TOPIC: THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY

    MEMORISE:
For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the

LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
    Psalms 84:11

    READ: Psalms 91:1-16

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
    5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
    9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 31 JULY 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

There is something very interesting about shadows; there can be no shadows except there is light. If everywhere is totally dark, there will be no shadows.

Malachi 4:2 calls Jesus the Sun of righteousness. If you read John 5:2-9, you will see the story of a man who had been sick for 38 years and had been forsaken by everybody.

All of a sudden, while he lay helplessly on the ground, a shadow was cast over him. When he lifted up his eyes, he saw the Sun of righteousness. Not long after, he was on his feet and was found in the temple (John 5:14).

The madman of Gadara became free from demonic oppression when he encountered the Sun of righteousness (Mark 5:1-15). The woman with the issue of blood didn’t have any hope of healing and restoration until she came under the shadow of the Almighty. Her twelve years of pain, disappointment, and sorrow ended the moment she encountered the Sun of righteousness (Mark 5:25-34).

In today’s memory verse, David described God as a sun and a shield. As the Sun, He drives away every darkness from your life and gives you victory and wholeness, and as the Shield, He protects you from all evil and preserves your soul.

David experienced God as his sun and shield when he was running from Saul. No wonder he said in Psalm 37:40 that God will help and deliver His people from the wicked because they trust in Him. Only those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High can abide under the shadow of the Almighty and boast of this kind of deliverance (Psalm 91:1).

The secret place of the Most High is a place for intimate conversations with Him; it is a place where you can build intimacy with Him. Also, in His secret place, He reveals mysteries to overcome the enemy. Elisha knew the secret conversations of the king of Syria because he had an intimate relationship with God (2 Kings 6:8-12). If you want to abide under Christ’s shadow, then you have to dwell in His secret place.

Beloved, are you dwelling in the secret place of the Most High? Only those who live a holy life and prioritise spending quality time with God can dwell there. Sinners cannot dwell in the secret place; therefore, if you’re not yet born again or you’re still toying with sin, repent now and come under the shadow of the Almighty.

OPEN HEAVEN 31 JULY 2025 PRAYER POINT

Father, please help me to dwell in Your secret place so that I can abide under Your shadow.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Isaiah 57-59

HYMN 19: ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 31 JULY 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Psalms 84:11

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.”

This powerful verse reveals God’s dual nature as both illuminator (sun) and protector (shield). It promises that those who walk in intimacy with Him will experience both His radiant favor and impenetrable covering.

    BIBLE READING: Psalms 91:1-16

This psalm outlines the benefits of dwelling in God’s secret place:

    • v.1: Divine shadow = supernatural covering
    • v.4: His faithfulness = shield and buckler
    • v.14-16: Sevenfold promises for those who know His name

    The Power of Divine Shadow

The devotional uses three biblical encounters to demonstrate how Christ, as the Sun of Righteousness, brings light to darkness and shelter to the vulnerable.

    1. The Nature of Divine Shadow

    • Requires Light (Malachi 4:2):
      • Just as physical shadows need light, spiritual covering flows from Christ’s presence
    • Dual Function:
      1. As the Sun:
        • Exposes and destroys darkness (John 1:5)
        • Heals and restores (John 5:8-9)
      2. As the Shield:
        • Blocks enemy attacks (Psalm 3:3)
        • Preserves destiny (Psalm 121:7)

    2. Biblical Encounters With God’s Shadow

    CharacterSituationResult of Divine Shadow
38-Year Invalid (John 5)Lifelong sickness, abandonedInstant healing, temple restoration
Gadarene Demoniac (Mark 5)Bound by LegionTotal freedom, evangelistic calling
Woman With Issue (Mark 5)12 years of bleedingHealing, social reinstatement

    3. Accessing the Secret Place (Psalm 91:1)

    • Requirements:
      1. Salvation: Sinners cannot dwell there (Isaiah 59:2)
      2. Holiness: “Clean hands, pure heart” (Psalm 24:3-4)
      3. Intimacy: “Abide in Me” (John 15:4)
    • Rewards:
      • Revelation (2 Kings 6:12)
      • Protection (Psalm 91:5-7)
      • Provision (Psalm 91:16)

    4. David’s Testimony (Psalm 37:40)

    • Shadow in Crisis:
      • While fleeing Saul, God was his sun (guidance) and shield (protection)
    • Key to Deliverance: “Because they trust in Him”

How to Dwell in God’s Secret Place

    1. Daily Communion:
      • Start mornings with worship + Word (Exodus 34:2)
    2. Lifestyle of Repentance:
      • Keep short accounts with God (1 John 1:9)
    3. Obedience to Promptings:
      • Like Elisha, act on divine revelations (2 Kings 6:9)
    4. Praise Warfare:
      • Praise disperses darkness (Acts 16:25-26)

Warning: Don’t Play at the Doorstep

    • Partial Commitment Risks Exposure:
      • Like Lot’s wife (Genesis 19:26), lingering near sin invites disaster
    • Cultural Christianity Isn’t Enough:
      • Many visit God’s presence; few dwell there (Psalm 15:1)

Conclusion: Your Place of Ultimate Safety

    Pray this:
“Sun of Righteousness, arise over my life with healing and light! Shield me from every evil plot. Draw me deeper into Your secret place until Your shadow becomes my permanent address, in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps:

    1. Identify “shadowless areas” in your life—where are you exposed to attacks?
    2. Fast 1 day weekly to strengthen your secret place access
    3. Study Psalm 91 aloud daily for 30 days—let it rewrite your spiritual DNA

Remember: In His shadow, storms may rage—but they cannot reach you.

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”(Psalm 91:1). Dwell deep!

    TOPIC: THE ALL-SUFFICIENT GOD

    MEMORISE:
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
    2 Corinthians 9:8

    READ: Psalms 23:1-6

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 30 JULY 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

The first record of God introducing Himself in person to man by His name was in Genesis 17:1, and He said, “I am Jehovah El-Shaddai.” This is often interpreted as ‘The God who is more than enough:

However, some Bible scholars have said there is a deeper meaning to the name as it also describes God as an inexhaustible source for our nurturing. This implies that God is saying, “You can draw everything you need for growth and a fulfilling life from Me.”

My God is the All-sufficient One. David said in Psalm 23:1, “The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.” Philippians 4:19 says that God will supply ALL your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. The Bible says further in Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” These and many more Scriptures give me the assurance that if I am linked with the All-sufficient One, it is impossible for me to lack.

God daily loads us with benefits (Psalm 68:19) – He gives us benefits every single day! When He wants to supply your needs for a day, He can use various methods.

In 1956, I was living with an uncle in llesha, a town in Western Nigeria. He was a drummer whose only source of income was whenever people invited him to play the drum. When he doesn’t receive any invitations, no money comes in, and we will starve.

On a particular day, both of us were hungry, and we hoped that somebody would come and invite him to drum. After a while, a girl came to us with a big bowl on her head, dropped it, and said, “My sister said I should give you this food.” My uncle said, “I don’t know your sister.” The girl replied, “Well, my sister knows you,” and she turned around and left.

Immediately after she left, we opened the bowl and found pounded yam and chicken stew in it. We had been starving, so we descended on the food without delay. As we were breaking the chicken bones, the girl came back and said, “I’m sorry, I came to the wrong house,” but it was too late.

When God wants to supply your needs, He can divert blessings that do not seem to be yours to you.

Beloved, never worry about your needs. Trust and obey the All-Sufficient One, and you will always have all you need and more.

OPEN HEAVEN 30 JULY 2025 KEY POINT

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Isaiah 53-56

HYMN 35:’ TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 30 JULY 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: 2 Corinthians 9:8

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”

This verse reveals God’s nature as Jehovah Jireh—the Provider whose resources never run dry. It promises not just survival, but supernatural abundance for those connected to Him.

    BIBLE READING: Psalms 23:1-6

David’s shepherd psalm unveils seven dimensions of divine sufficiency:

    1. Provision (v.1)
    2. Rest (v.2)
    3. Restoration (v.3)
    4. Guidance (v.3)
    5. Protection (v.4)
    6. Favor (v.5)
    7. Eternal Security (v.6)

    The Depths of God’s All-Sufficiency

The devotional explores El-Shaddai’s multifaceted provision through Scripture and Pastor Adeboye’s personal testimony of divinely redirected provision.

    1. The Meaning of El-Shaddai

    • Traditional View: “God Almighty” (Genesis 17:1)
    • Deeper Hebrew Insight:
      • “Shad” = breast → nurturing sustainer
      • “Dai” = enough → inexhaustible source
    • Practical Implications:
      • God doesn’t just meet needs—He mothers our destiny with constant supply

    2. Biblical Proofs of Divine Sufficiency

    • David’s Confidence (Psalm 23:1):
      • “I shall not want” = zero lack in any area
    • Paul’s Testimony (Philippians 4:19):
      • Supply comes from heaven’s riches, not earth’s economy
    • Jesus’ Assurance (Matthew 6:31-33):
      • Seek God’s kingdom first → necessities added automatically

    3. The “Wrong House” Miracle

Pastor Adeboye’s childhood story demonstrates four kingdom provision principles:

    1. Unexpected Channels:
      • God used a mistaken delivery to feed them (Isaiah 55:8-9)
    2. Perfect Timing:
      • Food arrived at starvation point (Psalm 37:19)
    3. Supernatural Covering:
      • The girl’s “wrong house” was God’s right address for supply
    4. Divine Humor:
      • Bones were already cracked when the error was discovered—Heaven’s “no takebacks” policy

    4. How to Access El-Shaddai’s Supply

    1. Know His Names:
      • Study Jehovah Jireh, El-Shaddai, etc. to understand His nature
    2. Practice Radical Trust:
      • Like the widow with Elijah (1 Kings 17:13-16), give first in scarcity
    3. Expect Creative Miracles:
      • Watch for ravens (1 Kings 17:6), angels (Genesis 21:17), or “wrong deliveries”
    4. Testify Continually:
      • Your praise activates more supply (Acts 16:25-26)

    Warning Against Self-Sufficiency

    • Martha’s Mistake (Luke 10:40-42):
      • Prioritized natural hustle over spiritual posture
    • The Rich Fool (Luke 12:16-21):
      • Trusted barns more than God

    Conclusion: Your Never-Ending Supply

    Pray this:
“El-Shaddai, I plug into Your inexhaustible breast today! Nurture my destiny, cancel every lack, and surprise me with creative supply. Let my life showcase Your all-sufficiency, in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps:

    1. Memorize 2 Corinthians 9:8—confess it when needs arise
    2. Keep a “Wrong House Miracle” journal to record unexpected provisions
    3. Bless someone in need—you become a conduit of El-Shaddai’s flow

Remember: If He fed you through a ‘mistake,’ what more will He do through His intentional blessings? Your pounded yam and chicken stew are on the way!

“They that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.” (Psalm 34:10). Stay connected to the All-Sufficient One!

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
    Proverbs 4:18

    READ: 2 Corinthians 5:16-17

16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 29 JULY 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Over the past two days, I discussed the relationship between your past and present.

Today, I will conclude the series by discussing about your future and how your present will impact it.

As a believer, your future is secure because only God controls the past, the present, and the future – He is Alpha and Omega. This is why Colossians 1:27 says, “
… Christ in you, the hope of glory:”

    Furthermore, Isaiah 3:10 says,
“Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him…” These are promises from God, assuring you that your future will be alright.

Your future can be categorised into two: your future on earth and your future in eternity. If you’re a genuine Christian, you shouldn’t worry about tomorrow because God has promised to take care of you here on earth.

In John 14:13, Jesus said that if you ask anything in His name, it will be given to you. He said in Matthew 7:9-11 that even in our wicked state, we humans would never give our children stones when they ask for bread, so how would we not expect Him to give us every good thing that we ask Him for? As long as you are His child, God has promised that you will lack no good thing here on earth.

God has also promised to take care of you when you leave the earth. In John 14:1-3, Jesus said:

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

As a genuine child of God, when you leave this world, a mansion in a city made of pure gold is waiting for you in heaven (Revelation 21:18).

Beloved, if you haven’t given your life to Jesus Christ, you are in the kingdom of darkness, and you are courting double jeopardy. On earth, satan will have the right to make a mess of you because you belong to his kingdom, and in eternity, you will be in the lake of fire, far away from God, who is the source of all peace, joy, and light.

If you haven’t given your life to Jesus, turn to Him right now because, outside Him, your future will be terrible (Isaiah 3:11).

OPEN HEAVEN 29 JULY 2025 KEY POINT

If you are in Christ and you remain in Him, your future is blessed.

    HYMN 5: BLESSED ASSURANCE

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 29 JULY 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Proverbs 4:18

“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”

This verse paints a breathtaking picture of the believer’s future—not a flickering candle, but an ever-increasing radiance that culminates in eternal brilliance.

    BIBLE READING: 2 Corinthians 5:16-17

Paul’s revelation about new creation realities confirms:

    • v.17: Your past no longer defines you—Christ’s resurrection power rewrites your future
    • v.16: Earthly perspectives fade as we embrace kingdom vision

    The Believer’s Double-Blessed Future

The devotional concludes with a triumphant declaration: In Christ, your earthly and eternal futures are secured by divine covenant.

    1. Your Earthly Future: Guaranteed Provision

    • The Father’s Promise (Matthew 7:9-11):
      • If imperfect parents give good gifts, how much more will your perfect Father?
      • “No good thing will He withhold…” (Psalm 84:11)
    • Access Key:“Ask in My name” (John 14:13)
      • Not a blank check for greed, but kingdom-aligned petitions (James 4:3)

    2. Your Eternal Future: Prepared Mansions

    • Jesus’ Personal Project (John 14:2-3):
      • He’s actively preparing your heavenly dwelling
      • Materials: transparent gold, divine architecture (Revelation 21:18-21)
    • Present Implications:
      • Live with eternal perspective (Colossians 3:1-2)
      • Let earthly trials fuel heavenly anticipation (2 Corinthians 4:17)

    3. The Non-Believer’s Tragic Trajectory

    • Double Jeopardy:
      1. Earthly Torment: Satan’s legal rights over the unsaved (Acts 26:18)
      2. Eternal Fire: Separation from God’s goodness (Revelation 21:8)
    • Urgent Invitation:
      • “Today is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2)

How to Walk Into Your Glorious Future

    1. Daily Confession:
      • “My path grows brighter—I’m headed for my perfect day!” (Proverbs 4:18)
    2. Kingdom Prioritization:
      • Seek God’s agenda first (Matthew 6:33)—earthly needs follow
    3. Eternal Mindset:
      • Invest in what lasts forever (souls, godly character)

    Warning Against Presumption

    • False Assurance:
      • Not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” enters heaven (Matthew 7:21)
      • True believers bear fruit (John 15:8)
    • Carnal Christianity:
      • Living like the world while claiming Christ risks “I never knew you” (Matthew 7:23)

Conclusion: Your Best Days Are Ahead

    Pray this:
“Jesus, thank You for securing my earthly and eternal future. Help me walk worthy of my calling, knowing my brightest days—here and hereafter—are guaranteed in You. Use me to rescue others from darkness today!”

    Action Steps:

    1. Write your heavenly resume—list eternal investments (souls won, prayers prayed)
    2. Share John 14:1-3 with one unsaved person this week
    3. Live light-filled—let your hope shine (Matthew 5:16)

Remember: In Christ, your future isn’t left to chance—it’s crafted by covenant. Walk boldly into your double-blessed destiny!

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11). Your expected end is glorious!

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
    Ephesians 5:15

    READ: Genesis 25:27-34

27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents.
28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob.
29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 28 JULY 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Today can be regarded as tomorrow’s past. Just as your past experiences and choices gave birth to your present, the experiences and choices of today will give birth to your tomorrow. Therefore, you must be mindful of how you live your life today to birth a great future for yourself.

Ephesians 5:15-16 tells us that we should walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil.

In the next verse, the Bible tells us what it means to walk circumspectly.
Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
    Ephesians 5:17

To walk circumspectly is to walk in wisdom. It is to allow God’s wisdom to fill your heart so you can have a deep understanding of what God’s will is and do it.

Esau is an example of someone in the Bible who didn’t walk in wisdom, and this affected his future negatively. He was the firstborn son of Isaac and Rebecca, and as the firstborn, he was entitled to his father’s blessing.

His future was looking very bright until one day when he went to the field to hunt for meat. He returned home hungry and met his brother, Jacob, cooking. Esau allowed his hunger to becloud his reasoning and accepted Jacob’s offer to trade his birthright for a plate of food, as we see in today’s Bible reading.

He didn’t know that the birthright he carelessly sold was tied to the blessing that was waiting for him in the future. Because he despised his birthright, the blessing fled from him.

You must live in such a way that you don’t eat your tomorrow today. Don’t be like Esau, who couldn’t see beyond his immediate want and allowed a temporary hunger to cause him to lose a permanent blessing.

Another fellow who didn’t walk in wisdom and allowed his foolish actions to destroy his future was Reuben. Reuben was the firstborn son of Jacob, and as the firstborn, he had every right to inherit the blessing. However, he was unwise, and he slept with his father’s concubine. He allowed his temporary desire to cheat him and his descendants of the great blessing he should have inherited. When his father was about to die, instead of receiving blessings, he and his descendants inherited curses (Genesis 49:3-4).

Beloved, choose to walk in wisdom by living strictly according to the word of God at all times so that you and your children can reap good fruits in the future.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Isaiah 47-49

HYMN 33: GUIDE ME, O THOU GREAT JEHOVAH!

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 28 JULY 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Ephesians 5:15

“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise.”

This verse serves as a divine warning and invitation—a call to live with spiritual alertness, recognizing that every present action carries eternal consequences.

    BIBLE READING: Genesis 25:27-34

The tragic story of Esau trading his birthright for stew illustrates:

    • v.32: “Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?” → Shortsightedness
    • v.34: “Thus Esau despised his birthright” → Spiritual recklessness

The Weight of Today’s Choices on Tomorrow’s Destiny

The devotional contrasts two foolish biblical figures (Esau and Reuben) to teach us how present decisions shape future realities.

    1. The Folly of Esau: Trading Eternity for Temporality

    • His Mistake:
      • Prioritized immediate hunger over generational blessing
      • Underestimated the value of his birthright (which included covenant promises)
    • Modern Parallels:
      • Trading sexual purity for momentary pleasure
      • Exchanging prayer time for social media scrolling
      • Selling integrity for quick money

    2. The Failure of Reuben: Sacrificing Legacy for Lust

    • His Error (Genesis 35:22; 49:3-4):
      • Allowed temporary desire to destroy his firstborn rights
      • His descendants (the tribe of Reuben) later became insignificant in Israel
    • Contemporary Warnings:
      • Compromising morals for career advancement
      • Neglecting family for business success

    3. Walking Circumspectly: A Blueprint for Wise Living

Paul’s command in Ephesians 5:15-17 reveals three pillars of wisdom:

    A. Redeem the Time (v.16)
    • Greek: “Exagorazó” = “to buy back, rescue from loss”
    • Action Steps:
      • Audit your daily time expenditures
      • Replace time-wasters with eternal investments (prayer, Scripture, service)
    B. Understand God’s Will (v.17)
    • How to Discern:
      1. Study Scripture (Psalm 119:105)
      2. Pray for revelation (James 1:5)
      3. Seek godly counsel (Proverbs 11:14)
    C. Avoid Foolish Choices
    • Ask Before Acting:
      • “How will this affect my:
        • Relationship with God?
        • Family legacy?
        • Eternal rewards?”

    Practical Safeguards for Your Future

    1. The 24-Hour Test:
      • Before major decisions, ask: “Will this matter in 24 years?”
    2. The Legacy Lens:
      • View choices through your grandchildren’s future (Psalm 78:4-6)
    3. The “Birthright” Audit:
      • Identify what’s truly valuable in your life (salvation, family, calling) and protect it fiercely

    Prophetic Declarations

    • “I break every ‘Esau spirit’ of shortsightedness in my life!”
    • “My hands reject temporary gains that sabotage eternal rewards!”
    • “Like Joseph, I see future consequences in present choices (Genesis 39:9)!”

Conclusion: Your Today is Your Tomorrow’s Architect

    Pray this:
*”Father, give me the wisdom of Ephesians 5:15-17. Help me to recognize my ‘birthrights’ and guard them diligently. Let every choice I make today build a godly legacy, in Jesus’ name!”*

    Action Steps:

    1. Journal your “birthrights” (spiritual gifts, family blessings, divine callings)
    2. Fast from one time-waster this week (e.g., TV, gossip)
    3. Mentor someone younger—teach them to avoid Esau’s mistake

Remember: A fool lives for now; the wise build for eternity. Your today is writing your children’s history—write it well!

“The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.” (Proverbs 3:35). Choose wisdom!

    TOPIC: YOUR PAST

    MEMORISE:
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
    Isaiah 43:18-19

    READ: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10

9 And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.
10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 27 JULY 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

The past can be regarded as the mother of the present. Whatever you are going through today can be traced to the things that happened in the past. You might be going through some negative things now because of some of your past mistakes, but the good news is that the One who is called Alpha and Omega can clear out your negative past. He can wash off the mistakes of the past with His blood (1 John 1:7).

This is why 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that if a man is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away, and behold, all things have become new.

No matter the events that have happened in your past, the moment you come to Jesus, He gives you a brand-new start. He enters into your past and rearranges everything to work for your good.

God doesn’t need a minute to travel into your past to correct anything. In Revelation 1:8, He says:

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

God is Alpha and Omega, and He can go back to the day of your naming ceremony, the day of your birth, or even the time before your birth to change things in your favour.

Some people have problems today because of the names they bear. Some of these people were given names to reflect the circumstances that surrounded them or their families at the time of their birth.

For instance, if someone is named Esugbogo (meaning ‘satan is glorified’ in the Yoruba language), such a person cannot blame satan for tormenting him or her because the fellow’s name literally invites satan to glorify himself over the fellow.

Such people have very little that they can do about the things that happened before their birth or how they were named, but there’s someone who can go back to that time and change situations. God can go into your past to change things that don’t fit into His plans and purposes for you.

Beloved, God holds the key to your past. Cry out to Him today to change anything in your past that is contrary to His purpose for your life, as Jabez did in today’s Bible reading.

I pray that my Father will remove every negative thing in your past that might be haunting your present and give you a brand-new beginning, in Jesus’ name.

OPEN HEAVEN 27 JULY 2025 KEY POINT

God can remove anything from your past that doesn’t fit into His purpose for your life.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Isaiah 44-46

HYMN 27: WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 27 JULY 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Isaiah 43:18-19

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

This powerful promise reveals God’s ability to rewrite history—not by erasing the past, but by redeeming it to create a glorious future.

    BIBLE READING: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10

Jabez’s prayer model shows how to:

    1. Acknowledge painful origins (“sorrowful birth”)
    2. Petition God for reversal (“enlarge my coast”)
    3. Experience divine override (“God granted him his request”)

God’s Redemptive Power Over Your Past

The devotional unveils how Christ transforms generational baggage, mistakes, and negative foundations into launchpads for destiny.

    1. How the Past Shapes the Present

    • Negative Names:
      • Like “Esugbogo” (satan is glorified), some names:
        • Invite demonic oppression
        • Cement family curses
        • Define identity contrary to God’s plan
    • Unconscious Influences:
      • Prenatal trauma
      • Ancestral covenants (Exodus 20:5)
      • Childhood wounds (Proverbs 22:6)

    2. Christ’s Blood: The Ultimate Time Machine

    • Instant Redemption (1 John 1:7):
      • Washes all past sins—no expiration date
    • Retroactive Renaming:
      • God changed:
        • Abram (“exalted father”) → Abraham (“father of nations”)
        • Jacob (“deceiver”) → Israel (“prince with God”)
      • He can redefine your identity today

    3. Practical Steps to Overcome the Past

    1. Renounce Harmful Names/Titles
      • “I reject every name/tag that contradicts God’s purpose for me!”
    2. Apply the Blood Retroactively
      • Pray: “Jesus, cleanse every negative event from [specific year/age].”
    3. Receive a New Script
      • Study who God says you are (Ephesians 1:3-6)
    4. Do a “Jabez Prayer” Daily
      • “Lord, overwrite my painful beginnings with Your glory!”

    4. Biblical Examples of Past Redemption

    • Rahab the Harlot (Joshua 6:25):
      • From brothel to Messiah’s lineage
    • Manasseh the Idolater (2 Chronicles 33:13):
      • From child sacrifice to repentance
    • Saul the Persecutor (Acts 9):
      • From murderer to apostle

    Warning: Don’t Romanticize the Past

    • Israel’s Mistake (Numbers 11:5):
      • They longed for Egypt’s “good old days”—a slavery mentality
    • Lot’s Wife (Genesis 19:26):
      • Her backward glance froze her in the past

    Prophetic Declarations

    • “Every negative label from my past is erased by the blood of Jesus!”
    • “My ‘Esugbogo’ name becomes ‘Emmanuel’—God with me!”
    • “Where I’ve been wounded, I now carry testimonies (Psalm 126:5)!”

    Conclusion: Your Past is Pre-Redemption

    Pray this:
“Alpha and Omega, enter my history today! Wash every stain with Your blood. Rename me according to Your purpose. Let my former pains become platforms for Your glory, in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps:

    1. Write down 3 past events needing redemption—pray over them daily.
    2. Legally change your name if it carries negative meanings.
    3. Share your testimony—your freedom unlocks others’.

Remember: Your past was the devil’s preview—your future is God’s masterpiece!

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind… I press toward the mark.” (Philippians 3:13-14). Your new season starts now!

TOPIC: FREEDOM FROM GENERATIONAL CURSES II

    MEMORISE:
And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
    Isaiah 10:27

    READ: 2 Corinthians 3:17-18

17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 26 JULY 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Today, I’ll conclude my discussion on generational curses and their impact. Such curses take root over several generations, and when anyone wants to remove them, they won’t go without a fight.

For instance, when Moses tried to deliver Israel from the hold of the Egyptians, Pharaoh was reluctant to let them go. God had to send ten plagues before he was forced to release them. Even after that, he and his army pursued them to take them back into bondage.

The Egyptians had tormented Israel for many generations – lasting 430 years (Exodus 12:40) – and they didn’t want to let them go. For Israel to finally be free, God had to wipe out Pharaoh’s soldiers (Exodus 14:27- 28). If there are any generational curses working against your destiny, I decree they are broken today, in Jesus’ name.

To be free from generational curses, people can go to genuine ministers of God, and they will cancel them. However, if they continue to live sinful lifestyles, the curses may come back.

Imagine if, after Israel was freed, they separated themselves from Moses, their link to God, the Egyptians would have recaptured them. The primary thing that is required for generational curses to be broken forever is that people remain close to God.

People can also break generational curses by themselves if they become really intimate with Christ. The literal meaning of today’s memory verse is that as you continually get filled with the Holy Spirit, you will grow in the spirit such that your neck will become too big for any demonic yoke to hold it.

After Jesus healed the man at the pool of Bethesda, He warned him not to return to sin so that something worse wouldn’t happen to him (John 5:14). Sin will always keep the door open for generational curses. You must live a holy life because the devil will return to check if he has legal grounds to torment you again (John 14:30).

You must also be willing to pray and fast diligently because certain demons only respond to prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29). You should also study your Bible diligently because it is the truth that makes you free (John 8:32), and do not forsake the fellowshipping of brethren because one can chase 1,000 but two can chase 10,000 (Hebrews 10:25, Deuteronomy 32:30).

As you do these, no generational curse or any other curse will be able to affect you, your family, and every other thing that concerns you.

OPEN HEAVEN 26 JULY 2025 PRAYER POINT

Father, please deliver me and my family from generational curses or any other curses, in Jesus’ name.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Isaiah 41-43

HYMN 1: ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 26 JULY 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Isaiah 10:27

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”

This prophetic promise reveals that generational yokes don’t break by human effort alone—they shatter under the weight of divine anointing and consistent spiritual growth.

    BIBLE READING: 2 Corinthians 3:17-18

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all… are changed into the same image from glory to glory…”

Paul connects freedom from bondage to two things:

    1. The presence of the Holy Spirit (v.17)
    2. Progressive spiritual transformation (v.18)

    Final Victory Over Generational Curses

The devotional concludes with critical strategies for permanent deliverance from ancestral strongholds:

    1. Why Generational Curses Fight Back

    • Long-Term Investment:
      • Like Egypt’s 430-year grip on Israel, demons invest centuries building family strongholds (Exodus 12:40).
      • They resist fiercely when challenged (Pharaoh’s pursuit – Exodus 14:9).
    • Legal Grounds:
      • Unconfessed sins (Psalm 66:18)
      • Occult involvement (Deuteronomy 18:10-12)
      • Unforgiveness (Matthew 6:15)

    2. Two Pathways to Freedom

    A. Through Godly Ministers
    • Authority Transfer:
      • As Moses broke Egypt’s yoke, anointed servants can cancel curses (Matthew 16:19).
    • Danger of Relapse:
      • If delivered persons return to sin, demons regain access (John 5:14).
    B. Through Personal Intimacy with Christ
    • The “Big Neck” Principle (Isaiah 10:27):
      • As you grow spiritually (prayer, Word, holiness), your “neck” (spiritual stature) outgrows demonic yokes.
    • Key Growth Areas:
      1. Prayer & Fasting (Mark 9:29) – For stubborn spirits
      2. Word Immersion (John 8:32) – Truth dismantles lies
      3. Holy Living (1 Peter 1:16) – Closes legal doors
      4. Christian Fellowship (Hebrews 10:25) – Collective authority

    3. Maintaining Deliverance

    • Stay Under Covering:
      • Israel stayed close to Moses (God’s representative).
      • Likewise, remain accountable to spiritual leaders.
    • Renew Your Mind:
      • Replace “This is our family curse” with “I’m redeemed from the curse” (Galatians 3:13).
    • Guard Your Gates:
      • Monitor what enters your:
        • Eyes (Media)
        • Ears (Conversations)
        • Mouth (Confessions)

    Prophetic Declarations

    • *”Every 430-year curse over my life is broken today! Pharaoh’s army drowns in the Red Sea of Jesus’ blood!”*
    • “My ‘neck’ of spiritual authority thickens—no yoke can fit me again!”
    • “From today, my family line becomes a generational blessing (Genesis 12:2)!”

    Conclusion: Walk in Covenant Freedom

    Pray this:
*”Father, I thank You for total deliverance through Christ. I renounce every sin giving curses legal rights. Fill me with Your Spirit until my life overflows with liberation power. Let my transformation from ‘glory to glory’ (2 Corinthians 3:18) become a curse-breaking testimony, in Jesus’ name!”*

    Action Plan:

    1. 21-Day Word Fast: Study curse-breaking scriptures daily (e.g., Deuteronomy 28, Galatians 3).
    2. Anoint Your Home: Mark doors/windows with oil as a hedge of protection (Job 1:10).
    3. Start a Deliverance Journal: Record every generational pattern broken.

Remember: You’re not just free—you’re freedom’s ambassador (2 Corinthians 5:20). Live like it!

“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8). The destroyer is destroyed—walk in your victory!

TOPIC: FREEDOM FROM GENERATIONAL CURSES I

    MEMORISE:
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
    John 8:36

    READ: Colossians 2:14-15

    14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 25 JULY 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Today, many people are suffering from generational curses. They struggle to succeed every day, but a powerful force seems to resist them. If this is your story, I decree your freedom today, in Jesus’ name.

If you notice certain negative patterns in your family that seem to be beyond anyone’s control, there is a possibility that a generational curse is in play. One thing about generational curses is that they are supervised by demons who have built a stronghold in that family.

Because of how strong their hold is in the family, many members of the family ultimately give in to the curse. They see the effects of the curse as their lot, so they never try to fight against it.

When Moses killed an Egyptian to save an Israelite, it was the same Israelites who condemned him and let the secret out. They had fallen in love with their oppressors even though they were suffering.

They even quarrelled with Moses in the wilderness many times for setting them free. They kept talking about the food in Egypt and even the graves (Numbers 11:5, Exodus 14:11).

Obviously, they had resolved to die in their negative situation; after all, it was in the same situation that their fathers died. The stronghold of the devil had eaten into their minds.

Beloved, if you have noticed a negative pattern in your family, please don’t settle into it as if it is normal. Don’t let those curses have a hold on your mind; be determined to break free from them. Your father, mother, and those older than you may have experienced it, but that doesn’t mean you must also experience it.

There was a young man who was 39 years old and was about to turn 40. He came to me for prayers and said that no male in his family had ever exceeded 40 years of age. He said he was the oldest male in the family, and now he was about to turn 40. He was afraid that he was going to die, and that was why he came to me.

We prayed, and he is still alive today, more than 30 years later. If he had not refused to become a victim of the generational curse in his family and had instead started preparing for his death, he would never have been liberated. If you have noticed any generational curses in your family, submit yourself to God today, resist the devil, and he will run far away from you (James 4:7).

OPEN HEAVEN 25 JULY 2025 REFLECTION

I take authority over my life, and I break every stronghold that the devil has over it today, in Jesus’ name.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Isaiah 38-40

HYMN 19: ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 25 JULY 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: John 8:36

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

This verse declares the complete and permanent liberation Christ offers—not just temporary relief, but total emancipation from every generational bondage.

    BIBLE READING: Colossians 2:14-15

“Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us… and having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

Paul reveals that Christ canceled every legal claim of generational curses through His cross and publicly disarmed demonic forces that enforce them.

Breaking Generational Curses: A Biblical Blueprint

The devotional exposes how generational strongholds operate and provides divine strategies for freedom:

    1. Identifying Generational Curses

    • Negative Family Patterns:
      • Examples:
        • Premature deaths (like the 39-year-old man)
        • Chronic poverty (Proverbs 3:33)
        • Addiction cycles
        • Repeated divorce/abandonment
    • Demonic Supervision:
      • Curses are enforced by familiar spirits (Leviticus 19:31) that study family weaknesses

    2. How Curses Gain Psychological Strongholds

    • The Israelite Mindset (Exodus 14:11-12):
      • They romanticized slavery (“Egypt’s graves were better”)
      • Demonized deliverance (“Why did you bring us here to die?”)
    • Modern Parallels:
      • “All the men in our family are womanizers—it’s just our nature.”
      • “We’re destined to be poor—education won’t help.”

    3. The 3-Step Deliverance Process

    1. Recognition & Repentance
      • Acknowledge the curse (like the 39-year-old did)
      • Repent for any family sins sustaining it (Daniel 9:16)
    2. Legal Cancellation Through Christ
      • Plead Colossians 2:14-15 over your life
      • Declare: “Jesus bore this curse for me (Galatians 3:13)!”
    3. Renewal of the Mind (Romans 12:2)
      • Replace curse narratives with God’s promises (Jeremiah 29:11)

    4. Maintaining Your Freedom

    • Guard Your Speech:
      • Stop saying “It runs in our family”—instead declare “Christ redeemed me!”
    • Cut Unholy Ties:
      • Destroy occult objects (Acts 19:19)
      • Renounce evil family covenants
    • Build New Godly Patterns:
      • Like Abraham breaking from his idolatrous father (Joshua 24:2-3)

    Prophetic Declarations Against Generational Curses

    • “Every ancestral agreement with death is broken today (Isaiah 28:18)! I shall live and fulfill my days (Psalm 91:16)!”
    • “The curse of poverty is reversed—I enter my wealthy place (Psalm 66:12)!”
    • “My family line is rewired for holiness—my children shall serve the Lord (Isaiah 59:21)!”

    Conclusion: Your Bloodline is Redeemed!

    Pray this:
“Father, thank You for making me a curse-breaker through Christ. By His blood, I cancel every generational curse over my life. I reject every familiar spirit assigned to my destiny. From today, my family’s story changes for Your glory, in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps:

    1. Fast for 3 days to break stubborn curses (Isaiah 58:6)
    2. Anoint your home with oil as a sign of consecration
    3. Study “curse-breaking” scriptures daily (e.g., Deuteronomy 28, Galatians 3:13-14)

Remember: You’re not a prisoner of your genealogy—you’re a product of Christ’s redemption!Walk in your covenant freedom today.

“Neither shall one say, ‘Here is the sickly,’ for the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.” (Isaiah 33:24). Your bloodline is healed!

TOPIC: ANOINT AND PRAY OVER YOUR CHILDREN

    MEMORISE:
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
    Joel 2:28

    READ: 1 Samuel 16: 12-13

12 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.
13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 24 JULY 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Parents cannot raise their children all by themselves. This is because many other factors are involved in a child’s destiny that parents cannot control. Some of these factors include the environment where their children are growing up, the people they interact with, their genetic makeup, and even spiritual forces that surround their entire family and the children in particular.

This is why, beyond all the things that parents do physically to raise their children, they must also pray for them regularly and seek God’s help to raise them correctly. Parents must also anoint and pray over their children regularly to protect them from evil forces.

In the short time that I have spent on the earth, I have seen the enemy work all manners of evil in the lives of children. Many times, some parents heap blames on their children for lacking focus, being unserious, or being lazy when they do not succeed, especially in their academics. They get frustrated that they are spending so much money on them without good results. They may not know that there might be forces of darkness that are hindering the child’s progress.

It is possible for a student to study very hard and just blank out in the examination hall. There was a case at the University of Lagos some years ago where, right in the examination hall, a young man just began to urinate non-stop.

There was some pandemonium, and those around him began to call an ambulance. However, he told them that this was not the case for the doctor and that they should call his pastor instead. His pastor prayed for him, and he was healed.

The anointing sets a child apart for greatness. Although David was destined to be the king of Israel, that destiny did not find expression until he was anointed.

After he was anointed, the Bible says that the Spirit of the Lord came upon him from that day forward (1 Samuel 16:13). In the very next chapter, he killed the Philistine giant, Goliath, and became a national figure (1 Samuel 17:48- 51).

If you are a parent, speak God’s counsel over your children and anoint them regularly. Let them know that they belong to God and that anyone who touches them touches the apple of God’s eye (Zechariah 2:8). I pray that God will protect every child from the attacks of the enemy, in Jesus’ name.

OPEN HEAVEN 24 JULY 2025 PRAYER POINT

Anointing and praying over children regularly protects them from the devil’s plans and sets them apart for greatness.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Isaiah 35-37

HYMN 35:’ TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 24 JULY 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Joel 2:28

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”

This prophetic promise reveals God’s desire to actively engage with the next generation. It shows that children are not just passive recipients of parenting but vessels for divine encounters.

    BIBLE READING: 1 Samuel 16:12-13

The anointing of David teaches us:

    • v.12: God looks at the heart, not outward appearances
    • v.13: The anointing activates destiny (David’s kingship began at this moment)

    The Spiritual Dimension of Child-Rearing

The devotional highlights critical truths about raising children in a world of visible and invisible battles.

    1. The Limits of Human Parenting

    While parents provide:

    • Food
    • Education
    • Moral guidance

Four factors beyond parental control affect children:

    1. Environment (Peer pressure, societal values)
    2. Relationships (Teachers, friends, mentors)
    3. Genetics (Health predispositions)
    4. Spiritual Forces (Ephesians 6:12)

Example: The UNILAG student’s sudden illness during exams was spiritual, not medical.

    2. The Power of Spiritual Covering

    • The Anointing Principle (1 Samuel 16:13):
      • David remained a shepherd until anointing oil touched him
      • Likewise, children need regular spiritual activation through:
        • Prayer
        • Prophetic declarations
        • Anointing with oil (James 5:14)
    • Protection Promise (Zechariah 2:8):
      • Children consecrated to God become “apples of His eye”—untouchable to demons

    3. Common Spiritual Attacks on Children

    AttackPhysical ManifestationSpiritual Solution
Academic FailureBlanking out in examsAnoint study materials (Psalm 119:99)
Strange SicknessUnexplained illnessesPlead the blood (Exodus 12:13)
RebellionSudden defianceBreak generational curses (Exodus 20:5)

    4. Practical Steps for Godly Parenting

    1. Daily Prophetic Declarations
      • “My child, you are blessed in your going out and coming in (Deuteronomy 28:6). No weapon against you prospers (Isaiah 54:17)!”
    2. Monthly Anointing
      • Use olive oil to mark their foreheads while praying Psalm 91
    3. Spiritual Discernment
      • Like the UNILAG student’s pastor, recognize when battles are spiritual
    4. Destiny Activation
      • Help children discover their spiritual gifts (2 Timothy 1:6)

    Warning Signs of Spiritual Oppression

    • Extreme Night Terrors (More than normal bad dreams)
    • Sudden Personality Changes (Withdrawal, aggression)
    • Unexplained Academic Struggle (Despite hard work)
    • Recurring Sickness (Especially around key dates)

    Prophetic Declarations for Your Children

    • “Every demonic veil over my child’s mind tears now! Their IQ supernaturally increases!”
    • “My home is a no-fly zone for evil spirits! My children are sealed by the blood!”
    • “They shall fulfill their Davidic destiny—Goliaths of addiction and failure fall before them!”

    Conclusion: Raising Heaven’s Generals

    Pray this:
“Father, I cover my children with the blood of Jesus. Pour Your Spirit upon them as in Joel 2:28. Destroy every evil plot against their destiny. Let them walk in the anointing of Samuel, the wisdom of Solomon, and the favor of Esther, in Jesus’ name!”

    Action Steps:

    1. Anoint their beds/school bags this week
    2. Write Scriptures on their mirrors/notebooks
    3. Share David’s story to teach them about destiny

Remember: Natural parenting + spiritual covering = unstoppable children. Your prayers turn them into God’s secret weapons for this generation!

“All thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.” (Isaiah 54:13). The battle is the Lord’s—parent in peace!

OPEN HEAVEN 23 JULY 2025 TODAY DEVOTIONAL

    TOPIC: FREEDOM FROM OPPRESSION

    MEMORISE:
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
    Acts 10:38

    READ: Mark 5:1-20

1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.

6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.

11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.
14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.
15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.
17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.
18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.
19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 23 JULY 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

I once visited a family, and unknown to me at the time, the woman of the house was a witch who had made an evil covenant to kill one of every two children that she gave birth to diabolically. She had a little daughter and had planned to kill the girl that same day I visited.

As I was about to leave, the little girl, who was carried on her mother’s back, stretched towards me such that I was compelled to carry her.

I learned afterwards that up to that moment, the girl never allowed anyone else to carry her besides her parents. It almost seemed like someone whispered to her, “Here is someone God can use to turn the plan of the enemy to nought.”

I carried her and prayed for her without knowing of the evil plans concerning her, “Father, bless this child; keep sickness and death away from her.” Immediately, the yoke was broken! The girl survived the attack, and not long after, her mother confessed all her evil plans and deeds.

I pray that every satanic yoke upon anyone reading this devotional is broken now, in Jesus’ name.

Many people are being oppressed by demons. They find it difficult to fight those demons off because they are humans, and the demons are spirits.

The question is, how do you fight an enemy you cannot see? Well, you need a partner who can see your enemy. That partner also has to be stronger than your enemy so that he or she can defeat the enemy for you.

God is a Spirit (John 4:24), and 2 Corinthians 3:17 says that wherever the Spirit of God is, there is liberty. In other words, if you invite God into your situation and He fights for you like He did when I prayed for that little girl, victory is sure.

In today’s Bible reading, the madman of Gadara was completely bound by forces of darkness, but as soon as Jesus Christ stepped into his situation, not only was he set free, his destiny was also restored. Whatever the devil may have stolen from you will be restored today, in Jesus’ name.

When Jesus was on the earth, He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil because God was with Him. When God is with you, every yoke of darkness breaks. If you are experiencing any form of bondage in any area of your life, invite Jesus today, and you will enjoy total freedom.

OPEN HEAVEN 23 JULY 2025 ACTION POINT

When you invite God into a situation, His presence destroys every satanic yoke of oppression.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Isaiah 32-34

HYMN 19: ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 23 JULY 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Acts 10:38

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.”

This verse establishes Christ’s ministry model: divine authority over demonic oppression. It confirms that every yoke of darkness can be broken when God’s power is present.

    BIBLE READING: Mark 5:1-20

The deliverance of the Gadarene demoniac demonstrates:

    • v.8: Jesus’ absolute command over evil spirits
    • v.15: Complete restoration of destiny after deliverance
    • v.19: Former captives become evangelists

Breaking Satanic Yokes Through Divine Partnership

The devotional combines Pastor Adeboye’s encounter with the witch’s daughter and the Gadarene demoniac to reveal God’s deliverance strategy.

    1. The Reality of Invisible Oppression

    • The Witch’s Daughter:
      • An evil covenant (Exodus 20:5) sought to kill her
      • Demonically influenced to reject others (only allowed parental touch)
    • Modern Manifestations:
      • Family curses (repeated tragedies, barrenness)
      • Strange addictions (pornography, alcoholism)
      • Unexplained failures (business collapse, broken relationships)

    2. How Divine Intervention Works

    • The Unseen Battle:
      • The girl supernaturally reached out to God’s servant (like the woman with the issue of blood – Mark 5:27-28)
      • simple prayer broke generational witchcraft (Matthew 18:18)
    • Jesus in Gadara:
      • Demons recognized His authority (v.7)
      • The man’s destiny was restored (v.15)

    3. Your Role in Spiritual Warfare

    1. Recognize Oppression
      • Signs: Recurring nightmares, irrational fears, chronic stagnation
    2. Invite Jesus In
      • Like the Gadarene, run to Christ (not charms/psychics)
    3. Use Spiritual Weapons
      • Blood of Jesus (Revelation 12:11)
      • Word Declarations (Mark 11:23)
      • Fasting (Matthew 17:21)

    4. After Deliverance: Staying Free

    • The Gadarene’s Testimony (v.19-20):
      • He published his deliverance → protected his liberty
    • The Girl’s Protection:
      • Mother’s confession broke further attacks

    Prophetic Declarations

    • Over Readers: “Every ancestral covenant is broken now! Demons assigned against your destiny flee in Jesus’ name!”
    • Over Families: “Where witchcraft has spoken death, I decree divine protection (Psalm 91)!”
    • Over Destinies: “What the enemy stole—health, joy, opportunities—is restored sevenfold (Proverbs 6:31)!”

    Conclusion: Freedom is Your Birthright

    Pray this:
*”Jesus, You went about destroying devilish works. Today, destroy every yoke on my life! By Your blood, I cancel every evil covenant. Fill me with Your Spirit so oppression cannot return (Luke 11:24-26). Amen!”*

    Act Now:

    1. Renounce unknown covenants (“I break every demonic agreement over my life”)
    2. Plead the blood over your home, children, and destiny
    3. Share your testimony to seal your freedom (Revelation 12:11)

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36). Walk in your deliverance today!

TOPIC: YOUR TIMES ARE IN GOD’S HANDS

    MEMORISE

And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
    Daniel 2:21

    READ: Psalms 31:14-21

14 But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God.
15 My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.
16 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies’ sake.
17 Let me not be ashamed, O Lord; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.
18 Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
20 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
21 Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN 22 JULY 2025 TODAY MESSAGE

Years ago, there was a lady who had been trusting God for a partner for many years until she reached menopause. During a crusade, I said that everyone should ask God for whatever they wanted, and the lady turned to God and said, “Lord, I am not going to bother you about a husband anymore. There is no point, as I can no longer have a child. I will serve you all the same anyway.”

The Almighty God heard her, and not long after that, a man came to her and said, “Thus saith the Lord, you are to be my wife.”

Surprised, she asked him to go and pray again to be sure that he had heard from God. However, the man insisted that he had prayed and heard from God. Then she asked him, “Don’t you want children? Because I can’t have children at my age.” The man replied, “That is not a problem because I already have children. I lost my wife, and all I need now is a companion and a mother for my children.”

They got married, and the woman who thought that she could no longer have children gave birth to a set of twins nine months later. God is not limited by time at all; He can speed up time or reverse it as He pleases.

God holds times and seasons in His hands, and He can change them however He pleases (Daniel 2:21). If men say it is over for you, ignore them. God is the only One who has the final say in your life; He is Alpha and Omega (Revelation 1:8).

When men said it was over for Abraham and Sarah, God reversed the time and caused them to laugh (Genesis 21:6-7).

Even when Lazarus’ sisters thought that he was dead and gone, Jesus came and announced, “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25). When God visits a fellow, He restores any wasted years that might exist in his or her life.

As long as you are alive and God is your Father, your time is not gone. Your times are in God’s hands, and if He hasn’t said it is over, who are you to say that your time has passed?

Confess God’s word and not your present reality. Only God has the right to close your case, and since you are still alive, it means that He hasn’t closed it, and He still has a lot in store for you.

OPEN HEAVEN 22 JULY 2025 KEY POINT

As long as you are still alive, God can control times and seasons to favour you.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR

    Isaiah 29-31

HYMN 15: Pass Me Not O Gentle Saviour

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL 22 JULY 2025 COMMENTARY

    MEMORISE: Daniel 2:21

“And He changeth the times and the seasons: He removeth kings, and setteth up kings: He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.”

This verse establishes God’s absolute sovereignty over human timelines and biological limitations. What men call “too late,” God calls “right on time.”

    BIBLE READING: Psalms 31:14-21

    David’s declaration in adversity reveals:

    • v.15: “My times are in Thy hand…” → Divine control over destiny schedules
    • v.19-20: God’s hidden blessings for those who hope in Him despite delays

    When God Rewrites Expiry Dates

The devotional shares a miraculous testimony of:

    1. menopausal woman receiving a husband
    2. Conceiving twins against medical odds
    3. Divine timeline reversal (like Sarah in Genesis 21)

    1. God’s Authority Over Biological Clocks

    • Menopause ≠ Finality:
      • Sarah (Genesis 17:17), Elizabeth (Luke 1:36), and this sister all conceived post-menopause
      • Scientific Note: God can reactivate dormant eggs or create new life ex nihilo (Hebrews 11:3)
    • Modern Application:
      • For those told “You’re too old” for:
        • Marriage
        • Career shifts
        • Ministry launch

    2. How God Resets “Expired” Seasons

    • Speed Acceleration (Habakkuk 2:3):
      • The sister went from resigned singleness to wedding + twins in months
    • Time Reversal (2 Kings 20:1-11):
      • Like Hezekiah’s 15-year extension, God can add years to biological capacity
    • Season Exchange (Joel 2:25):
      • Restores what locusts (time, critics, biology) stole

    3. Keys to Activating Your Turnaround

    1. Release Your Request (Like the Sister at the Crusade)
      • Even her “resignation prayer” was a faith declaration (Mark 11:24)
    2. Ignore Human Timelines (Isaiah 55:8-9)
      • Doctors/society said “too late”—God said “new beginnings”
    3. Prepare for Surprises (Matthew 9:29)
      • The sister bought bridal wear before seeing her husband
    4. Testify in Advance (Romans 4:17)
      • Like Abraham, call things that be not as though they were

    4. Warning Against “Closed Case” Mentality

    • Zechariah’s Mistake (Luke 1:18-20):
      • Doubted due to age → struck mute
    • The Sister’s Wisdom:
      • Said “I’ll serve You anyway” → kept her faith alive

    Prophetic Declarations Over Your Life

    • Marital Breakthrough: “Every ‘expired’ marital season revives now—receive your divine spouse!”
    • Biological Miracle: “Dormant wombs/sperm awaken! Conceive your Isaac against all odds!”
    • Destiny Reset: *”Wasted years restored—your 11th-hour miracle arrives suddenly!”*

Conclusion: Your Times Are in His Hands

    Pray this:
“Father, I reject every ‘expiry date’ placed on my destiny. As You revived Sarah’s womb and gave the menopausal sister twins, reverse every dead season in my life today. Let my story become a textbook of Your power over time, in Jesus’ name!”

    Remember:

    1. God specializes in “impossible” timelines (Jeremiah 32:27)
    2. Your obedience > biological age (Luke 1:37)
    3. He saves the best wine for last (John 2:10)

“And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.” (Luke 1:45). Your performance season is here!
