TOPIC: SOUL REBIRTH

After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

RCCG OPEN HEAVENS 20 NOVEMBER 2026 TODAY MESSAGE
The word ‘rebirth’ is a combination of the prefix ‘re’ and the word ‘birth.’ ‘Re’ means again; therefore, the word ‘rebirth’ means to give birth to again. Thus, when we talk about rebirth, we are referring to someone who was born and now wants to be born again to have a new life. The question is, can it be done? Luke 1:37 clearly says that with God, nothing is impossible. For example, in Ezekiel 37:1-10, dry bones came back to life. In today’s devotional, however, I am not referring to the rebirth of a physical body; rather, I am talking about the rebirth of a soul.
All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23); hence, everyone, including children, needs to turn to Jesus to experience a new life. You may think children are innocent, but they have to be introduced early to Jesus; otherwise, as they grow, they will begin to take pleasure in sin. After a while, the innocence they once had as children will start to fade away.
If you have no connection with God, the One who gave you a soul, you will begin to feel empty on the inside; that is the death of the soul (Ezekiel 18:20). It is in the bid to fill that emptiness that many people turn to drugs, alcohol, and the like (Proverbs 31:6-7). Still, no matter how much of those substances they take, they usually feel even emptier. What such people really need is to be born again by the Spirit (John 3:6). Joy and peace will return into their hearts, and their lives will become meaningful.
Beloved, if you feel empty on the inside, it is a sign that you need to reconnect with God. Say this prayer right now so you can experience a rebirth of your soul: Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God and that You died for my sins. Please forgive all my sins. I confess them and promise never to return to them. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour.
If you just said the prayer above, you are now born again. However, you must ensure that you are continuously being fed and nurtured with the word of God. Therefore, find a Bible-believing church near you – I am sure you will find a RCCG parish nearby – and begin to fellowship with them so you can continue to grow in your Christian faith.

There is a longing in every human heart that nothing in this world can satisfy. We try to fill it with success, relationships, entertainment, and even substances, but the emptiness remains. Today’s devotional, “Soul Rebirth,” speaks directly to that longing. Daddy explains that this emptiness is the death of the soul, and the only cure is to be born again by the Spirit of God. Using the story of the man at the pool of Bethesda, he shows us that Jesus can give new life to anyone, no matter how long they have been bound. Let’s examine what the Word says about the rebirth of the soul.
With God, Nothing Is Impossible
The first lesson is that with God, nothing is impossible. Daddy breaks down the word “rebirth” — “re” means again, so rebirth means to give birth again. Can someone who was born be born again to have a new life? Luke 1:37 says, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” In Ezekiel 37:1-10, dry bones came back to life. In today’s Bible reading, a man who had been sick for thirty-eight years was made whole by a single word from Jesus. In everyday life, this means that no situation is beyond God’s reach. The addiction that has held you for years, the bitterness that has hardened your heart, the emptiness that has become your normal — none of it is too much for God. The man at Bethesda had no one to help him, and he had been waiting for thirty-eight years. He had probably given up hope. But Jesus saw him, asked him a simple question — “Wilt thou be made whole?” — and changed his life forever. Your past does not disqualify you from a new beginning. With God, nothing is impossible.
Introduce Your Children to Jesus Early
The second lesson is that you must introduce your children to Jesus early. Daddy says, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; hence, everyone, including children, needs to turn to Jesus to experience a new life. You may think children are innocent, but they have to be introduced early to Jesus; otherwise, as they grow, they will begin to take pleasure in sin. After a while, the innocence they once had as children will start to fade away.” In everyday life, this means that we cannot afford to wait until our children are older to teach them about Jesus. The world is already teaching them — through media, peers, and culture. If we don’t introduce them to Jesus early, they will be shaped by something else. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Bring your children to church. Pray with them. Read the Bible with them. Teach them that Jesus loves them. The earlier they encounter Him, the stronger their foundation will be for the challenges ahead.
If You Feel Empty, It Is a Sign to Reconnect with God
The third lesson is that if you feel empty, it is a sign to reconnect with God. Daddy says, “If you have no connection with God, the One who gave you a soul, you will begin to feel empty on the inside; that is the death of the soul.” It is in the bid to fill that emptiness that many people turn to drugs, alcohol, and the like. Still, no matter how much of those substances they take, they usually feel even emptier. What such people really need is to be born again by the Spirit. In everyday life, this means that the emptiness you feel is not a curse — it is a signal. It is your soul telling you that something is missing. And that something is not a thing — it is a Someone. John 3:6 says, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” When you reconnect with God through Jesus, joy and peace return to your heart, and your life becomes meaningful. Don’t ignore the emptiness. Let it lead you back to the One who gave you your soul.
New Life Is One Prayer Away
What a beautiful and urgent word from Daddy. With God, nothing is impossible. Introduce your children to Jesus early. And if you feel empty, let that emptiness lead you back to God. The prayer of salvation is the doorway to a new life. If you said that prayer today, heaven is rejoicing over you. But this message is not just for the unsaved — it is for every believer who has drifted, every parent who has delayed, and every soul that feels dry. New life is one prayer away. Reconnection is one surrender away. God is ready to give you a new heart and a new spirit, just as Ezekiel 18:31 says. Come to Him today, and live.
Action Steps
- Reconnect with God if you feel empty. Take time today to examine your heart. If you sense emptiness or distance from God, confess it, repent, and ask Him to renew your spirit and restore your joy.
- Introduce your children to Jesus deliberately. If you have children, start a simple routine of family prayer or Bible reading this week. Talk to them about Jesus and help them understand His love for them.
- Find a Bible-believing church. If you have just given your life to Christ or if you have drifted away, commit to finding a Bible-believing church where you can be fed and nurtured in the Word of God.
Prayer Points
- Father, I thank You for the gift of new life through Jesus Christ. Thank You for making a way for my soul to be reborn and for Your Spirit that gives me joy and peace.
- Lord, I believe that with You nothing is impossible. Touch every impossible situation in my life and bring new life where there seems to be no hope, in Jesus’ name.
- Father, if I feel empty inside, please fill me with Your Spirit. Reconnect me to You and restore the joy of my salvation, in Jesus’ name.
- Lord, I introduce my children to You. Draw them to Yourself, and let them encounter You early in their lives, in Jesus’ name.
- Father, let my home be a place where Your Word is taught and lived. Help me to disciple my children in the ways of the Lord, in Jesus’ name.
- Lord, I pray for those who are bound by drugs and alcohol. Let them experience the emptiness that leads them to You, and let them be born again by Your Spirit, in Jesus’ name.
- Father, let my soul continually be fed and nurtured by Your Word. Help me to grow in my Christian faith and remain connected to You all the days of my life, in Jesus’ name.
