TOPIC: SHIELDED BY HIS BLOOD
MEMORISE:
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
Hebrews 10:19
READ: Exodus 12:1-14
And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying,
2 This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.
3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb.
5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:
6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’s passover.
12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.
13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
RCCG OPEN HEAVENS 14 OCTOBER 2026 TODAY MESSAGE
The blood of Jesus is one of the many ways God shields His children. In today’s Bible reading, God used the blood of lambs, which was a typology of the blood of Jesus, to save the children of Israel from the plague of death. He said to them, “And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you…” Psalm 116:8 tells us that God delivers our souls from death, our eyes from tears, and our feet from falling. If not for the special shielding of God during the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, many of us would not be here today. Indeed, the blood of Jesus Christ shielded us and delivered our souls from death.
The blood of Jesus Christ also shields us from demonic attacks and grants us victory over the devil and his agents. Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” We are also shielded from wrath and are justified by the blood of Jesus (Romans 5:9).
The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sins. 1 John 1:7 says, “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” Ephesians 1:7 also tells us that we have redemption and forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. That blood also grants us access to God and gives us the boldness to enter into the holiest, as we see in today’s memory verse.
The blood of Jesus also speaks. Hebrews 12:24 says, “And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” I pray that in the name above all other names, you will experience and enjoy the better things Jesus’ blood has spoken and is still speaking on your behalf, in Jesus’ name.
Beloved, the blood of Jesus will not speak for you or shield you if you have yet to accept Him as your Lord and Saviour. In order to be saved and shielded by Jesus’ blood, you must confess with your mouth that He is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9).
PRAYER POINT
Father, I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Please let His blood speak better things on my behalf and shield me from all evil, in Jesus’ name.
