    TOPIC: VICTORY IN HIS NAME

    MEMORISE:
    The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
    Psalms 20:1

    READ: Psalms 118:6-12:
6 The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
7 The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.
8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

10 All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.
11 They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.
12 They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 29 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

A person’s future can be influenced by his or her name. For example, Moses was so named in Exodus 2:10 because he was drawn out of water. Throughout his lifetime, he continually had encounters with water. God used him to perform several miracles with water, including: changing water to blood (Exodus 7:20), parting the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21), turning bitter water to sweet water (Exodus 15), and bringing water out of the rock (Exodus 17).

Names are important; this is why God had to change the names of some people in the Bible so that their destinies could be fulfilled. My mother told me that on her way to see a priest concerning my baptismal name, the name she had in mind was Elisha. However, by the time she got to the priest, she had forgotten the name, so she told him that she would name me Enoch. When she shared this story with me, I told her that I would keep the two names – Elisha, who had a double portion of the anointing, and Enoch, the man who walked with God.

The names people are called are important to their destinies, but there is a name that is greater than all names, and that name is JESUS.

In Philippians 2:9-11, the Bible says,
    “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

In Psalm 118:10-13, David revealed the secret to his victory. He said that when the nations compassed him about, he destroyed them in the name of the Lord. He understood the power in the name of the Lord.

Beloved, is there anything troubling you as a child of God? Does it have a name? If it does, I congratulate you because you have just defeated it. As long as it has a name, there is a name above it. Even if doctors can’t find a name for anything that might be troubling you medically and they say that all they can see from their diagnosis is ‘nothing’, that is still a name, and when you trust in the name of the Lord, you will always be victorious. Call on the name of the Lord today, and He will give you victory over anything that is troubling you.

    REFLECTION

Do you have absolute trust in the name of Jesus?

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Luke 19-20

HYMN 1: ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 29 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Psalm 20:1
“The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee.”
This is both a prayer and a proclamation. It invokes the covenant-keeping God (the God of Jacob) to actively defend and protect His children through the power inherent in His name when they call upon Him in their day of trouble.

    BIBLE READING: Psalms 118:6-12
This passage is a powerful declaration of victory through the name of the Lord:
    v. 6: “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?”
    v. 10-12: “All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them… They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.”
The name of the Lord is the believer’s weapon of total victory against overwhelming odds.

The Supremacy of the Name of Jesus

Pastor E.A. Adeboye teaches on the profound power of names, using biblical examples to build a crescendo of faith around the most powerful name in existence: the name of Jesus. While earthly names can influence destiny, the name of Jesus has the ultimate authority to define, command, and transform every situation.

    The Power of a Name

    • Prophetic Destiny: Names often carry prophetic significance, shaping a person’s life and calling, as seen with Moses (“drawn out”) and the renaming of Abram (father) to Abraham (father of many nations).
    • Spiritual Identity: The names Elisha (God is salvation) and Enoch (dedicated, walked with God) represent a double portion anointing and intimate fellowship, a heritage Daddy Adeboye gratefully acknowledges.

The Name That is Above Every Name

While human names have influence, the name of Jesus exists in a category of its own:

    • It is Highly Exalted (Philippians 2:9): God the Father has bestowed upon the name of Jesus the highest rank, dignity, and authority in the universe.
    • It Commands Universal Submission (Philippians 2:10): Every being—in heaven, on earth, and under the earth (demonic forces)—must bow at its utterance. No authority, natural or supernatural, is exempt.
    • It Secures Universal Confession (Philippians 2:11): Every tongue will be forced to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord. This name settles every argument and ends every debate.

The Practical Victory in the Name

The name of Jesus is not a theological concept; it is a practical weapon for daily victory.

    1. It is Your Defense (Psalm 20:1):
When trouble comes, the name of the God of Jacob is your shield and defender. It is a spiritual fortress.

    2. It is Your Offensive Weapon (Psalm 118:10-12):
Like David, you can “destroy” encircling enemies—sickness, lack, fear, oppression—in the name of the Lord. The name is a weapon of total annihilation against every adversarial force.

    3. It is Your Answer to Every Named Trouble:
The devotional presents a profound truth: “As long as it has a name, there is a name above it.”

    • Sickness has a name → Jesus is above it.
    • Poverty has a name → Jesus is above it.
    • Depression has a name → Jesus is above it.
    • Even a diagnosis of ‘nothing’ has a name → Jesus is above it.

How to Activate the Power of the Name

    1. Call Upon the Name:
In your day of trouble, consciously and audibly call upon the name of Jesus. Speak it in prayer. There is power in the vocalized confession of His name (Romans 10:13).

    2. Command in the Name:
Follow the biblical model. Do not just plead with God; command the situation to change in the mighty name of Jesus. Address the mountain of sickness or debt and command it to be removed (Mark 11:23).

    3. Live in the Authority of the Name:
Understand that as a believer, you have been given the legal right to use this name (Mark 16:17-18). Walk in the confidence that every knee must bow to the name you carry.

    Conclusion: Your Ultimate Weapon

    Pray this:
“Lord Jesus, I thank You for the power in Your name. I proclaim today that Your name is above every name—above every sickness, every fear, every lack, and every attack in my life. I call upon Your name now for deliverance and victory over [name your specific situation]. I command every opposing force to bow now in the mighty name of Jesus. I declare that I am more than a conqueror through You. Thank You for the victory. Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Name Your Trouble: Clearly identify what you are facing. Write it down.
    2. Find a Scripture: Locate a Bible promise that contradicts that trouble.
    3. Pray and Command: Pray, using the name of Jesus to plead your defense and command the situation to change.
    4. Thank Him: Begin to thank God for the victory as if it has already been accomplished.

Remember: You are not fighting for victory; you are fighting from victory. The battle was won at the cross. Your role is to enforce that victory through the powerful name of Jesus.

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…” (Philippians 2:10). Use the name today.

    TOPIC: SHINE THE LIGHT

    MEMORISE:
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
    Matthew 5:15

    READ: Matthew 18:23-35:
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, andchildren, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, andI will pay thee all.

27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave theeall that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was dueunto him.
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 28 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Every true child of God is a shining light. You are the light of the world, and Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Light has one clear duty: shining. This means that anything that stops light from shining is its enemy. As a child of God, anything that stops you from shining is your enemy, and you must deal with it.

Anything that allows darkness to gain the upper hand over light in a believer’s life is an enemy. In today’s memory verse, Jesus identified an object that can keep our light from shining and allow darkness to rule over light – a bushel. A bushel is typically a wooden bucket that was used for measuring dry goods such as peas or grains in the past. If someone lights a lamp in a dark room and puts it under a bushel, it will be impossible to tell that there is light anywhere in that room.

One of the most dangerous bushels that has hidden the light of many believers is unforgiveness. The dangerous thing about unforgiveness is that it comes as just one bushel, but it multiplies itself into many other bushels that cover a believer’s light and keep it from shining. Unforgiveness always comes with bitterness, grudges, anger, and resentment. When someone offends you and you decide not to forgive the person, before long, you will find yourself resenting the person and refusing to speak amicably with him or her. Unforgiveness also hinders prayers from getting answered.

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:25-26

Beloved, don’t toy with unforgiveness; it hides a person’s light and plunges the unforgiving person into darkness. When Jesus told the parable of the unforgiving servant in today’s Bible reading, He revealed the end of those who do not forgive – they are handed over to tormentors.

Have you been hiding your light under the bushel of unforgiveness? It is time to kick it away and let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16). I pray that God will be glorified through your words and actions, in Jesus’ name.

    KEY POINT

Unforgiveness is dangerous; don’t let it dim your light.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Luke 16-18

HYMN 59: I WANT TO BE LIKE JESUS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 28 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Matthew 5:15
“Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.”
This verse illustrates the intended purpose of light: to shine forth and dispel darkness. A hidden light is a contradiction to its very nature. The believer, as Christ’s light, must be positioned to illuminate, not concealed.

    BIBLE READING: Matthew 18:23-35
This parable is Jesus’s definitive teaching on the necessity of forgiveness:
    v. 32-33: The Accusation: “I forgave thee all that debt… Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?”
    v. 34: The Consequence: Unforgiveness leads to being “delivered to the tormentors.”
    v. 35: The Application: “So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.”

    The Bushel of Unforgiveness

Pastor E.A. Adeboye delivers a critical message on one of the most subtle yet destructive hindrances to a believer’s testimony: unforgiveness. He identifies it as a primary “bushel” that smothers the light of Christ in a believer, plunging them into spiritual ineffectiveness and personal torment.

The Believer’s Identity: Light of the World

Every true child of God is ordained to be a shining light (Matthew 5:14-16). This light is meant to:

    • Reveal Truth: Expose the darkness of sin and error.
    • Guide the Lost: Provide direction to those seeking God.
    • Glorify the Father: Our good works, illuminated by this light, point people to God.

Unforgiveness: The Bushel That Hides the Light

A bushel is a container that smothers and hides light. Unforgiveness is such a bushel because:

    1. It is a Multiplier of Darkness: Unforgiveness is rarely a standalone sin. It quickly multiplies into bitterness, resentment, anger, and grudges (Hebrews 12:15). One offense, left unforgiven, can generate an entire array of “bushels” that completely quench your light.
    2. It Hinders Prayer: Unforgiveness creates a spiritual barrier between you and God. Mark 11:25-26 is unequivocal: an unforgiving heart ensures that our own prayers for forgiveness remain unanswered. A closed heart towards others results in a closed heaven from God.
    3. It Invites Torment: The parable in Matthew 18 concludes that the unforgiving servant was handed over to the “tormentors.” Unforgiveness is a self-imposed prison of emotional and spiritual anguish—it tortures the one who refuses to forgive far more than it affects the offender.
    4. It Contradicts the Gospel: The core of the gospel is that we have been forgiven an unpayable debt by God through Christ. To refuse to forgive a relatively minor offense from a fellow human is a gross contradiction of the grace we have received (Ephesians 4:32).

How to Remove the Bushel and Let Your Light Shine

    1. Make the Decision to Forgive:
Forgiveness is not a feeling; it is a choice—a crisis of the will. Choose to release the offender from the debt they owe you, just as Christ did for you.

    2. Forgive from the Heart (Matthew 18:35):
This moves beyond a verbal statement to a genuine release in your inner being. It is a process that often requires prayer, asking God to heal the hurt and change your heart.

    3. Remember the Cross:
Continuously reflect on the immense forgiveness you have received in Christ. This makes it impossible to hold a grudge against someone else (Colossians 3:13).

    4. Pray for the Offender:
Jesus commands us to pray for those who despitefully use us (Matthew 5:44). This is a practical step that softens the heart and dismantles bitterness.

Conclusion: Step Out of Torment into Light

    Pray this:
“Heavenly Father, I confess the sin of unforgiveness. I have hidden my light under the bushel of bitterness and resentment against [name the person(s)]. Right now, by an act of my will, I choose to forgive them completely, releasing them from the debt I feel they owe me. I ask You to heal my wounded heart and remove all torment from my soul. Let the light of Your love and forgiveness shine through me once again, so that my life may glorify You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Identify the Bushel: Who have you not truly forgiven? Write down their name(s).
    2. Make the Choice: Verbally declare your forgiveness to God, stating: “I forgive [name] for [offense].”
    3. Break the Torment: Renounce every spirit of torment, bitterness, and anger associated with that offense.
    4. Re-ignite Your Light: Perform a specific act of kindness or pray a blessing for the person you have forgiven.

Remember: Your light is desperately needed in a dark world. Do not allow the enemy to smother it with the bushel of unforgiveness. Your freedom and your effectiveness in God’s kingdom depend on your obedience to forgive.

“…Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16). Remove the bushel and shine.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 27 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In my early years of being the General Overseer of RCCG, my wife came to me during one of our annual conventions and said, “To feed the people today, we need an extra 5,000 naira.” I asked her, “Darling, when do you need the money? Today or now?” She asked,

“What’s the difference?” I then told her that there is a lot of difference between today and now. She then replied, “We need the money today.” I told her, “In that case, you can go.

When I have the money, I will give it to you.” At the time she came, I didn’t have any money with me, but I knew that there is a God in heaven who is my hiding place. I can always run to Him when there is trouble.

When my wife left, I turned to my Lord, “The people have come. They are Your people, and You can’t allow them to starve.” Not long after, a man who was not a member of the church drove into the Redemption Camp (now Redemption City) and came to see me. He was just passing by and saw a large crowd coming into the camp. He was curious, so he asked,

“What is going on here?” I told him we were having our annual convention. He replied,

“Beautiful! Next year, I will be part of it.” He then put his hand in his pocket, brought out an envelope, and said, “In the meantime, let me support the church with this token.” I prayed for him, and he left. When I opened the envelope, I saw that it contained 1,000 naira. I said to myself, “Thank God. We have 1,000 naira down and 4,000 naira to go.” Shortly after, the leaders of the youths in the church came to me in the office and gave me an envelope. I prayed for them, and they left. I opened the envelope, and it contained 2,000 naira. Not long after, I sent for my wife and gave her the 5,000 naira she had earlier requested because God miraculously provided another 2,000 naira.

In Psalm 61, the Psalmist cried that God should lead him to a rock higher than him. God’s word is the rock that hides us from trouble and shame. Beloved, you can never be stranded when you put your hope in God’s word. When you put your total trust in His word, He will hide you in His secret place and ensure you are never put to shame.

    KEY POINT

Father, please hide me in Your secret place. Let me not be put to shame, in Jesus’ name.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Luke 13-15

HYMN 19: ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 27 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Psalm 119:114
“Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.”
This verse presents a powerful twofold assurance: God is both a hiding place (a secret refuge of safety) and a shield (an active defender in battle). The key to accessing both is placing our hope not in circumstances, but in the unwavering truth of His Word.

    BIBLE READING: Psalms 32:6-7
This passage describes the security of those who trust in the Lord:
    v. 6: “For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.”
    v. 7: “Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.”
God’s protection is both a place of retreat and a surrounding force of deliverance.

    The Secret Place of Provision

Pastor E.A. Adeboye shares a profound personal testimony that illustrates a critical kingdom principle: God is a very present help and a reliable hiding place in times of need. The story demonstrates that financial or material lack is not a problem for God; it is an opportunity for Him to reveal Himself as Jehovah Jireh, the Provider.

The Theology of the Hiding Place

    • A Place of Safety: A hiding place is a location of concealment from threat or danger. In God, we are hidden from the shame of lack, the anxiety of uncertainty, and the attacks of the enemy (Colossians 3:3).
    • A Place of Supply: As the testimony shows, God’s hiding place is not just about protection fromsomething, but provision in the midst of something. It is the place where needs are met supernaturally.
    • Accessed by Hope in His Word: Our entry into this hiding place is through faith in God’s promises. We must believe that what He has said in His Word about His provision (e.g., Philippians 4:19) is true for our specific situation.

    Key Lessons from the Testimony

    1. Distinguish Between ‘Today’ and ‘Now’:
Daddy Adeboye’s question highlights the difference between a deadline and a panic. Faith gives God room to work within His own timetable (“today”) without succumbing to the pressure of immediate desperation (“now”).
    2. The Burden Belongs to the Lord:
The powerful prayer, “The people have come. They are Your people…” reflects a core understanding: God is responsible for His work. When we are doing His will, His resources are available for His assignments.
    3. Provision Often Comes Through Unlikely Sources:
God used a curious stranger and youth leaders—not a planned offering—to meet the need. He is not limited to conventional methods and often provides in unexpected ways to increase our faith.
    4. The Principle of Progressive Provision:
God provided the N5,000 in separate installments (N1,000 + N2,000 + N2,000). This teaches us to thank Him for what He provides when He provides it, trusting that He will complete the work.

How to Run to Your Hiding Place

    1. Identify the Need:
Clearly define what you need, as Sister Foluke Adeboye did. Take it to the Lord in prayer.

    2. Transfer the Burden:
Verbally release the problem to God. Remind Him (and yourself) that it is His work and His responsibility. Cast your care upon Him (1 Peter 5:7).

    3. Stand on His Word:
Anchor your hope in specific promises from Scripture regarding God’s provision and protection (e.g., Psalm 23:1, Matthew 6:33).

    4. Watch with Expectation:
Be expectant and attentive to how God might move. His solutions will often be creative and timely.

    5. Give Thanks for Every Step:
Acknowledge and thank God for every sign of His provision, no matter how small it may seem. This builds faith for the complete answer.

    Conclusion: You Are Never Stranded

    Pray this:
“My Father and my Hiding Place, I thank You that You are my refuge and my shield. Today, I bring my need for [mention your specific need] before You. I release the burden and the timing into Your hands. I place my hope in Your Word that promises to supply all my needs according to Your riches in glory. I hide myself in You now, trusting that You will preserve me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Thank You for being my provider. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Scripture Meditation: Memorize and meditate on Psalm 119:114 and Psalm 32:7.
    2. Need List: Write down a specific need and a corresponding Bible promise. Pray over it daily.
    3. Thanksgiving Journal: Start a journal to record every instance of God’s provision, big or small.
    4. Testify: Share your testimony of God’s provision with someone to strengthen their faith.

Remember: When you are in God’s hiding place, the “floods of great waters” of lack and trouble cannot come near you. Your part is to hope in His Word; His part is to be your hiding place.

“Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.” (Psalm 119:114). Run to your hiding place today.

TOPIC: THE LORD IS MY VERY PRESENT HELP

    MEMORISE:
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
    Psalms 46:1

    READ: Psalms 46:1-11:
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
    2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 26 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Today’s memory verse emphasises the fact that God is our very present help in times of trouble. He is the God of the past, but He is also the God of the present. He can fix anything that is affecting your present as a result of mistakes you made in the past.

One of my students while I was still a lecturer at the University of Lagos, came to me some years ago. He had a problem – he was always sweating, and his sweat smelled terribly.

Nobody could sit close to him because of how bad he smelled. Different doctors had prescribed different soaps and medications to him, but the problem persisted. I was about to pray for him when God said, “No, don’t pray; he needs to make a restitution.” I told him what God said, and He made the required restitution. After the restitution, he returned to me so l could pray for him, but God said,

“There is no need; just tell him not to drink cold water for two weeks.” That was the end of the problem. Medical doctors could never have resolved this problem, but the One who is the Very Present Help went to his past, turned the situation around, and gave him a testimony.

When we say that God is very present, it means that there is nothing happening in the present that He is not aware of. It also means that He knows the best way to handle situations in the present. God’s help is always very present to those who have surrendered their lives to Him.

Isaiah 65:24 says, “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”

This means that even before you discover that you need help, the Very Present Help has gone ahead of you to provide solutions. I pray that you will experience more of God’s accurate and prepared help from now henceforth, in Jesus’ name.

I must, however, add that if you have not totally surrendered your life to Jesus, you cannot access His very present help. Do not be like people who boast of a past relationship with God and expect Him to help them in the present. If you are riding on past glory, it is time to renew your commitment to God. When you do this, you will then begin to enjoy His very present help.

    KEY POINT

God is the very present help to those who regard Him as their Lord in the present.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Luke 11-12

HYMN 27: WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 26 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Psalm 46:1
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
This verse reveals God’s nature in times of crisis. He is not a distant helper but a very present one—immediately available, intimately acquainted with our situation, and perfectly capable of being our safe place (refuge) and our empowering force (strength) right when we need it most.

    BIBLE READING: Psalms 46:1-11
This psalm is a powerful declaration of God’s ever-present sovereignty:
    v. 1: The Promise: He is a very present help.
    v. 2-3: The Scenario: Even if the entire world is in chaos, we will not fear.
    v. 7, 11: The Assurance: “The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.”
    v. 10: The Command: “Be still, and know that I am God…” His presence demands our trust.

The God of the Very Present Help

Pastor E.A. Adeboye uses a striking testimony to illustrate a profound truth: God’s help is not only powerful but also precise and present. He is the God of the now, capable of diagnosing and solving problems at their root, even when they are entangled with issues from the past.

The Nature of God’s “Very Present” Help

    • It is Accurate: God’s help goes straight to the root cause. While doctors treated the symptom (the smell), God addressed the root: a heart issue requiring restitution. His solutions are often unexpected but always perfectly accurate.
    • It is Proactive: God’s help is so present that it often arrives before we even utter the full prayer (Isaiah 65:24). He is already working behind the scenes, orchestrating solutions before we are fully aware of the depth of our need.
    • It is Comprehensive: It covers every kind of trouble—physical, emotional, spiritual, or financial. Whether it’s a national crisis (“though the earth be removed” v.2) or a personal, embarrassing struggle, He is an ever-present refuge.

The Condition for Accessing This Help

This level of help is not automatic. It is reserved for those who have a right relationship with God in the present.

    1. Total Surrender to Jesus Christ:
You cannot access the help of a Lord you do not serve. Salvation is the entry point to this covenant of help.
    2. A Life of Obedience and Integrity:
The testimony highlights that God required restitution before healing. Unconfessed sin and unresolved disobedience can block our access to God’s present help (Isaiah 59:1-2). A clear conscience is a conduit for His power.
    3. A Present Relationship, Not Past Glory:
Resting on a past experience with God is insufficient. God is the “I AM,” not the “I WAS.” He requires a current, vibrant, and obedient relationship. We must daily choose to make Him our Lord.

The Result of His Help: A Fearless Life

When you know God as your very present help:

    • You will not fear (v.2), no matter how chaotic the situation appears.
    • You can be still (v.10), ceasing your frantic striving because you know He is fighting for you.
    • You become a testimony of God’s power and wisdom, as He does things that medical, financial, or human expertise cannot achieve.

Conclusion: Your Help is Here Now

    Pray this:
“God, my Refuge and Strength, I acknowledge You as my very present help. I surrender every area of my life to You today. Forgive me for any sin or lack of restitution that hinders my access to Your help. I bring my current trouble [mention it specifically] before You. I trust in Your accurate and timely solution. I choose to be still and know that You are God. Thank You for being with me and for being my safe place. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Identify the Trouble: Clearly define the specific situation where you need God’s present help.
    2. Conduct a Heart Check: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any area of disobedience, unforgiveness, or need for restitution. Obey immediately.
    3. Claim the Promise: Memorize and declare Psalm 46:1 over your situation daily.
    4. Practice Stillness: Instead of worrying, deliberately enter into a time of quiet trust, affirming “The LORD of hosts is with me.”

Remember: Your help is not on the way; it is already here. God is very present in your situation. You are not alone. Your current trouble is a platform for His present help to be displayed.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1). He is with you right now.

OPEN HEAVEN 25 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: THE LORD IS MY DELIVERER

    MEMORISE:
But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
    Psalms 40:17

    READ: Mark 7:32-37:
32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
    33 And he took him aside* from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spakeplain.
    36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;
37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 25 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Luke 13:11-13 tells us of a woman who was bent for eighteen years and couldn’t walk uprightly. She must have visited many doctors and used different medications, all to no avail. However, when she encountered Jesus, she was set free immediately. There are some sicknesses that even the best doctors cannot treat. If you are experiencing any lingering sickness, you need just one touch from the Great Deliverer to make you whole.

When the devil afflicts a fellow with an infirmity, he adds a lot of sorrowful things to the person’s life. For example, besides suffering from leprosy, lepers also suffer isolation, which might lead to depression, especially if they are abandoned by their relatives and friends. If they had thriving businesses, the businesses might automatically shut down because some people might not want to do business with them.

In Luke 17:12-19, there were ten lepers who needed to be delivered from leprosy. When the Mighty Deliverer came on the scene, they were cleansed, and one of them, who returned to give thanks, was made whole. I believe this meant that he recovered everything he had lost in the past. This is what the Lord can do for you when He is your deliverer. He can restore everything the enemy might have stolen from you as if he never came near you at all. I pray that God will show Himself mighty on your behalf, deliver you from every affliction and oppression you might be experiencing, and make you whole, in Jesus’ name

We have a deliverer; He is called the Lord of Hosts (Psalm 24:10) and the Lord Mighty in Battle (Psalm 24:8). He can deliver anyone, and nobody can pluck His children from His hands.

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. Psalm 18:2-3

Beloved, if you haven’t surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, you are His enemy, and it is a fearful thing to fall into His hands (Hebrews 10:31) because no one can deliver anyone from Him (Isaiah 43:13). Surrender your life to Him today so He can become your Great Deliverer.

If you are already a child of God and are still in any form of bondage, I pray that the Great Deliverer will deliver you completely, in Jesus’ name.

    KEY POINT:

God can deliver anyone, and nobody can deliver out of His hands.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Luke 9-10

    HYMN 10: IN CHRIST ALONE

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 25 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Psalm 40:17
“But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.”
This is the cry of a humble heart that recognizes its own helplessness and places its entire expectation on God alone. It acknowledges God’s personal care (“the Lord thinketh upon me”) and His unique role as “my deliverer,” and it pleads for swift action.

    BIBLE READING: Mark 7:32-37
This passage exemplifies the power of the Great Deliverer:
    v. 32: The Problem: A man with a speech impediment and deafness—a double affliction.
    v. 33-35: The Process: Jesus took him aside, touched him, and spoke a word. “And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.”
    v. 37: The Proclamation: “He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.”

The Ministry of the Great Deliverer

Pastor E.A. Adeboye presents a powerful message of hope for those bound by affliction, oppression, and the lingering effects of the enemy’s attacks. Jesus Christ is not just a healer; He is the Mighty Deliverer who specializes in setting captives free and restoring all that has been lost.

The Nature of the Enemy’s Bondage

The devil’s afflictions are never singular; they are accompanied by a cascade of sorrows:

    • Physical Suffering: The primary illness or infirmity (e.g., leprosy, the bent back).
    • Social Isolation: Rejection, stigma, and abandonment by community and even family.
    • Economic Hardship: Loss of livelihood and financial stability, as businesses collapse.
    • Emotional Torment: Depression, shame, and hopelessness after years of failed solutions.

    The Limit of Human Help

The woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8:43) and the woman bent for 18 years (Luke 13:11-13) represent all who have “suffered many things of many physicians, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse” (Mark 5:26). Some situations are beyond human expertise and require divine intervention.

The Power of the Great Deliverer

    1. He Specializes in the Impossible:
There is no sickness, addiction, or bondage too chronic or complex for Him. The same power that created the universe is available to deliver you (Colossians 1:16-17).

    2. His Deliverance is Comprehensive:
He doesn’t just heal; He makes whole (Luke 17:19). This means:

    • Physical Healing: The affliction itself is removed.
    • Complete Restoration: Everything lost during the period of bondage—health, joy, relationships, finances, time—is recovered. “I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten” (Joel 2:25).

    3. He is a Mighty Warrior:
    His titles reveal His nature:

    • The Lord of Hosts (Psalm 24:10): The Commander of heaven’s armies fights for you.
    • The Lord Mighty in Battle (Psalm 24:8): He has never lost a fight against the enemy.
    • My Rock, Fortress, and Deliverer (Psalm 18:2): He is an unshakeable place of safety and rescue.

    How to Access His Deliverance

    1. Recognize Your Need and Cry Out:
Like the psalmist, acknowledge your poverty and need. Humility is the key that unlocks deliverance. The ten lepers cried out for mercy (Luke 17:13).

    2. Surrender to His Lordship:
This is the non-negotiable prerequisite. You cannot expect deliverance from a Lord you refuse to obey. Surrender makes you His child, not His enemy (Hebrews 10:31).

    3. Expect His Touch:
Jesus often touched the untouchable. Believe that His power can reach into your situation and transform it in an instant.

    4. Return to Give Thanks:
Like the one leper who returned, gratitude secures and amplifies your blessing, moving from cleansing to complete wholeness (Luke 17:15-19).

    Conclusion: Your Deliverance is Here

    Pray this:
“Mighty Deliverer, I come to You today poor and needy. I acknowledge that [name your specific bondage] is beyond human help. I surrender my life completely to Your Lordship. I cry out for Your mercy and deliverance. Touch me now, O Lord. Loose me from every chain and restore everything the enemy has stolen from me. I believe that You are doing it now, and I thank You in advance for my freedom and total restoration. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Identify the Bondage: Clearly name the area(s) where you need deliverance and restoration.
    2. Plead the Promise: Pray Psalm 40:17 and Psalm 18:2-3 over your situation daily.
    3. Act in Faith: Begin to thank God for your deliverance as if it has already happened.
    4. Share Your Testimony: When your breakthrough comes, tell others what the Great Deliverer has done for you.

Remember: No chain is too strong for the Mighty Deliverer. No loss is too great for Him to restore. Your case is not too hard for Him. Your season of freedom and wholeness begins now.

“The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust…”(Psalm 18:2). Put your trust in Him today.

    READ: Psalms 126:1-6:
1 When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.

4 Turn again our captivity*, O LORD, as the streams in the south.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 24 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

It is wonderful to know Jesus and trust in Him. Over the past few days, I have been discussing the benefits of having Jesus as your Lord.

Those who are still yet to totally surrender to His Lordship are depriving themselves of the tremendous blessings of being children of the Most High God.

People love good songs and love to sing new songs. When you make Jesus your Lord, He will not only give you a new song, He will become your song. He will not just fill your mouth with laughter, He will become your laughter and the source of your joy. After God brought the children of Israel out of Egypt and led them through the Red Sea, they began to sing a new song to the Lord:

The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him. Exodus 15:2

When God becomes your song, He will fill your mouth with joy and laughter. When He became Sarah’s song, He filled her mouth with laughter, and people laughed along with her (Genesis 21:6). I pray that everyone who has mocked you will laugh with you, in Jesus’ name.

When the devil thinks he has the upper hand or when he thinks he has done too much damage for things to ever become good in a Christian’s life again, such a Christian should know that God is about to become his or her song. When the devil attacked Job and his family, he thought he had the final say. However, God came through for Job and gave him double of all he had lost (Job 42:12).

When God becomes your song, He will fill your mouth with songs of victory. When He wanted to destroy the wall of Jericho, He put a loud shout of victory in the mouth of His people.

So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. Joshua 6:20

Beloved, God wants to become your song. He wants to continually give you new songs of joy and victory. Surrender your life completely to him, and your days will be full of laughter and singing.

    KEY POINT

When you surrender your life completely to Jesus, He will become your song.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Luke 7-8

HYMN 17: PRAISE MY SOUL THE KING OF HEAVEN

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 24 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Psalm 118:14
“The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.”
This powerful declaration reveals that God is not merely the giver of songs; He is the very substance and subject of the song itself. Our strength and our melody of triumph find their source exclusively in Him.

    BIBLE READING: Psalms 126:1-6
This psalm captures the transformative joy of God’s intervention:
    v. 1-2: The Turnaround: “When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion… then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing.”
    v. 3: The Testimony: “The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.”
    v. 5-6: The Promise: Those who sow in tears “shall reap in joy” and return with songs of triumph.

The Lord: Your Song of Joy and Victory

Pastor E.A. Adeboye culminates this series on the benefits of Lordship with one of the most beautiful promises: a life filled with divinely orchestrated joy and victory. For the one who is fully surrendered, God Himself becomes their perpetual song, turning every past mourning into dancing and every battle into a testimony.

    The Progression of God’s Song

    • From a New Song to God as Your Song: God does not just give you a temporary tune; He installs Himself as the eternal melody of your heart. The song may change with seasons, but the Source remains constant.
    • From Laughter to God as Your Laughter: The joy He gives is not superficial happiness dependent on circumstances; it is the deep, abiding joy of His presence (Nehemiah 8:10) that becomes your core identity.

Biblical Examples of God Becoming the Song

    1. The Song of Deliverance (Exodus 15:1-2):
After crossing the Red Sea, Israel didn’t just sing about God; they sang to God, declaring, “The LORD… is become my salvation.” Their song was the direct result of a finished work of deliverance.

    2. The Song of Miraculous Fulfillment (Genesis 21:6):
For decades, Sarah’s life was a song of barrenness and despair. When God became her song, He filled her mouth with incredulous laughter—a laughter so contagious that others “laughed with her.” God turned her shame into celebration.

    3. The Song of Restoration (Job 42:10-12):
The devil intended Job’s story to be a funeral dirge. God rewrote the score and turned it into a symphony of double restoration. The latter end of his life became a greater song than the beginning.

    4. The Song of Victory (Joshua 6:20):
The walls of Jericho fell not by military strategy but by a “great shout”—a song of faith and victory shouted in advance of the visible breakthrough. Their obedience to God’s strange command turned their shout into a weapon.

How to Experience God as Your Song

    1. Complete Surrender:
This blessing is reserved for those who have totally surrendered to His Lordship. You cannot sing the song of triumph while still commanding your own life.

    2. Recognize Your Captivity Turning:
Like the psalmist in Psalm 126, be sensitive to the moments when God begins to turn your situation around. This awareness fuels gratitude and praise.

    3. Sow in Tears with Faith:
Understand the principle of Psalm 126:5. Your present tears of prayer, intercession, and obedience are seeds you are sowing. Water them with faith and worship, knowing you will reap a harvest of joy.

    4. Shout in Advance:
Like the Israelites at Jericho, learn to praise God for the victory before you see it manifested. This shout of faith is the catalyst that brings down imposing barriers.

The Result: A Life of Celebrated Testimony

    When God becomes your song:

    • Your testimony becomes “The LORD hath done great things for us!” (Psalm 126:3).
    • Your life becomes a magnet for joy, attracting others to share in your celebration.
    • Your mouth is permanently filled with laughter and singing, disarming worry and fear.

    Conclusion: Let Your Life Sing

    Pray this:
“Lord Jesus, I surrender every area of my life to You anew. Become my song and my laughter. Turn every captivity in my life into a testimony of joy. Fill my mouth with singing and my heart with triumph. I choose to shout a praise of victory over every ‘Jericho’ in my path, trusting that You will bring down every wall. Let my life be a continuous song that glorifies You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Identify a ‘Captivity’: Name an area of struggle, shame, or defeat in your life. Begin to thank God for turning it around.
    2. Create a Playlist: Make a playlist of songs that declare God’s victory and faithfulness. Play it daily to fill your atmosphere with faith.
    3. Praise in the Storm: The next time you face a challenge, instead of complaining, choose to sing and praise God for His coming victory.
    4. Share Your Song: Testify of God’s goodness to others. Your story can become the new song someone else needs to hear.

Remember: Your life is meant to be a symphony, not a funeral dirge. The Master Composer is ready to write His song of joy and victory over every page of your story if you will let Him.

“The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.” (Psalm 118:14). Let this be your song today and always.

TOPIC: THE LORD IS MY KEEPER

    MEMORISE:
My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have l done no hurt.
    Daniel 6:22

    READ: Psalms 121:1-8:
1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 23 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

When you make Jesus your Lord, you will enjoy divine preservation. Today’s Bible reading says that He who keeps Israel neither sleeps nor slumbers. When God keeps a fellow, nothing and nobody can harm him or her (Romans 8:31).

Years ago, one of my daughters was serving the Nigerian government in Port Harcourt, a state capital in Southern Nigeria, as part of the mandatory national youth service programme for graduates of tertiary institutions. At that time, a new highway had just been constructed along the route leading to Port Harcourt from Lagos, and vehicles would drive on it at breakneck speeds because the road was really smooth.

One day, she was travelling from Lagos to Port Harcourt and she sat at the back of a public vehicle. Suddenly, the car’s front tyre ruptured, and the car began to somersault due to its speed. She shouted, “Jesus!” as the car somersaulted the first time, and unseen hands picked her up from the vehicle through the window and sat her down by the highway. She watched the car somersault five more times before it stopped.

People rushed to the scene and saw her sitting by the highway. When they asked her how she got there and she told them she was in the car that had just had an accident, they couldn’t believe her. This is what happens when the Lord puts His angels on guard over your life at all times (Psalm 91:11).

When the Lord is your keeper, He will keep your foot from being moved (Psalm 121:3).

When people are complaining about the state of the economy, for instance, you won’t be moved because the Lord is your keeper. Only Christians who have made Jesus their Lord and Saviour will have no worries in the midst of dangerous situations, like Daniel in the den of hungry lions. God sent His angel to shut the mouths of the lions and prevented them from harming Daniel because he had made God his Lord, and he was God’s responsibility. The next day, those who had made political power their lord were thrown into the same den, and the lions ate them up (Daniel 6:16-24).

People who don’t have Jesus as their Lord are open to the devil’s attacks. Have you genuinely surrendered your life to the Lord? If you haven’t, please do so today. I pray that the Lord will keep you in all your ways with His mighty hands, in Jesus’ name.

    REFLECTION

When you make Jesus your Lord, you will enjoy divine protection.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Luke 5-6

HYMN 19: ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 23 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Daniel 6:22
“My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.”
This is the testimony of divine preservation. It reveals that the most ferocious threats are rendered harmless under God’s watchful care. The angelic intervention was a direct result of Daniel’s unwavering devotion and innocence before God.

    BIBLE READING: Psalms 121:1-8
This psalm is the ultimate anthem of divine preservation:
    v. 3: “He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.”
    v. 4: “Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”
    v. 7: “The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.”
    v. 8: “The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and for evermore.”

The Unshakeable Security of the Believer

Pastor E.A. Adeboye uses a powerful modern-day testimony and the ancient story of Daniel to illustrate a fundamental covenant benefit: divine preservation. For the one who has made Jesus Lord, life is not a journey of chance but of guaranteed safekeeping under the vigilant eyes of an ever-watchful God.

    The Nature of Divine Preservation

Divine preservation is God’s active, continuous work of guarding, protecting, and maintaining His children from all forms of evil and harm. It is not a passive hope but an active guardianship.

    • It is Constant: Your Keeper “shall neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalm 121:4). His vigilance is unceasing, covering you 24/7, in every time zone and in every situation.
    • It is Comprehensive: It preserves from “all evil” (v. 7)—physical, spiritual, emotional, and financial. It covers your “going out and thy coming in” (v. 8)—every activity and every transition in life.
    • It is Supernatural: It often involves angelic activity (Psalm 91:11, Daniel 6:22, Hebrews 1:14). As in the testimony, unseen hands can physically extract you from danger in the blink of an eye.

    The Condition for Preservation

This level of protection is not automatic for everyone; it is conditional upon a relationship:

    • Making Jesus Your Lord: This is the recurring theme. Preservation is for those who have genuinely surrendered their lives to Christ, making Him their ultimate authority. They are, as Daniel was, “his responsibility.”
    • Dwelling in the Secret Place: Psalm 91:1, which promises this protection, begins with “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High…” Abiding in Christ through obedience and intimacy is key.
    • Innocency and Integrity: Daniel’s preservation was linked to the “innocency that was found in me” (Daniel 6:22). A life of integrity and obedience to God fortifies the hedge of protection.

    The Contrast: The Unpreserved

Those who do not have Jesus as Lord are “open to the devil’s attacks.” They are like the adversaries of Daniel who were devoured by the very lions that were harmless to him (Daniel 6:24). Their trust is in political power, wealth, or human strength—all failing protectors.

    The Result: An Unmoved Life

When the Lord is your keeper:

    • You will not be moved (Psalm 121:3). Economic shocks, bad news, pandemics, and dangers may swirl around you, but you remain stable, secure, and at peace.
    • You live without worry. You know you are God’s responsibility, and He is more than capable of managing His assets.
    • Your testimony becomes supernatural. Like Daniel and the sister in the testimony, your life becomes a public display of God’s keeping power.

Conclusion: Are You Under His Keeping?

    Pray this:
“My Father and my Keeper, I thank You for the promise of divine preservation. I declare today that Jesus is my Lord. I surrender every area of my life to Your guardianship. Watch over me, my family, and all that concerns me. Let Your angels camp around me. Preserve my going out and my coming in. Make my life a testimony of Your supernatural keeping power, so that others may see and put their trust in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Affirm His Lordship: Daily acknowledge Jesus as the Lord of your life, especially in areas where you tend to worry.
    2. Pray Psalm 91 & 121: Personalize these psalms and pray them over yourself and your loved ones daily.
    3. Walk in Integrity: Examine your life for any compromise that could breach your hedge of protection. Repent and align yourself with God’s Word.
    4. Live Fearlessly: Step out in faith, knowing you are kept by God. Your safety is not your responsibility; it is His.

Remember: The same God who shut the mouths of lions and plucked a daughter from a somersaulting car is your keeper. Your life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3). You are perfectly safe in His hands.

“The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.” (Psalm 121:7). Rest in this covenant promise.

TOPIC: THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH

    MEMORISE:
The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
    Exodus 15:2

    READ: Psalms 20:1-4:
    1 The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
    2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;
3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.
4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 22 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

When you make Jesus your Lord, you will never lack strength. Psalm 84:5 says, “Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.” When people are complaining of tiredness and weakness, a fellow who has made Jesus Christ his or her Lord will keep going from strength to strength.

They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God. Psalm 84:7

If you are a child of God, every time you come before Him, He gives you a greater dose of strength than the one you had before. Nobody appears before God and leaves weak and weary. If you come before God discouraged, you will leave encouraged. If you come tired, you will leave strengthened. God’s presence supplies endless strength to weary hearts. In areas where you are weak, your Lord will make His strength available to you if you wait on Him.

    Isaiah 40:29-31 says:
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Another way God strengthens His children is by sending good news their way so that their hearts will be filled with joy. I pray that God will send you good news that will strengthen your heart, in Jesus’ name.

I remember when we were building the Redemption Camp (now Redemption City), we built a house from its foundation and completed it in just seven days. I was constantly supervising the construction, but l didn’t feel tired in any way. This was because I was excited about what God was doing, and the Bible says that the joy of the Lord is our strength.

…for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

The joy of the Lord supplies abundant strength, and strength is the ability to do whatever you want to do. When you have strength, you will be able to do everything your heart desires to do for God. I pray for you today that the Lord will strengthen you and fill your heart with joy, in Jesus’ name.

    PRAYER POINT

Father, please let me hear good news that will strengthen my heart in You today, in Jesus’ name.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Luke 3-4

HYMN 27: WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 22 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Exodus 15:2
“The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.”
This triumphant declaration from Moses reveals that God is not just the giver of strength; He is our strength. He is the source, the substance, and the song of our deliverance, worthy of our highest praise and the habitation of our lives.

    BIBLE READING: Psalms 20:1-4
This is a prayer for divine strength in the day of trouble:
    v. 1: “The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee.”
    v. 2: “Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.”
    v. 4: “Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.”
True strength is help sent from God’s very presence to fulfill His purpose in you.

    The Covenant of Ever-Increasing Strength

Pastor E.A. Adeboye unveils a glorious promise for the believer: a life of perpetual and increasing strength that defies natural limitations. This is not a promise of a trouble-free life, but of a divinely empowered life where weakness is overcome by the infinite strength of Christ.

    The Source of Supernatural Strength

    • The Lord is Your Strength (Exodus 15:2): Strength is not a commodity God gives; it is who He is in you. Your connection to Him is your connection to an unending power supply.
    • Strength is in Him (Psalm 84:5): The blessed man is not strong in himself; his strength is in God. This requires a conscious dependence and acknowledgment that apart from Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5).

    The Process of Receiving Strength

    1. Through Waiting on the Lord (Isaiah 40:31):
“Waiting” is not passive idleness; it is active trust and hopeful expectation. It is spending time in God’s presence through prayer, worship, and meditation on His Word. This is the spiritual discipline that facilitates the renewal (exchange) of our human weakness for His divine strength.

    2. Through Appearing Before God (Psalm 84:7):
Every encounter with God in His presence (in personal devotion and corporate worship) results in a spiritual upgrade—”from strength to strength.” You never leave God’s presence the same way you came; you are always fortified, encouraged, and empowered.

    3. Through the Joy of the Lord (Nehemiah 8:10):
God often sends strength packaged as joy. The testimony of building a house in seven days without fatigue illustrates this perfectly. Excitement about what God is doing produces a supernatural adrenaline that cancels weariness. Joy is a fuel that empowers labor.

    The Manifestations of This Strength

    • Renewal for the Faint (Isaiah 40:29): When you have no might left, He increases strength.
    • Supernatural Endurance: The ability to “run, and not be weary… walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31). This is sustained power for the long haul, not just a short burst.
    • Divine Enablement: Strength is “the ability to do whatever you want to do” for God. It is the physical, mental, and spiritual capacity to execute God-inspired visions and assignments.

The Result: A Life That Defies Natural Limits

The world operates on a principle of depletion: energy is spent and fatigue sets in. The believer operating under the Lordship of Christ operates on a principle of renewal: strength is spent and is then supernaturally replenished, often to a greater degree, leading to a life that goes “from strength to strength.”

Conclusion: Tap into the Infinite Source

    Pray this:
“Lord, You are my strength and my song. I confess my weakness and my dependence on You. I wait on You now. Renew my strength. Fill me with Your joy. As I come before You, upgrade me from strength to strength. Empower me to run my race without weariness and to walk in Your will without fainting. Let Your strength be made perfect in my weakness, so that I may accomplish all You have placed in my heart to do, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Identify Your Weakness: What area of your life (physical, emotional, spiritual) feels depleted? Bring it specifically to God.
    2. Schedule Waiting Time: Intentionally set aside 15-30 minutes daily to “wait on the Lord” in prayer and His Word.
    3. Choose Joy: Consciously reject discouragement and choose to rejoice in the Lord and what He is doing, no matter the circumstances.
    4. Test His Strength: Step out in faith to do what God has called you to do, trusting that His strength will be supplied for the task.

Remember: Your strength is not about your age, your health, or your abilities. It is about your connection to the limitless God. You are not called to a life of barely getting by; you are called to a life of going from strength to strength.

“The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation…” (Exodus 15:2). Let this be your testimony.

TOPIC: THE LORD IS MY PEACE

    MEMORISE:
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
    Philippians 4:7

    READ: Acts 27:7-44:
    7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the windnot suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;
8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.
9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast wasnow already past, Paul admonished them,
10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.

11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.

16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:
17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.
    18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;
19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.
20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.

21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.
    27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;
28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,

31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fallfrom the head of any of you.
35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all:and when he had broken it, he began to eat.

36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.
37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.
38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.
39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuckfast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
42 And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 21 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

God has not promised us a storm-free life. In John 16:33, Jesus said, “
…In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” When we make Jesus our Lord, we are assured of peace and safety amidst terrible storms.

In our Bible reading for today, Paul was on his way to Rome on a ship with two hundred and seventy-six passengers. When they got to a place called The Fair Havens, Paul perceived there would be danger on the way and told the people on the ship:

…Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives. Acts 27:10

When you make Jesus your Lord, He will warn you beforehand of some storms. Whenever you sense something wrong about a particular move you are about to make or a decision you are about to take, that might be Jesus trying to shield you from a storm.

Since Paul did not have experience or a special degree in sailing ships, the captain decided to ignore his words of caution. Sometimes, God will send the instruction that will bring you peace through people you least expect such from. People who always expect God to manifest Himself to them in a spectacular manner often miss Him because He often chooses to express Himself with simplicity.

Because the captain refused to listen to Paul, he sailed the ship straight into a terrible storm that almost claimed the lives of everyone on board. They lost many possessions and couldn’t eat for many days because they lost hope. However, Paul, who knew the Lord as His peace, encouraged them even though they had earlier disregarded his counsel.

For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. Acts 27:23-25

Beloved, when the Lord is your peace, He will rescue you from every storm and ensure that nothing is missing or broken in your life. When you make the Lord your peace, He will calm your heart, even in the midst of the trials and challenges of life.

    KEY POINT

When the Lord is your peace, no matter the storms you face, you will emerge victorious.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Luke 1-2

HYMN 29: WHEN PEACE LIKE A RIVER ATTENDETH MY WAY

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 21 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Philippians 4:7
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
This verse promises a supernatural, transcendent peace that operates beyond human logic. It is not the absence of storms, but a divine garrison that “keeps” (literally, stands guard over) your inner being in the midst of them.

    BIBLE READING: Acts 27:7-44
This narrative is a powerful typology of life’s storms and the believer’s anchor:
    v. 10: Divine Warning: Paul, through the Spirit, perceives the coming storm and issues a warning.
    v. 11-20: The Cost of Disobedience: Ignoring God’s counsel leads directly into a tempest that strips away hope and control.
    v. 21-26: The Assurance of Peace: In the storm’s peak, Paul stands on a divine promise of preservation for all who are with him.
    v. 44: The Fulfillment: “And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.” God’s word of peace never fails.

The Promise of Peace in the Storm

Pastor E.A. Adeboye delivers a crucial message that corrects a common misconception: salvation is not a guarantee against life’s storms, but it is the absolute assurance of God’s presence and peace within them. The storm in Acts 27 teaches us how to navigate life’s inevitable tempests.

    The Realities of the Storm

    1. Storms Are Inevitable: Jesus Himself promised tribulation (John 16:33). Believers are not exempt from life’s hardships, economic crises, health challenges, or relational conflicts.
    2. God Provides Warning: Often, the Holy Spirit will give a inward witness—a “perception” or unease—to guide us away from danger (Acts 27:10). This warning may come through Scripture, a quiet prompting, or even the counsel of an unexpected person.
    3. Ignoring Warning Invites Calamity: The centurion and captain preferred human expertise (“the master and owner of the ship”) over divine revelation. The result was the loss of their cargo, their ship, and nearly their lives (v. 18-20).

The Ministry of God’s Peace in the Storm

When you make the Lord your peace, He manifests His presence in the storm in three key ways:

    1. He Calms the Heart Before He Calms the Storm:
While the seasoned sailors and soldiers lost all hope (v. 20), Paul possessed a supernatural calm. This is the “peace that passeth all understanding.” It is an internal stability that contradicts external chaos, rooted not in circumstances but in God’s character and promise.

    2. He Provides a Specific Promise for the Situation:
God did not just give Paul a general sense of peace; He gave him a specific, actionable word: “Fear not… God hath given thee all them that sail with thee” (v. 24). This word became the anchor for everyone’s survival. God’s peace is often linked to a specific promise from His Word.

    3. He Transforms You into a Source of Encouragement:
A person at peace in a storm becomes a lifeline for others. Paul, the prisoner, became the de facto captain because he alone had access to the Prince of Peace. His faith and calmness saved 276 people (v. 22, 25, 34-36).

How to Access and Keep This Peace

    • Heed the Warnings: Cultivate sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s gentle checks and promptings. Do not override them with human logic or experience.
    • Anchor Yourself in God’s Word: His promises are the foundation of your peace. When a storm hits, recall what God has said.
    • Pray with Thanksgiving: Philippians 4:6-7 links the supernatural peace to the practice of bringing requests to God with thanksgiving. Thanking God in the storm is an act of faith that activates His peace.
    • Keep Your Eyes on the Lord of Peace: The storm is real, but your focus must remain on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).

Conclusion: Your Safe Passage is Guaranteed

    Pray this:
“Prince of Peace, I acknowledge You as my Lord. I thank You that Your peace is my portion, not the absence of storms. Forgive me for times I have trusted my own understanding over Your warning. Anchor my heart and mind in Your promises today. Let Your supernatural peace stand guard over me, that I may remain calm and become a source of hope and encouragement to others, even in the midst of life’s greatest tempests. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Identify Your Storm: Name the current situation causing you anxiety or fear.
    2. Find a Promise: Locate a specific scripture that speaks to your situation and write it down.
    3. Pray with Thanksgiving: Present your request to God, thanking Him in advance for His peace and deliverance.
    4. Be an Encourager: Share the peace God gives you with someone else who is struggling.

Remember: The same God who promised Paul that not a life would be lost is watching over you. Your storm has an expiration date, and your safe landing is guaranteed by His word.

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7). Let it keep you today.

TOPIC: THE LORD IS MY LIGHT

    MEMORISE:
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
    Psalms 27:1

    READ: Genesis 26:1-12:
1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.
2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
    3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;
    4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
6 And Isaac dwelt in Gerar:
7 And the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife; lest, said he, the men of the place should kill me for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon.
8 And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife.

9 And Abimelech called Isaac, and said, Behold, of a surety she is thy wife: and how saidst thou, She is my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because I said, Lest I die for her.
10 And Abimelech said, What is this thou hast done unto us? one of the people might lightly have lien with thy wife, and thou shouldest have brought guiltiness upon us.
11 And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 20 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

When you submit to the Lordship of Jesus, He becomes your light. When the Lord becomes your light, you will have access to hidden mysteries. When others complain about a casting down, you will keep rejoicing because God’s light will show you the way to enjoy a lifting up (Job 22:29). As we see in today’s Bible reading, Isaac enjoyed the light of the Lord. While others were dying in famine, he thrived, flourished, and became very great because God lighted his path and showed him what to do

Enjoying God’s light begins with acknowledging and submitting to His Lordship. When God told Isaac to stay where he was during the famine, he did not argue. You cannot enjoy God’s light when you walk in the light of your own fire. Isaiah prophesied about people who walk in the light of their own fires:

Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow. Isaiah 50:11

Walking in the light of your own fire means doing things your way and leaning on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5 says you should not lean on your own understanding. Those who lean on their understanding eventually end up being sorrowful because they will late realise that the way they thought was right was actually wrong (Proverbs 14:12).

When the Lord is your light, you will walk in the way that is right, not in the way that seems right. He will show you the way you should walk in and lead you in the paths of righteousness (Psalm 23:3). As your light, the Lord will lead you in the way that you should go and guide you with His eyes because you are His responsibility (Psalm 32:8).

You cannot remain in the dark about the enemy’s plans when the Lord is your light. In Acts 23:12-22, Paul was in prison, and some people conspired to kill him. They made the perfect plan to deceive the chief captain of the prison by telling him that they just wanted to ask Paul some questions, but their real plan was to kill him. However, God arranged for

Paul’s nephew to overhear their evil plot, and he exposed them. When God is your light, He will expose the enemy’s plans and keep you safe from every evil plot.

    KEY POINT

When the Lord is your light, He will expose your enemies’ plans and grant you access to hidden mysteries.

HYMN 33: GUIDE ME, O THOU GREAT JEHOVAH!

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 20 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Psalm 27:1
“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
This verse presents a threefold identity of God for the believer: He is your Light (illumination and guidance), your Salvation (deliverance and safety), and your Strength (fortitude and power). With this triune assurance, fear is rendered irrational and powerless.

    BIBLE READING: Genesis 26:1-12
This passage is a masterclass in thriving by divine light amidst universal famine:
    v. 2-3: The Divine Instruction: God tells Isaac to dwell in the land of famine and promises to be with him and bless him there.
    v. 6: The Obedience: “And Isaac dwelt in Gerar.”
    v. 12-13: The Result: “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold… and the man waxed great…”
Obedience to God’s specific light led to supernatural prosperity in a time of universal lack.

The Privilege of Walking in Divine Light

Daddy E.A. Adeboye draws a powerful distinction between human ingenuity and divine guidance. The life of Isaac exemplifies the extraordinary benefits of submitting to God’s Lordship, which grants access to His light—a light that reveals secrets, provides strategy, and ensures triumph even in the most adverse circumstances.

    The Two Sources of Light

    • The Light of Your Own Fire (Human Wisdom):
This is the path of self-reliance, leaning on one’s own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). It is kindling your own sparks for illumination.
      • Source: Human intellect, experience, and reasoning.
      • Result: Sorrow, failure, and eventual regret (Isaiah 50:11, Proverbs 14:12). It leads to a way that seems right but ends in destruction.
    • The Light of The Lord (Divine Revelation):
This is the path of God-dependence, receiving illumination directly from the Spirit of God.
      • Source: God’s Word, the Holy Spirit’s prompting, and godly counsel.
      • Result: Guidance, protection, prosperity, and peace. It leads in the right way, not just the seemingly right way (Psalm 23:3).

The Benefits of Walking in God’s Light

    1. It Grants You Strategic Direction:
God’s light told Isaac to stay in the famine-stricken land while others fled. This counterintuitive strategy became the key to his hundredfold harvest. Divine light often provides direction that contradicts human logic but leads to supernatural results.

    2. It Provides Insider Information:
When the Lord is your light, you have access to heaven’s intelligence agency. As with Paul in Acts 23:16-22, God will expose hidden plots and secret strategies of the enemy against you. Nothing about your life is hidden from Him; He will reveal what you need to know to stay safe.

    3. It Eliminates Fear:
The knowledge that God is your light—that He sees what you cannot see and knows what you do not know—banishes fear. You can walk confidently through dark valleys because your path is illuminated by His presence and wisdom (Psalm 23:4).

    4. It Guarantees Supernatural Provision:
In a time of universal famine, Isaac experienced unprecedented abundance because he walked in God’s light. Those connected to divine guidance will always have a competitive advantage; they will thrive when others are barely surviving.

How to Walk Consistently in God’s Light

    1. Submit to His Lordship:
This is the foundational step. You cannot demand God’s light while rejecting His leadership. Surrender the right to chart your own course.

    2. Reject Leaning on Your Understanding:
Consciously refuse to make decisions based solely on human reasoning, past experiences, or popular opinion. Bring every plan before God for approval.

    3. Prioritize Obedience:
When God gives an instruction, as He did to Isaac, obey immediately and completely without argument. Obedience is the key that keeps you in the flow of His light.

    4. Cultivate Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17). Pray for a heightened sensitivity to His gentle promptings, checks, and guidance.

Conclusion: Choose Your Source of Light

    Pray this:
“Lord Jesus, You are my light and my salvation. I renounce the path of self-reliance and the pride of leaning on my own understanding. Today, I submit every area of my life to Your Lordship. Illuminate my path. Reveal Your strategies to me. Expose every hidden plot of the enemy. Guide me with Your eye and lead me in the right way, so that I may thrive in every season and glorify You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

    Action Steps:

    1. Decision Audit: Identify one upcoming decision. Commit to seeking God’s light through prayer and His Word before proceeding.
    2. Scripture Meditation: Memorize and confess Psalm 27:1 and Proverbs 3:5-6 daily.
    3. Obedience Check: Is there any instruction from God (through His Word or Spirit) that you have been delaying to obey? Act on it today.
    4. Testify: Share a testimony of a time God’s guidance led you differently than your own plan and produced a better outcome.

Remember: Walking in your own light leads to sorrow; walking in God’s light leads to salvation, strength, and supernatural success. Your path does not have to be dark or uncertain.

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” (Psalm 27:1). Walk in that light today.
