TOPIC: THE LORD IS MY LIGHT

READ: Genesis 26:1-12:
1 And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar.
2 And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of:
3 Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father;
4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 20 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

When you submit to the Lordship of Jesus, He becomes your light. When the Lord becomes your light, you will have access to hidden mysteries. When others complain about a casting down, you will keep rejoicing because God’s light will show you the way to enjoy a lifting up (Job 22:29). As we see in today’s Bible reading, Isaac enjoyed the light of the Lord. While others were dying in famine, he thrived, flourished, and became very great because God lighted his path and showed him what to do

Enjoying God’s light begins with acknowledging and submitting to His Lordship. When God told Isaac to stay where he was during the famine, he did not argue. You cannot enjoy God’s light when you walk in the light of your own fire. Isaiah prophesied about people who walk in the light of their own fires:

Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow. Isaiah 50:11

Walking in the light of your own fire means doing things your way and leaning on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5 says you should not lean on your own understanding. Those who lean on their understanding eventually end up being sorrowful because they will late realise that the way they thought was right was actually wrong (Proverbs 14:12).

When the Lord is your light, you will walk in the way that is right, not in the way that seems right. He will show you the way you should walk in and lead you in the paths of righteousness (Psalm 23:3). As your light, the Lord will lead you in the way that you should go and guide you with His eyes because you are His responsibility (Psalm 32:8).

You cannot remain in the dark about the enemy’s plans when the Lord is your light. In Acts 23:12-22, Paul was in prison, and some people conspired to kill him. They made the perfect plan to deceive the chief captain of the prison by telling him that they just wanted to ask Paul some questions, but their real plan was to kill him. However, God arranged for

Paul’s nephew to overhear their evil plot, and he exposed them. When God is your light, He will expose the enemy’s plans and keep you safe from every evil plot.

KEY POINT

When the Lord is your light, He will expose your enemies’ plans and grant you access to hidden mysteries.

MEMORISE: Psalm 27:1
“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
This verse presents a threefold identity of God for the believer: He is your Light (illumination and guidance), your Salvation (deliverance and safety), and your Strength (fortitude and power). With this triune assurance, fear is rendered irrational and powerless.

BIBLE READING: Genesis 26:1-12
This passage is a masterclass in thriving by divine light amidst universal famine:
v. 2-3: The Divine Instruction: God tells Isaac to dwell in the land of famine and promises to be with him and bless him there.
v. 6: The Obedience: “And Isaac dwelt in Gerar.”
v. 12-13: The Result: “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold… and the man waxed great…”
Obedience to God’s specific light led to supernatural prosperity in a time of universal lack.

The Privilege of Walking in Divine Light

Daddy E.A. Adeboye draws a powerful distinction between human ingenuity and divine guidance. The life of Isaac exemplifies the extraordinary benefits of submitting to God’s Lordship, which grants access to His light—a light that reveals secrets, provides strategy, and ensures triumph even in the most adverse circumstances.

The Two Sources of Light

• The Light of Your Own Fire (Human Wisdom):
  This is the path of self-reliance, leaning on one’s own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). It is kindling your own sparks for illumination.
  • Source: Human intellect, experience, and reasoning.
  • Result: Sorrow, failure, and eventual regret (Isaiah 50:11, Proverbs 14:12). It leads to a way that seems right but ends in destruction.
• The Light of The Lord (Divine Revelation):
  This is the path of God-dependence, receiving illumination directly from the Spirit of God.
  • Source: God’s Word, the Holy Spirit’s prompting, and godly counsel.
  • Result: Guidance, protection, prosperity, and peace. It leads in the right way, not just the seemingly right way (Psalm 23:3).

The Benefits of Walking in God’s Light

1. It Grants You Strategic Direction:
God’s light told Isaac to stay in the famine-stricken land while others fled. This counterintuitive strategy became the key to his hundredfold harvest. Divine light often provides direction that contradicts human logic but leads to supernatural results.

2. It Provides Insider Information:
When the Lord is your light, you have access to heaven’s intelligence agency. As with Paul in Acts 23:16-22, God will expose hidden plots and secret strategies of the enemy against you. Nothing about your life is hidden from Him; He will reveal what you need to know to stay safe.

3. It Eliminates Fear:
The knowledge that God is your light—that He sees what you cannot see and knows what you do not know—banishes fear. You can walk confidently through dark valleys because your path is illuminated by His presence and wisdom (Psalm 23:4).

4. It Guarantees Supernatural Provision:
In a time of universal famine, Isaac experienced unprecedented abundance because he walked in God’s light. Those connected to divine guidance will always have a competitive advantage; they will thrive when others are barely surviving.

How to Walk Consistently in God’s Light

1. Submit to His Lordship:
This is the foundational step. You cannot demand God’s light while rejecting His leadership. Surrender the right to chart your own course.

2. Reject Leaning on Your Understanding:
Consciously refuse to make decisions based solely on human reasoning, past experiences, or popular opinion. Bring every plan before God for approval.

3. Prioritize Obedience:
When God gives an instruction, as He did to Isaac, obey immediately and completely without argument. Obedience is the key that keeps you in the flow of His light.

4. Cultivate Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17). Pray for a heightened sensitivity to His gentle promptings, checks, and guidance.

Conclusion: Choose Your Source of Light

Pray this:
“Lord Jesus, You are my light and my salvation. I renounce the path of self-reliance and the pride of leaning on my own understanding. Today, I submit every area of my life to Your Lordship. Illuminate my path. Reveal Your strategies to me. Expose every hidden plot of the enemy. Guide me with Your eye and lead me in the right way, so that I may thrive in every season and glorify You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Action Steps:

1. Decision Audit: Identify one upcoming decision. Commit to seeking God’s light through prayer and His Word before proceeding.
2. Scripture Meditation: Memorize and confess Psalm 27:1 and Proverbs 3:5-6 daily.
3. Obedience Check: Is there any instruction from God (through His Word or Spirit) that you have been delaying to obey? Act on it today.
4. Testify: Share a testimony of a time God’s guidance led you differently than your own plan and produced a better outcome.

Remember: Walking in your own light leads to sorrow; walking in God’s light leads to salvation, strength, and supernatural success. Your path does not have to be dark or uncertain.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 19 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

David was a shepherd boy before Samuel anointed him as Israel’s king. In fact, Samuel had to send for him while he was taking care of his father’s sheep (1 Samuel 16:11-13). Hence, he fully understood what it meant to be a shepherd, and that was why he acknowledged God as his shepherd in today’s Bible reading.

Sheep enjoy many blessings under their shepherd. Our Lord is, however, not just a shepherd; He is the Good Shepherd (John 10:11). Beloved, before the blessings of the Good Shepherd can be yours, He must be your Lord, and you must be His sheep. God does not shepherd those who are lords of themselves, neither does He shepherd goats.

These are some of the blessings of having the Lord as your shepherd:

1. You will never lack rest. David said in Psalm 23:2, “He maketh me to lie down…” When you are God’s sheep, you will not lack sleep. God gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2).

2. You will be well-fed. Hunger is a stranger to God’s sheep because He causes them to lie down in green pastures (Psalm 23:2). Psalm 63:5 says, “My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness…”

3. Your thirst will be satisfied because He will lead you beside still waters (Psalm 23:2). Matthew 5:6 says, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”

4. You will never lack restoration (Psalm 23:3). In Joel 2:23-26, God promised that He will restore the years that the cankerworm and caterpillar have eaten. No matter what you lose, you are assured of total restoration when the Lord is your shepherd.

5. You will not lack guidance because He will lead you in the paths of righteousness (Psalm 23:3). Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth (John 16:12- 13). With the Holy Spirit in charge of your life, you will have absolutely nothing to worry about.

6. You will have nothing to fear because you will enjoy God’s divine presence. Even though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you will fear no evil, for He will be with you (Psalm 23:4). In Hebrews 13:5, He promised to never leave you nor forsake you.

Beloved, acknowledge the Lord as your shepherd in every area of your life. Entrust your life to Him completely, and you will enjoy these blessings and many more. I pray that the Lord will truly manifest Himself in your life, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 5: BLESSED ASSURANCE

MEMORISE: Psalm 23:1
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
This is a personal confession of absolute trust and surrender. It is not “The Lord is a shepherd” but “my shepherd.” This personal relationship is the foundation for the promise of “I shall not want”—a life free from all lack, because the One who owns everything has taken full responsibility for you.

BIBLE READING: Psalms 23:1-6
This entire psalm is a detailed covenant between the Shepherd and His sheep, outlining the comprehensive care package that comes with being under His protection and provision. Each verse reveals a new dimension of His faithful guardianship.

The Covenant of the Good Shepherd

Pastor E.A. Adeboye, drawing from David’s intimate knowledge of shepherding, unveils the profound blessings reserved for those who truly belong to the flock of the Good Shepherd. This is not a generic promise for all, but a specific covenant for those who have willingly submitted to His Lordship and ownership.

The Prerequisite for the Blessings

The blessings of Psalm 23 are not automatic. They are contingent upon a personal, surrendered relationship:

• He must be your Shepherd: You must acknowledge His ownership and leadership over your life.
• You must be His sheep: You must adopt the posture of a sheep—dependent, trusting, obedient, and listening to His voice (John 10:27). God does not shepherd independent, self-willed “goats.”

The Sixfold Blessing of His Flock

1. The Blessing of Perfect Rest (v. 2a)
“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures…”
A shepherd makes his sheep lie down only when they are free from fear, friction, hunger, and pests. This is a promise of divinely orchestrated peace and freedom from anxiety. It is the fulfillment of Psalm 127:2—”He giveth his beloved sleep.”

2. The Blessing of Complete Provision (v. 2b)
“…he leadeth me beside the still waters.”
The Shepherd doesn’t just provide; He provides the best (“green pastures”) and leads to safe, drinkable water (“still waters”). This speaks of provision that is both abundant and accessible, satisfying every hunger and thirst of the spirit and soul (Matthew 5:6).

3. The Blessing of Total Restoration (v. 3a)
“He restoreth my soul…”
The Shepherd actively mends the broken, heals the wounded, and renews the weary. He specializes in restoring lost joy, peace, and strength. This is the promise of Joel 2:25—He will restore the years that have been stolen or lost.

4. The Blessing of Righteous Guidance (v. 3b)
“…he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
You will never be lost or confused about God’s will. The Shepherd leads you on paths that honor Him and fulfill your destiny. This is the ministry of the Holy Spirit, who guides into all truth (John 16:13).

5. The Blessing of Fearless Security (v. 4)
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me…”
The Shepherd’s presence transforms the darkest valley into a mere passageway. His rod (for defense) and staff (for guidance) are your assurance. This is the practical outworking of Hebrews 13:5—His unwavering presence banishes all fear.

6. The Blessing of Overflowing Abundance (v. 5-6)
“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies… my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…”
The Shepherd doesn’t just protect you from enemies; He promotes you in their presence. His blessing is so abundant it overflows, and His covenant kindness (goodness) and loyal love (mercy) pursue you relentlessly all your days.

The Call to Personal Surrender

These blessings are not for observers but for participants. They are activated by a deliberate act of faith and surrender.

Pray this:
“Lord Jesus, You are the Good Shepherd. I acknowledge today that I am Your sheep. I surrender my will and my way to You. I trust You to lead me, provide for me, protect me, and restore me. From this day forward, I declare, ‘The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.’ Thank You for the covenant of peace, provision, and purpose that is now mine. In Your name, I pray. Amen.”

Action Steps:

1. Identify Your ‘Want’: What is causing you anxiety or a sense of lack? Verbally release it to your Shepherd.
2. Memorize the Psalm: Hide Psalm 23 in your heart. Recite it daily as a confession of your trust.
3. Listen for His Voice: Spend quiet time each morning listening for the guidance of your Shepherd through His Word and His Spirit.
4. Testify of His Faithfulness: Share with others how the Good Shepherd is meeting your needs and leading you.

Remember: The quality of your life as a believer is directly proportional to your willingness to be shepherded. Resisting the Shepherd leads to lack; surrendering to Him leads to a life where want is abolished.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 18 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Who is a lord? A lord is someone you are required to submit to. A lord is someone you do not say ‘no’ to. When people go to court, they address the judge as ‘my lord.’ Nobody in their right senses will dare argue with a judge after a verdict has been given in a law court. The only thing people can do if they don’t like a verdict is to appeal to a higher court. However, to argue with a judge, whom they address as ‘my lord’ in court, is unthinkable.

When a fellow surrenders his or her life to Jesus Christ, He not only becomes the fellow’s saviour, He also becomes his or her Lord. As your Lord, Jesus is in control of your life. He determines what you do, where you go, and how you must behave. You don’t have the liberty to speak anyhow again because He is now your Lord.

For instance, you cannot spend your money the way you like because you are no longer your own. When you understand the Lordship of Jesus and submit to Him as your Lord, you will enjoy the countless benefits of having Him as your Lord.

I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. Psalm 16:8-9

In the Scripture above, David knew God as his Lord and submitted to Him. He knew he was no longer in control of his life, so he was always setting the Lord before him. When you set the Lord before you in all you do, He will make sure nothing harms you; He will defend, protect, and preserve you. This Lord is the Lord of hosts, and He has all forces in heaven, on earth, and under the earth at His disposal. To submit to Him is to have everything He owns at your disposal.

The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name. Jeremiah 51:19

Beloved, have you surrendered your life completely to Jesus Christ? Do you know Him as your Lord? Your success in life lies in knowing and submitting to God as Lord of all in your life.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 18 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

MEMORISE: Jeremiah 33:2
“Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name.”
This verse is a powerful declaration of God’s sovereign identity as the Creator (maker), the Designer (formed it), and the Sustainer (to establish it). It is a reminder that the One who calls you to submission is the all-powerful Architect of all existence.

BIBLE READING: Isaiah 42:5-8
This passage unveils the majesty and purpose of the Lord:
v. 5: He is the Creator of the heavens and earth and the Giver of life and spirit.
v. 6: He calls His people in righteousness and holds them by the hand.
v. 8: “I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another…”
His Lordship is rooted in His unique, unparalleled glory and holiness.

The Supreme Lordship of Christ

Pastor E.A. Adeboye presents a foundational truth of the Christian faith: salvation is not merely an event but an exchange of ownership. When we surrender to Christ, we are not just accepting a Savior from sin; we are welcoming a Lord over our lives. His Lordship is the key to unlocking a life of divine protection, purpose, and provision.

What Does It Mean For Jesus To Be Lord?

• Absolute Authority: A lord, as illustrated by the courtroom judge, is one whose word is final. To call Jesus “Lord” is to relinquish your right to self-governance and to acknowledge His ultimate authority over every decision, action, and word (Luke 6:46).
• Total Submission: It means you no longer have the liberty to speak, spend, or live “anyhow.” Every area of your life—your finances, relationships, career, and speech—comes under His jurisdiction and command.
• Unquestioning Obedience: The only proper response to a lord’s command is obedience. Arguing or negotiating is “unthinkable.” The option, if any, is not disobedience but an appeal through prayer for deeper understanding.

The Benefits of Submitting to His Lordship

1. Unshakable Stability (Psalm 16:8-9):
When you “set the LORD always before you” (acknowledge His Lordship in every situation), you position yourself at His right hand—the place of power and favor. The result is that you “shall not be moved” by the storms of life. Your heart finds gladness and your soul finds rest.

2. Divine Protection and Defense:
The Lord is the “LORD of hosts” (Jeremiah 51:19)—the Commander of all heavenly armies. Submitting to Him means all the forces of heaven are mobilized for your defense, protection, and preservation. You are under the guardianship of Omnipotence.

3. Access to His Unlimited Resources:
To be yoked to the Lord of all is to have everything He owns at your disposal. His wisdom, power, and provision become available to you as you align your will with His.

The Critical Question of Surrender

The devotional ends with two piercing questions that every believer must answer:

1. “Have you surrendered your life completely to Jesus Christ?” This is about totality. Is there any area you are still withholding from His control?
2. “Do you know Him as your Lord?” This is about intimacy and revelation. It is possible to acknowledge His Lordship theologically without experiencing it practically.

Warning: The Danger of a Partial Surrender

To call Jesus “Savior” but refuse Him as “Lord” is to live in contradiction and rob oneself of the benefits of His full dominion. It is to remain on the throne of your own life, thereby choosing instability and vulnerability over the secure rest found in His Lordship.

Conclusion: The Place of Ultimate Safety

Pray this:
“Lord Jesus, I acknowledge You today not only as my Savior but as my Lord. I repent of every area of my life where I have withheld authority from You. From this day forward, I surrender completely. You have the final say over my finances, my relationships, my career, and my words. I set You always before me. Take Your rightful place on the throne of my heart and establish me in Your perfect will. Thank you for being my Lord. Amen.”

Action Steps:

1. Conduct a Lordship Audit: Identify one specific area of your life (e.g., finances, a relationship, a habit) where you have not fully submitted to Christ’s authority. Surrender it today.
2. Practice Obedience: The next time you feel a clear prompting from the Holy Spirit or Scripture, obey immediately without argument or delay.
3. Declare His Lordship: Begin each day by verbally affirming: “Jesus, You are my Lord today. I submit my will to Yours.”
4. Study His Names: Research the names of God (e.g., Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Nissi) to understand the multifaceted benefits of His Lordship.

Remember: Your success, security, and peace in life are directly tied to your submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. He is not a tyrant; He is a benevolent and all-wise Master. To be under His authority is to be in the place of ultimate safety and provision.

“I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” (Psalm 16:8). This is the blessed life of the submitted heart.

TOPIC: WHOM TO MARRY

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 17 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Today’s Bible reading says that you should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers; hence, Christians should not get married to unbelievers. If Christians get themselves yoked in marriage with unbelievers, thinking they can change them, they are only deceiving themselves. People who refuse to change before marriage hardly ever change after marriage. It is also important to note that being nice or courteous is not the same thing as being born again.

As a child of God, you are standing on God, the Solid Rock. An unbeliever, on the other hand, is standing on miry clay. When you are standing on a rock, and you are holding somebody who is standing on miry clay, the chances are very high that the fellow standing on miry clay will cause you to either stumble or fall completely because he or she is standing on slippery ground. This is what happens with many believers who think they can change their unbelieving partners. Their partners will, more often than not, cause them to stumble and fall, and they might end up losing their faith in the process. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:12: 46
‘…let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.”

Also, Christians who are not yet married should not marry people who stubbornly refuse to listen to corrections and make necessary changes in their actions or behaviours.

The Bible says in Proverbs 15:32:
“He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.” If you are a Christian who is not yet married, don’t marry someone who doesn’t have an authority figure that he or she listens and submits to. Anyone who does not listen to anybody or submit to anyone will not listen to you either.

Also, it is not advisable for a believer to marry an immature Christian. It is better for a believer to marry someone who has attained a level of spiritual maturity and is constantly growing so they can sharpen each other.

Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17

If you are not yet married, do not marry a carnal Christian because such a fellow’s attachment to the things of the world rather than spiritual things can also cause you to stumble and fall.

Beloved, marrying the right person is like experiencing heaven on earth. However, if a fellow marries the wrong person, he or she will experience hell on earth.

This is the ultimate litmus test for any relationship, especially marriage. It instructs us to look beyond mere words or appearances and to make discerning judgments based on the consistent evidence of a person’s character, lifestyle, and spiritual state.

BIBLE READING: 2 Corinthians 6:14-16
This passage contains a non-negotiable divine command and its logical reasoning:
v. 14: The Command: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers…”
v. 14-15: The Reasoning: There is no fellowship, communion, agreement, or part between righteousness and unrighteousness, light and darkness, Christ and Belial.
v. 16: The Core Issue: “And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God…” Your body is a temple; do not unite it with an idolater.

The Profile of the Wrong Spouse

1. The Uncorrectable: Someone who “refuseth instruction” (Proverbs 15:32). This is a person characterized by pride and an inability to submit to authority. If they won’t listen to anyone else, they will not listen to you.
2. The Unsubmissive: A person with no spiritual authority figure in their life. This indicates a rebellious heart that will resist God-ordained order in the home.
3. The Immature Christian: A believer who is stagnant, carnal, and more attached to the world than to spiritual things. This person cannot sharpen you (Proverbs 27:17); they will only dull your spiritual edge and become a burden rather than a helper.

The Biblical Standard for the Right Spouse

The right partner is one who:

• Is a Genuine Believer: This is the absolute baseline, non-negotiable requirement.
• Bears Good Fruit (Matthew 7:20): Their life consistently exhibits the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
• Is Spiritually Mature and Growing: They are actively pursuing a deeper relationship with Christ, are accountable to spiritual authority, and are committed to their local church.
• Accepts Correction: They have a humble and teachable spirit, understanding that reproof is a path to understanding (Proverbs 15:32).

The Consequences of Disobedience

• Spiritual Compromise: Constant tension between your faith and your spouse’s worldview.
• Emotional Torment: A deep sense of being alone in your most important relationship.
• “Hell on Earth”: A life of strife, regret, and spiritual defeat instead of the “heaven on earth” God intends for a godly marriage.

Conclusion: Choose Wisely, Pray Diligently

Pray this:
“Heavenly Father, thank You for Your clear instruction on marriage. Give me the discernment to recognize the right person by their fruit. Guard my heart from deception and emotional compromise. I commit my future spouse to You. Prepare me to be a godly partner and lead me to someone who is firmly standing on the Solid Rock, growing in spiritual maturity, and with whom I can build a covenant that glorifies You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Action Steps:

1. Make a List: Based on this devotional, write down the non-negotiable biblical qualities you require in a spouse.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 16 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Ecclesiastes 7:9 says that anger rests in the bosom of fools. In other words, if a fellow gets angry easily, he or she is similar to someone who says there is no God – they are both fools (Psalm 14:1). Those who get angry easily often blame other people as the cause of their anger. If this is the case, then it means that they allow the people who offend them to control their emotions.

Proverbs 25:28 says that a person who is not in control of his spirit is like a city that has no walls. If you allow others to control how you feel, then you are in great danger of destruction.

Proverbs 29:22 says, “An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.” Anyone who gets angry easily will hardly have friends because he or she will always stir up strife with them. Things that shouldn’t ordinarily cause quarrels would become big issues because of the fellow’s short temper.

A man once bought a brand-new car, and one day, while he was washing it, his five-year-old son was on the other side of the car, writing something on it with a sharp object. When the man discovered this, he got very angry and shouted, “This boy! You are scratching my new car!” In his anger, he grabbed the first thing he could lay his hands on – a hammer. He then began to smash the boy’s hands. By the time he realised what he was doing, the boy’s fingers had already been severely damaged.

He rushed the boy to the hospital, but the doctors could not do anything about the fingers, and they had to be amputated. The following day, the boy asked him, “Daddy, when will my fingers grow back?” Feeling guilty, the man went to the car and looked at what the boy had written on it. Lo and behold, it was, ‘I love you, Daddy’. The man could not bear the pain he felt thereafter, so he committed suicide. His anger wreaked havoc on the family.

Beloved, if you allow anger to control you, you are giving room to the devil (Ephesians 4:27), and whenever he gets into a place, his mission is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). If you are always quick to get angry or you can’t control your anger, ask God to deliver you today. Constantly renew your mind with His word and submit yourself to counselling so that you can overcome the destructive power of anger.

Do not give room to the devil in your life by allowing anger to control you.

This scripture provides a divine framework for emotion. It acknowledges that anger itself is not the sin; it is the mishandling of it that leads to sin. The critical commands are to resolve it quickly and to never, ever grant it as a foothold to the enemy.

The enemy actively looks for entry points. Unresolved anger is a wide-open door that allows him to:

1. Steal your peace, joy, and relationships.
2. Kill your testimony, influence, and love for others.
3. Destroy your family, health, and future—as tragically illustrated in the story of the man and his son.

The Godly Path to Overcoming Anger

1. Be Swift to Hear, Slow to Speak (James 1:19):
This is the preventative measure. Instead of reacting instantly, pause to listen and seek understanding. Many moments of anger are diffused by simply hearing the full story.

2. Resolve It Before Sunset (Ephesians 4:26):
Do not let anger fester. Address the issue biblically (Matthew 18:15) and forgive quickly. Going to bed angry grants the devil extra hours to poison your heart and mind.

3. Recognize It Does Not Achieve God’s Righteousness (James 1:20):
Human anger is a selfish, destructive force. If your goal is truly justice or righteousness, God’s methods—meekness, wisdom, and love—are infinitely more effective.

4. Constant Renewal of the Mind (Romans 12:2):
You cannot overcome a fleshly pattern with willpower alone. You must saturate your mind with God’s Word, allowing the Holy Spirit to transform your default reactions.

5. Seek Godly Deliverance and Counseling:
If you have a pattern of uncontrollable anger, recognize it as a spiritual stronghold that may require prayer for deliverance and submission to wise, biblical counseling (Proverbs 11:14).

Warning: The Unchecked Trajectory of Anger

The story in the devotional is not an exaggeration; it is a logical conclusion. Uncontrolled anger always leads to regret. It causes permanent damage to relationships, destroys reputations, and can lead to irreversible actions that haunt you for a lifetime.

Conclusion: Take Back Control by Submitting to God

Pray this:
“Heavenly Father, I confess my struggle with anger. Forgive me for the times I have given place to the devil through my wrath. I renounce this spirit of anger and ask for Your deliverance. Holy Spirit, help me to be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to wrath. Fill me with Your love and patience. I choose to forgive those who offend me and I take back the ground I have given to the enemy. My emotions are under Your control from this day forward, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Action Steps:

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 15 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

All power in heaven and on earth belongs to God. Psalm 62:11 says, “God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.” This means that nothing is impossible for Him to do.

In Jeremiah 32:27, He said, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?” Luke 1:37 also tells us that with God, nothing shall be impossible. Whenever anybody tells you that a situation you are in is impossible, you should know that such a person is not considering that God is all-powerful. Once you consciously invite God into a situation, things change dramatically for the better.

In 1979, we were getting ready for a congress. We called it Christ The Redeemer’s Congress in those days. We used to hold the congress in different cities and feed everyone who attends.

In preparation for this particular congress, my wife and I went to the market to buy some cows. We wanted to buy three cows to feed the people that would attend, but when we were told they would cost seven hundred and fifty naira in total, we went back home because we didn’t have the money. We asked God, “Lord, what are we going to do? Where shall we get the money to buy cows?” We began to pray, and suddenly, somebody knocked on the door.

When we opened the door, we saw a brother who had come all the way from Lagos. He said, “Sir, I hope you have not bought cows yet.” We replied, “No, we don’t have the money.” He said, “I have already bought three for the congress.” The All-powerful God who has the cattle upon a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) provided just what we needed at the nick of time.

The All-Powerful God can change any story, no matter how bad it is. Zacchaeus was regarded as a sinner by everyone in his town. However, when Jesus met him, his story changed. God’s power changed Zacchaeus and made him a new person (Luke 19:1-10).

Beloved, all power in heaven, on earth, and underneath the earth belongs to God, and He can transform lives, marriages, finances, and every other thing you can think about. If there is any negative situation in your life, invite God into the situation by taking it to Him in prayers and trusting Him. He will manifest Himself mightily in your life and turn that situation around for good.

PRAYER POINT

All-powerful God, please show Yourself mighty in my life, in Jesus’ name.

MEMORISE: Jeremiah 32:17

This is a declaration of God’s omnipotence rooted in His identity as Creator. The same power that spoke the universe into existence is actively available to address any situation you face. Nothing—no crisis, lack, or impossibility—is beyond His capacity to resolve.

This passage is a hymn to God’s creative power and wisdom:
v. 15: He “hath made the earth by his power,” established the world by His wisdom, and stretched out the heaven by His understanding.
v. 16: He is the God of all creation, and “when he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens.”
The power that governs the cosmos is personally invested in your life.

The God of Absolute Possibility

The Scope of God’s Power

• Providential Power: This is God’s power to provide for His people in precise, timely, and miraculous ways. The testimony of the three cows is a classic example of Jehovah Jireh, who owns “the cattle upon a thousand hills” (Psalm 50:10), orchestrating events to meet a specific need.
• Transformative Power: This is God’s power to change human nature and rewrite life stories. The encounter with Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10) demonstrates that no one is beyond the reach of God’s saving and transforming power.

The Key to Accessing God’s Power

1. Conscious Invitation:
God’s power is often activated by a deliberate invitation through prayer. The moment you consciously bring an impossible situation to Him, you create a channel for His power to flow. Daddy Adeboye and his wife didn’t just worry; they prayed, “Lord, what are we going to do?”

2. Faith in His Nature:
Believing that with God, nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37) is the foundation for seeing His power manifest. This faith refuses to accept the world’s “impossible” label and instead asks, “Is there anything too hard for the Lord?” (Jeremiah 32:27).

3. Trust in His Timing:
God’s provision often comes “at the nick of time,” not on our preferred schedule. This requires trusting that He is never late and that His timing is perfect to maximize His glory and strengthen our faith.

The Areas of Life God’s Power Can Transform

• Financial Impossibilities: He can provide resources from unexpected sources.
• Relational Impossibilities: He can soften hardened hearts and reconcile the estranged.
• Physical Impossibilities: He can heal incurable diseases and restore broken bodies.
• Spiritual Impossibilities: He can save the worst sinner and break the strongest addiction.
• Marital Impossibilities: He can restore dead marriages and bless barren wombs.

Warning: Limiting God

The only thing that hinders God’s power is unbelief (Matthew 13:58). When we look at the size of our problem instead of the size of our God, we effectively shut the door on the miraculous.

Conclusion: Bring Him Your Impossibility

Pray this:
“Ah Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power. There is absolutely nothing too hard for You. Today, I bring the impossible situation in my life [mention it specifically] before You. I consciously invite You into it. I trust in Your power to provide, transform, and overcome. I believe that You are working behind the scenes, even now, to turn this situation around for my good and Your glory. Thank You, Almighty God. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Action Steps:

1. Identify the Impossible: Write down the situation that seems hopeless or insurmountable.
2. Pray the Scripture: Pray Jeremiah 32:17 and 27 over your situation. Use God’s Word as the foundation of your petition.
3. Thank Him in Advance: Begin to thank God for His intervention, demonstrating your faith in His power and timing.
4. Watch for His Move: Be expectant and alert to how God might orchestrate events, people, or resources to bring about your miracle.

Remember: The same power that created the heavens and the earth is on your side. Your impossibility is God’s opportunity to display His glory. Your story is not over; it is about to be rewritten by the hand of the Almighty.

“Ah Lord GOD! behold… there is nothing too hard for thee:” (Jeremiah 32:17). Let this be your confession today.

Many people get so worried about their future that they forget to do the right things today.

Today’s Bible reading says that you should not worry about tomorrow because God will take care of it. Sufficient unto each day are the troubles thereof; hence, you should face today’s issues rather than worry about tomorrow.

Believe me, worry is an absolute waste of time. Jesus said that you cannot add one cubit to your stature by worrying (Matthew 6:27). Worry weakens; instead of worrying, believers should trust God with their future.

Whatever is placed in God’s hand will always blossom. Don’t ever think you know how to make your tomorrow good; you have absolutely no idea of what is going to happen tomorrow.

For instance, many people had made careful plans before the coronavirus pandemic hit. However, because of the pandemic, they had to put their plans on hold.

So many things that are beyond your control can happen, so it is better to place your future in the hands of the One who is the Beginning and the End.

This is why James 4:13-16 says that you don’t know what will happen tomorrow, so whenever you are talking about the future, you should acknowledge that whatever happens will be dependent on God’s will.

I was less than 40 years old when I became the General Overseer of RCCG. One day, I looked at myself in the mirror and saw grey hair all over my head. I asked God, “Lord, how did this happen? I’m still a young boy.”

At that time, the church had some problems, so the Lord said to me, “It is because you’re carrying a burden that is not your own.” I replied, “It’s the burden of the church.” He asked, “Whose church is it? Is it the church of Adeboye?” | replied, “No.” Then He said, “Who told you l can’t take care of My own burden? You are carrying a burden that is not yours. I just made you General Overseer so that people will see you as My representative. I am the owner of My church, and I will take care of My church.”

After hearing this, I relaxed, and my hair became black again. A few years ago, I saw some strands of grey hairs on my head and asked God, “Lord, am I worrying again?” He said, “No. This time, you are getting old.”

Beloved, do not worry. Instead, put your trust in God because He always takes care of His own.

This is a direct command coupled with a profound assurance. The act of “casting” is a deliberate, forceful transfer of a burden. We are to do this because the receiving party—God—is not indifferent; He is deeply, personally invested in our well-being.

This is the Master’s definitive teaching on anxiety:
v. 25: The Command: “Take no thought” (KJV) or “Do not worry” (NIV) about your life.
v. 27: The Futility of Worry: It is completely unproductive—it cannot add a single hour to your life.

The Futility of Worry and the Faith of Surrender

3. It Assumes a False Responsibility: Worry makes you feel responsible for outcomes that are utterly beyond your control, as seen in James 4:13-15. It is the arrogance of assuming we can manage the future.
4. It Weakens You Spiritually and Physically: As Daddy Adeboye’s testimony shows, worry has tangible consequences (grey hair, stress, illness). It saps the strength you need for today’s legitimate battles.

The Divine Alternative: Casting Your Care

1. Recognize the True Owner of the Burden:
God’s question to Pastor Adeboye is pivotal: “Whose church is it?” Every burden you carry—your family, career, ministry, health—ultimately belongs to God. You are a steward, not the owner. The owner assumes full responsibility.

2. Perform the Deliberate Act of Casting:
“Casting” (1 Peter 5:7) is not a passive hope; it is an active verb. It is the conscious decision to take the anxiety from your mind and hand it over to God in prayer. It is saying, “Lord, this is Your problem now. I transfer it to You.”

3. Seek First the Kingdom:
Jesus provides the positive alternative to worry: proactive pursuit of God’s agenda (Matthew 6:33). Instead of focusing on what might go wrong, focus on obeying God, serving others, and advancing His kingdom today. The promised result is that your needs will be met as a divine byproduct.

4. Live One Day at a Time:
God’s grace, provision, and strength are dispensed daily, not in a lump sum for the future (Lamentations 3:22-23). Trying to bear tomorrow’s burdens with today’s grace is a recipe for collapse. Trust that God will supply the grace you need when you need it.

The Blessings of a Care-Free Life

• Supernatural Peace: The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:6-7).
• Renewed Strength: Energy once wasted on worry is redirected into productive faith and action.
• Clear Focus: You are freed to excel in today’s assignments without the paralyzing fear of tomorrow.
• Divine Provision: As you seek God first, He faithfully adds all you need.

Conclusion: Exchange Your Burden for His Rest

Pray this:
“Heavenly Father, I confess the sin of worry. I have carried burdens that belong to You alone. Right now, I cast all my care upon You—my anxieties about [mention specific concerns], my future, and my needs. I release them into Your capable hands. I trust that You care for me. Help me to seek first Your kingdom today and to rest in the assurance that You will provide all I need tomorrow, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Action Steps:

1. Identify Your Worry: Write down the specific things you are anxious about.
2. Prayer of Release: Literally pray over each item on your list, verbally casting it upon the Lord.
3. Scripture Meditation: Memorize and meditate on 1 Peter 5:7 and Matthew 6:33-34. Speak them when anxiety arises.
4. Obedient Action: Choose one thing you can do today to actively seek God’s kingdom (e.g., pray, serve, give, share the gospel) instead of worrying about tomorrow.

Remember: Worry is choosing to bear today what God has promised to carry for you. Your future is safest in His hands. Let today’s troubles be enough for today.

TOPIC: HANDLING THREATS

READ: 2 Chronicles 20:1-30:
1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 13 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In Acts 4:1-31, the apostles were threatened by the chief priests and elders not to speak in the name of Jesus again. However, they gathered together to pray, and as they prayed, the place where they were gathered was shaken, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

The devil is a bully, and like all bullies, he does not like being confronted. If someone threatens you for doing the will of God, that is not the time to start fidgeting or hiding; that is the time to pray.

In today’s Bible reading, three great enemy nations came to threaten Jehoshaphat, and he was terrified. He felt threatened by the size of the enemies, and this led him to seek God. As Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah fasted and prayed, God gave them the strategy that would destroy their enemies – praise. As Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah began to sing and praise the Lord, He set the enemies against one another, and those who had previously been united against Judah suddenly turned against themselves and began to kill one another.

For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. 2 Chronicles 20:23

God silenced the threats of the enemies without Jehoshaphat having to lift a sword. In the name above every other name, my Daddy will arise to silence every threat of the enemy against your life and destiny, in Jesus’ name.

Some years ago, a woman came running to me, shaking badly. Her daughter was pregnant, and her enemies had come to threaten her, saying, “Your daughter is pregnant? We will see where she will deliver – whether on the ground or in the air. We will use every diabolical means to ensure she never gives birth.” The woman was frightened, and I said to her, “Fear not! Your daughter will deliver safely.” She asked, “How do you know?” I replied, “Because the Lord of Hosts will fight for you.” Indeed, the Lord fought for her, and she delivered safely.

Beloved, I know a God who is stronger than the strongest. He can handle every threat that comes your way. When the enemy threatens you, do not be afraid. Instead, put your trust in God because greater is He that is in you than he that in the world (1 John 4:4).

PRAYER POINT

Father, please arise and silence every threat of the enemy against my family and destiny, in Jesus’ name.

MEMORISE: Isaiah 41:11
“Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.”
This is God’s unequivocal promise to His children facing opposition. It declares the ultimate fate of every enemy: shame, confusion, and total annihilation. Your adversaries are not just defeated; they are rendered nonexistent before the Lord of Hosts.

BIBLE READING: 2 Chronicles 20:1-30
This passage is the master blueprint for responding to threats:
v. 3-4: The First Response: Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast.
v. 12: The Prayer of Helplessness: “For we have no might… neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.”
v. 15, 17: The Divine Strategy: “The battle is not yours, but God’s… Ye shall not need to fight in this battle.”
v. 21-22: The Weapon: Appoint singers to praise the LORD… and watch the Lord Himself instigate confusion in the enemy’s camp.

The Divine Strategy Against Every Threat

Pastor E.A. Adeboye delivers a powerful message on the believer’s victorious response to intimidation and threats. The devil is a bully whose primary weapon is fear, but God has given us a strategy that turns every threat into a testimony of His supreme power.

The Nature of the Threat

Threats are designed to:

• Paralyze with Fear: As with Jehoshaphat, the initial reaction is often terror (2 Chronicles 20:3).
• Silence Your Witness: As with the apostles, the goal is to stop the proclamation of the gospel (Acts 4:17-18).
• Destroy Faith: The enemy aims to make you doubt God’s promise and power, as with the woman whose daughter was threatened.

The Proven Strategy for Victory

1. Acknowledge Your Fear to God:
Jehoshaphat did not pretend he wasn’t afraid. He took his fear directly to God. Honesty in prayer is the first step to overcoming fear.

2. Proclaim a Fast and Seek the Lord:
Fasting is the spiritual act of declaring that this threat is more important than physical food. It sharpens your spiritual senses to receive God’s strategy.

3. Shift the Burden to God:
Pray the prayer of helplessness: “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You” (2 Chronicles 20:12). This transfers the responsibility of the battle from your shoulders to God’s.

4. Receive and Believe God’s Promise:
God’s response is always a promise of deliverance. Believe it like the apostles who, after praying, were filled with boldness (Acts 4:31).

5. Deploy the Weapon of Praise:
God’s strategy is often counterintuitive: send the worship team first! Praise is a weapon of spiritual warfare that confuses the enemy and activates angelic assistance (2 Chronicles 20:22). It is the victory lap you take before the battle is even over.

6. Stand Still and See the Salvation of the Lord:
(2 Chronicles 20:17). Your role is to trust and obey, not to strive. God will fight for you, often by making the enemy turn on themselves.

The Assurance of Victory

• Greater is He: The indwelling Holy Spirit is greater than any external threat (1 John 4:4).
• The Lord of Hosts is Your Defender: The same God who commanded the apostles’ release and destroyed Jehoshaphat’s enemies without a fight is on your side.
• The Enemy’s Threat is His Death Warrant: Every word spoken against you will be used to condemn the speaker (Isaiah 54:17).

Conclusion: From Threat to Testimony

Pray this:
“Lord God of Hosts, I bring the threats of the enemy against my life, family, and destiny before You. I declare my total dependence on You. I shift the burden of this battle onto Your shoulders. I receive Your promise that all who strive with me shall perish. I deploy the weapon of praise against every intimidation. I stand still now and watch You fight for me, turning my fear into faith and my threat into a great testimony, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.”

Action Steps:

1. Identify the Threat: Clearly define what or who is threatening your peace or progress.
2. Proclaim a Fast: Dedicate a meal or a day to fast and seek God’s face specifically concerning this issue.
3. Scripture Arsenal: Memorize and confess Isaiah 41:11, 2 Chronicles 20:15, and 1 John 4:4 daily.
4. Praise Warfare: Create a playlist of worship songs and spend time praising God specifically for the victory He has promised.

Remember: The battle is not yours; it is the Lord’s. Your response to a threat should never be fear, but faith-fueled prayer and praise. Your testimony will be: “I didn’t fight; I just prayed and praised, and the Lord Himself silenced my enemies.”

“Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing…” (Isaiah 41:11). This is your guaranteed outcome.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 12 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Elijah was a man who experienced the help of the Holy Spirit to rise above human limitations. In a time of grievous famine, he enjoyed good food and water (1 Kings 17:3-6). While others were dying of hunger, he enjoyed supernatural provisions throughout the famine. When you have an encounter with the Holy Spirit, you will receive divine instructions that will keep you from experiencing some hardships that other people experience. In times of famine, you will be satisfied, and you will not be ashamed in the evil time (Psalm 37:19).

In 1 Kings 18:44-46, when the Lord sent rain to Israel, Elijah outran the chariot of the king of Israel. Kings always have the best and fastest chariots and horses in the land, yet Elijah outran the best of the best because the Holy Spirit was upon him. I pray in the name above every other name that the hand of the Lord will rest upon you, and you will begin to live above natural limitations.

Ignorance is one of the worst limitations any human being can face. A lot of times, people do not recognise the resources that can save and deliver them, even when they are under their noses. This puts a lot of people under very terrible limitations. Ephesians 4:18 likens ignorance to darkness and blindness.

In this Scripture, Paul said that some people have their understanding darkened and are alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them because of the blindness of their hearts. When people who can see are in darkness, there is still hope that when light comes, they will see the things that surround them. However, when people who are blind are in darkness, that is another level of darkness altogether.

Ignorance limits people and keeps them from seeing what God has made available to them. In today’s Bible reading, Hagar experienced this kind of limitation until God opened her eyes. When your spiritual eyes are open, you will rise above the limitations that keep others down.

Beloved, you must soak yourself in the word of God so that your spiritual eyes can be open. When you engage with God’s word daily, it will brighten your path and give you the understanding required to journey through life successfully (Psalm 119:105).

I pray that the Lord will open your eyes to see the solutions He has provided to your challenges and remove every veil of ignorance that limits you from enjoying His fullness today, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINT

Dear Lord, please open my eyes to see the abundant resources You have made available to me, in Jesus’ name.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 12 OCTOBER 2025 COMMENTARY

MEMORISE: Genesis 21:19
“And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.”
This verse captures the moment divine revelation dissolves human limitation. The well existed all along, but Hagar’s perception was clouded by despair and ignorance. God’s intervention opened her eyes to the provision that was already within her reach.

BIBLE READING: Genesis 21:13-19
This passage is a powerful typology of spiritual blindness and revelation:
v. 14-16: The Problem: Hagar, in her distress and hopelessness, could not see the solution (the well) nearby. She was limited by her perception.
v. 17: The Prayer: God heard the voice of the lad and called out to Hagar.
v. 19: The Breakthrough: God opened her eyes, and she saw the provision that had always been there. Her limitation was broken.

Rising Above Limitation Through Divine Insight

Pastor E.A. Adeboye teaches that the greatest limitations we face are often not external but internal—primarily the limitation of ignorance. Using the examples of Elijah and Hagar, he demonstrates that the Holy Spirit, through the Word, provides supernatural insight and ability that lifts the believer above natural constraints.

The Twofold Ministry of the Holy Spirit Against Limitation

• The Holy Spirit Provides Supernatural Sustenance (1 Kings 17:3-6):
  While a nation suffered lack, Elijah enjoyed abundance because he obeyed the divine instruction given by the Spirit. The Spirit gives strategic guidance that bypasses systemic crises and places you in a place of provision.
• The Holy Spirit Imparts Supernatural Ability (1 Kings 18:46):
  Elijah outran a chariot, defying natural human limitations. The “hand of the Lord” upon him represents the anointing of the Spirit that empowers a believer to perform beyond natural capacity, be it in business, ministry, academics, or health.

The Greatest Limitation: Ignorance

Ephesians 4:18 describes ignorance as a state of spiritual blindness and darkness that alienates from the life of God. It is not a lack of information but a lack of revelation—the inability to perceive and appropriate the resources God has already provided in Christ.

• Hagar’s Ignorance (Genesis 21:19): The well of water was present, but her eyes were holden. Many believers are dying of thirst spiritually, emotionally, and financially, unaware of the “wells” of provision, promise, and power God has already placed within their reach.
• The Consequence: Ignorance breeds despair, shame, and a sense of abandonment, as seen with Hagar. It causes you to focus on the problem (the crying child) instead of the solution (the well).

How to Break the Limitation of Ignorance

1. Soak Yourself in the Word of God (Psalm 119:105):
The Word of God is a lamp and a light. It illuminates your path, revealing obstacles and opportunities. Consistent engagement with Scripture is the primary way God opens our eyes to His provisions and promises.

2. Pray for Revelation (Ephesians 1:17-18):
Follow the Apostle Paul’s prayer. Ask specifically that the “Father of glory” would give you “the spirit of wisdom and revelation” in the knowledge of Him, that the “eyes of your understanding” would be enlightened.

3. Obey Divine Instructions:
Elijah’s provision was tied to his obedience to go to the Brook Cherith (1 Kings 17:3). Often, the key that unlocks provision is obedience to a specific word from God, even if it seems illogical.

4. Depend on the Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is your Teacher and Guide (John 14:26). Rely on Him to lead you into all truth and to show you things to come (John 16:13). Cultivate a sensitivity to His promptings.

The Result of Liberating Revelation

When God opens your eyes:

• You see solutions where others see problems.
• You find provision in the place of need.
• You operate with wisdom that confounds the world.
• You live above the limitations that bind others.

Conclusion: Receive Sight for Your Provision

Pray this:
“Father of glory, I ask today for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Open the eyes of my heart, Lord! Dissolve every veil of ignorance and limitation from my mind. Show me the wells of salvation, provision, and power You have already placed in my life. Help me to soak in Your Word and obey Your voice, that I may live like Elijah—sustained and empowered by Your Spirit, far above all natural limitations, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Action Steps:

1. Identify an Area of Limitation: Where do you feel stuck, hopeless, or in lack? Write it down.
2. Scripture Search: Find 3-5 promises in God’s Word that address that specific area.
3. Pray for Revelation: Pray those scriptures back to God, asking Him to open your eyes to see how they manifest in your life.
4. Obey Promptly: Act immediately on any instruction the Holy Spirit gives you concerning your situation.

Remember: Your provision is already nearby. Your breakthrough is within reach. The same God who opened Hagar’s eyes will open yours to see the solution He has already provided.

“And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water…” (Genesis 21:19). Your moment of sight is coming.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 11 OCTOBER 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In Matthew 15:21-28, when a Canaanite woman came to Jesus to ask Him to deliver her daughter from a demon, she came worshipping. I believe that her genuine worship and faith in Jesus Christ helped her obtain the miracle she requested.

In today’s Bible reading, a leper came to Jesus and worshipped Him. Jesus touched him and spoke healing to him; his worship attracted a physical touch from Jesus. The man’s condition was hopeless until he met Jesus and worshipped Him. He bowed down as a leper to worship Jesus; however, by the time he finished worshipping and got up, he had been made whole. Your worship will make you a candidate for God’s personal touch, and when God touches a fellow, his or her life is transformed positively.

Jesus said in John 4:23:
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

God is not seeking part-time worshippers; rather, he is seeking those who will make worship their lifestyle. He wants those who will keep breaking their alabaster box and pouring their sweet fragrance of worship upon Him (Mark 14:3).

When you worship God, you should put all your attention on Him. It is not about what you can get from Him; it is about who He is. When you make God the centre of your life and delight yourself in Him in the place of worship, He will not withhold anything from you.

I have always told my children that everyone else may see miracles happening around them, but worshippers always experience miracles in their lives. When you are a worshipper, the testimonies you read of in the Scriptures and hear about will become your daily experience.

Whenever a true worshipper prays, God is always quick to answer. When you worship, demons flee from you because they cannot dare to stay in a place where God is. This is the explanation for what happened in 1 Samuel 16:23:
And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

Beloved, live a holy life and spend quality time worshipping God daily for who He is and not just for what you want to gain from Him. When this becomes your lifestyle, you will see Him perform mighty wonders in your life.

The Nature of True Worship

• Worship is God-Centered: True worship is not about our needs but about God’s worthiness. It focuses on “who He is,” not “what we can get.” The Canaanite woman (Matthew 15:22) and the leper began by acknowledging Christ’s lordship and power.
• Worship is in Spirit and Truth (John 4:23): It transcends ritual; it is a genuine encounter from the heart, aligned with the truth of God’s Word. It is an expression of love, adoration, and reverence for God’s nature and character.
• Worship is a Lifestyle: God seeks full-time worshippers, not occasional participants. It is a continuous attitude of the heart that manifests in praise, obedience, and the offering of our lives as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1).

The Miraculous Outcomes of Worship

1. It Attracts God’s Personal Touch:
The leper’s worship moved Jesus to do the unthinkable—touch an untouchable. Worship breaks through barriers and positions you for a divine encounter that changes everything. God’s touch brings healing, deliverance, and transformation.

2. It Makes You a Miracle Magnet:
While others see miracles, worshippers experience them personally. A lifestyle of worship ensures that the testimaries you hear about become your daily reality because you constantly dwell in the environment (God’s presence) where miracles are natural.

3. It Guarantees Answered Prayer:
When worship precedes petition, it aligns your heart with God’s will and demonstrates faith in His character. It ushers you into the throne room with confidence, making God quick to answer (Hebrews 4:16).

4. It Releases Deliverance and Freedom:
Demons cannot operate in the atmosphere of pure worship. As David’s worship drove the evil spirit from Saul (1 Samuel 16:23), your worship creates a territory of light that forces darkness to flee. It brings refreshment and wellness to tormented souls.

5. It Triggers Divine Provision:
When you delight yourself in the Lord in the place of worship, He places His desires in your heart and fulfills them (Psalm 37:4). He withholds no good thing from those who walk uprightly and seek Him (Psalm 84:11).

How to Cultivate a Lifestyle of Worship

1. Make God Your Focus:
Begin every prayer and day with worship. Magnify His names, attributes, and past faithfulness before presenting your requests.

2. Offer Your Body as a Living Sacrifice:
Let your entire life—your work, relationships, and choices—be an act of worship offered to God (Romans 12:1).

3. Be a Truth-Based Worshipper:
Fill your heart with God’s Word so your worship is rooted in the truth of who He is and what He has done.

4. Worship Through the Storm:
Like Paul and Silas in prison (Acts 16:25), choose to worship in difficult circumstances. This confuses the enemy and invites God’s miraculous intervention.

Warning: The Danger of Performance Worship
Worship that is self-seeking, hypocritical, or designed for public approval is an offense to God (Matthew 15:8-9). God judges the heart, not the outward display.

Conclusion: Become the Worshipper God Seeks

Pray this:
“Father, I come to You today in spirit and in truth. I worship You for who You are—my Creator, Redeemer, and King. Forgive me for making my needs the focus of my praise. I offer my life as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto You. Draw me into deeper intimacy through worship, and let my life become a continuous fragrance of praise to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Action Steps:

1. Daily Worship Session: Dedicate at least 15 minutes each day to worship God with music and Scripture, focusing solely on His character.
2. Worship First: Before you present your prayer requests, spend time in adoration and thanksgiving.
3. Study the Names of God: Learn His names (e.g., Jehovah-Rapha, Jehovah-Jireh) and worship Him specifically using them.
4. Obey Promptly: View every act of obedience as an act of worship.

Remember: God is seeking true worshippers. When you make worship your lifestyle, you position yourself for continuous miracles, divine touch, and unparalleled intimacy with the Father.
