leaders a date in my calendar. In that country, government permits are required before hosting dedication ceremonies, so the church applied for a permit.

However, a man in the government was determined to stop the dedication. He said. “I have heard about this church. You plan to convert everyone and build churches everywhere; that will not work here.” The church leaders called me to report the situation, and to be honest, l didn’t even pray about it.

The day the man was to attend a meeting to conclude that the dedication wouldn’t be allowed to take place, he accidentally put both of his legs into the same trouser hole as he was dressing up. He struggled to free his legs until he fell and was rushed to the hospital. He eventually died with both of his legs still in the same trouser hole.

Nobody possesses greater power than God; when me decides to do something, Its better to cooperate with Him because He cannot be stopped.

Jesus is King forever, and all power belongs to Him. All souls are His (Ezekiel 18:4), including yours, and He wants you to surrender what belongs to Him. You belong to the King, and it is a blessed thing to belong to Him because you will automatically have access to all that He has.

    KEY POINT

There is only one King who reigns forever: King Jesus.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    1 Samuel 19-21

HYMN 18: PRAISE TO THE LORD THE ALMIGHTY

OPEN HEAVEN 28 MARCH 2025 COMMENTARY

    1. The Unshakable Throne of God

Open Heaven devotional for today begins by declaring God’s eternal, uncontested kingship:

    • No one can dethrone Him (Revelation 12:9 – Satan’s failed rebellion).
    • Earthly kings rise and fall, but His reign is perpetual (Daniel 4:34-35).

    Key Insight:

    • Human authority is derived and temporary (John 19:11 – Pilate’s power was “given from above”).
    • Nebuchadnezzar’s humbling (Daniel 4:30-33) proves: “Pride precedes a fall” (Proverbs 16:18).

    Application:
✔ Leaders: Serve with humility—you’re a steward, not a sovereign.
✔ Believers: Trust God’s supremacy over oppressive systems.

    2. The Futility of Resisting God’s Will

Today’s devotional shares a striking testimony:

    • A government official opposed a church dedication → Died tragically mid-resistance.
    • Principle: “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31).

    Biblical Parallels:

    • Pharaoh (Exodus 5-14): His defiance led to Egypt’s ruin.
    • Herod (Acts 12:21-23): Struck dead for accepting worship.

    Warning:

    • Opposing God’s work invites judgment (Matthew 12:30 – “Whoever is not with Me is against Me”).
    • Cooperation with God brings blessing (Acts 5:38-39 – Gamaliel’s counsel).

    Prayer:
“Lord, reveal areas where I resist Your will. Align me with Your purposes, in Jesus’ name.”

    3. The Privilege of Belonging to the King

The devotional shifts to a tender truth:

    • “All souls are His” (Ezekiel 18:4) → You are God’s treasured possession (Deuteronomy 7:6).
    • Surrender grants access to His resources (Romans 8:17 – “Heirs of God”).

    Key Implications:

    1. Identity: You’re a royal subject (1 Peter 2:9) under divine protection.
    2. Provision: The King supplies needs (Philippians 4:19).
    3. Authority: Delegated power to advance His kingdom (Matthew 28:18-20).

    Action Step:
✔ Daily declare: “I belong to the King of kings—His plans for me are good!”

    4. David’s Model: Submission to the True King

    David’s legacy (Acts 13:22) teaches:

    • Success comes from acknowledging God’s supremacy (Psalm 20:7).
    • Earthly reign flourishes under heavenly authority (2 Samuel 5:12).

    Modern Application:

    • Parents: Lead your home under God’s lordship.
    • Workers: Serve your employer as unto Christ (Colossians 3:23).

    5. The Call to Total Surrender

The devotional for today closes with an invitation:

    • “You belong to the King”. Yield fully to His rule.
    • Promise: “Access to all He has” (1 Corinthians 3:21-23).

    Altar Call:
“Lord, I surrender every area of my life – my will, relationships, and ambitions – to Your kingship. Reign in me forever!”

Final Thought: The Blessedness of Divine Citizenship

In a world of temporary powers, you’re enrolled in an unshakable kingdom (Hebrews 12:28).

“The government official’s tragic end warns us: No one thwarts God’s plans. His church will prevail!”

    Prayer of Alignment:
“Eternal King, dethrone every idol in my heart. Rule me completely, that my life may display Your glory. Amen.”

“Your highest safety and success lie in bowing to the One who cannot be overthrown!”
