    TOPIC: COVENANT PARTNERSHIP WITH GOD

    MEMORISE:

And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:
    2 Chronicles 6:14

    READ: 2 Kings 4:8-37

8 And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.
9 And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.
10 Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.
11 And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.
12 And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.
13 And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what is to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.
14 And he said, What then is to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.
15 And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.

16 And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, thou man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.
17 And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.
18 And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.
19 And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.
20 And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.

21 And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.
22 And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.
23 And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.
24 Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee.
25 So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:

26 Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well:
27 And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the Lord hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.
28 Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?
29 Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.
30 And the mother of the child said, As the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.

31 And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.
32 And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, and laid upon his bed.
33 He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the Lord.
34 And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.
35 Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.
36 And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.
37 Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 29 JUNE 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In today’s Bible reading, the Shunamite woman sowed into Elisha’s life continuously until he was inspired to find out what he could give her in return. Eventually, she got a blessing that transformed her life. I learnt from this story that if you bless a genuine man of God, you have entered into a covenant partnership with God, and you won’t have to pray about some of your needs before God meets them.

We have a group in RCCG called Covenant Partners. These are people who quietly lift up my hands financially. I meet with them once every year, and at one particular meeting, I was led by the Holy Spirit to say, “Those of you who have been lifting up my hands, if there is any of you in debt, God will pay your debt.” One man among them shouted “Amen” loudly.

He was about 50 years old and was heavily in debt. The following week, the bank that he owed called him to meet the Managing Director. The MD asked him, “Sir, how are you going to pay off this debt? Give us a plan so we know what to work with.” He looked at the MD and said, “Even if I pay you a million naira for every day that I have lived, I can’t finish paying this debt.” To his surprise, the bank later informed him that the loan had been written off. I pray that my Father, who owns the cattle upon a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), will do exceeding abundantly above your wildest imaginations, in Jesus’ name.

Abraham understood covenant partnership with God. After he went to war against the five kings who fought against Sodom and Gomorrah and conquered them, he gave Melchizedek, the priest of the Most High God, the tithes of all (Genesis 14:18-20). This covenant partnership shifted Abraham into an unprecedented realm of abundance such that when he was old, the Bible said God had blessed him in all things (Genesis 24:1).

Joshua’s service to Moses positioned him as God’s choice to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land (Exodus 33:11, Joshua 1:1-2).

Also, Elisha’s service to Elijah made him a candidate for a double portion of the anointing (2 Kings 2:1-15).

Beloved, God wants you to come into a covenant partnership with Him through the genuine spiritual leaders He has placed over you. Honour them by giving to them and supporting them, and like the great woman of Shunem, God will meet your needs even before you ask Him.

The Power of Covenant Partnership in God’s Kingdom

This devotional reveals a profound spiritual principle – when we sow into the lives of genuine servants of God, we enter into a divine covenant partnership that attracts supernatural blessings. The Shunammite woman’s story demonstrates how practical support for God’s prophet unlocked extraordinary miracles in her life.

    1. The Shunammite Woman’s Covenant Act

Her actions model perfect covenant partnership:

    1. Consistent Giving
      • “She constrained him to eat bread” regularly (v.8)
      • Not one-time support but sustained investment
    2. Thoughtful Provision
      • Built “a little chamber” for Elisha (v.10)
      • Went beyond basic needs to create comfort
    3. Expectant Heart
      • Asked “nothing in return” initially (v.13)
      • Her generosity wasn’t transactional but worshipful

    2. The Dynamics of Divine Covenant

    1. Reciprocal Principle
      • “Give, and it shall be given unto you” (Luke 6:38)
      • Elisha sought how to repay her kindness (v.13)
    2. Supernatural Compensation
      • Barrenness broken (v.16-17)
      • Dead son resurrected (v.34-35)
      • Land restored (2 Kings 8:1-6)
    3. Generational Impact
      • Her story remains a biblical standard
      • Continues inspiring believers centuries later

    Entering Your Covenant Blessings

    Practical Steps to Covenant Partnership

    1. Identify Genuine Men of God
      • Those bearing spiritual fruit (Matthew 7:16)

    TOPIC: COMMANDING YOUR MIRACLE

    MEMORISE:

His mother said unto the servants, Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it.
    John 2:5

    READ: John 2:1-12

1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 28 JUNE 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Today’s Bible reading tells us the story of the wedding in Cana of Galilee. When wine finished at the wedding, Mary informed Jesus about it, expecting Him to provide a solution.

However, Jesus replied that His time had not yet come. Mary must have smiled and said to herself, “Son, your time will come tonight.” She told the men confidently, “Do whatever He asks you to do,” and before the end of the day, ‘not yet’ became ‘now’

You can also command a miracle from God. You can pray in such a way that you will know that God has heard and your miracle is on the way. Jabez was a man who prayed such a prayer. For many years, he was labelled as a cause of pain and sorrow until he said, “Enough is enough.” He called on God to turn his situation around, and He granted his request.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
    1 Chronicles 4:10

We don’t know how long Jabez prayed for, but we know the result of his prayer: God turned his story around. In the name above every other name, whatever you have long waited for will come speedily.

To command your miracle, you must know how to engage in fervent prayers and be persistent with them. James said that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16). During a Holy Ghost Service at Redemption City, I waved my hands as I stood on the altar, and miracles started happening.

It is possible for some pastors who saw that happen to wonder, “Why can’t I also wave and have miracles happen? I serve the same God this man serves; I also pray and fast regularly.” However, they may not know that before that day, I had been praying that miracles should happen just at the wave of my hands for about fifteen years. Some of the things people see happening now in RCCG are the result of my persistence with God in the place of prayers.

Beloved, don’t be tired of waiting on God. Command your miracles by remaining persistent in the place of prayer. As you pray, take heed to the Holy Spirit’s instructions.

Obey them, and you will receive your miracle before long.

    PRAYER POINT:

Father, please help me to remain persistent in the place of prayer, in Jesus’ name.

The Dynamics of Commanding Your Miracle

This devotional reveals powerful principles about activating divine intervention through persistent faith and obedience. The account of Jesus’ first miracle at Cana provides a template for how believers can position themselves for supernatural breakthroughs.

    1. The Catalyst for Miracles: Divine Intercession

Mary’s intervention demonstrates three crucial elements:

    1. Recognition of Need
      • She noticed the wine shortage (v.3)
      • Spiritual sensitivity precedes miracles
    2. Confident Appeal
      • Brought the need to Jesus expectantly
      • No formal prayer, just relational request
    3. Persistent Faith
      • Jesus’ “not yet” didn’t deter her (v.4)
      • Prepared servants for obedience

    2. The Process of Manifestation

The miracle required human cooperation with divine instruction:

    1. Obedience Without Understanding
      • Servants filled jars with water (v.7)
      • No logical connection to wine production
    2. Complete Compliance
      • Filled “to the brim” (v.7)
      • No half measures in faith
    3. Immediate Execution
      • “Draw out now” (v.8)
      • Faith acts before seeing results

    3. The Jabez Principle of Commanding Breakthroughs

    1 Chronicles 4:10 reveals:

    1. Audacious Request
      • “Bless me indeed” – no small thinking
      • “Enlarge my coast” – territorial increase
    2. Comprehensive Coverage
      • Divine presence (“hand with me”)
      • Divine protection (“keep from evil”)
    3. Guaranteed Outcome
      • “God granted his request”
      • Specific prayers get specific answers

    The Power of Persistent Prayer

    Building Miracle Capacity

    Pastor Adeboye’s testimony shows:

    1. Long-Term Investment
      • 15 years praying for wave-of-hand miracles
      • Spiritual authority is cultivated
    2. Consistent Discipline
      • Regular prayer and fasting
      • Deeper communion with God
    3. Obedience to Promptings
      • Acting on Holy Spirit instructions
      • Creating channels for miracles

    Keys to Effective Miracle Prayers

    1. Righteous Foundation (James 5:16)
      • Clean hands and pure heart
    2. Fervent Intensity
      • “Effectual fervent prayer”
      • Passionate spiritual engagement
    3. Expectant Faith
      • Believing before seeing (Mark 11:24)
      • Acting in anticipation

Practical Steps to Command Your Miracle

    1. Identify Your Need Specifically

    • Wine shortage at Cana
    • Jabez’s fourfold request
    • Avoid vague prayers

    2. Position Yourself in Obedience

    • Mary’s instruction to servants
    • Fill your “jars” completely
    • Prepare for manifestation

    3. Persist Beyond “Not Yet”

    • Continue praying like the widow (Luke 18:1-8)
    • Build spiritual capacity through consistency
    • Don’t abandon your prayer project

    4. Activate Through Declaration

    • Speak to your mountain (Mark 11:23)
    • Command your breakthrough
    • Release your faith verbally

    Prayer for Miracle Activation

“Father of miracles, I come before You today with specific needs just as Mary and Jabez did. Give me courage to persist beyond ‘not yet’ moments. Fill me with obedient faith to follow Your instructions completely. Let my prayers shift atmospheres and command breakthroughs. As I wait on You, renew my strength and assurance that my miracle is on the way. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.”

    Living in Expectation of Miracles

    1. Maintain Spiritual Sensitivity
      • Recognize divine moments
    2. Develop Prayer Stamina
      • Build your miracle account daily
    3. Obey Promptly
      • When God says “fill the jars,” act immediately
    4. Testify of Breakthroughs
      • Share what God has done
      • Encourage others’ faith

    Key Takeaways:

    • Miracles often follow persistent intercession
    • Human obedience activates divine power
    • Specific prayers receive specific answers
    • Spiritual authority is developed over time

    MEMORISE:

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
    Psalms 91:1

    READ: Psalms 91:1-16

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
    5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
    9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 27 JUNE 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

When a fellow or organisation is under an insurance cover, the insurance company must ensure that such a fellow or organisation is duly compensated for any losses that have been provided for under the insurance cover. However, unlike insurance covers, God’s cover is absolute because it totally prevents evil from happening.

Everyone is under God’s general cover, whether they are born again or not. In Matthew 5:45, the Bible says that God makes the sun to rise on the evil and the good and the rain to fall on the just and the unjust. If unbelievers are not under God’s general cover, they wouldn’t even be able to breathe. When unbelievers receive a miracle, it is always on credit, and it is a sign that God loves them and wants to be their Father.

There are, however, some special covers that are for God’s children only. For example, Jesus said in Mark 7:27 that healing is the children’s bread. Likewise, protection against evil forces can only happen when a fellow is in Jesus’ camp. Colossians 1:13 says that God has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. If anyone really wants to live under the special cover of the Almighty God, He or she must be His child indeed.

As with insurance companies, believers must pay a premium to abide under God’s cover. Anyone who subscribes to an insurance package must pay his or her dues regularly to have access to the full benefits. For example, if someone subscribes to a car insurance plan and opts for a monthly payment plan but pays only once a year, such a person will not enjoy the benefits of the policy if the car becomes damaged. To fully enjoy the benefits of insurance, subscribers must fulfil their part.

Beloved, your access to God’s special cover is an intimate relationship with Him. This means that you must study your Bible and pray daily, fellowship with other brethren, and serve God wholeheartedly. Many Christians have fallen victim to the devil because they lost their spiritual sensitivity after staying far from God for a long time. It is in your constant fellowship with God that you remain under His special cover. Are you abiding in His secret place, or have you been going in and out? If you want to enjoy the full benefits of being under God’s cover, you must constantly remain in His presence.

    REFLECTION:

Have you been dwelling in the secret place of the Most High?

    Understanding God’s Comprehensive Protection Plan

This devotional presents a powerful analogy comparing God’s protection to insurance coverage, revealing two levels of divine covering:

    1. God’s General Cover (Common Grace)

    • Universal Coverage:
      • Sun and rain for all (Matthew 5:45)
      • Breath of life sustained (Acts 17:25)
    • Purpose:
      • Demonstrates God’s patience (2 Peter 3:9)
      • Miracles serve as divine invitations (Acts 14:17)
    • Limitations:
      • Temporary benefits “on credit”
      • No protection from eternal consequences

    2. God’s Special Cover (Covenant Protection)

    • Exclusive Benefits:
      • Healing as children’s bread (Mark 7:27)
      • Deliverance from darkness (Colossians 1:13)
      • Angelic guardianship (Psalm 91:11)
    • Activation Requirements:
      • Born-again status (John 3:3)
      • Continual abiding (John 15:4)

    The Premium for Divine Coverage

    Spiritual Premium Payments

    1. Daily Bible Study
      • Policy terms renewal (Joshua 1:8)
      • Wisdom for claim processing
    2. Persistent Prayer
      • Premium remittance (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
      • Emergency helpline access
    3. Christian Fellowship
      • Group coverage benefits (Hebrews 10:25)
      • Early warning system
    4. Wholehearted Service
      • Policy upgrades (Matthew 6:33)
      • Comprehensive protection package

TOPIC: THE SOURCE OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE

    MEMORISE:

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
    Proverbs 2:6

    READ: Isaiah 33:5-6

5 The Lord is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.
6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 26 JUNE 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Wisdom and knowledge are very important in the life of every human being. They are so important that Proverbs 4:7 says:
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Wisdom is the correct application of knowledge. If you have everything in this world and also have vast knowledge about many things but fail to apply the knowledge correctly, you are still in lack.

    Hosea 4:6 says:
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

The Scripture above tells us that God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; that is how important wisdom and knowledge are.

The question now is, how can you get wisdom and knowledge? To answer this question, we should first and foremost identify the source of wisdom and knowledge. Daniel 2:20 tells us that wisdom and might belong to God. James 1:5 also tells us that God is the One who gives wisdom, while Colossians 2:3 says wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Him. God is clearly the only source of wisdom; He is the only wise God (1 Timothy 1:17).

During my postgraduate studies at the University of Lagos, my research supervisor travelled out of the country for a while. Before he travelled, he gave me a very difficult assignment. By the time he came back and saw how much progress I had made within the short period he was away, he looked at me and said, “Enoch, I know you’re a Christian, and you won’t lie to me. What I am seeing could not have been done by you alone, so tell me, who helped you?” Even though my supervisor knew that Christians do not lie, he was Hindu and didn’t believe in Jesus Christ. Hence, if I had told him that Jesus Christ helped me, he wasn’t going to take me seriously. So, I said to him, “Professor Emmanuel helped me.” However, I got into trouble when he asked, “Professor Emmanuel? Of which department?”

The best professors in the world are only experts in a few disciplines because man is limited in wisdom and knowledge. However, God knows all academic subjects and everything else in the world. When you partner with Him, He will grant you access to unusual depths of wisdom and knowledge that will help you live an excellent life.

    KEY POINT:

When you connect and partner with God, you will have access to unusual wisdom and knowledge

The Supreme Value of Divine Wisdom

This devotional presents wisdom as the foundational requirement for successful living. Unlike worldly knowledge that merely accumulates facts, true wisdom represents the divine ability to rightly apply knowledge according to God’s perfect will. The text establishes that:

    1. Wisdom is non-negotiable (Proverbs 4:7)
      • More valuable than material wealth
      • The principal thing in life’s pursuits
    2. Lack leads to destruction (Hosea 4:6)
      • Spiritual famine comes from rejecting God’s knowledge
      • Impacts both present and future generations
    3. Divine in origin (Daniel 2:20)
      • All true wisdom originates from God
      • Human wisdom remains limited and flawed

The Divine Source of All Wisdom

God as the Fountainhead of Wisdom

    1. The Giver (James 1:5)
      • Freely gives to those who ask in faith
      • No partiality in His distribution
    2. The Repository (Colossians 2:3)
      • All treasures of wisdom hidden in Christ
      • Accessible through relationship
    3. The Personification (1 Corinthians 1:24)
      • Christ Himself is God’s wisdom
      • The living embodiment of divine knowledge

    Human Limitations vs. Divine Omniscience

    Pastor Adeboye’s testimony reveals:

    • Even brilliant professors have limited knowledge
    • Academic expertise remains confined to narrow fields
    • God’s wisdom encompasses all disciplines perfectly

    Accessing Divine Wisdom

    Practical Pathways to Wisdom

    1. Through Scripture (Psalm 119:98-100)

      • Provides understanding beyond years
    2. Through Prayer (1 Kings 3:9)
      • Solomon’s request for discernment
      • James’ instruction to ask in faith
    3. Through the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:10-12)
      • The Holy Spirit reveals deep things
      • Imparts the mind of Christ
    4. Through Godly Counsel (Proverbs 11:14)
      • Wisdom multiplied in multitude of counselors
      • Protection from narrow perspectives

    The Evidence of Divine Wisdom

    Supernatural Advantage in Daily Life

    1. Academic Excellence

    Prayer for Divine Wisdom

“Heavenly Father, fountain of all wisdom, I acknowledge my need for Your understanding today. Grant me wisdom that excels human learning. Open my heart to receive knowledge from Your Word. Let Your Spirit guide me into all truth. May my life demonstrate the excellence of Your wisdom, bringing glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Living Wisely in a Foolish World

    1. Prioritize Wisdom Above All
      • Seek it more than silver or gold
    2. Walk in Humility
      • Acknowledge dependence on God
    3. Apply Knowledge Righteously

Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
    Isaiah 8:12-13

    READ: Psalms 112:1-10

1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 25 JUNE 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Some people are afraid of witches, wizards, and other forces of darkness. Some other people are afraid of their bosses, some are afraid of failure, and some are even afraid of success. There are even some people who are afraid of their own shadows! I know that many people, situations, or even objects can indeed seem fearsome; however, you must understand that 2 Timothy 1:7 says:
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

God is the only being in the entire universe that is worth fearing. Jesus said in Matthew 10:28:
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

When you are afraid of people, situations, or anything at that, you are not walking in the fullness of the freedom Jesus paid for you to have. If you are still afraid of some things, it means that you have not yet understood that Jesus has made you free indeed (John 8:36). It doesn’t matter how wealthy, intelligent, famous, or influential you are; if you are afraid, you are living in constant torment and are in bondage (1 John 4:18).

When Jesus sets anyone free, He gives the fellow all things that pertain to life and godliness; everything the fellow needs to establish his or her freedom (2 Peter 1:3). Jesus came to deliver us from the fear of death (Hebrews 2:14-15). The moment a fellow comes to Jesus Christ, he or she does not have to be afraid of death anymore.

The Bible says in Psalm 112:1: “Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.”

This Scripture clearly states that the people who fear God are blessedindeed. A fellow who fears God indeed will delight greatly in His commandments. You can’t claim to fear God and despise, disrespect, or disobey His instructions. When you fear God, you love His laws and obey them.

Beloved, there is no need to be afraid of anyone or anything; God is the only one you should fear. Trust in Him, and He will deliver you from all forms of fear. Put all your focus on God, delight in His word, obey His commandments, and He will keep you in perfect peace all the days of your life (Isaiah 26:3).

    MEMORISE:

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
    Romans 13:3

    READ: Acts 12:1-11

1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.
2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.
10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.
11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 24 JUNE 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

The Bible says clearly in today’s memory verse that if you do the right things, you should not be afraid of the government or their agencies.

For instance, when a driver becomes afraid on seeing a traffic official, it is most likely that he or she has done something critical or committed a traffic offence. If you fidget when you learn that tax officials are coming to meet you, it probably means that you have been robbing the government, and Jesus said in Matthew 22:21 that you should give to Ceasar (the government) what belongs to Ceasar.

Rather than being afraid, why not just do the right thing? Stay in the right and do good so that you will never be afraid of government officials.

In certain regions, some people are afraid of government officials, not because they are guilty of any wrongdoing, but because of racism or oppression. If a government official decides to use his or her authority to terrorise you, don’t be afraid of such a person. Rather, take the matter to God, and He will fight for you. You must, however, have built a culture of depending on God before trouble comes.

Many years ago, I heard that the military government that was ruling my country at the time was planning to arrest me because the head of the government was told by his spiritualists that my prayers were hindering their selfcentred agenda for the country.

At first, I was afraid, but that night, I handed the matter over to God, and in less than one week, the government official who wanted to kill me was dead. If you fear God and always do the right things, He will fight for you.

In Daniel 3:16, the three Hebrew boys defied the evil order of the king, and God protected them from his wrath. God protected them because they chose to fear Him and not man.

When Herod began to terrorise the church, killing James and imprisoning Peter, the Christians began to pray without ceasing.

Their prayers worked great wonders; Peter was freed miraculously on the eve of the day he was to be executed, and Herod was later eaten by worms (Acts 12:1-23).

Beloved, please stay away from anything that will put you in a position of being afraid of the government. However, if you have not done anything wrong and a government official decides to terrorise you for whatever reason, simply hand him or her over to God, and He will surely protect you.

    KEY POINT:

As long as you fear God and keep doing the right things, you don’t have to fear any other person, organisation, or government.

    2. Oppression Fear (Unjust Targeting)
      • Racism, religious persecution
      • Solution: Divine appeal (Psalm 94:16-23)

    TOPIC: ACHIEVING DREAMS

    MEMORISE:

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
    Philippians 3:14

    READ: 2 Chronicles 15:7-9

7 Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.
8 And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the Lord, that was before the porch of the Lord.
9 And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 23 JUNE 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

On the same day I graduated from the University of Ife in 1967, the then Ooni of Ife, the traditional ruler of the city, was given an honorary doctorate degree. It was a very glorious occasion, and that day, I told my closest friend, “One day, I too will get an honorary doctorate degree from this university.” He looked at me, laughed, and said, “If it’s possible to earn it by studying, I would agree with you because you’re intelligent, but you’re not qualified to be honoured. Honorary doctorate degrees are not given to every Tom, Dick, and Harry.”

What he said appeared to be true at the time because I didn’t look like someone who could be given an honorary doctorate degree. My friend and I were so ordinary that we celebrated our graduation by eating amala and ponmo, a meal made from yam flour and dry cowhide, at a motorpark. Years passed, and one day, I got a letter from the university that the council had decided to award me an honorary doctorate degree.

There is no height you cannot reach if you remain close to God and work hard towards your goals. In Genesis 37:5-10, Joseph dreamt of himself as a great ruler. At that time, even his father didn’t consider him mature enough to work with his brothers to shepherd the family’s flock (Genesis 37:12-13).

Later on in life, he found himself as a slave, and he worked hard in that role while ensuring that he did not offend God (Genesis 39:9). Before long, he went from being a prisoner to becoming the Prime Minister of a country considered the world superpower at the time.

In 1 Samuel, when Samuel went to anoint a king among the sons of Jesse, David was not even presented among his brothers initially.

However, by 2 Samuel, he was already sitting on the throne as Israel’s king. Even when his life was threatened by Saul, he did not give up or lose his focus. Some people turn every little challenge into an excuse for not being able to achieve their goals. Excuses are for failures; highflyers will use their challenges as fuel to reach their goals.

Beloved, people who fulfil their purposes and dreams are single-minded in their pursuits.

They refuse to be distracted by anything until they achieve the things they have conceived in their minds. Focus on your goals, work hard, and don’t give up. Trust in God, and He will help you to achieve your dreams

    PRAYER POINT:

Father, please help me to remain focused and connected to You as I work towards achieving the dreams You have put in my heart, in Jesus’ name.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 23 JUNE 2025 COMMENTARY

The Power of Vision and Persistence

    From Ordinary to Extraordinary

The devotional begins with Pastor Adeboye’s personal testimony of how he envisioned receiving an honorary doctorate degree despite his humble circumstances. This mirrors biblical examples where:

    • Joseph dreamed of greatness while still a shepherd boy (Genesis 37:5-10)
    • David was anointed king while tending sheep (1 Samuel 16:11-13)
    • Nehemiah envisioned rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls while in exile (Nehemiah 2:5)

These stories teach us that divine vision often comes before divine provision.

    Characteristics of Visionaries

    1. They See Beyond Current Limitations
      • Adeboye saw past his “amala and ponmo” celebration
      • Abraham saw descendants as stars while childless (Genesis 15:5)

      • Like Noah building the ark (Hebrews 11:7)
      • Like Caleb claiming mountain territory (Joshua 14:12)
    3. They Maintain Focus Through Seasons
      • Joseph remained faithful in Potiphar’s house and prison

      • Abraham’s spiritual inheritance

    Prayer for Destiny Fulfillment

“Heavenly Father, ignite in me divine vision for my destiny. Grant me Joseph’s perseverance, David’s courage, and Nehemiah’s focus. Help me to see beyond current limitations and walk faithfully through every preparation season. Silence every voice of doubt and strengthen me to overcome all obstacles. TOPIC: AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT

    MEMORISE:

Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
    Daniel 6:3

    READ: Romans 12:10-21

    10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
    11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
    12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 22 JUNE 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Daniel had an excellent spirit upon him. The Spirit of God made him so excellent that the king wanted to put him in charge of the affairs of the entire kingdom (Daniel 6:1-3). Nobody in the whole kingdom could be compared to Daniel. He left the mark of God’s presence and wisdom everywhere he went.

While it is good to register for courses and get certifications, what makes you excel is the Holy Spirit. When the Spirit of the Lord comes upon you and overshadows you, you will become sought after by many. Instead of turning you down, many people and organisations will seek to be associated with you, and you will have to choose between them.

When we built the first RCCG auditorium near the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, it was considered the biggest auditorium in Africa at that time. Some of my children came to tell me that we didn’t need to worry anymore about space, and I laughed. Two years later, we had to expand it. A year later, we had to double the size of the auditorium, and in the year after that, we had to expand it further. We keep expanding because I can’t settle for less than what God has in store for us.

A fellow with an excellent spirit never settles for mediocrity, and I know what God has shown me. People who have an excellent spirit always want more of God. They are not satisfied with yesterday’s fellowship because God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Daniel’s excellence didn’t only show in his work and responsibilities; it also showed in his relationship with God. When the king decreed that nobody should pray to any other being apart from him, Daniel was too intimate and dedicated to God to obey that command.

Some other fellows might have said, “The command is only for thirty days; after that, I can resume my prayers,” but not Daniel. He didn’t want less of God, and this fervent pursuit made him excellent in all aspects of life.

Beloved, you can’t claim to be excellent in your work or studies if you are slothful in your service to God and your relationship with Him.

I pray that the spirit of excellence will distinguish you in every area of life, in Jesus’ name

    Understanding the Excellent Spirit

    The Nature of Divine Excellence

The devotional reveals that true excellence originates from God’s Spirit, not human achievement. Daniel’s example shows us that:

    • His excellence was recognizable (v.3 – “was preferred”)
    • It was comparative (“none like him”)
    • It was comprehensive (affected all areas of life)

This excellence wasn’t mere talent or education but the manifest presence of God upon a submitted life.

    Biblical Examples of Excellence

    1. Joseph – Excellence in prison administration (Genesis 39:22-23)
    2. Bezalel – Divine skill in craftsmanship (Exodus 31:3)
    3. Paul – Excellence in ministry (1 Corinthians 15:10)

    Cultivating the Excellent Spirit

    Through Relentless Pursuit of God

Daniel’s refusal to compromise prayer (Daniel 6:10) demonstrates:

    • Consistency in devotion
    • Courage in crisis
    • Commitment beyond convenience

    Through Rejecting Mediocrity

    The RCCG auditorium expansions illustrate:

    • Divine vision exceeds human planning
    • Growth mindset rejects stagnation
    • Faithfulness begets increase

    Through Daily Renewal

    Lamentations 3:22-23 teaches us:

    • God’s mercies are new every morning
    • Yesterday’s anointing won’t suffice today
    • Excellence requires fresh encounters

    Manifestations of Excellence

    In Professional Life

    • Supernatural wisdom (Daniel 1:20)
    • Favor with leadership (Daniel 6:3)
    • Problem-solving ability (Daniel 2:24)

    In Spiritual Life

    • Prayer consistency (Daniel 6:10)
    • Scriptural depth (Daniel 9:2)
    • Prophetic insight (Daniel 2:19)

    In Personal Character

    • Integrity (Daniel 6:4)
    • Humility (Daniel 2:30)
    • Compassion (Daniel 4:27)

    The Cost of Excellence

    Requires Sacrifice

    • Daniel risked his life to maintain prayer habits
    • Demands saying no to shortcuts
    • Involves pressing beyond comfort zones

    Attracts Opposition

    • Colleagues conspired against Daniel (6:4-5)
    • Excellence exposes mediocrity in others
    • Spiritual warfare intensifies

    Prayer for Excellence

“Father, pour upon me the spirit of excellence that rested upon Daniel. Make me a solution-provider in my generation. Let Your glory be seen in every area of my life. Destroy every spirit of complacency and ignite fresh passion for Your presence daily. May my life attract divine favor and opportunities to glorify You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

    Conclusion: Your Excellence Assignment

    1. Assess Your Current Level
      • Where do you need divine excellence?
    2. Commit to Growth
      • Reject “good enough” mentality
    3. Pursue God First
      • Excellence flows from intimacy
    4. Expect Opposition
      • Prepare for spiritual warfare
    5. Anticipate Promotion
      • Divine excellence attracts divine elevation

    Key Takeaways:

True excellence originates from God’s Spirit
    Requires daily spiritual discipline
    Manifests in all life areas
    Attracts both favor and opposition

    TOPIC: THE PRESIDENT OF PRESIDENTS

    MEMORISE:

I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do l love.
    Psalms 119:113

    READ: Daniel 2:20-23

20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
22 He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.
23 I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king’s matter.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 21 JUNE 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

In my travels around the world to preach the gospel, I have discovered that not all presidents are the same. I once visited a small country where the total number of policemen in the country was twenty. That nation is recognised by the United Nations, so when nations gather at the United Nations General Assembly, the president also shows up. However, you cannot compare that president to the president of a country that has over 40,000 policemen.

In the same way, you cannot compare Jesus to any earthly leader. He is the President of presidents (Revelations 19:16).

Daniel 4:32 says that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men. If you want doors to open to you, you should befriend President Jesus. He has a name that is above every other name, and all things in heaven, on earth, and underneath the earth should bow when His name is mentioned (Philippians 2:9-11). No matter how powerful a president is, if he or she pronounces a curfew, it will only be effective within his or her territory. However, Jesus has influence all over the world, in heaven, and even underneath the earth. You should aim to be so intimate with Him that everywhere you appear, doors will open unto you as though President Jesus Himself is the One who has appeared.

You can become intimate with God by loving His laws. David, the man after God’s heart, said, “O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day” (Psalm 119:97). When you love someone, you will always want to spend time with that person. God’s laws are His principles, and they can be found in His word. As you meditate on them and allow them to fill your heart, you will become more intimate with His person, abilities, and power.

David also said that those who love God’s law have great peace, and nothing shall offend them (Psalm 119:165). If nothing offends you, it means that nothing shakes or moves you.

President Jesus is the Prince of peace, and those who are intimate with Him will always enjoy peace no matter the situations surrounding them. No matter how terrible the economy of a nation gets, those in a president’s household are confident that they will always have something to eat. If this is true for earthly presidents, how much more with President Jesus, who presides over an unshakable kingdom and economy (Hebrews 12:28)?

    REFLECTION:

Are you intimate with the President of all presidents?

    Prayer for Presidential Intimacy

“Lord Jesus, Supreme President of heaven and earth, I seek deeper intimacy with You today. Forgive me for prioritizing earthly connections over divine fellowship. Saturate me with love for Your Word until my life radiates Your glory. Grant me favor as Your ambassador and peace as Your child. May my life demonstrate the reality of Your eternal presidency, in Your mighty name. Amen.”

TOPIC: DON’T TRY TO STEAL FROM GOD

    MEMORISE:

I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
    Isaiah 42:8

    READ: Daniel 4:1-37

1 Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
2 I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.
3 How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.
4 I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:
5 I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

6 Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.
7 Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.
8 But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,
9 O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.
10 Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.

11 The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:
12 The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
    13 I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;
14 He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:
15 Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:

16 Let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.
17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.
18 This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
19 Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.
    20 The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;

21 Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:
22 It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.
    23 And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
24 This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:
25 That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.

26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.
27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.
28 All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.
29 At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.
30 The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

31 While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
32 And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
33 The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.
34 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:
35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

36 At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.
37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 20 JUNE 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Years ago, when my Father in the Lord was alive, he sent a pastor to start a parish in Osogbo (a town in Western Nigeria). The parish began to prosper, and the pastor felt that since he planted it, he could turn it into his own ministry. He removed the signboard of The Redeemed Christian Church of God and put that of his new ministry.

When Papa heard about it, he appealed to the pastor to retrace his steps, but he refused. He said, “What do you mean? I am the pastor here. I started the work. The people are my sheep.” Papa said,

“But we ordained you, and sent you here to start the work in the name of The Redeemed Christian Church of God. More so, you are not their saviour. The church belongs to the One who saved them. It is not yours or mine.”

However, the pastor stubbornly insisted. Then, Papa said, “No problem, shall we pray?” As they prayed, a wind blew as if it was going to rain, and by the following morning, the pastor was covered in leprosy from head to toe.

When the King of kings owns something, don’t take it as yours. When you do, you are toying with fire. The pastor in the story I shared above thought he could take what belonged to God and go scot-free.

When someone has exclusive rights to something, no other person can claim ownership of that thing. God has exclusive rights to the earth, its fullness and all its inhabitants (Psalm 24:1). This means that He is in charge of the earth and oversees all that happens in it.

In Luke 12:16-20, when the man that Jesus called the rich fool talked about his soul as if he owned it, he lost his life that same night.

Just as God doesn’t share His ownership of the earth, He doesn’t share His glory. His glory belongs to Him, and anyone who tries to steal it from Him will get into big trouble.

When God does anything through you, be quick to return all the glory to Him because it does not belong to you. In today’s Bible reading,

Nebuchadnezzar attempted to attribute God’s glory to himself, and he became a beast in the forest for seven years. God touched his heart and replaced it with a beast’s heart, and all his boasting stopped.

Beloved, God is jealous about what belongs to Him.

    REFLECTION:

Have you been taking God’s glory to yourself?

HYMN 34: YIELD NOT TO TEMPTATION

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 20 JUNE 2025 COMMENTARY

    The Sacredness of Divine Ownership

This devotional presents a sobering truth about divine ownership and the consequences of appropriating God’s glory. Through a powerful testimony and biblical examples, we’re reminded that all ministry success, spiritual gifts, and earthly blessings ultimately belong to God. The message warns against the subtle temptation to claim as personal achievement what God has accomplished through us.

    1. The Testimony of Stolen Ministry

    A. The Osogbo Pastor’s Mistake

    1. The Scenario:
      • Pastor sent to plant a church in Osogbo
      • Church prospered under his leadership
      • Made the fatal error of claiming ownership
    2. The Transgression:
      • Removed RCCG signboard
      • Declared: “I am the pastor here… The people are my sheep”
      • Rejected correction from spiritual authority
    3. The Consequences:
      • Immediate divine judgment (leprosy overnight)
      • Served as a warning to all ministers

    B. Key Lessons from the Incident

    1. Ministry Belongs to Christ
      • “I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18)
      • We are merely stewards (1 Corinthians 4:1-2)
    2. Authority Structures Matter
      • Rejecting spiritual covering invites danger
      • Hebrews 13:17 principle of submission
    3. God Jealously Guards His Glory
      • The leprosy judgment mirrored:
        • Miriam’s punishment (Numbers 12:10)
        • Uzziah’s affliction (2 Chronicles 26:19)

    2. Biblical Examples of Misappropriated Glory

    A. Nebuchadnezzar’s Fall (Daniel 4)

    1. The Boast:
      • “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built… by the might of my power?” (v.30)
    2. The Judgment:
      • Lost his mind for 7 years
      • Lived like a beast
      • Hair like eagles’ feathers, nails like birds’ claws
    3. The Restoration:
      • Came only after acknowledging God’s sovereignty (v.34-37)

    B. Herod’s Fatal Acceptance of Worship (Acts 12:21-23)

    • Failed to give God glory
    • Struck by an angel and eaten by worms

    C. The Rich Fool (Luke 12:16-20)

    • Claimed ownership of his soul
    • Lost his life that very night

    3. The Theology of Divine Ownership

    A. What Belongs Exclusively to God?

    1. All Creation (Psalm 24:1)
      • “The earth is the LORD’s, and the fulness thereof”
    2. Human Lives (Ezekiel 18:4)
      • “All souls are mine”
    3. Ministry Success (1 Corinthians 3:6-7)
      • “Neither is he that planteth anything… but God that giveth the increase”
    4. Spiritual Gifts (James 1:17)
      • “Every good gift… cometh down from the Father”

    B. Why God Guards His Glory So Jealously

    1. For Our Protection
      • Pride precedes destruction (Proverbs 16:18)
    2. For Authentic Worship
      • He alone is worthy (Revelation 4:11)
    3. For Kingdom Integrity
      • Prevents personality cults in ministry

    4. Practical Ways to Guard Against Glory Theft

    A. In Ministry

    1. Always Point to Christ
      • John the Baptist’s model: “He must increase…” (John 3:30)
    2. Maintain Accountability Structures
      • Reject lone ranger mentality
    3. Regularly Examine Motives
      • “Search me, O God…” (Psalm 139:23-24)

    B. In Daily Life

    1. Receive Compliments with Humility
      • “To God be the glory” response
    2. Journal God’s Interventions
      • Creates a record of divine faithfulness
    3. Practice Secret Giving
      • Matthew 6:1-4 principle

    C. When Tempted to Boast

    1. Remember Your Former State
      • “Such were some of you…” (1 Corinthians 6:11)
    2. Acknowledge God’s Grace
      • “By the grace of God I am what I am” (1 Corinthians 15:10)
    3. Recall Judgment Examples
      • Nebuchadnezzar, Herod, etc.

    Prayer for Right Perspective

“Merciful Father, deliver me from the subtle pride that claims Your works as mine. Keep me ever mindful that I am but an unworthy servant (Luke 17:10). Where I’ve taken credit for Your deeds, forgive me. Where I’ve sought glory for myself, cleanse me. Let my life always point others to You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Conclusion: The Blessedness of Giving God His Due

    1. Safety in Humility
      • God resists the proud but gives grace to humble (James 4:6)
    2. Joy in Right Worship
      • True fulfillment comes in glorifying God
    3. Eternal Rewards
      • Those who humble themselves will be exalted (Matthew 23:12)

    Final Warning:
That ministry, business, talent, or achievement you’re tempted to claim? It’s borrowed capital. Handle with reverence – it’s stamped “Property of the King of kings.”
