And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
RCCG OPEN HEAVENS 3 NOVEMBER 2026 TODAY MESSAGE
God desires that we express gratitude to Him at all times. This appreciation and gratitude can be expressed through our prayers, praise, and worship. Psalm 100:4 says that we should come before His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus healed 10 lepers, but only one came back to say “Thank you.” Jesus then asked him, “Where are the other nine?”
The reason many people have not received greater miracles from God is that they have not said ‘Thank you’ for the ones He did for them before. When we were launching the first RCCG branch in Abuja, we held a three-day crusade. Before the crusade began, I was in a hotel, praying that God should perform miracles and that there should be a great outpouring of His presence at the crusade. Suddenly, God said, “Shut up.” I was happy because even though that was a rebuke, I was sure that He could hear me. Then He said, “You keep commanding Me to do things for you. Am I your servant? Have you thanked Me for all the things I did in the past?” I apologised immediately and said, “Lord, I thank You for all You did in the past, but please do more.” Again, He told me to stop. Then, He said, “For the next three days, I don’t want to hear anything from you other than thanksgiving.” It was challenging, but I did it anyway. At the end of the three days, the Lord said, “Son, go home, appoint elders, and let them go around to teach the doctrines of the church to strengthen its foundation, because what you have seen thus far is addition. What you are now about to see is multiplication.”
To the glory of God, RCCG has experienced multiplication in Abuja and, indeed, across the world.
Beloved, when you are full of gratitude for what God has done, He will do more like He did for the man who returned to say ‘Thank you’ in today’s Bible reading. Please, do not be counted among the unthankful people of the last days (2 Timothy 3:1-2). If you think deeply, regardless of your situation, you will find several reasons to be thankful to God. Do not wait until the privileges you have taken for granted are taken away before you begin to thank God. He wants you to come before Him with a grateful heart at all times.

It is easy to focus on what we don’t have and forget to thank God for what we do have. Yet gratitude is one of the simplest keys to a deeper walk with God, and today’s devotional, “Gratitude Unlocks More,” shows us why.
Daddy teaches us that thanksgiving is not just a polite gesture — it is a spiritual doorway that opens the way for more of God’s blessings. Let’s look at what the Word says about the power of a grateful heart.
God Desires Your Thanks Always
The first lesson is simple but profound: God wants us to thank Him at all times; not sometimes. Thanksgiving is not an option; it is the doorway into God’s presence (Psalm 100:4).
In everyday life, we can get so busy asking God for things that we forget to thank Him for what He has already done. We pray for a new job while forgetting to thank Him for the one we have. We ask for healing while forgetting to thank Him for the health we enjoy. When we thank God, we acknowledge Him as the source of every good thing (James 1:17). A grateful heart honors God, and God honors those who honor Him. Today, make thanksgiving a priority, not an afterthought. Before you ask for anything, pause and thank Him for what He has already provided.
Gratitude Unlocks More Blessings
The second lesson is where the title comes to life: gratitude unlocks more blessings. In Luke 17:12-19, only one leper out of ten returned to thank Jesus; as a result, he was made whole.
Daddy also shares a personal story. God told him to stop praying for miracles and start thanking Him for what He had done before for three days. Result: God multiplied RCCG.
This means that the blessing you are praying for may be locked behind a “thank you” you have not said. Thank God for your current salary, and He may open a bigger door. Thank Him for the little you have, and He may release abundance.
Reduce your asking, increase your thanking.
Don’t Let Your Situation Make You Unthankful to God
The third lesson is a warning: do not let your situation make you unthankful. Your circumstances are not an excuse for ingratitude. It is easy to think, “I’ll thank God when things get better,” but God wants you to thank Him now, in the middle of the storm.
If you think deeply, regardless of your situation, you will find reasons to be thankful. You may not have everything you want, but you have life, breath, and the mercy of God. You may not have the job you desire, but you have the strength to keep going. Don’t take it for granted. Like the 10 lepers, an ungrateful person does not know what he is missing.
Gratitude Is the Doorway to Multiplication
Gratitude is not just good manners; it is a spiritual key that unlocks the heart of God. He desires your thanks always, He blesses those who return to say “thank you,” and He warns us not to let our circumstances make us forget His goodness. If you want to see addition turn into multiplication in your life, start with thanksgiving.
Before you ask for more, thank Him for what you already have. Before you complain about what is missing, praise Him for what is present. Gratitude will change your perspective, and it will change your outcome. As you go about your week, let every prayer begin and end with thanks. The God who receives your gratitude is the God who releases your increase.
Action Steps
- Begin every prayer with thanksgiving. Before you ask God for anything, take time to thank Him for what He has already done. Let gratitude be the first words out of your mouth, not the last.
- Keep a gratitude journal. Each day this week, write down at least three things God has done for you. Review the list whenever you feel your situation is overwhelming, and thank Him for each item.
- Thank God for your current level. Whether it is your salary, your job, your family, or your health, thank God for where you are right now, trusting that your gratitude will unlock your next level.
Prayer Points
- Father, I thank You for all You have done in my life (mention them), even those things I have taken for granted. I am grateful, Lord.
- Lord, forgive me for the times I have been ungrateful. Forgive me for focusing on what I lack instead of thanking You for what You have provided, in Jesus’ name.
- Father, as I thank You daily, unlock every blessing You have prepared for me. Open the doors to supernatural increase, in Jesus’ name.
- Lord, let my thanksgiving become a lifestyle. Teach me to thank You in every season, in every situation, and in every circumstance, in Jesus’ name.
- Father, help me to see Your goodness even in the midst of challenges, in Jesus’ name.
- Father, let me never be among the unthankful in these last days. Keep my heart tender and grateful, and let my thanksgiving be pleasing to You, in Jesus’ name.
- Spend quality time thanking God today.
